eek wow. well, I guess that'll be quite a trip if you decide to go there? But I think it's great you got some wood to make a wand out of. I would buy mine, but as I've said, I'm more of an air person (hence me wanting an athame before some of the other things), so I'll just use candles for now until I get a wand. I was thinking of going to "thewandshop.com" it's based on Harry Potter stuff, but the woman in charge of the shop handmakes everything, even down to the ink. I got a quill, parchment, and ink from her. I'd just ask not to put anything in the core, because that's a little *too* HP for me *shrug*

Drekena, I was currious as to how well the wand works for you being of lemon wood and all. In my experience, lemon is best used in curses and such and can often times add bad effects to otherwise good spells. I mean, don't get me wrong, I don't do curses so my knowledge is limited. But I was still currious as to whether you ran into any problems with its usage or not? Brightest blessings, Rhuki

(I'm a newbie, and still learning) I have not been able to use my wand in any spells, but I have used it to attract energy during meditations, and nothing serious has went wrong. Infact I think it helped me to meditate better, because my ability to conentrate is very bad. I will keep an eye out though to see if the wand does affect any magickal activities of mine. Thanks for bringing that up.

~ I have made my own from a dogwood tree on my property. I find it delightfully willful. I also have made one of a maple tree, also on my property. It is very quiet.
As far as the athame vs the wand. I find that it is easier to draw magic in general, to a spell with a wand, however if you have to direct it precisely that a blade is the only way to go. I work with a wand and shortsword, both in hand at once. ~
