"That's not to far from here.." Christopher said, looking to where Xander had pointed on the map. "Looks like the pet store is almost at the other end though.." he said, pointing to a spot on the other end of the map.

"Well I guess I need the exercise anyways..." Xander took a step forward, glancing back at Christopher over his shoulder. "Would you... like to hang out? I know I might not be too much fun but... we could go to the food court and get some Chinese food later?"

"Sure" Christopher said with a smile "I wasn't really planning on doing anything but wander around anyway.." he moved foward to walk along with Xander, as he spoke.

A grin broke over the silver haired boy's face when Christopher agreed and he started going towards the leather shop, nearly tripping over himself as he tried to walk and talk to Chris at the same time.
"I'm glad you're joining me, I feel a bit out of place just going around here by myself. I keep getting the feeling that people are staring at me..."

Xander's eyes widened and he blushed slightly, turning his gaze to the ground. He rubbed the inside of his wrist out of habit and stuttered to respond.
"Th...thank you."
The boy brought his hand up, brushing a few strands of hair behind his pierced ear. He really didn't expect such a complement and he hoped that he didn't seem to rude that he couldn't think of something intellegent to respond with for the first few moments.
"Um... so... have you... read any good books lately?"

"I've been reading a lot of Poe lately..." Chris said with a nod "I'm sorry for that comment a minute ago... I didn't mean to embarass you... I really ought to learn to keep some things to myself..."

"No no it's okay, I just didn't expect it. No one's ever told me that before." Xander smiled and looked at the floor, glancing up occasionally to make sure he wasn't about to dart past the leather shop. "I've never read any of Poe, I usually have to read stuff out of the library and the ones I've found don't carry his work. Is... is all his work in verse format like 'The Raven?'"

Xander blinked in surprise at Chris's candidness and willingness to be friendly. He probably could have been knocked over with a feather at that point...
"I... I would like that... I don't have many books myself but you're welcome to borrow any of mine. My collections kinda small and rather simple. A few Tolkien and a few RA Salvator."

"I love Tolkien, I have copies of nearly all of his works..." Christopher said with a smile. He stopped short as he realized that they'd nearly walked past the leather shop. "We nearly missed it.." he said as he moved toward the door.

Xander stopped abruptly and looked up at the leather shop's entrance. It wasn't nearly as bad as he expected. When he'd been told to pick up leathers he had thought immedietly of whips and chains, but apparently this store also took care of tack and bridal. He swallowed and took the list out of his pocket before making his way in. He tried to ignore the slightly risque leathers that hung from the walls and made his way to the counter.
"Excuse me, I need to pick some things up..." Xander spoke softly.
The girl at the counter looked from Xander to Chris and gushed over them, a beaming smile on her face. "Well aren't you two just so cute! Don't worry we're very confidential here. Anything you boys need will remain private of course." She said with a lewd wink.

Christopher couldn't help but laugh upon hearing the girl behind the counter. "I don't think there's any need for confidentiality... Xander here just needs to pick up some things for a friend..." he placed a hand on Xander's shoulder as he stood beside him at the counter.

The girl at the counter only smiled at this and winked at them. "A friend, I get it. No worries hon, no one's gonna poke fun at you here. Or if they do it's all in good fun and you're welcome to poke back."
"I certainly have no intentions of poking anything..." Xander replied softly, averting his eyes.
This only made the woman laugh harder and poor Xander wondered just what she was on and where he could find some. Perhaps this was just how she was naturally? Good lord he'd hate to see her on a sugar high. Clearing his throat he took out the small list and passed it over to her.
"If I could have these few things it would be greatly appreciated."
Finally looking at least a bit serious the woman gently took the note from him and smiled broadly. "You're from the Caravan of Souls! Yeah we've been waiting for you, the stuffs in back, let me go grab it for you sugar."

"Well she's quite the intreasting character isn't she..." Christopher said with a bit of a laugh as the girl wandered off to the back of the shop. He shifted to lean back against the counter as they waited for her to return.
