This Harriet ghoul certainly seemed polite enough! Though Xiu had definitely been disappointed when she refused their offer. Despite being rather timid around new people, the Baku was always willing to give meeting new friends a go! After all, if she had tried to seclude herself when she first enrolled in Amityville, she sincerely doubted that she would have the friends she did now.
Xiu's expression visibly brightened as a compromise was made. "T-that would be wonderful!" She agreed, looking pleased, "We'll continue working on the carrot cake then, Bea?" She glanced towards the ghost ghoul for confirmation, and then began to mix everything again. Looking thoughtful, she glanced towards the ingredients.
"I...I suppose that we should start the icing right now as well? Cinnamon buttercream, mmm." The Baku definitely approved of Harriet's suggestion. It really would go wonderfully with the cake! As she stirred at the cake batter, Xiu let her gaze flicker briefly towards the reaper, her head tilted with interest. "S-so you're new here, Harriet? Um...how are you finding things?"

"Mmmm~!" Bea hummed with delight, "Tea, biscuits and cake does sound lovely." Harriet seemed so bright with ideas. Bea had a feeling Harriet would definitely make a great student here at the Academy. "Alright, Harriet! I'll take you up on that offer!" Bea said optimistically. She cheerfully turned to face Xiu, "Yes! Let's continue..."
Bea looked around for the ingredients and began making the icing for the carrot cake. She peered up for a moment to hear Harriet's answer to Xiu's question.

Harriet smiled behind a mop of ginger hair and she nodded ever so slightly to herself, contented with the out come. Her mother always complained Harriet made no effort to make friends but Harriet truly couldn't see a problem with the way she approached relationships with others she was so self absorbed in her own intellectual world she failed to allow others access to it. She caught the sound of the kettle clicking off and turned her attention to making herself a cup of tea. The process was natural to her, she'd done it so many time before and in a blink of an eye she had a teacup up to her lips taking a sip. She raised an eyebrow at Xiu's comment of preparing the icing before the cake was even in the oven but kept her thoughts to herself. The shy ghoul was bolstered by the more outgoing Bea whom picked up the process quickly. Harriet placed her teacup upon it's matching saucer and began to weight out and sift the flour into a bowl. She looked up from her work at the direct question from Xiu, 'Yes, I moved into my room a few days back. Just settling in at the moment really, I've been acquainting myself with the library until classes for this seasons start up.' She picked up a small round spice tin, flipped open the lid and tapped an unmeasured amount of ginger to the flour. Following that she placed the lid back onto the spice tin and put it to one side, then proceeded to place a pan on the hob with a small amount of water in the bottom and then placing a bowl on top of the pan to which she added butter, golden syrup and what looked like a large quantity of demerera sugar. She stirred it gently as it melted and every so often looked up from what she was doing to the two ghouls in front of her. She hummed softly to herself as she worked and almost as an after thought to the gap in the conversation as the three of them work she added, 'Are you both new intakes as well?'

It was a good thing that carrot cake was such a simple recipe! Before long, the Baku had the batter mixed, and it was carefully poured into a pan. "Now, we put this in for..." She checked the recipe quickly, and then popped the cake into the preheated oven. "It won't take too long, fortunately! I'll set the timer so that we don't overcook it."
Ah, so Harriet was new! When the question was turned to them, Xiu smiled and shook her head. "No. I've been here for a couple of months, but Bea..." Trailing off, she gestured towards the ghost ghoul, "She's pretty new too." Well, judging from what Bea told her, she had been here a bit longer than Harriet had. As she moved over to help make the icing, Xiu cast another smile in the direction of the reaper.
"If, um...if you have any questions or need help, you're welcome to ask! I-I mean, about school, classes..."

Xiu had gestured to Bea, "Yep, I'm a fairly new student, though I moved in about a month or so ago. Even though I'm a new student, I'm trying to go for Public Relations for Student Council, actually!" she perked up as she was stirring the frosting. "Not that I believe I would win or anything, but I believe it made a great opportunity to get to know the student body. You guys should go vote if you haven't! There are a lot of great candidates!"
Bea finished the frosting and put plastic wrap over the bowl. "Ah. Now it's time to wait for the cake!" Bea smiled warmly at Xiu, and turned to Harriet for a moment to see what she was up to.
The smell of the cake began to smell horribly delicious. "This cake is going to be so delicious with tea and biscuits!"
After the tea biscuits and cake was done, Bea and Xiu finished frosting the cake and shared it amongst the three ghouls. What a nice way to make a couple of new friends. Bea's plan to make a new friend while baking had worked and she was happily enjoying the ghouls' company.
