Carfully the woman edged closer to the mare speaking in low, calming tones. "Easy girl.. Meanin you no harm just here to help." Her tone was almost the same a mother might use to coo to her children. Gently she reached out her hands to show there was no foul play and edged around to the mare's side. Light in the little cave was horrible. Looking around she searched for Something to make a torch from. Finding a suitable stick and some lighter weight material she pulled out her buck knife and began fraying the stick's tip to a point before shoving the more light weight materials into a bunch in the frays. Digging in her bag once more, she pulled out two stones and started striking them together over another gathering of the light weight grasses and leaves. As she struck the stones together, sparks dazzled and sprayed onto the tinder bundle she'd made till finally, smoke an ember, and she blew lightly enough across it that flames began to dance in the bundle. She quickly set the bundle on the ground and lit the torch. Once she had light, she jammed the butt of her torch into a crack in the wall of the cave and moved to get a better look. "Now we have light.. lemme have a look at ya.. No foals... so it's not that reason..." Her eyes diligently scanned the mare as she spoke, looking for what ailed her till finally she saw the gashes. "Poor lady... have a run in with something nasty eh? You leave it to ol Lys.. she'll have ya up good as new before long." She gave a gently smile to the mare and started digging in her bag, edging close enough to allow the mare to .. inspect her should she find need to do so before trusting her.

Cad set off walking confident that the strange woman would take care of the mare.. His grandmother was often a bit too trusting as far as he'd always been concerned but he'd heard such good things from other soquili about two-leggers that he highly doubted this one could be any different or malicious. Her mask.... just where am I to find it?? I don't even know what it looks like. He frowned as he thought to himself. Still he said he'd look for it.. and that was what he was going to do.. besides... how many masks could be out here?

Digging in her bag once more, she sheathed the buck knife with the other on her belt before pulling out bundles of herbs and other such stuff. She'd have to get that big lumox to fetch water when he returned, she thought as she pulled out a pottery bowl and set it aside. The mare seemed to her to be trying to speak to her though all she could understand was a nicker. She'd been able to read body language in animals for many a year but never was she ever able to understand their languages. With diligent and gentle hands, she set to work looking over the wounds, checking for how deep they were and more or less cleaning them of mud as best as she could without water.

It'd taken a freak accident for him to find any masks at all. He was returning back with the mask in his mouth hoping this was the one she'd been looking for. He doubted there could be any others out there.. but still.. one never knew. Shoving the bush aside with his shoulder, he walked into the cave, careful not to burn himself on the torch yet wondering just What it was. "Dish It?"

Cad nodded and set the mask down beside the mare's head. He knew not her name still but it didn't bother him. "You're welcome. I'm happy to help." Glancing aside he saw the bowl and blinked wondering what it was and what it was for. Looking at the two-legged, he nudged her lightly with his nose and looked at the bowl as if asking her.

Lysia chuckled lightly as she was nudged. "Ah good.. your back." Lifting the bowl, she offered it up to the stallion and she flopped onto her hind end. "Go get me water." Was all she said.

Gently taking the bowl in his teeth, he left and filled it with water in the near by stream before returning and setting it down, spilling about half of it as he did so. "Here.. water.. I think she means for you to drink." However, he couldn't have been any more wrong if he'd tried.

She pulled the bowl close to herself and pulling out a piece of calico cloth from the bag, dipped it into the water and started to cleanse the wounds. Her hands were as gentle as the could be though she had to pull bits of hair and foliage still from the cuts. it was the deeper cuts that had her more worried. as she worked on the deeper wounds, she chewed on a sting of sinew to make it supple and flexible for use. Setting the now blood soaked cloth and bloody water aside, she pulled the sinew from her mouth and threaded it through a needle she's managed to get hold of. traders often had the best things. After threading the needle, she patted the mare with a sympathetic look and set to stitching the deeper wounds up.

Cadhla was more intrigued by the item the two-legger was using than what she was doing. Eying the mare he frowned lightly. "Do you need something for the pain? it looks horribly painful but maybe it's for the better?" He looked from the woman to the mare and back again.

Gently she patted the mare once more and cooed her apologies before looking in her bag once more and pulling out a few leaves, she chewed them up and put the now mushed leaved over the stitched wounds. She then took out another herb and offered it to the mare with an open palm. It was mint to aid the stomach in case the pain had upset it where as the mushed leaves that were now topical on the stitches were to ease the pain and ward off infections.

Standing, the woman dusted her hands and looked Cad in the eyes dead serious. "You don't go letting her wander off on her own and making those wounds worse.. don't need her tearing those stitches...." She patted cad on the nose and digging into the bag once more.. pulled out some cactus pads and scraped off their thorns before cutting them open exposing the meat of the plant and putting them one by one over the stitched area before tearing up a large amount of calico cloth and dressing the wounds the rest of the way. Once her work was finally finished, she gathered her things and left the cave into the light storm that had formed.

Cad simply blinked at the woman and watched her before turning his attention back to the mare after the two-legger left. It dawned on him that until now.. he hadn't bothered to introduce himself. "I'm Cadhla by the way..." He offered her a friendly smile. "You gave me quite the scare when I found you.. I thought you might have been too far gone for aid."

Nodding his head in response, he blew his forelock from his eyes. Her talk of spirits guiding her and what not flew over his head. He never really did believe in ghosts, spirits.. or higher powers.. he was too logical that way. "It's a pleasure meeting you miss Adalyn, if even the circumstances." He gave her a more polite bow like his father had thought him to do. He wasn't trying to flirt for he had never had the inkling to do so with anyone ever, Besides.. she was injured and the last thing any injured pony needed was to be annoyed by a twitterpated fool. He was far too much the gentlemen for such things. Settling in so he could watch the mouth of the cave, he looked around the cave for anything the woman might have left behind. Finding nothing he looked back to the mare then the leak in the roof of the cave. Looking back at Adalyn he sighed some. "I'm sorry.. the leak and all.. You seem to have something on you mind and maybe I'm not the first individual you'd rather be cooped up with.. But since you're injured.. I'd feel guilty if I just let you wander out of here. Since we'll be her at least till this storm lets up.. Perhaps we could get more acquainted. I'm not a scary sort.. just.. a bit easily distracted by tinkering on any given day usually.." He rambled off a bit without meaning to.

Cad peered a her through his forelock and offered a small smile. "Tinkering.. I'm an inventor of sorts." Was all he said. Turning his head once more, he gazed out into the rain and frowned lightly. He could see that she wasn't in the least bit interested in conversing with him. Far be it from him to push some one to do something they didn't want to so he fell silent, settling for watching the patterns in the rain,

"Plenty of things.. small things to use for amusement, useful things.. when I was a foal.. I made a glider for my sisters. They always wanted to tough the skies.. feel what it was like to be like our mother's friend. So.. after much doing and thinking.. I made them a glider to carry them. Albeit they could only enjoy the lift in the air so long as they jumped from a hilltop.. but none the less.. it worked for them.." He really had always been smart for his age. It was something that often he didn't let onto fearing that one day some one might try to use his knowledge from something horrible.
