boconnotto PsychodelicPenguin C a t h a r s i s I think the mislabel is because of the magazine's title. It's like here we've got the Gothic Beauty magazine, and then people dispute "well THIS person isn't goth, they're... cybergoth/romantigoth/ect!" Sorta the same thing. Though they look fruity to me. Maybe because they wear a lot of fruit stuff, too. Yeah, I mistaked it for the book. sweatdrop Woopsie. I think another lolita don't could be the use of sexual items (such as those gag thingies..) , but maybe those are used as irony, like with the blood. Something totally opposite than the innocent clothes they wear. Taking the novel Lolita into consideration, I'm not sure that the sex-props are entirely out of context? Ah. But that's something else, entirely, to explore. Lord knows that Mana was stage molested enough to last him a lifetime. .. XDDD im sorry... that was funny ^_^

Wow...Actualy...I'd have to say that Decora is # 2 on my favorite Japanese streets styles (the first being Industrial lolita...>.>)
I absolutely love the idea of having a bajillion accessories...I don't know why, but it really attracts me...
And the bright colors are so cute. I've always loved a more sweet lolita look on me (I'd look bad in Industrial) with light greens and pinks...

I love the look too, but I don't quite have the eye for accessories and layering and mixing and matching. I'd say smoking is a lolita don't. not only is it unhealthy, it smells icky and makes you look older faster. now what lolita wants to look old? D:

D: I agree with you, i dont really have an eye for accessories and layering. @_@ Im trying though!!!!! Like yesterday I wore two pairs of stockings together. Too bad I didnt get those pink socks with the ruffles, then it really would have pulled off. Instead i got the green! gonk what do i have green to wear with cute green ruffle socks? Nothing! But that doesnt make them less cuteeeee whee

Having one of the major items[skirt, shoes, socks, top, head accesory] being completely different from the rest of the matching outfit. It isn't all that great looking, in my eyes at least. For example, having a Gothic Lolita outfit that is all black but with a pink Sweet Lolita top. I like having completely different Lolita clothing worn together in an outfit or an outfit that matches like a complete set.

Don't wear skater sneakers with your dresses.
It look odd.
...I did that a couple times before I actually owned a good pair of dress shoes... XD
What happens: "Are those shoes part of the style?" "...No. DDDD:"

Well, thankfully know one seemed to really care. Everyone was noticing and loving the dress to care that I was wearing my worn out vans with it. XD

XD xd That would be a good tip for everyone. heart I always thought of dressing casual lolita with mine... but with legwarmers. I think without them skirts and dresses just kind of looks weird when you wear sneakers. :/

Personally I think that sneakers (and legwarmers, too) only look good with punk loli. With Sweet or Gothic.. um, just.. no. It is not a very pleasant image.
I also cringe when people wear dark shoes with white / pastel outfits.. it looks bad. I am guilty of it myself, though... but I try to avoid doing it like plague.

It does look kind of tacky, unless they have dark colors in with it.. if not, don't wear black shoes with an all white outfit!

What happens: "Are those shoes part of the style?" "...No. DDDD:" I sometimes wear bike/track shoes with my skirts. It's not so bad, though, since I have legwarmers and stockings that make it all sporty and such. I really need to mess with that Sporty Loli idea I had a while back. XD
I have the perfect skirt and top, now.
