(Sorry, I'll explain in the main thread why I vanished. Steelmind would snort with impatience and tell them that they need to get to a natural firebreak, NOW, while the wind isn't pushing the fire right at them. He just doesn't know a close firebreak other than a small stream, and fears it might take too long.)

(Steelmind is for using the land to escape. Look for a river, look for high ground. Look for spots where fire has scarred the land in the past, where there isn't any grass. Anything that involves "getting the heck outta there". Cause even if someone could magic down some rain, they probably wouldn't have the strength for a fire like that. That, and if the wind shifts then the recuse party needs recusing lol.)

(I like the river or the scarred land ideas myself, at least something to get them more so out of the actual fire and not trapped in the middle, and yes the rain dancing was all in fun)

(.....This isn't working. In my mental map the herd is in a U of fire, and Steelmind is at the tip of the U. He's trying to get the herd's attention so they'll go towards him, and then they can all run off to escape the death trap. Any other scenario doesn't work. An O, and there's nothing they can do except get the herd to run through, maybe lead them, and hope you like your mane/tail singed. At the curve or side of the U it's the same thing. All you can do is lead them and hope the wind cooperates. You can't confront a wildfire, you can only run from it. Once they're out of it then they start the fight to stay out of it.)

The flames are surrounding the herd of horses on three sides, and the horses are racing for the opening. The area where there are no flames is about 2o feet in width, and closing fast.
