She sped up just a little bit feeling him getting closer and closer. The mare flicked her ears backward as if listening to him. Then she felt the tug on her tail and the feel of him speeding past her. Taking in her breath - his scent - she then drove forward. For all the weight on her body, Nailiah was surprisingly fast. She leaped over the fallen trees and dove through the brush. Nailiah's mane and tail flicked and waved behind her. She'd probably gotten some leaves and twigs and snags, but those could always come with with a bath. She was catching up to Chara now and soon she ran beside him, nostrils flaring, chest heaving, muscles bulging and moving under her skin. "Is that all you got?" She taunted and laughed, silver eyes glowing with excitement.

Chara looked at the mare and studied her form as they ran. All I've got? She's got some muscles on her! he thought to himself as he smirked "Oh I haven't even begun" he replied and kicked back into his full gallop. He dodged tree branches and lept over fallen trees as he looked back to stick his tongue out at the mare. "Catch me if you can!" he called out and turned to face the maze of fallen trees and low branches.

Nailiah ran harder keeping pace with him before slowing down for a brief moment. Her nostrils flared taking in as much air as she could in order to regain her stamina. Chara was fast, but Nailiah knew she could take him. She knew she was faster. Taking another breath, she surged forward feeling the burn of her body, the quick adrenaline causing her to feel more alive. The mare kept forward soon catching up with the stallion. She leaped over the grasses and the fallen trees and weaved in and out of the standing ones. "I'm coming for you, Chara!" The mare called quickly going faster, silver eyes keeping him on track.

Chara let out a boisterous laugh, letting her know that he was not sure she could catch him. He too was flaring his nostrils, taking in as much oxygen as possible. It had been years since he had had this much fun! He weaved in and out of the trees, trying to slow Nailiah down so she couldn't catch him. His tail was pulled up a little so it didn't drag on the ground, he always found pulling sticks out of his own tail was painful and more trouble than it was worth.

This chase was intense. Nailiah had never felt so alive. As they kept going, they eventually began to get to the outskirts of the forests. She jumped over the bits of the fallen trees and rushed through the brush. Nailiah started to run parallel to him keeping an eye on the terrain and him in her peripheral. Her mane and tail flashed in the small traces of sunlight coming through the trees. Her body beaded with sweat, muscles burning under her skin. There was no way she was giving up this chase, though she knew she'd burn out sooner or later.

Suddenly they burst out of the forest, Chara made one last leap over a fallen log and smiled bigger as the sun warmed his fur. The white and yellow banding shone in the sunlight as he dug his hooves into the soft earth. Suddenly his legs came out from under him. He let out a high pitched scream and fell into the wet mud. He rolled a little, now covered in mud. He stood up, shook the excess of and laughed. He watched Nailiah still moving in the sun and smiled, he liked what he saw

Nailiah wasn't that far behind. She was closing in on him. But she slowed down when he suddenly slipped through the mud. Her eyes went wide wondering if he possibly hurt himself. But as he stood up, she gave a bit of a grin relieved that he was ok. The mare gave a devious grin before she herself dived into the mud. She rolled and giggled coming to a sliding stop close by. Her nostrils flared as she gave an excited whinny in laughter. The mare rolled to her feet and stood up slowly making sure she didn't slip again. Covered in mud, she nudged his ear in play. "That....was so much fun!" Nailiah exclaimed, her chest still heaving from the intense run. Her hair was tangled with mud, sticks, leaves, and nature. and yet her silver eyes glowed with excitement. "Did you have fun, Chara?"

Chara whinnied a laugh and replied "Yes, much more fun than I've had in quite some time! Sorry you're covered in dirt though!" he replied and brushed a leaf out of her mane. He turned away quickly, realising that he had touched her without asking and was immediately embarrassed. "I hope you enjoyed it too" he said his sides still heaving, and his nostrils flaring as he walked around slowly, making sure his muscles didn't cramp.

The mare felt so elated that she didn't notice his touch. "I'm glad you had a lot of fun, Chara." Nailiah looked toward him curiously starting to walk at his side pacing herself to his steps. "Mud is fine. It's good to get dirty sometimes. And I did have a lot of fun." Her tail flicked, nostrils flared as her chest rose and fell according to her breathing. "Did you want to find a river or something to wash off?" Nailiah blinked a little nudging her nose against his. Touch was a form of communication for Nailiah and she was comfortable being close and touching that is, as long as he was.

Chara nodded and smiled a little when she nudged him with her nose. It made his heart flutter when she spoke and he could feel it race when she touched him. "Yes, let's go wash off. You don't want to stain your beautiful coat!" he replied and started to head towards the closest moving water. His tail unconciously swayed behind him, flicking away flies trying to land on his rump and helping with those trying to land on Nailiah's rump as well. He motioned for her to follow him as he cut through a thicket and they came upon a river, precariously hidden by the forest. The shade was cooler than the heat of the day outside of the forest and the water was warm enough not to chill. "This is my little secret spot" he said and winked at her.

The mare flicked her tail gently following beside him closely. Her ears flicked feeling the insects swarm around them. She shook her neck and head a little grateful for Chara helping on her back end with his tail. He wasn't such a bad stallion. Cutting through the thicket seemed to be no problem, her silver eyes glowing slightly with content. When they came to what he called his secret spot, she felt her insides warm. "I'm grateful you're showing this to me. I'm sure you wouldn't want to show it to most." The mare smiled a little now feeling quite comfortable in the shade. Nailiah slowly moved into the water as some of the mud from her lower legs began to wash away. She dipped her snout in for a cool drink then looked over to Chara. "Coming?"

Chara nodded and replied "Yes, I'm coming. I am just enjoying the view" he followed soon after and stood in the water, his mud caked legs now slowly washing off. "No, I haven't ever shown anyone this place. But I know you'll keep it secret" he said with a sweet smile. His heart regained it's normal pace as did his breathing. He was calm and happy for the first time, well in years. He yawned and laid down in the river, trying to wash off his back and sides.

Nailiah lowered herself to the waters moving her frame and legs to try and wash off. Her hair slowly but surely began to untangle and become clean in the stream. "You're quite the charmer, Chara. I promise I won't show anyone.." Her silver eyes glowed gently as she then began washing herself again. The mare rolled over scratching her back and arching her neck up to keep her ears from the water. Her legs slightly kicked as she tried to keep balance before rolling back over on her side, her eyes meeting his again. She began blushing then looked away quickly taking another small drink of water.

"I don't know how many people would agree with you, but thank you" he said with a slight bow. Chara's coat glistened in the faint light. He stepped out of the river to shake the beads of water off of his coat and he stepped back in, the feeling of water on his hooves was soothing. He closed his eyes and sighed happily. He reached down to get a drink and looked up at Nailiah "I have really enjoyed your company" he said with a smile "I had forgotten what it was like to have someone that was a pleasure to be around. Nailiah, can you tell me about yourself? I really want to get to know you better"

She stood up feeling clean enough. She shook her body, pelt quivering due to her movements. Her mane and tail hung heavily as water seemed to rain down on the ground and in the river. She slipped from the water coming up next to him. She shook her body again in an attempt to dry her hair. But that would have to come with time and patience. "About me?" Nailiah's head tilted as her silver eyes studied him. "Well...I'm..just a simple mare. I have a chosen as I have told you. I like running a lot...it's what I'm kinda good at. I'm actually pretty shy, but only in groups really. And sometimes with stallions I like.." Her eyes trailed as she thought about what else to say. "Is there something specific you wanted to ask me, Chara?"
