Riley only nodded in response to his question. Her hand remained tilted in his direction even as he undressed, and when he said those magic words, her claws curled around his fingers and clenched his hand firmly in her grip.

The electricity was tangible in the air. It crawled up his arm, across his shoulders, and settled directly around his heart. She pulled the hand she held, forcing him directly in front of her, and then let go. Her hand clenched so that only a single digit remained pointed, and the claw brushed with a feathered scratch across from one side of his chest to another. As it passed, the lines of red singed into his skin, curling outward from her fingertip and forming the design of her mark.

When she pulled her finger back, the mark cooled, fading to a dark black color.

She patted his chest softly, and tilted her head. You know something? That's a good look for you.

As she clasped his hand to seal the deal, Jericho felt raw FEAR shooting through him. It was a strange and foreign sensation, but it wasn't necessarily a bad one. His brow furrowed as he felt the mark forming on his skin as Riley brushed her finger across his chest. This too, was odd, as he wasn't very accustomed to what a burn felt like.

When it was all finished, he let out a breath, then glanced down at the black mark that now sat on his chest.

"It is pretty cool," He grinned while looking it over. The dragon would have to use a mirror later on to get a better view of it, "Is there anything we need to do about this?"

Riley was already pulling a piece of paper out of her desk drawer even as he asked, and she settled it down on her desk with a fountain pen beside it.

Paperwork. She drawled in annoyance, and picked up the pen, dipping it in ink before beginning to fill out the terms. The school has a policy about it, I believe it is simply to make sure demons aren't taking advantage of others. Though there was no audible laughter, Jericho would feel the amusement emanating from her in waves.

She stopped when she got to the descriptions, and tapped her cheek with the back of the pen for a moment. Let's, ah.. let's say..

She scribbled a word, and then paused at her description. Hm, this one is going to be a bit trickier.. I need something tangible that I am doing for you. Her head quirked to give him a side glance, one eyebrow raising. Any ideas?

A pause.

Any clean ideas?

Paperwork? Jericho frowned at the idea but he supposed he could see what the reasoning for this would be. Grinning as a result of the amusement he felt, he scooted over and leaned to see the slip more clearly. The form seemed pretty straightforward at least.

Thinking on what they could put down, he grinned deviously and was about to say something but Riley had already shot him down before he could even begin.

"Oh fine," he said, leaning back and rubbing his chin, "You can always help me polish my.. treasure."

Riley picked up one of the thinner volumes of books from her pile and threw it at his head.

That was a terrible pun, and I am offended at it's use. You can do better.

She paused to think, and her eyebrows lifted slightly as an idea came to her. Ah, I know. Her hands rolled up into fists. I can be your bodyguard. Protect you from all those bullies, like Astra. The fists rose and jabbed in front of her, like a boxer. Since we all know you need some help in that department.

Quickly ducking to avoid a book to the face, Jericho grinned right back at Riley. That grin quickly faded and turned into a rather flat expression at her own suggestion.

"And I'm offended that you think I need help with that stupid little Klefairy," he said.

The dragon's eyes lit up once more as another idea came to mind.

"What about Flamethrower? You've been taking care of him for me."

Riley's head lifted, just slightly, her face cringing in thought. Ah.. maybe. I don't know. There has to be something..

She slid the paper away from her, and sighed. I don't have to decide right now. I'll fill it out later. You sign here, and I'll bring it to the office when I'm done.

Still drawing a blank for a good idea, Jericho nodded and took the pen to sign his name.

"Alright," he grinned before glancing at his shirt and coat on the side, "So uh.. I can put my stuff back on now right?"

Riley made a face, as if contemplating saying no, before shrugging her shoulders. I guess. You shouldn't even bother. You obviously look better without it now.

She folded the sheet up and put it away in her desk drawer.

So, other than dumping me at prom, was there anything else you needed from me?

Chuckling at the comment, Jericho glanced down at his chest. It was a pretty cool looking mark. It was like having a tattoo now. A part of him wondered if it'd show up in his true form... He'd have to check that out later on whenever he returned to his room. As a result, he didn't put his shirt back on just yet.

"Well it's definitely a nice touch," he grinned before looking back towards Riley, "No that was about it. Unless you need help with something I could assist you with right now."

Riley had to think about it for a moment, and as she did, she admired her handiwork on his chest. Her mark was rather impressive..

A sudden thought came to her. Ah. Of course, yes. I'd like to ask your opinion on something. She got up out of her seat, quick enough to force him to take a step back if he didn't want her walking right into him. She hopped up onto her desk, sitting on the corner of it, and plucked at a tip of one of her tentacles idly.

I've been doing some heavy research into the topics presented in our latest Sex-Ed class. I feel my behavior may not have been warranted, and I am a little embarrassed to have been caught without all of the facts. So, I've been using the interweb to find out more on sex.

She narrowed her eyes, and dropped the tentacle to lift a finger in warning. And being that I can already feel your reactions due to our bond, I should clarify; I mean the act of reproduction. Not the physical act of intercourse. I'm well aware of how that works - but strangely enough, reproduction of our general kind happens to be quite separate from that act.

She looked somewhat embarrassed. Being that I felt confident in my database of knowledge, the fact that this .. particular bit of information was withheld from me is more than a little troublesome. Therefore, I've decided that I shall meet this challenge head on. If what I have read is true, then there should be no issue with my plans.

She paused, and took a deep breath, steeling herself to admit out loud what she'd already been planning to do.

I'm going to go to the pumpkin patch.

Jericho tilted his head as she started to speak up and he had to quickly step back to avoid being collided into. He wasn't really sure what it was she had in mind, but he figured he could give the best input he was capable of.

His brow furrowed at the mention of the Sex-Ed class. It certainly.. was an enlightening class to say the least, if not outright disturbing. The dragon couldn't help but shudder at the thought of the FEAR mold. It seemed he was about to ask Riley what she meant exactly with the whole intercourse thing, but she quickly clarified her thoughts.

When she admitted her plans, Jericho just stared at her with his jaw slightly agape.

He saw the way she had reacted towards Astra and her mini faerie, thinking it was a scareling and all. She seemed to be terrified of the thought of kids.

".. You're going to the pumpkin patch? Why?" he asked.

Certainly she wasn't about to try and have a kid? There was no way that could be her plan.

Staring at her some more, he waited to see if she was going to elaborate at all.

Riley let out a brief sigh, and shook her head. Because. I was wrong - about how things.. happen. There's a process that Professor Cricket explained, and it's deliberate - it isn't something that can happen by mistake. So, I plan to just.. go.

And stand there.

And wait for nothing to happen.

She shuddered slightly.

If all goes as is explained in my research, nothing will actually happen while I'm there. And.. I suppose I won't have this irrational fear of scarelings, anymore. Because the choice will be under my control, once again.

She looked at him uneasily. What do you think?
PostPosted: Fri Jul 08, 2011 8:19 am

It all made sense now. Well, for the most part at least. With Riley's explanation, Jericho had a pretty clear idea of what she was planning to do here. She was actually going to try to face her fears in order to kill it. Though, something about her sitting in the pumpkin patch alone, all weirded out made him slightly uncomfortable.

"I think that's a great idea actually. If you can do this, you'll definitely come out to be stronger," he said with a grin, "seeing as you probably wouldn't have that fear of scarelings any more at that point."

Nodding along with this, he paused and looked up at her.

"Are you going to go alone?"

The question made her pause. She had assumed, this entire time, that she would be alone when she did this. It wasn't even a question - she did not dare tempt the fates any further than she already was. His question made her think just a little too hard on the decision, however.

I assumed I would, yes. She hedged, squirming somewhat. There was something.. difficult about the idea of attempting this endeavor alone.

But attempting it with someone sounded even more frightening. Did that mean she should do it, or avoid it?

Do you think that I should go with someone else?
