So, this video was boring. Where the hell was the mermaid? I was so expecting a Gagafied Splash remix. Anyway, I guess I understand her motive for keeping it simple, but the simplicity didn't speak to me. It didn't say anything. It was just there. I didn't feel that passion and love that seeps from that song in this video. Sorry Gaga, I love you, but this wasn't very good...

i expected people to get all srs bsns about my opinion like on gaga daily. have you ever seen the fans that comment on gaga daily? gonk
holy s**t, you simply say you don't like something she does and they all give you tons of s**t for it and then call you a hater. and then they expect you to bow down to her. i'm okay with gaga love but sometimes they take it too far.
she did look gorgeous in the video though, and i liked the scene, with the whole new york, purple smoke, and pink lights. it just wasnt as entertaining as i though it would be; not my cup of tea. :C

Seriously, it was a bad video. Extremely rushed. You can see the camera shadows, the cinematography was awful, I could go on. From what I have read, she did it in a day because the previous director was fired and you can tell. She probably should have moved the release date to at least clean up some things or add some emotion or something. I just feel that this song was betrayed by this video. She's rushin' too much. Just slow down a bit Gaga and relax for a minute. I will agree, though, she was beautiful in it.

and i noticed the camera shaking a couple times. once it looked like she purposely shook the camera but the other times looked like the camera man had shaking hands or something.

@saypls: I agreee. I felt like I was gonna be the black sheep with this one, because I usually am, but I'm glad that others feel the same!
My favorite video's are "Telephone" and "Judas" for a reason. Awesome story, thousands of outfit changes, cool dance moves and and overall exciting atmosphere. "Edge of Glory" didn't do that. I'm surprised that she kept on the same leather one-piece for the entire video! I was like, waiting for something to happen. Like for her to jump off the staircase like in her "Idol" performance, or for the sax player to start break-dancing or SOMETHING. I see why people enjoyed it's simplicity, but I just didn't like it.

For the record, the mods wouldn't ban someone based on a difference of opinion. If your opinion is different from the majority, post it anyways. If you look at the rules and guidelines of the guild, it doesn't say diddly about where it's acceptable if someone gets kicked from the guild because they think differently.
But getting back to the topic at hand, the video itself is a nice change of pace from the usual over-the-top string of past videos. The earlier conceptualized videos were great, riveting both visually and in story (granted, it's not Goethe but it's still much better than the average video), but somewhere along the way it became too gimmicky and cheesy. The video for "Born This Way" had a hard time balancing out solid storyline and filler unlike "Telephone" and "Bad Romance", and "Judas" was just far too literal. "Edge of Glory" is refreshingly simple, and looks back to when she was just a girl in New York writing songs fresh out of the drop-out line at the university. It's genuine, it's realistic, it's a bit 80s (which strikes a chord with Fiendette very well), so I give it a thumb up.

hanimonster Mrs.BonJovi I've been hearing rumours that this isn't the original video they were working on. That Gaga fired her director while on the job. I've heard a couple of rumours as to why but regardless i'm super curious now tis true the original director, kahn DID WANT THE MERMAID, HOSPITAL, MAN SCENE. gaga wanted it simple http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/popwrap/what_went_wrong_with_gaga_edge_of_wmc2lz5GRCoX6OoFiTbr4O It seems that the mermaid motif GaGa debuted on "Le Grand Journal" was supposed to be the video's theme as well. "[Joseph Kahn] had sets built for a hospital scene, Brooklyn Bridge, and a big underwater mermaid scene. It all made sense. Concept was done," Chancler wrote. But somewhere along the way there was, to hear Laurieann tell it, "an issue." One that, according to Chancler, stemmed straight from The Haus of GaGa. "GaGa changed her mind and told Joseph what to do. His hands were tied. The director just didn't have control over GaGa after she started making changes [and] Joseph's concept died." Read more: http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/popwrap/what_went_wrong_with_gaga_edge_of_wmc2lz5GRCoX6OoFiTbr4O#ixzz1PXSjQFbN only difference btwn them and me is that i liked the video I liked the video as well. I was actually shocked at how underwhelmed I was. But I like it! I liked that I could just sit back and listen to the song. I enjoyed the MJ overtones as well. This is not my favourite video. But this is Gaga's vision and I cannot argue what she wants.
