Castille laughed as the little kid named Peter shared his song. "I like it!" She said, giggling "It was short, sweet and to the point!" Her gaze went form kid to counselor, and she wondered just how many of them were willing to give this activity a try. She tried to look encouraging from one person to another, though she figured it was a bit in vain. If she wasn't willing to sing, who was she to push other people to do so?

Paris shifted on the log as he watched Lily run off for the marshmallows, and glanced around at the children to see if Ainsley was brave enough to sing or if they would have another volunteer. "Lily'll be back in just a bit. Did you want to go ahead and sing?" he asked Ainsley. She still seemed hesitant. He supposed he couldn't blame her.
Maybe he should... help things along...
He glanced up at Chris. "Play the tune for 'Oh, Susanna,'" he requested. "I'll give it a shot to try and help them come up with things."
Once Chris began, Paris quickly threw some words and rhymes together in an attempt to make an appropriate song, drawing a bit off of Peter's example for inspiration.
"I walked alone back to my home When it was only three, But halfway there, I got a scare -- A monster came for me.
It had sharp teeth and fearsome claws, And great big bulging eyes. A shout I gave, but I was saved By a young girl in disguise.
She wore a skirt and many bows, And magic she did use To strike a blow unto her foe Before we two could lose.
She turned to me; who could she be? This girl who fought so well. Her identity I could not see Before she bid farewell.
I walked alone back to my home When it was only three, But at least this time there was no crime No monster came for me."
((Idk I tried. XD;; ))

Castille clapped for Paris. "That was super awesome!" She said, smiling widely.
She waited a bit after Paris sat....but no one offered to come up with another song. Castille placed her chin in her hand, thinking about what rhymes she could use and what tune for that matter. Even though it was just for fun, she didn't want to come up with the worst one and have people look at her funny the rest of the night. Finally, she gathered her thoughts enough to say "Ok, I think I've got one!"
She stood in the flickering firelight and closed her eyes, singing to the tune of "On Top of Spaghetti"
On top of the building All covered in red A girl with some maaaagiiiccc Is missing her bed.
She sits on the rooftoooopp Till the bad guys are there She'll tackle the baaad guyyys And pull on their hair.
They didn't expect her They just didn't see How a girl with some feathers Could beat them badly.
Now their in a prison and she's in her bed that girl with the magic has dreams in her head.
She finished her song and shyly sat down, face turning bright red, though it was hard to see in the fire light. She hoped someone would come up with another one soon, so everyone would pay attention to them and leave her to her pounding heart.

Diana giggled softly at the short little song the boy named Peter seemed to come up with right off the top of his head. Apparently that night was going to be amusing if only for the funny songs that others would come up with. Two more songs quickly followed both very interesting and about girls with magic. This made her think of her mythology lessons, primarily Greek. There was a god that she particularly liked, and apparently so did her parents, so as the Castille was sinning her song Diana thought of what song she could come up with.
What Diana came up with wasn't quite a song but more of a poem that she could sort of sing. After a moment or two with no one wanting to go next the young girl stood and with a shaky smile began.
The spirit of the Moon Shines upon our Lake's face While we carry the tune For this fire lit place.
She smiles and laughs As our songs get sillier. Guarded by hidden distaffs As those in the dark get braver.
But do not fear my fellow camper, For those sworn to the Lady will shine all the brighter As the darkness scurry
I now retire from this failed song I fear I made myself look like a Ding-Dong
With her face flaming in embarrassment Diana quickly sat down and starred fixedly at the flames. She mildly wondered if any one caught and understood the 'distaffs' reference, after all the other three songs referenced females, and hers was kind of a nod to Artemis and her maidens as well. Then again she kinda botched the whole rhyme with lady and scurry.

Ainsley looked to Peter with a smile, and then a giggle as she listened to his song. He made that up? How interesting was that! Ainsley didn't feel like she could make a song up on the spot, but she did know enough songs to keep her more than happy for hours singing just from Disney movies. She really just wanted to sing, and have fun -- the contest was of no interest to her.
So when everyone else was singing their creative songs, she took a moment to pick a song from her mental repertoire, browsing though many different songs from many different Disney and princess themed movies, until she finally decided on the forth song from the movie Tangled. It was a lovely song, the second reprise of the very first song from the movie. The child loved all the songs, but Ainsley had especially loved the scene of Rapunzel escaping the tower and conquering her fears! Ainsley could do the same, and with a deep breath she began:
Look at the world - so close, and I'm halfway to it! Look at it all - so big - do I even dare? Look at me - there at last! - I just have to do it.
Should I? No. Here I go...
Just smell the grass! The dirt! Just like I dreamed they'd be! Just feel that summer breeze - the way it's calling me. For like the first time ever, I'm completely free! I could go running, And racing, And dancing, And chasing, And leaping, And bounding, Hair flying, Heart pounding, And splashing, And reeling, And finally feeling, Now's when my life begins!
The child wasn't embarrassed about singing, but she was quiet as she looked around the campfire, waiting to see if there would be anymore songs.

The night was turning out great! Castille clapped for Ainsley, saying "That was beautiful! Did you make that up yourself?"
When she looked around, she saw pairs of sleepy eyes staring into the fire. It was late, and the kids were already tired to begin with. She thought maybe it was time to get them to bed.
She clapped her hands loudly to get everyone's attention and stood, saying "That was a alot of fun guys! But it seems to be getting late, so maybe we should all head to bed." She nodded sagely, picking up the bucket of water that sat near her feet. She tossed it over the fire pit, dousing the flames in a ball of steam. It rose upward, and the now visible stars shone brilliantly from behind the trees. "If you need help getting back to your cabin let me know!" She said into the dark as she hear shuffling feet moving away. "And I'll see you guys in the morning!"

The child found herself looking at Castille for a moment before she shook her head in reply to the question. She might have liked to been able to say she made it up, but the truth would always be that someone else had and it was very well known from a movie! She may not have been able to say she wrote it, but she was just happy to have been able to sing at all. She was more than certain someone had said it was okay for her to sing a song she didn't make up!
"It's from the movie Tangled," she replied as she took her stand from the log, pulling the blanket that she had laid over it into her arms and shaking any lose dirt free from it before she folded it over her arm. "I couldn't think of anything to make up so I sang a song I liked instead. I really just wanted to sing, thank you for letting me."
She waved to everyone, and then headed back to her cabin for the night.

Lily had literally run to get all the things needed for smore making and managed to make it back in enough time to catch the tail end of Paris' song. She clapped for her friend as the song ended and grinned quite happily, though she would have to remind herself to ask Paris to sing the first half for her as she wanted to remember all of the songs.
She grinned as it seemed the ball really got rolling after that. Campers jumping in and singing songs about camp and Destiny City, even just songs the really like. Lily was all giggles and applause as the campers went one after another. She was happy they were enjoying the event.
As night one of the contest came to a close, and Cub suggested they all head to bed, Lily readily agreed. "You all were really great tonight. I hoped you enjoyed yourselves and I hope you all get a good night rest. Join us again tomorrow for more fun song singing. The winners of the contest will be announced at the end of the week."
With the Lily helped the other's get the campers together and sent off before helping to douse the fire and clean up the smore makings.
