The German Shepard followed Aurora after realizing it was going to be a bit before he got food, and put his head in her lap after she sat down looking up at her.
Azzo on the other hand watched her, "No it's not wrong, it's just not fair that you're lying to me." His honey brown eye were cold as he finally walked over and sat his bag out of the way pulling out a bag of food for Merlin and his food bowl, it seemed Aurora already had water taken care of. He emptied the small bag and sat it on the floor beside the water and called the dog over.
"You know I'm not other guys Aurora." He retorted, "Unless you'd rather I go find Castor and get some lessons in his style of 'love'."

Her hand found Merlin's head briefly, offering him a gentle pat before he wandered away by lure of food. The cold words that sounded were quick, ripping through her like Sassolite's arrows.
Her fingers trembled, digging into clinging handfuls of the long fabric of her dress as tears shimmered at the corners of her eyes. Did she deserve the cutting words? Perhaps..
She was after all trying to intice him to stay the night. And had even thought of attempting to try and turn on the charm if nothing else had convinced him.
Virgin girl. One who had only been kissed twice in her whole lifetime. One who had only had one boyfriend in her lifetime..a boyfriend that had done nothing more than hold her hand and give her chaste kisses to the forehead. And now she was being accused of being a hussy.. was cringing as if the accusations were true. As if by waiting him to stay it was just as bad as doing the sort of things that Castor joked of.
"Why did you even come back then if you feel that way? Just to be cruel?" Her fingers flexed and pulled at the fabric unhappily.
"All I wanted was to have you here.. without worrying you" The final words were so quiet he might not have even heard them as she turned away from him, curling up lightly amid the cushions.
How quickly it had gone from wanting him there so badly.. to wanting him gone more than anything else. Before he could say anything else that would strike her to the core.

Azzo rolled his eyes, moving from the food bowl over to Aurora, leaning on the couch, "I don't like you lying to me." He said with a frown, "If there's something bothering you, you should tell me instead of hiding it."
He sighed, "The only reason I feel that way is because you are lying. You're acting weird again and I don't like it when you do that." He reached down to run his fingers over her arm lightly, "I know I'm not always the sharpest tool in the shed but at least give me something to work with here Aurora. Otherwise I'll end up thinking that you feel like you can't trust me..." His chin was rested on the back of the couch as his honey brown eyes watched her.

She shivered a little at his touch, her body stiffening to the attempt at affection. His words and concerns.. they were valid enough. But it didn't make it hurt any less.
It had never had anything to with trust. Even after everything that had happened Aurora trusted Azzo with anything and everything. Secrets she wouldn't tell anyone. Even her life. She trusted when she went out with him he'd bring her back safely, no matter what.
Things had turned so badly it hardly seemed even worth it to keep the truth from him. Maybe it would even been the final nail in the coffin of what was a short as hell relationship. She was just so exhausted.. to exhausted to even cry properly, instead just burying herself into the couch in shame and pain.
"I just wanted you here.. Here without worrying. Or thinking I'm crazy" Which she probably was.. she was growing more and more sure of it by the second.
"I can't take whatever it is that's here in my home with me. I can't sleep. I'm just so tired.. so scared. So scared of.. something? Of maybe nothing?"
Really it couldn't get any worse then it was, so the words spilled from her lips like a waterfall.
"Please just go.." It was the first of the words that left her mouth with any real clarity in them. The only words minus the fear and stumbling of her shivering and worried voice.

Azzo paused, looking at her and sighed he was exhausted too but through the years he'd learned to... oddly work past it.... He stood there quietly, not moving even when she told him to leave.
"Nope." He finally said after a few minutes and sighed, moving around to the front of the couch. "My house has been doing the same thing, I finally wrote it off as it's settling 'cause it's freaking old." He sat on the floor near her.
"Your in a new apartment, a new environment, you have no friends, no family near by. I doubt you've had time to really meet and make friends with your neighbors." He looked towards the TV. "I'm staying, Crazy or not you're still my girlfriend."
He could be stubborn and she could hate him for it as much as she wanted to. "If you're afraid, and there's valid enough reasons to start with, I don't think i need to list them... I'm staying until you feel comfortable or I'll drag you back to my place and you can sleep in the guest bedroom it's probably not as cozy but it wouldn't be as scary..." He reached for the TV remote and turned it on putting the volume on mute as he flipped through looking for the cooking show grams always watched. "You like cooking shows?" He asked.

All she had wanted was to sleep for a night. And in her head she'd pictured it. Accidentally falling asleep in his lap while the watched a movie. Or actually curling up in his arms, sheltered from all the noises and worry just by his pressence there. But if Aurora had learned anything as of late it was that things didn't always go as she wanted or imagined.
His words though.. as he settled in on the floor in front of the couch. It wasn't what she had expected, but it didn't mean she wouldn't accept them. It was the same set of words she'd tried to convince herself with over and over again but somehow coming from them gave them a little more worth.
Perhaps she was just worrying to much and it was a temperature thing that was causing the homes to creak and crack.
I'm staying, crazy or not
It wasn't what she'd expected. But it was enough.
She uncurled just a little, shifting until one of her legs rested lightly against his side, her finger reaching out towards him though she was too far away to actually touch.
"Mhmm.. but whatever you want is fine." She wasn't actually watching the tv, still looking towards the couch in a sleepy sulk.

Azzo placed a hand on her leg softly patting it for a moment before leaving on the food channel, cake wars was on. "You do realize..." He said softly looking towards her, "... how long I felt like I was going crazy right?"
Merlin had finished his food and went to lay on the floor so he could see the TV too, laying closer to Aurora in reach of her hands. Azzo watched the dog, "You don't have to accept that though... it's a new place. New things tend to creep people out 'cause it's not something they're use to."
He stretched, "It'd be like sleeping in my room and waking up 'cause of a noise the house made and seeing all those puppets hanging from the ceiling." He tried not to yawn as he watched whatever they were going to do to make the cake.

That was right... In all her worry and frusteration she'd forgotten that Azzo might have been one of the few people that could truly relate. Someone that would have likely given her the benefit of the doubt had she just brought it up.
He had become a knight in what seemed only like a blink of the eye.. but still it seemed so much had changed. Her thoughts went back to the night not long when he'd spoke of organ rings.. and talking cats.
It was enough to bring her eyes away from the couch and onto him, a soft sad frown settled on her tired face. "I'm sorry I went about this the wrong way..."
Her hand reached out as Merlin returned, scratching the top of his head mildly as she listened. The thought of waking up scared and seeing the dark silloutte of puppets dangling from the room was indeed a horrifying thought. And that drew the slightest hints of a smile to her lips before it melted once more into her somberness.

Azzo nodded softly, "It's alright, just don't try to hide things from me." He said glancing over to Aurora, with a frown, "If you want me over for a reason tell me; it's okay to want me over whenever... I'd just like to know the real reason."
He looked at her, "Do you want to go to bed?" He asked curiously wondering if she was as tired as Merlin seemed to be. Who was now enjoying getting the top of his head scratched.

"I promise" She offered in soft agreement, giving a slight nod of her head. They always said honesty was the best policy, her pride had just let it slip her mind.
Did she want to go to bed? Yes.. she was exhausted from days with little sleep.. exhausted from the fact that all of their 'dates' seemed to end in tears. But if she said yes... would he just watch her walk off to bed and leave her alone again? Even if alone was really just in the next room.
"No..." She answered finally, shifting to rest her cheek on the arm that was reached out for Merlin. "I'd like to stay here just a little bit longer"
"Do you need more blankets and pillows than this?" She had some unpacked somewhere.. in a linen closet near the bathroom she thought.

Azzo watched as she promised "Good." He said with a nod, as he looked back at the TV, the cake looked like a football field, his brow lofted thinking that was a huge cake.
"Okay," He said softly when she finally said she wanted to stay a little bit longer.
He was looking at the pillows and blankets on the couch before shaking his head, "No, that should be fine." He answered softly thinking there were probably more than enough on the couch already.

"Alright" She nodded. It was a warm enough night that one probably didn't bury themselves under blankets anyway. And she wondered softly if her couch would turn out to be comfortable enough, because truthfully she'd bought it caring about the look more than the comfort. Aurora after all didn't have many people crash on her couch.
As the time passed she was barely watching the tv, only glancing now and then with half interest. It was impressive true enough, but her attention was elsewhere. She'd watch Azzo for a moment.. and then Merlin. Her eyes would turn towards the windows cautiously too, as if waiting for whatever it was that had been tormenting her over the past week or so.
Mostly though she was just trying to keep her eyelids from drooping, blinking over and over to try and stay awake. It was a battle she was very quickly losing.

Azzo stayed there till the show eventually went off before looking at Aurora, who seemed to be ready to fall asleep, "Come on sleepy head." He said as he offered his hand to help her up. "I think it's time for you to get some sleep."
He'd pick her up if he had to, but he was going to give her a chance to walk on her own, Merlin scrabbled up tail wagging when Azzo stood up. He looked like he wanted to play or maybe invade someone's sleeping space. Little did Azzo know that probably meant the couch he was suppose to crash on.

A wide yawn escaped her as he tried to get her attention, and she had to exert all her focus into making sure she covered her mouth in a polite and ladylike way. She didn't bother fighting him though, taking the offered hand before she pulled herself up.
She rubbed her eyes as she let herself be led towards her bedroom, one a handful of rooms that were fully unpacked. Sadly for Azzo the guestroom was not one of those rooms. She'd not even had the chance to furnish it yet considering she didn't have the extra furniture and with most of her free money going towards a certain secret event.
When they arrived she sat down on the familiar and girly canopy bed, slowly and tiredly lifting her hands up to her hair to slowly began to unfurl ivory braids. "Good night" She offered softly after a moment, a hint of gratefulness in her voice.

Azzo seemed not to mind that he had to crash on the couch, there could be worse things, he watched her undo her braids. There were a lot of braids to undo, however he wasn't good at hair.
He nodded, "Night." He said softly, "If you need me, you know i'll be on the couch." He gave her cheek a small kiss before heading out to find Merlin already a sleep on the couch.
"Merlin!" Oh this was great, it was one of the few times he couldn't actually get the dog to listen because he was already out of it. "Merlin that's not a place for you to sleep. Get down." The boy crossed his arms looking at the dog, yeah unless he actually tried to push Merlin off the couch there was no way this would work. Oh well, Azzo sighed and sat down on what little bit of a free spot there was left. "Oh well.." He sighed.
