Mot rubbed his chin and hummed thoughtfully. So they had options. But would they work? If she owned a music box, why had she not used it? Did it not do the trick?

"I don't think playing the keyboard would put you to sleep anyway." He mused lightly.

Oh!

"One of the things that puts me out quickly is if I overexert myself! Maybe if we ran a couple of laps, you'd get tired enough to sleep?"
He paused and looked critical of his suggestion. "Oh, but you seem kind of out of it though. I doubt you'd last..." Clearly he was going about this the wrong way.

They reached a bench, and Mot sat upon it, patting the seat beside him for Mitsu. "I don't mean to pry, but maybe if you talk about your nightmare, we can try and make it less scary?"

Running laps. Why did that just seem like a bad idea, even in her zombie-like state? At least Mot seemed to rethink his suggestion. "Y..yeah, I would probably fall." Mitsu admitted.

Following the reaper a bit further Mitsu complied with his gesture to have a seat next to him almost dropping down like her legs just didn't want to keep her up any longer. She...hadn't really expect him to ask about her dream. It made her shift uncomfortably on the bench beside him her tail curling up into her lap like a security blanket.

"I umm.." She started in a stammer. Mot was still very new to her though he had been nothing but kind so far. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad to...share a little? Though Mitsu had never really shared her nightmares before. They were hard to describe because there wasn't much of a visual but there was a feeling, a pressing feeling that something was very wrong.

"Y..you will probably think I am silly." Mitsu said softly, focusing on her tail in her lap her fingers combing through the fur nervously. "I...I don't really see much, just glimpses of images, dark things mostly, a tall man shrouded in shadows. I can't really see anything except the wide smile on his face." And it wasn't a friendly smile in the least. No, this smile spoke of devious and malicious intent.

Her ears folding down a little Mitsu tried to think of what else. "I..it's mostly a feeling I have. There's this pressing feeling that something is very wrong. I feel heavy and can't move and as the man steps closer I suddenly feel pain. Sometimes...I wake up at that point other times......I don't." She didn't really elaborate on the fact that when she didn't wake up it just felt like she endured hours of torment only to wake up to nothing being wrong or out of place. Surely Mot got the idea though.

Mot listened carefully as Mitsu went on, frowning at the unpleasant nature of the dream. He was no expert, not having experienced dreams quite like these, but it was almost as if the dream represented an anxiety of sorts.

"That's not silly. I'm sure it's terrifying." He commented quietly, watching the ghoul as she seemed to fidget uncomfortably. He was happy she was comfortable enough with him to at least give him that much information. It would be difficult to comfort her if he didn't know what was wrong. But how do you fight off a nightmare? A dark feeling? There was no way to make light of such a grim image.

As scary as those dreams are, the ghoul could not simply stay awake and avoid them. She would collapse for certain. Unlike Mot, who stayed awake simply because he was often always wide awake anyway.
Mot wanted so much to help his friend, but he was having a very tough time coming up with a solution. "Well, if you go to bed feeling scared, of course you'll have a scary dream. So let's get you to think happy thoughts~."

Mot was a complete simpleton sometimes.

A little of the tenseness that Mitsu had been feeling eased slightly when Mot told her it wasn't silly. He really was very kind not to make fun of her for something most others would find ridiculous.

"Happy thoughts?" Mitsu questioned. Usually she was so plagued by the negative that it was hard to see anything good. Maybe that was the key though. Think happy thoughts. "Have you ever had nightmares before?" Mitsu asked curiously. Mot just seemed rather...happy and lighthearted it was hard to picture him being tormented by a nightmare but it was possible. Everyone had their fears, Mitsu knew that most of all.

"Right. Happy thoughts." He stated again with a nod. "When you lay down for bed, think about all the things that make you feel happy, or safe. Close your eyes and play those nice things in your head like a mantra." It was a start at least? It seemed like a sound idea.

"Not that I can remember." Mot said thoughtfully, honestly trying to think of dreams or nightmares he'd had in the past. He didn't have a whole lot of anxieties, and though he had some rough patches in his home life, they were in no way traumatizing. "When I was a kid I'd have bad dreams. Can't remember those either though." He scratched his cheek, pursing his lips. Gosh, he was no help! Poor Mitsu bared something sensitive, and he was giving her zilch! "I don't usually remember my dreams."

Storing that away Mitsu gave a nod. She would have to think of some comforting thoughts. Maybe if she kept those thoughts close when she went to sleep her dreams wouldn't be as bad.

Her ears seemed to deflate a bit though when Mot really couldn't relate. While Mitsu was certain she forgot a lot of what went on in her dreams the bad feelings they left behind were more than enough to make her not want to have them. "Oh.." She said simply in reply to the reaper.

After a moment more of silence Mitsu let out a yawn, the lack of sleep really catching up with her. In an effort to try and keep her mind alert somewhat, the lycan turned to Mot curiously. She didn't know much about the cowboil so maybe was a good time to get better acquainted with him. It was hard to think of things to ask though. "So what kinds of things do you like Mot? If you were in my position what would you think about?" It was somewhat on topic at least.

Mot fidgeted with his hands when the conversation went dead. Gee, had he left her feeling out of place? His mind tried to come up with a way to make her feel less alienated, but soon enough, the lupine piped up.

"Me?" Mot asked turning his head to Mitsu. He looked thoughtful, or as thoughtful as a half hidden face could look, his head turning away as he pondered. He smirked and nodded after a moment. "I'd think about having an adventure. Shooting down hidden enemies in a bad town taken over by a gang, saving the day and all of the townspeople. Or maybe I'd think about something nicer, like... discovering a new land after a long journey on horseback, with nothing but open spaces... Mot stretched his feet ut, staring out into nothing as he thought up nice things. "Or winning a ton of money in a high stakes gamble! Or...." Wait, were these even considered nice things?

Mot seemed frustrated then, shifting his hat with one hand as if scratching his head to think "Gee, I honestly hardly think about anything when I do sleep." He admitted with a frown. "Maybe I'm too dense for dreams.."

"Adventure?" Mitsu was intrigued by the idea, her ears rotating forward to give Mot her full attention. It was hard to say for sure how she felt about the things Mot was saying but it seemed even in her tired state she was trying to take in the details, her ears twitching every once in a while as if to indicate she was processing the information.

"I don't think you're dense. Y-you said you didn't sleep for long, maybe you're not asleep long enough for dreaming to happen." REM sleep was something achieved after being out for a while. With as little as Mot said he slept Mitsu wouldn't be surprised if he just wasn't out long enough to ever experience it. "You're ideas sound fun though." It sounded like a movie or some sort. A western from tv. Though...that made sense too.

"Things that make me happy," Mitsu started trying to give some thought to it. Her things sounded much more simple compared to his. "My friends and playing the piano." There were others but those were the top two. "I think those are the greatest things that make me happy."

"Well, that certainly makes sense." Mot nodded. If he didn't sleep long, then dreams couldn't take root! Unfortunatly, it was difficult for him to sleep more than a few hours.

Mot nodded, looking at Mitsu again. "Those are good things. Think of your friends when you fall asleep, or imagine playing your piano. As long as it makes you happy, it should be harder to think of anything bad." Or so he hoped. He had no idea how deeply rooted the ghoul's dark worries crept in her fragile mind.

"Next time you feel scared from a bad dream, maybe sing to yourself to chase the bad things away." Mot said suddenly. "When I was a kid and had a nightmare, though I don't remember what of, I'd stand on my bed and sing as loudly as I could to scare the bad things away. Then mom would come running in and yell at me for making a ruckas. But hey, it worked~." Maybe the boil failed to realize his younger self just loved the attention his antics attracted.

"Sing to myself?" Mitsu asked curiously. "I...I'm not much of a singer." Though she supposed she didn't have to be for what Mot was telling her. It wasn't like she was singing for anyone, just herself. Though the image of little Mot standing on his bed singing at the top of his lungs made her smile behind her mask. It was cute, though she still pictured him with the hat. She had never seen him without it much like he had never seen her without her mask.

"Do you always wear your hat, Mot?" Mitsu asked pointing to the accessory. "I've never seen you without it, I really can't picture you otherwise." She admitted. There wasn't a question to remove or move his hat, that question would never come. That was a boundary that Mitsu would never cross because it would mean she needed to be prepared to remove her mask in return.

"You don't have to be. No one else will be around, right?" Unless she had company while sleeping, which seemed unlikely if she still had nightmares.

Mot smirked and nodded. "Always. Except the obvious, like showering, but always." He adjusted his hat further down his face, feeling proud of his accessory. "I've had it for years, since I was about 10 or so. It just makes me feel safe, you know?" Safe and hidden, badass, and it was also a very treasured gift from his parents. "Same story with the mask?" He asked, pointing toward Mitsu.

"K..kind of." Mitsu nodded. "I found it not long after my parents disappeared. I does make me feel safe." She said touching the mask lightly. "I don't feel...like such an outcast with it on." It was still an insecurity she had yet to over come. At her old school she had been made fun of for her cuter features. The monsters there prided themselves on being odd and scary and she was...far from it.

"Everyone here has been rather nice though," the smile in her voice was evident as she thought about the short amount of time she had already spent at the school. "I never really had anyone to talk to before and now I have quite a few friends." It was still something she was adjusting to, having someone there. She just had to remind herself of that when she started to feel alone.

Parents disappeared? Outcast? Mot had come into this knowing very little about the timid ghoul, and now he seemed to be peeling away the layers that made up Mitsu. She was timid for a reason, and a self confidence issue seemed to be one of those reasons.

Mot smiled, nodding to what she said. "Yeah. There's no reason to feel alone. I think we all have a solid group of friends." Mot chuckled and gave the small ghoul a pat on the shoulder, then ruffled her hair lightly. "And you certainly don't need to feel like you're an outcast. I certainly never thought that of you." He brought his hand back to his side and leaned back.

"There's so many different kinds of students here. We're all different, and as far as I can tell, nobody would ever think to ostracize you for being you. If anyone tries? Well..." He smirked and chuckled. "You've got yourself an army of friends ready to stick their necks out for you."

That did make Mitsu smile though Mot obviously couldn't see. Maybe one day she would be able to walk around without her mask, it was so much a part of her at the moment though she couldn't bare to be without in when out in public. "T..there are a lot of different students here. My old school was mostly made up of the monster race." And of that mostly bullies it seemed. "I had never really seen reapers before until I came here."

Her guardian warned her about them, he seemed to fear them though she couldn't figure out why. So far all the reapers had been very nice to her like most of the other students here.

Yawning again Mitsu slumped forward a little. Being immobile was making her even more tired and just talking with someone was calming her down. She would likely pass out soon.

It made sense to Mot if the ghoul had attended a race specific school. He himself grew up in a community of reapers, so seeing anyone outside his own race was usually rare.

Mot smiled, chuckling as the ghoul seemed to be falling asleep on the spot. "I think we'd better get you back. You look tired." Mot stood, offering his arm for the tired lupine. If she was as tired as her posture seemed, then she might need an arm to lean on. It was easy to read her, even with the mask.

Mot was fairly confident he had taken her mind off of nightmares for the night. And for that, he was glad. It wouldn't do to have the ghoul too scared to rest her head.
