How do I find Amaterasu?

The question continued to linger in his mind as the Anima walked casually about Rockface Village, moving naturally among the humans with his hood up and human 'face' unveiled. His 'blue' eyes looked to every building as he passed; The Lord of The Devil's Eye even struck up conversation with a small group of farmers. They all seemed on edge... and sure enough, in conversation they mentioned their nightmares. Krayth did not hesitate to mention he had a similar vision, and the men's words grew more alarmed. When they asked what nation he came from, Krayth lied -Indelca- but the effect it had was the same as their words had on him. The nightmare was had... not just by the people of the Desert; not just the people of Ernya, but by at least 3 separate nations? Every man, woman and child within had the same nightmare... Krayth apologized, and said he had business to attend to as he asked for directions to the nearest Smithy.

He took the first turn as the men had directed him to, but after that Krayth stopped following the directions. His question had been a simple feint. He had to find Amaterasu -more urgently now than when he had arrived. It was only after some time had passed that the deep rumble in his belly drew attention to his body's hunger. The Anima realized that he had not fed his physical form in nearly two days, and if he didn't eat food soon... the primal hunger within him would begin to rise. Krayth bit his lip. He could not allow himself to claim a soul here. To do so, and for his true identity to be discovered... it would mean war between The Devil's Eye and Jiaum. It would be a war the desert would lose. Their people still struggled to rebuild their lives after the revolution. Their blood would not be on Krayth's hands.

With haste, The Anima sought out a nearby restaurant and followed the scents of fresh food to a modestly constructed building. He passed the crowds in the street and opened the door to the establishment; the aromas that greeted his nose were delicious.

He took a seat at the counter of the restaurant and was warmly greeted by the man cutting fish their.

"Welcome, friend! You are hungry? What can I get you?"

"Whatever is best, please." The disguised Lord of The Devil's Eye said. The chef was pleased that Krayth put his trust in him and said, "Okay! You will be pleased, I guarantee it! Thank you."

He took a moment to survey the other patrons as he waited. A woman in elegant robes and a man stuck out to him, but he did not move to speak to them. For now, he waited on his food.

Minutes passed. Krayth kept to himself; occasionally allowing himself to glance over at the woman and man in the corner. His eyes returned to his gloved hands, and his mind had no choice but to dwell on the knowledge he had acquired... The Crimson Legion's impending threat. The nationwide nightmares... the choices he made in Rivenwall. Then, just as his thoughts were slowly descending into the memories of the devil Besrim... dumplings!

"Here you are! Please enjoy, I make them from scratch!"

With the tray of steaming gyoza came a bowl of soup and a small dish for dipping sauce. Krayth stared at it for a moment, and was very grateful for the chef's sense of timing. He smiled slightly, and bowed his head.

"I know I will. Please, take this."

The Lord of the Devil's Eye was disguised, but his currency's origin he could not mask. Krayth set two 24 karat gold coins on the counter, their faces marked with the crests of the Blood Barons, and the chef's eyes grew wide.

"Friend, I cannot take this! You traveled very far, and this - this is not so expensive!"

The Lord's smile widened ever so slightly, and he pushed them towards the man. "Please, I insist. You are very hospitable." Krayth's words were warm, and the chef was beside himself with shock and joy.

"Sir, you are so kind! So kind! Please, I will get you some sake! The best!"

Before Krayth could protest, the man had rushed into the back of the restaurant. As he departed, The Lord turned his eyes back to the food before him, seized the utensils he was given, and ate with a ravenous zeal. He seemed like more of a beast and less of a man as he ate, so great was his suppressed hunger. Before he could get far though, he heard the name...

Lady Amaterasu?

His head shot up from his plate and jerked towards the table with the woman in robes and the other man. Now, another were-creature was present at their table, kneeling. He had just said Lady Amaterasu's name. There was no mistaking it. That woman had to be the very Lady he sought.

He knew that of the three present, there was no way his sudden attention towards Amaterasu would go unnoticed. The Lord of The Devil's Eye knew it was time to act. Without delay Krayth wiped his mouth, rose from his seat at the counter, and advanced towards The Lady of Jiaum and her Knights. His pace was swift and deliberate, and could easily be misinterpreted as aggressive, but his words spoke in a different tone. One of humility and respect.

"Lady Amaterasu, I come from The Devil's Eye Desert seeking your council. Forgive my rudeness, but no one carries a graver message."

He stood there, his hands open to reveal that he held no weapon. He only hoped she would listen to his words, and her Knights would not leap to accost him.
