This was really a whole lot to take in. Hesperis seemed completely lost, so for now, she latched on the answers she was given. Kill monsters. Protect normal people. Make sure no one dies.
The rest could settle in later.
She looked back and forth until she finally found what she was looking for. "Oh, good !" She darted to the newly spotted water fountain. Now that the adrenaline was wearing off, she was noticing truly how god damn hot this whole thing was.
"I'll keep an eye out for them." She said, if only to reassure him. Poor Camelot seemed so nervous. Where he saw her as so young, she knew herself capable of handling herself on her own... For the most part. "So, uh, how do I take this off ? I can't really go back home looking like this !"
He didn't need to know her home was a dorm, and that there was no warm, loving parents waiting for her there.

Camelot frowned. He would have to simplify the lesson a bit, or at least break it up so he wasn't rushing a ton of information out to someone all at once, and just hoping they grabbed hold of some of it. The most important part of this new life was being able to survive in it, and knowledge would help one do that.
But knowledge without understanding was useless. Or even dangerous.
The knight followed her, rubbing his arm thoughtfully. Did senshi cats feel like this, when they awakened their teenage super heroes? Kids being brought into a war they didn't understand, with no help save what those present at the time could provide. No support save that which they went out and found themselves. And he wasn't even responsible for this: the knights all got their weapons at apparent random, when something or someone decided they were ready. He had just managed to be there at the right time.
"Just focus on how you were, your usual self. You can power down, and summon your weapon again when you need it next. It won't appear in front of you out of no where like it did this time, you control it now. I... if you want to learn more about this whole thing, or just want to meet some others like you... I mean, those people who can help, that I mentioned, I am gathering knights for a..."
Round table. He didn't want to say it.
"A group. A team. We fight to defend life and end the war, but also to protect each other and those that need us most. Most of us aren't exactly old in this war, either."

Imagine herself like how she used to be, uh ? Well... This certainly would perhaps be one of the most normal things about the night so far...
And so she did. And in a flash of light blue, she was Darryl again, the coat and the dreaded heels thankfully gone. "...Well alright then."
Strangest thing to have ever happened in her life ? Check. Very much check.
"...This s**t is ******** up." Really.
She was in wayyyy over her head, but at least she seemed to realize that, as she looked to Camelot again. "I would... like that. If that isn't too much of a bother ?" The way she spoke it made it sound like she was used to being a bother.

Camelot looked around, then powered down himself, standing now as the librarian with the cane, if she had ever swung by the place of books before. He smiled at her, nodding his head in agreement.
"It is a bit... overwhelming and strange. Though you could probably watch the language..." He sighed, often telling kids off in the library for their language, when other, mostly older, people complained. He also spent a whole lot of time telling Nathan to mind his language, though it always fell on deaf ears.
Still, it was habit now to avoid cursing and, more importantly, tell those using it off.
"No bother at all. I'm glad, really. I'd hate to abandon you to it, after all this, and just let you sink or swim in the deep end. We'll be meeting as a group for the first time soon, so it's good timing on your part." He chuckled, knowing full well that timing had nothing to do with it.
"Are you alright? I mean. After all that. Injured? Freaking out? Can I escort you home?"

Darryl made a bit of a face at being told to mind her language, but said nothing. It wasn't something she really thought about. If she was angry or freaking out, out they went. She learned young, really - good thing Tony had never met her mother, or he might as well have had an heart attack and died right on the spot.
"Oh ?" Yeah, she was interested. Maybe it would feel less weird in a room full of people... like her ? "When ?"
At his question, she shook her head lightly. "Im fine... I don't think it managed to do much to me." Even if it had, it could have easily been passed as a skateboard accident.
"I'll be fine going home, it's... not too far from here." That was true, through her home wasn't exactly what Tony might think.

Tony smiled and nodded.
"Once attacked, twice shy, or however that goes. lead the way. I'll just keep an eye out, just in case." Truthfully, he was worried she was more freaked out than she was letting on, as she was handling things quite well at the moment. He'd just make sure she got home and nothing bad happened to her, or there was no way he was going to get any sleep that night.
He walked with her whether she wanted him to or not, filling her in on the date and time of the meeting, and where it would be. The library wasn't a surprising place, considering who he was, but he promised it would be safe and simple. Just a meet and greet and a little discussion.
What could go wrong with that?
"That item of yours was nice at least," he said conversationally as they walked, "a staff is one of the more useful weapons I've seen given to a page."

Well, it looked like she had no choice, really. He wasn't going to just let her go that easily, it seemed.
It was annoying, but at the same time, she found it hard to truly be angry over that. If he hadn't been around, she'd probably be monster goo.
She'd been to the library before - with both of her schools, mostly - but she was familiar with the location. "So... just get up to the roof and go in ?" She wasn't exactly sure how she'd get to the roof, but Tony didn't seem to think there would be a problem.
"Oh ? Really ?" Well. That was flattering ! "A shield isn't such a bad thing, either..." Not good at attacking, perhaps, but the defense aspect was useful.

"Oh! Yes, ah. When you're, you know, in your knight form you can... uh," he tried to word it without making it seem like a toy to be played with. But of course, any teenager that was told why could leap up buildings and do super human things was probably going to want to try that out.
Hell, even Tony had fallen prey to the allure of testing his limits as Camelot.
"You will find that climbing up buildings isn't as difficult as it sounds now. You can jump higher and you have more strength in your body as a knight. And it's not the most difficult building to scale. I'm sure you'll be able to get up there."
He chuckled. Sometimes the conversations he had, the things that were now normal to talk about or even encourage, made him laugh. it was a mad world, indeed.
"I agree, I like my shield. It's already helped quite a bit. I feel bad for some of the others, though. They have... less giving items to work with." A compass on a chain for Valhalla, some kind of chain thing for Niflhel. He'd seen a glowstick once, he was sure.
And there were probably even less useful things, but at least they could always rely on ingenuity.

That had pretty much the very effect he'd expected - she perked, and she had that glint in her eyes. "Really ?"
Oh, this was going to need exploring.
Preferably away from adult supervision. Sorry, Tony.
"Well, that sucks. They do manage with them, I hope ?" If not, well, she had a stick. She'll do the whacking for them.

Tony looked at her with a silent warning on his face. That expression older people got when they knew a kid was about to make a big mistake. It didn't stay silent for long, of course, as he could almost read her intentions on her face all too clearly.
"Don't do anything too reckless right off the bat. With any skill comes the need to practice."
Was that in a movie somewhere? If he had heard it and quoted it without realizing it, but it still was sound advice. He nodded his head as they walked, though, in answer to her question. Looking around, he wondered where they were going. It seemed to be a little away from the residential areas he was used to, but then, he hadn't been to every corner of the city.
"Oh, they do. And we aid each other. That's the goal, at least."

Darryl pouted again. Adults. So unfun.
"Yeah, well im perfectly fine with whacking s**t for everyone that needs it." Clearly the universe knew what her place had to be in this thing.
Clearly.
They were, indeed, heading away from the residential area, and more toward... Well, she could see the cathedral from here, but they still had a little bit of a walk to go.

Tony laughed at that, shaking his head slowly. He scratched the back of his neck, though it seemed she did have the best tool for the job of smacking youma around. Even if she was just a young kid, whatever force that awakened them had given her a staff for a reason.
And she would have to learn how to use it, and find her reason for fighting. Or not fighting. The Knights, and Tony, would help her with that, at the very least.
And keep her from getting hurt or killed, so she might have a chance at her normal life again.
"Do you have any questions or concerns or anything? I can try to explain things a bit better while we're walking. Or, ah. I mean, I don't know much about you. Did I even introduce myself? Anthony Darrow." He couldn't helpl but be a little jumbled. And if he was overwhelmed by all that happened, he could imagine how she felt.

If Darryl's mind wasn't still reeling, she might have had more questions to ask. How ? Why ? What was actually going on in Destiny City ?
But her mind was still reeling, and the questions wouldn't word themselves properly. "Darryl Spencer." She answered with her own name. "Stop looking so worried, I'll be fine !"
That was true. When had she not managed, after all ?

"I can't help but worry! You've very young, if you don't mind me saying, and this whole thing can be very dangerous for you. I mean, I don't mean to scare you. Ah. We'll... figure it out."
He sighed. Already worried about her and she had only been a knight for two minutes. He didn't need to play the over bearing father so soon, did he? Not that he was playing at all.
It was hard to worry about everyone all the time, but he persevered.
"Well, it's nice to meet you, Darryl. You can find me at the library any time you want to. And at the meeting."
He glanced around, wondering if they had passed her house in their talking and wandering. He could be a little dense sometimes, but he wasn't familiar with the area so of course he couldn't know.

"I'll see if I can drop by sometime..."
No, they hadn't passed Darryl's house. Not at all. In fact, they were getting closer and closer, until they finally reached a massive metal gateway and fence.
It wasn't an house. It wasn't a mansion either, far from it. But this was, nonetheless, where Darryl lived.
And the reason she hadn't wanted Tony to follow him. This was bound to get awkward right.. .about... now.
She stopped, patted Dogsby on the head, and then stood back up. "It's... as far as you can really take me, unless you want the nuns tidal-waving you with questions, so..."
