Tashi had always wanted a family. She couldn't remember anything of her parents or what it was even like to have a family. Taoshira thought over everything, including what she thought it would be like to have a family. She allowed herself only a moment of wishful thinking before turning back to their conversation. Voreti's deal sounded decent so she nodded her head. "Deal." She said as she took a few nervous steps towards her.

Voreti grinned. It would be an amusing few days; she didn't think it would take longer than that to find someone to adopt the cute foal. The mare turned and started out slowly. She checked back over her shoulder to be sure the foal was coming along. How strange it felt to be looking after someone instead of something. She glanced at her forest, and hoped Tashi would understand when she had to head to patrol. Give those nosey azrein an inch and they'd walk all over her forest.

Tashi followed the mare. What a funny sight it was, a tall proud mare being followed by a tiny blue filly who had to take two to three steps for each of Voreti's one. All of Voreti's glances at the forest made Tashi nervous. What could she be looking for? Maybe she heard a trespasser like herself. Tashi started listening as hard as she could, but couldn't hear anything abnormal. "Is everything ok Voreti?" she asked worriedly.

Voreti chuckled at the worried question from the foal. "Everything is alright. Look to your right. If you look real close you can see a bluebird in the thicket." The mare knew from experience getting to close would make the bird call out. It was just natural for her to check on her surroundings as she moved.

Tashi looked where she was told and sure enough, there was a bluebird. Her footsteps slowed as she stared at the bird's beautiful color. Then, she noticed how far she had fallen behind and ran to catch up when her hoof slipped on some loose rock and she did a somersault. Tashi picked herself up quickly, hoping Voreti didn't see. "Why do I have to be so clumsy..." she asked herself quietly.

Voreti heard a thud behind her and looked back to see the foal lying on the ground. She gave a soft chuckle as Tashi picked herself up and muttered. "It's just a phase you'll grow out of. I can teach you how to move silently no matter what you're walking through." The mare twitched her tail with confidence.

"Oh really? Could you? Would you?" Tashi asked in a blur. She was so tired of always being so clumsy. No matter what kind of terrain she was going through, she could always find something to trip over even if it was her own hoofs!! It would be such a relief if she could learn to move through any kind of terrain without having to watch her footing so much.

The mare chuckled at the eagerness in the foal's fast reply. "It wont be easy. It can take years to master. Plus it'll be easier once you've grown out of that gangly age . We all go through it." She walked forwarda few steps then stopped again. "Why don't we start now? Look ahead of you. Where are you going to put your front hoof? How about your back? What is in the immediate area that can make noise?"

Tashi looked down at her "gangly" legs...yup, they're gangly, she thought. Then she thought about her challenge: well there is those twigs up there...and those rocks. "Hmm ok. So first I have to be aware of my surroundings." She said as she looked around. "That's easier said than done..." She muttered. "Next I need to watch each and every footstep. But wouldn't that make moving slow?" She asked.

"Surroundings and how you fit into them. It's not just them." She looked back at the foal. "It's alright. Like I said, it'll take time to master. You start now it'll be easier than starting later. It can at first Tashi, but as it becomes second nature you don't think about it. You just do." She eeled around some branches barely disturbing them.

Tashi's brows furrowed as she tried to copy the mare's movements. Needless to say she didnt even come close. Next to Voreti, each of Tashi's moves seemed to echo through the forest. "It wil to take a long time for me to learn how. But it'll be worth it." She said with a smile.

Voreti waited for the foal to catch up to her and then gave her a soft nudge. "It certainly will. C'mon my home is just around the corner." She moved off down the path again. It didn't take too much time before the domed structure of trees came into view. The 'house' took up most of the clearing, grass and flowering plants the rest.

When they reached the clearung, Tashi stood there gawking at Voreti's home. Just the outside by itself was beautiful and she couldnt imagine the inside being any different. "It's so beautiful.." Tashi said in awe.

Voreti stopped and took a moment to look at her home. The scent of roses wafted pass; bright green grass glowed in the beams of sunlight. She loved her peaceful home. "Just because I live alone in the forest doesn't mean I sleep on a pile of moss." The mare paused and tilted her head. "Well actually I do, but probably not like your thinking. We'll have to gather you some too."

"I didn't think anything like that Voreti. It just kind of surprised me that something this beautiful could be hidden in this forest. I thought it was just hiding apples." Tashi said cutely. She looked around some more, taking in all the little detail.
