Excitedly Criana followed behind, only glancing back in the direction of her family once. It was still early - they shouldn't miss her. "Lead the way!" she cried, giggling to herself about how funny Cad looked with the basket on his back. I wonder why he carries it around with him? she pondered. That question was for another time though.

He laughed some and gave a bit of a hop here and there as he walked on. the camp wasn't too far off. No, he'd make sure they were still near the meadow just on the off chance they ran into trouble and had to get back home in a flash. Carefully he pushed out of the grass and into the underbrush of the woods once more. There was a log over a dip in the earth which he carefully stepped up onto and walked across before stopping and turning to warn her. "It's a bit slippery so be careful ok?"

Mimicking his footsteps the best she could, Criana made a game of follow the leader while Cad led the way to the camp. She looked up when he crossed the log. She was game for just about anything, and this log was no exception. "Don't worry, I won't slip!" She made her way carefully across the log, humming as she went, making sure each hoof was steady before taking another step. It might have taken her longer, but it was much better than falling off and hurting herself. Once she was safely to the other side she asked, "where to next?"

He nodded ahead of them. "Trough those bushes and we'll be there." He grinned and set off once more. He was glad she hadn't fallen. That would have made it rough if they needed a quick get away and well.. he wouldn't just leave some one behind because they couldn't move as fast. It wasn't long and he circled around the thorny bushes and stopped smack in the middle of the rabble left camp. "See? It's not much but the have some interesting things!"

Criana looked around the camp in wonder. There were so many things she hadn't seen before! "This is so cool!" She said, grinning at Cad. "Do you know what any of it is?" Not waiting for an answer before she explored, she stuck her nose in what looked to be a very round stone with a hollow in the middle. It was so smooth!!

"Not a clue.. I've been trying to figure them out since I found them.. that and I wanted to see what I could fix or make into something new really." He grinned wider. he really was a tinkering little lad always trying to make new things out of old discarded things. He didn't want to keep all of the items but to gift them away as presents. Something his sisters often teased him about his crafting. "Criana.. do all colts have cooties?"

Criana looked up then, and laughed. She eyed the colt, wondering if he was really serious. His expression was sincere... so she figured his sisters must have been having fun with him then. "My brother told me that all phillies have cooties, but my dad assured me there was no such thing." Her dad was pretty smart, so she knew she could take his word for it. "What are they supposed to be anyway?" That part was never fully explained to her... just that it was something gross made up.

He gave a small shrug. "No clue.. Fillies have cooties too?? then f fillies have cooties and colts have cooties then... why should it matter if i nudge my sister?" He cocked his head to the side. giving a sigh he shook his head. "But they're not real? Huh.... seriously? you're not just going to tease me about it later are you?"

"Well, that's what my dad says, and I trust him. But if they are real, and everyone has them, then I guess it doesn't matter." Feeling a little mischievous she gave up investigating the camp for a few moments and started edging closer to him. "Unless my dad was wrong..." She gave a laugh and bounded towards him playfully.

"Ack! Cooties!!!!!" He bucked a few times and turned fleeing in the opposite direction of her. He really did seem to have a fear of this made up illness. "I don't want them!" Once a ways away from her, he tried to shield himself under his basket peering out cautiously.

She laughed again - she could see why his sisters might play around with him about this... he was so much fun to tease! She took one step towards him, and then another... and another - slowly making her way closer and closer to his basket. When she was close enough, she extended her foreleg and creeped it towards him. "I'm going to give you cooties!" She giggled.

He let out a yelp and shot up fleeing once more. "NO cooties!!!!!" He'd looked back to see how far behind him she was and ran smack into the side wall of a tepee that'd been just left as though it's inhabitants had been in too much of a hurry to bother packing it up. The cooties chase forgotten, she edged around the side wall to the opening and blinked sniffing at it.

"Are you okay Cad?" She asked when the foal crashed into a wall of some sort. She walked closer to inspect exactly what it was Cad had run into. Standing beside her new friend, she peered into the dim teepee and saw things she had never seen before... what were all of these things? "Hey Cad, do you know what any of this stuff is?" She asked, glancing at him.

"I don't know. I've never seen so many intact things from the two-leggers..." He cautiously stepped into the teepee and looked around. His curiosity had him walking up to the make shift bed and sniffing at it. There were all sorts of things hanging from pegs on the poles. None of which he knew the names for.

There were so many things to look at - colorful, strange and beautiful. She could see now why Cad liked to rummage around in these places. The teasing she still had planned completely left her mind as she was dazzled by all of the new things in front of her. She started poking her nose into different containers, nibbling on this or that and more closely inspecting the smaller things. Finally she spotted something she thought she recognized - they were shells, much like the ones she spotted on the beach some times, but as she went to pick up one of the prettiest ones delicately in her teeth, more came with it. "How are these sticking together?" She wondered allowed, around the mouthful of shell.
