He was tempted to let her pull him on the wheeled chair, but she was already yelling at him for wanting to copy, so he figured he'd get into even more trouble if he made her do that work, too. He got up and followed, still musing instruments and backwards hands as he did. His interest in the class and subject was complete nil. Nada. Nothing whatsoever--except terror of the teacher, that was.
"Where's it at?" he asked. "Point or tell me and I'll get it," he said, looking at the books in front of him.

Good thing Roch didn't make her pull his chair; the ghoul had the body of a nine year old, a rotten one, a weak and rotten one. She wouldn't have gotten him two steps anyway!
"That one!" Amrita pointed upwards, apparently to the very top shelf on the tall stack. "Preventing Mold & Other Transmitted FEAR Infections among young Scarelings" She parroted the book title from the piece of paper she had. "It...it's on the very top, I think it's that peach coloured one..." Poor Roch, had to get things on the high shelves. The Boil didn't look too interested in the topic though...perhaps she should find a way to keep it interesting? Oh dear Jack, how would she go about doing that?!
How did she get Nuk to do his homework? Err, well, she mostly just whined at him...but she did threaten to beat him with a textbook once. He had laughed at her for the attempt, but the attempt was there!
"Umm...what do you know about, uhm, m-mating?" She questioned suddenly, probably to buy herself time to figure out how to aptly bribe the boil.

"Just a lot of talk from the guys back home," Roch said as he headed over to the rolling ladder and pulled it to where she was pointing. The sucker was pretty heavy, he thought with a grunt. It probably had to be because it was so huge. He climbed up a few steps and grabbed the book she was looking for, raising an eyebrow at the color.
"Peach? Seriously? This must be a jackin' horrifying book," he said as he came down. "Hey, why don't we just write 'Don't do it' and hand that in?" he asked as he flipped through the book--and promptly made a face. "They really shouldn't have diagrams in this thing..."

...That didn't buy her any time at all!
Amrita was still completely lost on the subject. She didn't understand mating or special feelings or anything, she just knew that mold was gross and the product of two FEARs that were not compatable. "It could be worse." She lamented. "It could be pink. Or spits out fire. Or both." The tiny ghoul shuddered unhappily; a pink book that spit flames? Nightmare!
"No! Nurse Cricket wanted an actual answer! We can add that but...gotta have something else!" She puffed out her cheek for a moment, then looked curiously up at the Reaper. "Diagram? What's it of?"
Jack, she needed to think of something, and fast! Uhm. What did he like...he liked music! Yes, music. Amrita couldn't bribe him with music, she was terrible. Uhhh...Lollipops! He'd taken two of the purple ones from her booth, didn't he? "If...if you do your homework, properly, I'll...I'll take you to the candy store!" She blurted out, hoping that was bribe enough. "...And I'll buy you something!" It was probably important to add that part.

"Yeaaah?" he said, grinning at her. "Or if you have any of those suckers left, I'd be willin' to take them off your hands!" he added. He was so easy. "C'mon, lets get this over with," he added as he headed for the table. "And I don't think you wanna see the diagrams," he added, flipping to the front of the book and running a finger over the various chapter titles.
"Mating... mating... okay, I think I found something," he said, flipping to the page. He seemed a lot more interested now that there was a reward on the horizon. "FEAR infections... and protection spells," he read.

"I...might. I lost most of them when my booth was destroyed..." Sad turn of events, that. It was also the cause of her broken knuckles! Funny how these things worked! "I'll check, but if not...candy store." Bribe was a bribe! The ghoul followed him to a table and climed onto the chair, sitting with her knees bent against her chest and her feet tucked under her rear.
"Okay! So we needed to know what Mating was, and...at least one way to prevent FEAR infections." Amrita stressed the at least part. They already had one, but putting that down seemed like cheating when there was clearly a lot more ways to go about it.
"Protection spells? What's that?" She asked; partially to make him do the work for his own homework, and partially because she had no idea. "What if one isn't magical enough to do spells?" Like Undeads, for example!

He looked at it. Then he turned the book sideways. Then upside down. "It's a spell. And yeah, I mean, I guess I have plenty of FEAR--sometimes TOO much of it, but hell if I know how to pull off a spell like this," he admitted. "I haven't gotten enough training to do stuff like this, and you--you don't have enough FEAR to do it..."
There had to be another answer--another way to get the protection spells. Roch frowned slightly, then stood again, heading for the computers. "Wouldn't it make sense for people to sell them? Maybe they could, I dunno, package the spell somehow--" Then he stopped.
"But she was talking about students, right? So maybe that's not what she's looking for anyway." His mind was rushing, as it only did when something caught his attention. "So even if we know there's spells, we don't know how to do them yet, right?"

"Hrmmm..." What was left of Amrita's face scrunched with the news. "But why would Cricket bother teaching us about this stuff if we can't prevent it anyway...?" Not that she ever intended on getting mold or mating or whathave you! But it was always important to know, she assumed. She hoped the information would stay with her though, Jack knew her brain wasn't the greatest. Like being tired constantly.
"...Oh wait!" Selling them! Roch said selling them! Something clicked in her head. "M-maybe...a charm? We should look up protection charms instead of spells!" It was about that time she noticed that Roch had gotten up to head to the computers, so Amrita took possession of the book, flipping through the chapter to see if there was any big fonted mention of protection charms.
"Ah-hah! There are charms! F-for those who can't use magic..." She read off, though her voice faded and she didn't read any further. Yay, they had an answer! "So that makes it...'Don't do it', 'Use Protection Charms' and...hmm" Apparently she was all set to overachieve, which meant Roch wasn't getting out of this until he helped her.
"...Didn't Nurse Cricket say if one FEAR was too big is could obliterate the other...?" Head canting, she looked thoughtful. It was on the tip of her tongue, on the verge of something important that was related to the different species...

"Yeah," Roch admitted, looking down at his hand. "Yeah, something like that. So maybe something about... sticking to your own type?" he said, shoving his hands into his pockets. "Because they're more likely to have similar FEAR levels. Especially the really high FEAR level types, like reapers and demons."
Which was kind of racist in a way, but when it came to life or death he figured that sort of thing should be mentioned anyway. "Because it'd be really... easy, y'know? You accidentally overload the other person--and you gotta like them, right? To do that sort of stuff. And then BAM, you've blown them up."

"...Probably. Like...Demons and Undead?" Amrita submitted with a nod, thinking about it. "That would be terrible! So very sad..." Luckily she couldn't think of anyone who fit that description. Everyone she knew of that had a boil/ghoulfriend/mate whatever, all seemed fairly on level. Lizzy and Mac, for instance! Wait! Lizzy and Mac!
"...Wait, do you think...a Demon could blow up a Reaper with FEAR...?" She asked suddenly, sounding rather scared. For some reason, Charlie never crossed her mind, at least not right away. Probably because they were special friends, not a mating pair. There was a difference, see! At least that was how she saw it, since she didn't know the difference between a regular friend and a special one anyway.

"Hell if I know," Roch said. "I'd say the reaper might actually have more FEAR than the demon, but I'm probably biased. Either way, it's better than either of them with someone that's got hardly any FEAR at all," he said, sitting down at the computer and typing "Protection Charms" into gruegle. He let out a long whistle at the response he got back. "Way too many pages to count. And it looks like they're specialized for species and stuff."
He looked at her. "So we got our answer, right?" he said. "Don't do it, or use protective charms, and be careful about who you're doing it with."

"Ooooh...I wonder if Lizzy knows that." She breathed out curiously, mostly to herself. Lizzy was in that class, Mac too! They were both very smart, smarter than her...so they must know, right? Or should she tell them - err, Lizzy, she didn't know Mac enough to talk about this stuff - or should she just leave it? So many options!
"Yes! See? That wasn't so---" She paused, she looked down, around, and then at Roch. "Err...Pen and Paper?" You can't do or complete homework without writing it down! That was just...wrong! "I didn't...bring any. Did you?"

"I... Have my music paper," he said with a sigh, heading for his bag. He opened it up and dug through it, pulling out a few sheets and a couple of pens. He headed for the table, handing her a piece and a pen, then sat down with his own to jot down what they'd found.
His handwriting really did suck, not that he realized it. "Don't do it, if you gotta do it, use protective charms, you can find them on the interweb. And don't do it with people that have different FEAR levels than you," he said as he wrote. That was his homework. He was done.

Amrita clapped for him.
"YAY YOU'RE DONE! Congrats!" The hand with the probably broken knuckles pat the boil on the shoulder, and then rested on the table as she hopped down off of it. "That wasn't so bad, and see? Now you won't get in trouble!" The tiny thing was beaming with what was left of her face while her hands dusted off her blood stained, dirty old sari. "So, did you want to come with me to see if I have any suckers first?" A promise was a promise, right? He did his homework, she had to fulfill her end of the bargain.

"Nah," he said, patting his pockets. "I'm the one that should give you a treat. If you hadn't made me do it, I wouldn't be done with it right now, right?" he said, pulling out a small bag of chocolates and offering it. "Or I could play for you, if you want."
He really didn't wanna see Hellma over not having done his homework. Or worse, in his mind, Cricket. He shuddered slightly at the thought. "You do like music, right?"
