That was terrible. Edel felt a wave of cold air sweep past her at the crowd stared at her in awkward silence after the song ended. Maybe there was the sound of awkward clapping coming from somewhere. Take a bow, she told herself, and get off stage. So she did, trying to ignore the pairs of eyes that followed her as she moved across the stage to the curtains. Handing over the mic back to Desu Chan, she braced herself for her verdict.

More silence. Edel got the painfully obvious hint, bowing and politely thanking them as she left. Quickly.
Heat rushed to her face as she tried ninja-ing across the grounds to avoid the crowd. She hoped no one had taken a recording of that.

Ulmuka wasn't much of a singer but he was a bird so he thought, maybe somewhere deep inside, he could channel his inner songbird for a brief competition. Even though his friend Edel had gone and done awfully he clapped for her anyway.
He dropped a seed for payment and shuffled up onto the stage. The strix looked awkward, clutching the microphone close to his chest and shuffling into the light sideways. The music started, a sort of a march tune.
Do you hear the floresce sing? Singing a song of angry fish? It is the music of a species Who will not be food again! When the beating of the waves Echoes the beating of your fins There is a life about to start When floresce wiiiiins!

Ulmuka's song wasn't too bad. In fact he heard a smattering of applause.. sort of.
With a huge grin he took a bow, wings and arms out with a flourish.

The strix looked as the displeased judges gave his singing a very lame score. It wasn't awful but it wasn't enough to get him a prize.
Perhaps they just didn't have the right ear for an owl's beautiful screeching. He shuffled sideways off the stage and sunk back into the crowd of the festival. Embarrassment wasn't something he felt generally but he hoped none of his friends had caught that performance, just the same.

Mo couldn't believe that she was actually getting up on a stage and signing. This festival was giving her a bit of courage she was determined now well kind of. She took a deep breathe looking at Desu-chan and then the song list she could sing. She gave up her seed and picked out her song taking a deep breathe.
"Now or never girl" she mumbled to herself as she walked on the stage the music began to play. She couldn't speak at first she turned away and turned back after a short while. Taking a deep breathe she began her voice was soft and very soothing.
All those days watching from the shores All those years they swam before me All that time never even knowing Just how blind I've been Now I'm here, listening for floresce Now I'm here, their fins dance in the darkness Standing here, it's all so clear I will remember their colors
And at last I see their light And a dance for the water And at last I see there dance And it's like the river is new And it's warm and real and bright And the floresce will be remembered.

Mo's song wasn't bad but it was good just somewhere in the middle. Mo could here some applause and maybe there was a bit of cheer but that could be mostly in here head trying to boost her own ego.

Mo got off the stage letting out a sigh of relief she was happy she did it on some level. She wasn't all that surprised that her song didn't go over all to well but it got something.Even though she didn't get anything she felt it was worth the experience and she might do it again.

Cuinn stared at Desu-chan’s singing booth for a good long minute, his jaw slack with horror.
Singing. This booth was dedicated to singing. Singing singing singing. Of all the things Cuinn was bad at, singing had to be at the top of the list. The dog’s first instinct upon reading the rules of this game was to turn and run. After all, he was pretty much doomed to failure. However, his pride kept him cemented in place. He had promised himself he would conquer every single challenge this festival threw at him. It would be shameful to skip over this one simply because he found it… unpleasant.
After listening to Mo sing, Cuinn applauded politely. Then, he warily approached Desu (he was slightly scared of the energetic Trick or Treater) and offered her a seed. Swallowing his dignity, he donned a microphone and grudgingly made his way to the stage. Hopefully he would not forget the lyrics to his tune.
How much is that doggie oh god sorry I meant floresce in the fish tank? (arf! arf!) The one with the beautiful tail How much is that floresce in the fish tank? (arf! arf!) I do hope that floresce's for sale
I must take a trip from Halloween Town And leave my poor sweetheart alone If he has a floresce, he won't be lonesome Its beauty will light up our home
How much is that floresce in the fish tank? (arf! arf!) The one with the beautiful tail How much is that floresce in the fish tank? (arf! arf!) I do hope that floresce's for sale
Clearly Cuinn got his words a liiiiiittle mixed up.

Cuinn had been completely nervous throughout the song. Nothing about his performance had been the slightest bit convincing or enthusiastic. He messed up the words, stood dead still the entire performance, and even ended up howling a bit here and there. The second the music stopped, the dog eagerly fled the stage, his ears flattened and his tail between his legs. The entire experience left the cu sith completely humiliated and mortified.
Somehow, by some strange twist of fate, the judges liked it. Maybe they thought the song choice was extremely appropriate. Maybe the howling actually added to the performance, adding emphasis at key musical parts. Maybe they thought that Cuinn’s shy demeanor was cute and intentional. He was singing a children’s song, after all.
Cuinn was absolutely shocked when he received applause for his singing. He was even more flabbergasted when they showed him his score.

Cuinn's score was the highest of anyone yet. The judges were very pleased. He had undoubtedly won a top tier prize. .............What in Jack's name just happened?
The dog remained absolutely speechless and frozen for a full three minutes. He had never fancied himself much of a singer. From his perspective, the entire experience had been a waking nightmare. Most other boils in this situation would probably be ecstatic right now, but the only thing Cuinn was feeling was shock.
Perhaps... perhaps he really was a decent vocalist. Perhaps he should try to take some music lessons. Maybe he could make a career of this?
Nah. Cuinn decided that the only explanation for his success was that he was so horrible that the judges took pity on him. That made much more sense. Oh well! Pity or not, he was happy to take a free minipet.

Hearing a bit of commotion, Jericho made his way over to the stage, watching for the moment to see what was going on. It looked like people were getting up to do some singing. Well, normally that wouldn't interest the dragon but he soon realized there were prizes to be had here.
Rubbing his chin, he thought it over briefly before deciding to give it a shot.
Taking in a deep breath, he walked on up to the stage and grabbed the mic.
"We break our enemies with FEAR and We see how their tears come around We build our confidence on wastelands We've seen how the walls come down!
LIFE BURNS
A man dies like a butterfly Life burns at the touch of a REAPER How all things must paasss. One love is a crooked lie The world lies in the hands of evil We pray it will last!"

While he knew the words, Jericho wasn't quite putting it into the song like he had at Scarentines. The judges were not too pleased with his performance at all.
Hmm.... perhaps he should try again a little later.

Sin was nervous she wasn't too sure about singing, not that she hadn't sung before it had just been quite a while. Not to mention her voice wasn't exactly in tip top shape. Still she walked up onto the stage after paying her seed and took a deep breath.
What makes a floresce special? I suppose it all depends It's what's unique in each of them That they all share as minipets
The difference is their differences Maybe small or great Variety adds spice to life So we should celebrate
The Floresces Floresces You're you, I'm me Together we Can love the floresces
If there was only one mini How boring life would be I'm glad there are so many pets In many different rarities
