In between mouthfuls of the sweet grass, Kiley tried to answer his question without looking too piggish. "Yes," she said, swallowing, "We all have the same basic coat, although we come in many different colors." Taking a break from the grass, she looked around for the promised fruit. Spotting the round, red, delicious looking dainties plucked an apple from a tree and ate this more slowly now that the edge was off her hunger. "Do you have a herd Algalon?"

"I think I did once, but they have long since gone and to where, I do not know," the stallion answered. "I have come to terms years ago that I was alone now in the world." He studied her a bit as she ate. "It's is interesting that your herd have feathers as a bird does. I have seen some with feathered wings before and others that wear feathers as decorations, but never heard of any quite like your kind. Intriguing."

She really had no idea that her coat was anything out of the ordinary - she had grown up around Soquili who looked just like her. She looked at the stallion a bit more closely. He was... odd looking - to her sheltered eyes at least. But looks didn't matter so much. After all, they were speaking the same language and getting along, weren't they? "I suppose I must be odd looking to you," she started delicately, "but keep in mind that you're also a mystery to me. I've never seen any Soquili up close except for the members of my herd. Are all others as... bright... as you?" His body was mostly blue lke her own, but he had shining points that reminded her of the stars. His eyes were also strange. No pupil that she could see.

Algalon looked down at his coat, then up at the mare again. "I suppose I am different than others. I had never really known many to have stars on their coats like mine before, though I've heard tales of others." He shifted his weight, admiring her feathers. "Are you able to actually fly? It must be something to be so close to the stars."

She smiled at the mention of flight. "Yes, I can." She said, thinking about being in the air. "I haven't flown a lot at night though - there aren't as many thermals to help me along." She caught him alluding to the stars again... they sounded so magical when he mentioned them. Taking another nibble of her apple she asked, "Algalon, will you tell me about the stars?"

"Of course," The stallion said, smiling at her. "There is much to know. Where should I begin?" He moved to stand closer to her, positioning himself next to her, and looked up at the sky. "Have you ever seen the pictures in the night sky, the constellations?"

Taking his lead, Kiley looked up at the sky as well. "My herd had stories about some of the stars, but I haven't heard them since I was a little foal." It was nice being with someone for a change. She had been so lonely since she lost her herd. Algalon might be very different than what she was used to, but she found herself liking him for that. He was so interesting! "I was taught their names at one point, but I'm afraid I've forgotten all but Orion."

Algalon nodded, looking back down to the mare. He was finding her a much more pleasing sight than the night sky. "There are a lot of constellations, but I'm having a hard time finding one as intriguing as you." He lowered his head a little.
