Chaonis arched an eyebrow, interested in her offer. He put the bag down again and then placed his hands on his hips, tilting his head to one side and grinning crookedly at her.
"A secret, huh? That sounds interesting enough. If I were five." He underestimated the age a bit, but they seemed to be thinking the same thing. Still, he was more interested in seeing what she could do and throwing his weight around some, so it worked out. Secret or not.
Shifting positions, he dropped his arms when he heard her start calling her attack, tensing instinctively but quickly learning that her skill was not an attack in itself. One of those defense oriented senshi.
Boring.
This move seemed to be designed for distraction, and though Chaonis could sometimes have the attention span of a goldfish, he was in a fight now. And his body was aware of it. He was not going to let his guard drop for a second, even as feathers started to surround him and block his vision.
"Nice trick," he said, charging forward, to see if he could get through the feathers, remembering where she had last been and pulling his arm back to swing for it.

So now there were two secrets involved. She had a couple things she could say, but most of them involved her civilian identity somehow. And that was something she really didn't want to give away. But as she thought about the various things that could happen, the different outcomes, her body rebelled. Thinking about throwing a punch at the guy, even if he was a jerk, made her stomach flip flop in an unpleasing manner...
The feather's flew true, but Grus could see him already tensed up, and looking as if he were going to charge right through the feathers. She dashed to the right, angling herself so that she would end up right where the feather cloud ended, and open air began.
Her leg went out, less than a foot off the ground. She didn't want to hit him, but her body didn't seem to protest trying to trip him, and letting the ground do the work.

Chaonis charged but she had moved and he saw the empty space as the feathers cleared. It took him a moment to figure out where she had moved to and, of course, by then he had found her foot anyway.
His leg hit hers and he stumbled, thrown off balance by the momentum in his movement originally. He fell forward and hit the ground, but he had his hands under him already. Swinging his legs around, he aimed to kick her while he had the chance.
Might as well take an opportunity to attack when he had it. See if he couldn't get more out of her than what little she was giving him. There had to be more to her then feathers and pacifism.
Why have powers that allowed you to hit harder and move faster if you weren't going to use them?
"So what's the idea," he asked conversationally, like they were skipping rope rather than sparring, "you too scared to fight, or you just don't want to hit nice guys like me? Will you fight negaverse agents? Youma?"

Her mind raced as the fight actually started. When Chaonis hit her leg, she winced, feeling his large boot cut into her leg as she spun to keep her foot from being crushed under him. Her movement kept her spinning around until a kick hit her in the side, knocking her to the ground.
She gasped as cleat connected with ribcage, and fell, breaking her fall with her hands. She rolled over and pushed herself up quickly, giving the connection spot a quick poke to see if anything was broken. It would certainly be bruised.
"I am not scared!" She said, taking a step away form him "And you certainly don't seem very nice. Arrogant and haughty is more like it."
"And I've fought both youma and negaverse!" She said, kicking a rock in his direction. It still didn't need to be said how those fights turned out..

Chaonis often forgot he had cleats on his shoes, though that was usually a happy discovery each time he kicked something and remembered. He wasn't sure why the simple fact didn't stick in his mind, but at least it kept him on his toes.
While she was on the ground, Chaonis pulled his feet under him to get himself back upright. Had to keep his focus up and in gear, even if he was trying to fight with confidence and a mocking gait. He put a hand on his hip, watching her keenly.
despite the pose, he was still tense and ready.
"Haughty?" Chaonis scoffed, though it was unclear if he actually knew what the word meant much less took honest offense to it. He had dropped out of school when he was younger, after all. He grinned at her, though. "Arrogant, yes."
When she threw the stone at him it hit him in the chest, bouncing off his padding but stinging. "If you're going to throw stones... you should use them right." He frowned at her, then picked it up and threw it back at her as hard as he could. He followed it with a direct attack, on the idea that she would waste time trying to block or dodge the rock and leave herself open for attack.

This was not gong well.
This was not gong well at all.
He was obviously strong. Grus watched the rock bounce off him harmlessly, and a bit of panic started to creep in to settle next to her unwillingness to fight him. What exactly could she do? He was trying everything to get a fight out of her, but she knew if she fought it would end horribly, just like with Kallichore...
She shook her head, and then promptly jumped to the side in surprise as a rock came back at her, much faster than when she had kicked it. So now he was throwing rocks too? Why didn't he use his magic? She twisted to ask him, in time to see Chaonis right on her with a direct attack, but rather than kick at him or hit him herself, she shielded herself with her arms, trying to back away as quickly as possible. She shut her eyes for a moment, waiting for the hit she knew would come.
If there's a God out there, don't let him kill me. She thought, feeling her panic rise with a large dose of shame.

Chaonis rarely used his magic to fight with other senshi, if only because the whole Danger thing was quite apt. He didn't want to really hurt them, unless he was in control of it, and his attacks didn't offer much in that light.
With his fists and feet he could punch and kick and have complete control of the damage he dealt.
His fist slammed into her arm, and he didn't hold back too much. He wasn't aiming to break anything or ruin her chance to get into a proper fight and survive it, but he was trying to make a point. There were fights that simply had to be fought, and to survive and do anyone any good, a senshi was responsible for learning how to fight.
To keep themselves in the game, regardless of their scruples or their fancy ideas of peace. There was nothing telling them that knowing how to fight or defend meant they had to then go out and look for trouble like Chaonis did. Why was the knowledge itself evil? Just like any power, fighting skills were only as dangerous as they were used.
In his beliefs, even pacifists needed to know how to fight, even if they chose not to. As their enemies would not choose the same path, and would not likely spare them any thought for their personal beliefs. No senshi was any different: there would always be someone there to fight against them. The Negaverse just didn't care. They would kill.
Chaonis wasn't going to let that happen to any of the senshi he met, if he could help it.
"If I'm charging you have the defense, but that doesn't mean you can't take it away from me," the super senshi called, "I've got your arms and your face," he was swinging for it as he spoke, "but you still have your legs. Your whole body is your weapon: if you want to get out of this, then think on your feet!"

She tried to keep it in, but a small cry of pain escaped as he connected with her arm. It felt like he wasn't holding back, and she once again was in awe of how much power he had. Was it really wise to give kids like them the ability to attack like this? She made a move to get away, separating her arms to push his fist away from her, only to have it come at her again, this time for her face. She took a step back, watching with wide eyes as the fist flew by an inch or so from her nose. This was ridiculous! Her whole body was a weapon? She closed her eyes again and bit her lip, lashing out with her foot. He wanted her to think on her feet right?
She jumped backwards, landing in the middle of the street. She looked around quickly. There was nothing of use around her.
"You don't understand!" She called out, trying to make her way across the street. Maybe there was a garbage can or something she could use to defend herself with over there. The Senshi of Danger certainly wasn't going to let up on her. She still had one more use of her power. But the thought of not having a way to run made her jumpy. No she would save it, unless an absolute emergency arose. "You just don't understand." She said quieter, more to herself than to Chaonis.

The Senshi watched her keenly, more interested in her reactions than her actual attacks. He needed to see what she was thinking, and what was holding her up. Not because he cared, so much, about her personal feelings, but because whatever this hang up was it was going to get her in trouble.
He knew that, it seemed.
He chased her, rubbing his leg where she had kicked him. True enough, he had padding and more armor than most senshi could delight in, but it still hurt.
"What don't I understand? You want to get yourself beaten up constantly? One of those girls, huh?" He asked as he followed after her. He was going to let her get whatever she wanted if she thought it would aid her. But he wasn't going to let her just run away.

She shook her head at his questions, remaining where she was in a defensive stance. There's no way he would understand. No way he would get why she couldn't....
But if was looking to fight, she should at least give him a reason. Otherwise he would think she was weak. "It's not that I like getting beat up." She said, rubbing her arm where he had hit her earlier.
"I..." she started, red creeping into her cheeks. "I can't fight." She said, sadness edging into her voice. "And I don't mean like, I am bad at it. I can't." Even her hair seemed to droop as her sadness increased "It makes me sick." She said, shutting her eyes in frustration. Here comes the mocking...
She couldn't help the fact that fighting made her ill. It happened every time. The nausea varied depending on who she was fighting. But she had still managed to puke after a youma fight...

Chaonis frowned at the answer, and changed his tactic suddenly. He moved straight toward her, grabbing her arm and pulling her to him. Her back was to his chest, his hands now on both of her arms. He pulled her arms up.
"Makes you sick? You're thinking too much," he said, gruffly. He sounded like he was chastising, and in a way he very much was. It wasn't an answer he had ever heard before.
He had stopped the fight, but he was holding her hostage now.
"You're either scared of hurting someone, getting yourself hurt, or you're squeamish. Which one is it?" He positioned her arms apart, up, not in a proper defensive stance but rather one of readiness. A neutral kind of position that lent itself to reactions more than action. He kicked one of her feet to widen her leg stance.
"You get sick, you're letting you body and your emotions rule you, instead of the other way around."

She wanted to curl up and die. She had basically admitted that she was a failure as a senshi, and all this kid did was frown at her. She shut her eyes, and heard his cleats clicking on the pavement. He wasn't running though. She figured he was going to just simply knock her out.
Instead he grabbed her arm.
Grus felt herself being pulled, and then she was pressed against his chest, partially off balance. Her eyes flashed open and widened as she felt her wrists trapped in his hands. What was he doing?!
"I-it does!" She said, face feeling hot. She couldn't see him at all, other than the hands holding her hostage. He continued to talk, moving her arms. Her heart pounded while he positioned her arms and legs like a puppetmaster, leaving her in a stance she had never taken before. she stumbled a little and regained her balance when he moved her foot.
"I'm not sure why it happens." She said, turning to try and look at him. "Well, I guess I'm not completely in the dark about it. I've been taught all my life that fighting is wrong, that there's always another answer. That it wasn't lady-like to brawl." She was repeating the words her father had spoken to her back when she was a child, and she and Kaylee would fight over toys and other such trivial things.
Her brain was fighting her self loathing. Briefly she wondered what someone walking down the street might think, seeing some strangely dressed guy wrapped around and equally strangely dressed girl.
"I guess I'm scared... of hurting someone. It breaks the whole -Do Unto Others- rule we're taught at such a young age."
She stopped trying to look up at him, asking "Does that make me a terrible senshi?"

"You're going to have to relearn some things, then, and condition yourself a different way. The more you practice, the more used to it you'll get. But now is not the time to worry about being lady like or following rules your parents set."
"Yes, yes it does," the male senshi said, looking at her when she asked him if that made her a terrible senshi. He moved from behind her, leaving her in the stance he gave her and holding his hand up to indicate she had to stay that way.
"But only because you'll get yourself in trouble that way. Look. You don't have to fight if you don't want to. There are plenty of senshi who don't like fighting, and want to find some pussier way to deal with things. That's fine, you don't have to feel shitty about that. But not wanting for fight is not a good excuse for not knowing how: if you don't know how, then you'll get yourself killed. Block with your left."
He swung at her.

She slumped a little when he said that she was being a terrible senshi. She was more expecting something like Kallichore had said, reassurance that she wasn't, or encouragement or something other than agreeing with her!
She shivered once when he moved away, and the night air could reach her back again.
"I just...it freaks me out that I could really hurt someone if I wanted to. Like, I could break their arm or even..kill them! I'm no God, so why should I decide that kindof thing?"
She flinched and her eyes clamped shut as he swung at her, but her left arm came up to block the blow. Her eyes opened again, and she blinked a couple times. It was much easier to block from this stance than it was when she normally fought.

"Strike with your right," Chaonis said, as he watched her block his first attack. These were the very basics, and a more direct route than he often took with his training. He figured he had to change things up with different kinds of people, but more than that he was oddly invested in this exchange at the moment.
"I know it's not everyone's idea of a good time, but sometimes you have to fight so you can stay alive to be a pacifist again another day. Do you understand me? You don't have to fight all the time, or do anything that makes you feel like a shitty senshi, but you do have to do something. No enemy is going to go easy on you, and before you can figure out an effective way to not fight them, you're going to have to at least be able to defend yourself. It's not about doing damage, breaking bones or killing anyone."
He was staring at her, dark eyes keen and focused. This was something he seemed to care a lot about, despite his cavalier attitude and his bad manners before. He might not conduct himself in the best way, but he didn't want any more senshi to lose their lives if he could do something to help them prevent it.
"You might not want to hurt them, but they'll want to hurt, or kill, you. You just can't let them do that, while you figure all the rest out."
