"Ask Vin?" was Misha's diplomatic answer to her mostly rhethorical question, before he returned his attention to the Proto. Well, asking Vin might indeed not be a bad idea, he seemed to be relatively good with getting some sense into people. Withing limits. Narrow limits.

"Didn't your lady tell you it's dangerous to go out like that? Kel, people don't really like 'us', you know. You have to be careful. But we can talk about that later, " he exchanged another glance with Rhian, do you agree, mom? "it's lunchtime now and you came all this way, so you might as well join and say hello to everyone."
He'd give miss Riley a call later, she might be worried after all. For now, he had his hands full getting everyone inside the house. He hadn't felt like leaving the box behind, but he left it outside on the porch to not clutter things up too much.

Indeed, the hall was filling up, and Timka made sure to keep the bottleneck from jamming up, invited Josev into the living room after giving him a warm welcome and saying hello to Feodor from afar. In his baby-box, Romeo had noticed the commotion and begun making small demanding noises as he pulled himself up to try and see what the fuss was all about. Ey, guys, GUYS, what, what are you doing, who's this now? C'mon, I wanna see! The little blondie even twisted and turned his face into odd shapes to try and call Aoi, mimicking the noise that seemed to attract the flower-child's attention.
A-a-ooooo-eee? Whee! Awhee!

Aoi found himself halting in mid step, oh dear, adorable sonic weaponry, direct hit. He turned towards where he knew Romeo to be, and couldn't help but smile as he walked over to pay a little visit to the newest addition. "About time you met Romeo, Feodor, go on, say hi...

The little spider froze up a bit, wait, no, it's just a child, nothing scary...He managed to extend a small wave and a soft "...hello..." to the infant, deciding right there to knit something for it - he began work immediately.

Josev, not wishing to make things any more chaotic, remained at the sidelines, going over and greeting Romeo as well to help keep the young one sufficiently entertained.

As for Elst...kitchen fussing continued with a fervor, unfortunately, and he'd not yet managed to greet his guests.

Rhian caught Misha's meaning and nodded. filing away the idea to talk to Vin in the future - she needed to catch up with him anyway, and perhaps a (supervised) visit with Kel would be a good thing. She didn't want her offspring to have the Essence scared out of him, but he really did need to learn a few things about the world. "Lunch would be good for both of us, I think," she said, in lieu of a reprimand. Instead she placed a hand on Kel's head to keeo the large proto from running - er, floating - off.

For his part, Kel tilted his head curiously. "I hid in a box when I first emerged," he said, unaware that at that point in time there had been no other option to try and conceal him. He was easily distracted, however, by the promise of lunch. "Lunch? May I help? I need to learn more things to help Aisling and Riley."

The proto was completely unaware that he was more or less in serious trouble for his little stunt.

Ah well, later-borns tended to get cut more slack than the ones to come before them, once the 'parents' knew better what they could allow to happen without a public panic breaking out. Misha'd already come to terms with the idea that making this into a huge topic would lead to nothing, beside Kel possibly being made to feel bad, if he was even capable of working out that he'd just endangered the entire family.

For now, he closed the topic behind him, the way he closed the door, narrowly not trapping his little plushy-tail in it. Wow, what a crowd ey, move it Kel, make some room, hah.
"Oh yeah, Rhian, y'might want to meet the new'un." he vaguely gestured into the living room where Romeo was already getting plenty of attention, and was suddenly very busy pretending to fix the doorhandle and deposit keys where keys didn't belong.

Indeed, right now the little plantling couldn't complain about the stimulation he was receiving, to the point where he was too entranced by Feodor to even notice Josev coming over. He'd been happy, and vocal about it, when Aoi heeded his call -yes! it worked-, to immediately lapse into a stunned silence at the sight of Feo. He'd almost gotten a little scared, all those legs and mandibles oh my, but when the knitting started any residual reservations were dispelled and he could only gawk his big green eyes out. Tic tic ticitty tic, oooooooooh~

Timka chuckled at his befuddled-enchanted expression, standing with his short legs in locked mode and leaned into the wooden poles of his box, like a little prisoner gawking at passing ladies. Well, somewhat. Prisoners didn't slightly drool, nor did they have blossoms on them that spontaneously flashed into cinnaber glory at the spectacle they were treated to.
With Romeo occupied, she retreated into the kitchen to go and relieve another shackled one from his duties, if only for five minutes. It took a few moment to find an opportune timing, but once she did she calmly pounced on Elst, purred up to him to slow him down.
"Think you can spare a minute to come say hi?" she asked him, smiling warmly, and looked around at all the work he'd done, once again finding herself impressed with what he'd managed to fix up there in only this amount of time. "Aw, they'll love it, it looks delicious~"

Awww, lookithat…Aoi was more than happy to remain near the crib to allow the little plant hybrid a nice view of the shiny-glowy spider. He couldn’t help but have a wide grin at the sight of Romeo’s expressions. “Already learning my name, are we…?” Feodor, furiously knitting something together, didn’t particularly mind where he was, as long as he was being held up and secure. So what if he was being gawked at, the gawker in question wasn’t a threat, right? Nearby, Josev had taken a seat in one of the many cushy seating options the living room so graciously offered. He calmly watched the back-and-forth between Misha and Rhian, as well as the occasional comment by Kel, and he made a mental note to take that particular proto out with him more often.

Back within the (rather amazing-smelling, by now – he made pie) kitchen, Elst turned to hear Longway’s suggestion, giving the oven a troubled glance. He begun to say “…I do need to keep an eye on the oven and the spanakopita is almost ready-“ He went quiet, though, because, oh dear, he’d been pounced, and he could quite get himself to fuss further in such a state, it was always so nice when she was near… “Well, I suppose I could go say hi, but only for a few minutes…” Ah, Longway and her guiles, ever so convincing.

Rhian tilted her head, unsure at first by what Misha meant about 'the new one', but it took only a quick peek into the living room to see exactly what he meant - and then she was out again, quite content to wait in the hall so that the little one wouldn't be bombarded by too many strangers at once. She didn't want to frighten him, after all! Sitting down and resting could wait a bit, if necessary.

Kel, on the other hand, had no such reservations - the floating proto caught one glimpse of the baby in the living room and was off in that direction, peering curiously and not sparing a glance at either of the other two Essentics already interacting with the small being. "Who is this? He is very small; is he supposed to be so small? Why do you keep him in a cage?"

Apparently, something else that Kel had inherited from Lauss was his sense of tact - or rather, the complete lack of it.

At firts, Misha didn't notice his sister lingered behind -quite uncharacteristic of her, you'd think she'd have been all over the squirt, but then again, she'd had three, four around already right in her own home. The novelty was sure to wear off sometime, and Misha had to admit he'd never been that enthusiastic about small humans himself, and this one in particular made him downright awkward, for reasons he couldn't quite explain.
Not awkward enough to not follow Kel into the room to make sure he didn't do anything funny there, though.

"That's Romeo? Yes, they all start of small, the way you're small now and you'll eventually grow bigger. Remember how you were a rock, once?"
he began explaining.
"And he's in a PEN" small correction "because he doesn't yet know running off could get him hurt, since he doesn't really understand what he's doing yet. This way you always know where he is, yeah?" The bunny cast him a meaningful look at that, not that he believed Kel would really figure out what he was getting at.

The chatter between him and Kel distracted Romeo from Feodor's hectic knitting, and to the little boy's surprise there was even MORE to oogle at now. Blue and warm red and hey, fluffy, and shiny! With a happy squeal, Romeo stuck a hand through the wide bars and gave a flail in Kel's general direction to greet him. When his mother guided Elst inside, he gave them a flappy wave as well for good measure. Maybe she'd take him out of the pen? Then he could go and play, wheee~
Why, yes, all of the colour and excitement the guests had brought in sure sparked his energy into overdrive.

Only then did Misha notice Rhian hadn't yet joined, and leaving Kel to his own devices, he stalked back to the hall and peeked around the door.
"You alright there, sis?"
He wasn't sure what sort of response he expected, stepped inside to not make her feel obliged to immediately come inside. This wasn't about manners, he just wanted to make sure she wasn't staying back because of some problem or other.

Aoi had opened his mouth for a moment to answer Kel’s questions, but the ever quick Misha was first to inform. He watched Romeo for a while, smiling as he heard Misha’s last comment, and was heading towards the couch near Josev when he realized Rhian was separate from the others. He decided to respect her privacy, and not try to read any emotions off of her, but before he could head over to her, Misha had once again proven quicker. Well, off to the couch, then. He sat near Josev, and the two conversed a while as Feodor kept himself busy with his threads in Aoi’s lap. Meanwhile, the larger Essentic kept an eye on Kel nearby.

Elst drifted out of the kitchen, seeing his guests all around, and decide to first occupy himself with greetings to Josev and Feodor, hello there…

Any reprimand that Misha was trying to imply with his explanation went clean over Kel's head, and the slightly furry, floating masked-and-winged proto remained happily oblivious to any notion of being 'in trouble'. "Romeo? That is an interesting name - and how is a pen different than a cage?" he asked - was there really a difference in the meaning? Curious. He simply must know more.

Kel floated closer to the small being and tilted his head, sticking out one hand to offer it to the baby. "Does he want something? Should I get it? Kel was nothing if not eager to assist.

Rhian, meanwhile, nodded at Misha as he came to the hall, and offered him a small smile. "Yes, I'm fine... I'll be in after a moment," she said quietly. Really what she needed was a few minutes to prove to herself that she was really here, that it wasn't just something she was imagining due to sheer loneliness - sure, she could sense her siblings and her offspring, but she was just trying to...

Well, it had been a long, hard journey. And she had been away from her homes for much too long. A great deal of maturing had occurred, yes, but along with maturing came damage; and a social spark spending so much time on her own... it hadn't been a completely positive experience, and that's as much as she was willing to admit, even to herself.

Kel's further chatter would have to find another, smaller, less furry ear before he'd get an answer to all his questions. Romeo certainly was happy to return his attention to the Proto, though, and offered plenty of garbled feedback in the form of flails and squeals and giggles. Come here! Want to touch! Of course he wanted something, silly.

In the hallway, Misha regarded his sister with a deep fondness, acknowledged that she was feeling a little out of the loop with a small nod, and then promptly embraced her in a comforting hug. She was almost as tall as he was now, reedier and more graceful than before, and his shoulders had set more broadly, but somehow it was still much the same as it'd always been, a simple warm soothing cuddle. For quite a while, he didn't bother saying anything, until he spoke again, words drifting on a relaxed sigh.
"...it's good to have you back, mm."

And then he promised her things would be quieter in a short while, and offered her some of the warmth he naturally radiated now, one only their kind could feel. His sibling needed to recover from her adventure, a small recharge couldn't hurt.

Aoi kept an 'eye' on his sister, but Misha was doing as much for her as anyone could, so he kept his focus on Kel, for the moment. "Well, they might look similar, but...in purpose they're almost completely the opposite. A cage traps something to protect the world from it, while a pen is meant to protect whoever's inside it from the rest of the world." He smiled, hoping the answer was sufficient, and moved to the proto's next question. "Yes, he does want something, he's curious, like you. Curious aboutyou, actually."

Elst was enjoying Josev's company in the meantime, while part of him was keeping in mind that yes, there were things in the oven, listen for the timer...
