Jove jumped dramatically as Yaya touched his shoulder, but then snorted as if to say "Jack no! I'm not nervous!" He yawned again anyway, and made a show of not looking interested in the water until Bul waded in, followed by most of the others.
His fluffy ears betrayed his close attention. Seeing as none of them were getting eaten by things, it was probably okay for him too. The little ghostling wiggled out of his sweater and pants, and although he hadn't specifically dressed for swimming when he came out, the white t-shirt and dark shorts he wore would do the job just fine. Even though Yaya was there and might possibly disapprove, he wasn't going to take off his shirt and reveal his dark bruises to the other students.
Not one to be outdone, Jove took a running leap and splashed into the pond in a very doggy manner, and paddled out to where Levi was. He churned up the water with his arms a bit before he remembered what Yaya taught him about treading water, and more importantly, swimming smoothly without splashing around in a doggy paddle.
See, he wasn't nervous at all!

The djinn did her best not to giggle as Jove jumped at her touch. It had not been the desired result, but it was amusing all the same. "Go show him how it's done," she purred at the pup before releasing him so he could remove his sweater and pants before sprinting at the water to make a wild leap. It might not have been obvious to anyone but her, but she knew a time when the pup would have never done something so bold with the water. It made her grin, whooping in pride as she bounced on the balls of her feet.
Yaya was seldom right on time, so when the half-beast assured her of such she gave him a surprised look. "What a coincidence." She'd been quiet during his admission, smiling benignly even if mirth was glittering in her eyes. She'd never seen Bul unsettled, but she had to admit the prospect was inviting.
As he asked for a collective opinion on what to do first the ghoul stepped forward toward the edge of the water. Pulling her dress over her head and draping it over a bush before wading in up t her knees just past Bul's side. "Mot's right, you should wade in slowly to acclimate yourself to the water. If you jump in it'll just make you panic." A stern look was turned to Jericho, but the effect was somewhat lost with the smile that she couldn't quite force away.
"Starting slow and easy is usually best," she carried on after a moment. Dark hands coming to rest on her hips. Falling right back into the mood of instruction she'd taken when teaching Junko, Jove, and 'Saja how to swim before their fated boat trip to the island.

Woah woah WOAH! Mot shielded himself from the oncoming wave of water caused by Jericho's big splash. He laughed and gave the other boil a thumbs up. "You have the advantage when it comes to high dives." Must be nice to have wings!
It seemed Jericho had started a trend, as Levi made quite the entrance herself. Soon, they were all in the water. "Yeah, what she said. Let's see how far you can get on your own."

"Wait what Don't jump-"
Too Late.
Bul was stricken by Mot's warning and stumbled, his body smacking into the water as he tripped over a snagging branch of bog tree under the murky water. Pushing himself up, the boil was COVERED in dark mud, slowly dripping off of him as he frowned upset. Jericho came running and leaping over him splashing him with the cannon ball and drenching Bul- at least it cleaned off a lot of the mud... or just made it worse.
Everyone was flying in like pros. If he tried to run and jump he'd p***y the ******** out. Levi's words were almost.. just almost reassuring but he looked and examined how deep the water got on the rest of them. "Okay I'll uh.."
o________o
O_____________O
Slowly he waded deeper, the water's line climbing up his body at a remarkably painful pace. "Oh guys oh guys this...." Reaching a deeper level he gulped and stopped hugging himself to let his arms float through the water to the surface. "H.. Hows that??"

Jove paddled closer to Bul, making a serious effort to swim without lifting his arms from the water and splash the worried boil. He could see why the monster was nervous, the pup couldn't even touch the ground where Bul was standing. It was pretty deep...
He paddled in a slow circle around the boil, and settled in to tread water on the side most opposite where the reaper, Mot, was swimming. Unlike the others who were giving advice, the ghostling remained silent. Maybe it was natural for him as a foxfire to offer support rather than advice.
It was also natural for him to want to drift over and cling to Bul, but he managed to suppress that desire.

"Wait-!" Too late. Before she could even reach an arm out to catch hold of Bul the boil had stumbled forward and done an impressive face plant in the sticky mud within the shallows that lined the bank. She had to resist the serious urge to facepalm as she took a step closer to the grim covered boil. "A little restraint if you please? I'd like to not have to fish you out of the deep end today." It was meant to be a joke, but there was a certain thread of seriousness to the suggestion.
She kept to Bul's side as he waded deeper. A dark and reassuring shadow. In the event something did happen she wanted to be close enough to grab him. Yes, it painted her as the over protective mother sort, but she didn't care. She was proud of his desire to learn to swim, and she'd really like it to go well.
As Jove paddled up along side them she laughed softly, reaching out catch his tail as it flowed out behind him. Reeling him in so she could curl her arms around his middle. "You've been practicing since we got home, haven't you? You're doing a lot better."
With a glance to her side the ghoul moved past the half-beast until the water was up to her chin, swinging Jove around so he could either hold onto her shoulders to keep his head up or swim off on his own. "Walk in until you've got enough room to kick your feet without brushing the bottom every time. Then you can learn to tread water. Possibly the most important thing you should know when dealing with swimming."

Being submerged for a little bit, it wasn't too long before the dragon's head could be seen poking out of the water. The water really wasn't all that cold, which was a plus. Grinning, he stared over as the others either jumped or climbed into the pond as well.
Moreso, he was watching Bul specifically since he was the one that needed the help here. He looked hesitant, but he supposed he couldn't blame the guy if he wasn't too confident in his abilities to swim.
"Well it's a start," the dragon said while making his way over. He glanced briefly at the others while thinking, "I guess we better figure out how to get you floating first. Um... I guess... uh.. take my hands and try to float the rest of your body up? Kicking a little maybe?"
Oh he hoped this wouldn't go horrendously wrong. Even so, he had his hands out before him.

The pup splashed a bit as he was grabbed by the tail and reeled in, his head getting dunked underwater in the process. It spoke volumes for his comfort in the water that he didn't panic completely, and only gave Yaya a quick frown before wagging his tail at the praise. Maybe he could ignore the way his fluffy ears drooped and his fluffy hair instead plastered itself to his face.
He rubbed his bangs out of his face and let himself drift behind the djinn, holding onto her shoulder and glancing between Bul and Jericho with a curious expression. Jericho was taking a different approach to learning to float, when Jove had first done it he had been told to take a deep breath and stretch out...
At the thought of breathing the pup began to cough quite violently, suddenly dislodging all the swampy water he accidentally inhaled with his head under the water.

Everyone seemed to have a good handle on the water minus the obvious half beast being hesistant. But he was willing! Truly, he was to be commended ... his face said he didn't want to do it, but he forced himself regardless. Atta boil... Levi sort of gave a little clap as Bul came in deeper. Levi fully agreed with the intentions of Yaya and Jericho. If he was going to swim, he had to float and be able to keep himself up first.
Jericho offered to take Bul for a whirl, so Levi treaded and observed his progress. Dun be shy- give that water a good kickin'! Ain't gotta raise 'em up 'bove much, but yer legs n' tail will help ya stay up best in tha water! So kick 'it up! She rose a fist to the air as she said this to encourage Bul. This would be like a battle! It was Bul against the water.
She heard coughing and noticed Jove spitting out some water in a pretty rough way. Wadding over to him, tail swaying like a propeller back and forth, she rubbed a hand on his back in a circular motion to ease him up. Yaya seemed to have a good handle on staying afloat, so Levi wasn't concerned about Jove falling anytime soon as he clung to the djinn. S'alright, Jove. Just 'bit 'a water. Git it all out thar. The tatzel just wanted to settle his coughing while keeping an attentive eye on Bul's progress with Jericho. She was certain the pup just went through a sudden spell.

This was it. Jove was circling him like the HUNGRY SHARK he was. There was no doubt in Bul's mind that he would be dogfood by the end of this swimming venture.
"Treading... right treading okay.." Bul slowly began to fan his legs, his tail squirming but actually providing good floatation for the rest of his body. "Like.. this?" He asked and treaded his way towards Jericho who'd offered his hands. Uttering a small "no homo" with a glare, the boil took hold of the dragon's hands to continue bobbing through the water.
It was easier to float hanging on to someone.. but equally as dangerous considering the half beast was ready to yank whomever was his support down with him if he started to flounder.
"Guys... guys Im treading.. IM TREADING YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

Jericho just gave a terse nod to Bul's glare, agreeing that this was indeed 'no homo'. He took a hold and stayed firm so that he wouldn't end up sinking as a result. Carefully, he kept an eye on the lizard's movements to make sure he was doing more or less the right thing.
He definitely was treading, which was always a good start.
"Nice Bul! Keep it up," he offered.

Treading was good, Bul didn't have a problem with it but once he knew he was very far from the bottom he couldn't help but struggle a bit. He wanted to let go of Jericho's hands so that he could start trying on his own but at the same time he instinctively clung tighter. Until finally-
((rolling 1,2=cant tread on own, starts flailing, 3,4=treads on own))
Bul let go of the dragon's hands and hobbled frantically in the water for a second or two until he realized he and his head was still above water and his body wasn't giving out in exhaustion. That was the first step, first step accomplished!
"Guys look LOOK!"

Thre was a lot of hesitation and discomfort, but Bul managed to tread water on his own. "Yeehaw! Way to go, Bul! You're a natural at this." He clapped his hands, his feet still touching the bottom where he was.
Mot turned his head to see what the ghost pup was up to. Choking on water, apparently. He had help from a couple ghouls, so all was well. Still, he smirked, finding it amusing the ghost was avoiding him. The reaper shifted closer to the trio, just to see what he would do.

"Now what do I do??" Bul asked in a sudden panic, feeling the weight of his body drag him down unless he took deep breaths and continued to try and tread. So long as his head didn't have to go underwater the monster would be safe to continue floating in the water. Eventually though it would have to go in and he didn't know whether he could see underwater or not considering any time he spent down there he was splashing like a psycho.
"Guys what do I do now? I don't have to go under yet do I? Do... I?" Bul looked as frightened as he was when he'd first gotten into the water. With a shakey hand he tried to show that he could swim just fine by treading but as he moved forwards he began to bob a little bit in the water.
UH OH.
The first thing the half beast could think of was to writhe a little and it tugged him under the surface of the bog. He had to move his legs like treading in order to get up but forgetting not to swallow water. He resurfaced again momentarily gasping for air and coughing and trying to regain the floating position he was in prior to momentarily sinking.
"I moved under water.. but I... -cough-" Spitting up some water he frowned unpleasantly. "Hnngh... hard to breathe.. I don't think I can breathe underwater like some monsters can.."

Mot turned as the half beast looked like he was about to drown. Well s**t. He was panicking. Mot swam over, reaching the boil in time as he seemed to regain some composure. Mot treaded water beside Bul, in case he went under again. "Yeah, don't breathe under water. Trying plugging your nose and holding your breath." It seemed like something obvious, yet Bul seemed either too panicked to think straight or simply was testing his lizard like abilities.
"When you're swimming, kick your feet up and down, and sweep the water away with your arms. Give it a shot, under or above the water." Mot swam back a bit to give Bul some room. "You can do this, partner! Just keep calm."
