That was all fine and dandy, but the wiggling soon caught Deskri's attention. He stared at the egg for it with a most paranoid look before he realized, yes, it was actually shaking and he wasn't imagining it.

"oh... oh god..." He set the basket down and picked it up. "S-Sonnet it's wiggling, I didn't do anything, I swear." He tried to hold it still, but the instant he held it closer it began to shine brightly. And well... bright lights did not exactly go over well with him. And so he set it down in a most panicked fashion, but still trying not to break it.

The egg split into four even parts, like a flower, before the light began to get too bright to look at. When the light disappeared, two little toddlers were replaced by the egg.

The first of the two resembled Sonnet in appearance. She had blonde hair and blue eyes, though her hair was short and fluffed up on top in a sort of faux-hawk fashion. She looked around the room, barely acknowledging the adults in the area before crawling off towards something that had caught her eye. A sketchbook lying on a nearby pile of treasures.

Sonnet gasped from a mixture of fear and joy as Deskri proclaimed the wiggling. "It's fine Deskri I think it's hatching!" she said.

The second little toddler was also female, though looked more like her father, with light purple hair in a sort of a bob shape with a little braid to one side. She had her mother's eye color though, but were more pointed liked Deskri's. She too seemed to care little about the adults currently, and soon found a pretty book, a notebook that had been embellished with a dark blue and black leather.

Mizu had seen the look in the toddler's eyes before. She had adopted enough Metas that she knew once they had their eye on something you'd better just give it to them, so she plucked up the notebook and the sketchbook, and handed the item to the toddler that wanted it. "Here you so sweeties. A present from your Grandma"

The blonde girl tugged the sketchbook out of Mizu's hand and hugged it to her. It disappeared in another flash of bright light that Deskri was unfortunately not clever enough to see coming and so was blinded for the second time. Once her mission was complete, she looked from one adult to the other, blinking a few times. The one in front of her said she was "grandma" but she didn't really know what that meant.

Well, there they were. Thankfully it was only two of them, but he had to admit... he was a little disappointed that they didn't seem to care about their presence and instead just went for books. But he figured out why when one of them lit up like a shining beacon of hope as soon as she got her hands on her prize.

"O-okay... are we done with the flashing now that I'm blind?" Deskri rubbed at his eyes and dropped to the floor for the time being.

Sonnet had the presence of mind to closer her mind when the blonde girl grabbed the item. She was around when Cedric got his item and knew Meta's seemed to flash when something important happened. When she opened her eyes, she saw the other one hadn't taken the object, so she dipped down quickly and covered Deskri's eyes so he wouldn't permanently go blind.

The other girl stared at the book for a moment, mainly because the lady said a word she didn't understand and then got distracted by her sister. She was quick to grasp the book from the woman afterward though, and of course, another flash of light before scooting closer to her sister, confused.

Sonnet went and gently scooped up one of the children, the purple haired one, and sat her in Deskri's lap as he was already on the floor. She then sat down and placed the other child on her lap. "Hello there~" she cooed at the two, full of love as she saw the two of them. Her children...no...their children.

"S-Sonnet what are you--" Deskri stopped speaking as soon as the other girl's light seeped through Sonnet's cover on his eyes. Well... that was stupid of him. Of course they weren't done with the flashing lights. "O-oh.. th-thanks..." He blinked a few times, finding it hard to ignore the spots of brightness in his vision.

As soon as one of them was set into his lap he stiffened up a bit. This was different from an egg. This was an actual little person. "H-hello..." He did his best to put up a smile that didn't say '******** style="color: crimson">The little blonde girl didn't seem to mind being picked up too much. She did seem a little bewildered when it happened at first though. One minute she was on the ground, the next she was in someone's lap. At least this lady seemed nice. "Whurryou?" She frowned a bit. The other adult had her sister. She didn't really know the word, but she knew she was attached to the other toddler. "Whurrhe?"

Sonnet smiled at the small girl, though it did take her a moment to figure out just what she was saying. "I'm your Mama, and he's your Papa," she said, gesturing to each of them in turn. "The girl on your Papa's lap is your sister, and you two are our children," she said even though they might not understand at all.

She looked at the blonde girl in her lap intently. Deskri and she had lists of names they liked for both genders, and now it was time to pick out the one that seemed the best for these children.

"Altair," Sonnet said after a few moments. "Yes, that's your name little one. Altair."

The bob haired girl seemed quite happy in this man's lap, though she wasn't sure why. Like feeling connected with the other small girl, she felt a connection to him and to the bigger blonde lady too.

"Amam," she said looking at Sonnet, then looked at Deskri and placed one of her tiny hands on his chest. "Apap!" she declared proudly, not realizing she was saying the names backwards. The girl listened to Sonnet give her sister a name and she looked back at Deskri with big blue eyes.

"Meeeeeeeeee?" she asked, pointing to herself. She wanted to know what her name was too!

"Mama an' Papa." She repeated, and then looked to Mizu. "Gramma." She seemed to understand what Sonnet was talking about. She giggled when the purple haired girl said her words backwards, that was funny, "nuuuu mama an' papa." She shook her head at the girl.

"Uh, yes... Papa." Deskri frowned a bit. Maybe she was just getting it wrong the first time. He couldn't really blame her, she'd just hatched after all. "You're Kindle, okay?" He grinned, hopefully she'd like the name choice he'd come up with.

Kindle puffed up her checks a bit. "Dat's say!" she retorted. "Amam an' Apap!" In her own mind, it sounded like she was saying 'Mama' and 'Papa' but it was still coming out backwards, and she was confused why her sister was correcting her. She then promptly decided that it shouldn't be talked about anymore and that there needed to be something else to focus on, and seeing as she just learned her name, she was going to focus on that.

"Kiiiiiiiinnnnndllllllle" she dragged out before bursting into a fit of giggles. It was so much fun to say!

Sonnet quirked her brow at Kindle's repetition of the backwards names. That...worried her a bit, but she seemed to talk just fine for a toddler otherwise, so maybe she would outgrow it.

Altair stared at her sister for a moment longer, She was obviously not saying "mama" or "papa," but she seemed to think she was. Since it was her sister she decided not to press the matter. "Hungreeeeeeee." She whined, putting both hands on her stomach.

Deskri looked to Sonnet and shrugged a little. Like her, he figured she'd grow out of it and it was some silly toddler speaking quirk. "Well uhh... are you hungry too, Kindle?" He raised a brow. They were at Mizu's house so he couldn't really just go get a snack or something... he wondered how they'd handle the elevator ride back up to the surface....

Kindle looked at her father and then to her mother and sister. "Lil bit hungwy sey." she said with a nod before thinking of something and look a look around. "Where is we?" she asked.

Mizu smiled. "You are in my special room in my house. Now lets go up to the kitchen and get you two something to eat, shall we?"

Sonnet blinked. Sey? What did that mean? She looked at Kindle. "What did you say after 'hungry' again Kindle?"

Kindle blinked back. "Yes, hungwy yes." she said. What was with all the questions about her talking?

"I...um...must of misheard..." she said as she stood, making sure to keep a good hold on Altair.

Deskri blinked a few times. That, was not a coincidence at all. It was a little worrisome, but maybe it really was just toddler talk and she'd grow out of it. That's what he hoped, anyway. The idea of having to decode his daughter's words for the rest of his life didn't really seem appealing at all.

"Okay... we've gotta get in the elevator again." Deskri sighed. He didn't really like that thing... Since he was holding Kindle, he didn't really see an easy way to get up without putting her down, so his shadow rose up off of the floor and tugged him up to his feet from behind.

"Fuuds~!" Altair wiggled excitedly in Sonnet's arms, though stopped the instant Deskri's shadow materialized. "WHASSAT?!" She pointed at it dramatically, eyes wide.
PostPosted: Tue Jul 26, 2011 6:08 pm

Sonnet laughed a bit. "That's one of your Papa's special abilities. He can have his shadow help him when he needs it. You and your sister have special things you can do to, but we won't know what they are until something happens to show us," Sonnet explained.

Kindle blinked. "Shadows..." she mused as she looked at her father's shadow friend. "Issit like a special friends?" she asked, not really getting what Sonnet had just said.

Mizu smiled. "You, Deskri, and the kids can go up first. I'll go after you so we don't get cramped."

Deskri supposed it was like having friends. Sometimes he swore he could hear whispers coming from the darkest parts of the room, but he tried to ignore them most of the time. "Uh, yeah, I guess you could say that. Special friends that only listen to me." He grinned a bit. Well, to his knowledge. He hadn't come across another shadow-wielder yet.

[And now Altair's text changes because crimson clashes with everything. D: ]

"Me 'n Kindle kin do that?" Altair frowned a bit. Deskri had just stated that they only listened to him, which contradicted what Sonnet said. "Yu too big to fit in Gramma?" She peered over Sonnet's shoulder at the dragon lady curiously. She didn't look too big. Well, she guessed that everyone but herself and Kindle looked big compared to Papa.
PostPosted: Tue Jul 26, 2011 6:27 pm

Sonnet shook her head. "You can't do that exactly. You have your own special things you will be able to do with the present your Grandma gave you. My special present is a feather pen called a quill, so I can make wind that pushes away people who'd want to hurt me, change my wing size, and even make books that tell be about people," she explained as she began moving towards the elevator.

Kindle blinked again. "I stills confused...." she said with a slight whimper before perking up again. "Wow, that's so neats Apap! I hopes I can makes friends like you cans one day!"

Mizu couldn't help but snicker at Kindle's comment, mainly because of how anti-social Deskri was. She looked back to Altair. "It will be a tight fit with all of us in a tiny space, so I'll wait so you and the rest of your family will be more comfortable." she said.

Oh crap... she was getting the wrong impression. Deskri didn't have the heart to break it to her that he really... well, he literally had no friends outside of his own family. Moira was the last one that wasn't family, really. "Uh... sure. I'm sure you can, Kindle." He stepped into the elevator and moved over so that Sonnet and Altair had room.

"Oh. Okey. How come Papa has no wings?" Altair looked from Sonnet to Deskri, mildly confused. "An' I bets if you holded Kindle, Papa could squeeze in the corner 'cause he's smaller then yu an' Mama." A grin came to her face, and the very same instant a rather disgruntled look came to Deskri's.
