"As if. If I'd acted civilly you would have just hung around longer. Your too stupid to understand you're not welcomed some place." Voreti knew she got lots of exercise. Particularly since she was the only one patroling a large territory. Not many stallions could even boast that.
His words only served to fuel the fire of her anger and fortify her determination to get him. The mare settled into the long fast stride she used for long distance runs. Her muscles were well warmed up by now and moved fluidly.
"What I do here is none of your business stallion. And I wouldn't eat you, your stupidity might be contagious." She sneered; how she hated this brave stallion.

Ion served around a hair pin turn and shot back the way he had come, his legs were starting to tire. This mare had a fire in her, that was for sure. his legs burned but they would be good for a little while longer, if he didn't trip. Ion slogged through a pond that had appeared out of nowhere. this slowed him down some and he fought to reach the other side. Hopefully he was far enough away from the viper so that when she reached the pond she wouldn't catch him. "Ugh, slime, how lovely," he said to himself.

Voreti was surprised by the stallions sudden change of direction. She raced right by as he started going the othe way. The black mare scued her hips around. She lost a lot of ground and speed, but now had him heading in the correct direction. Sucking wind down her flared nostrils, Voreti went charging after him.
By the time she caught up, he had already made it across the pond. She chose to go around. Loosing some ground again, but she reconned that she didn't have to sloush through the water and mud. She resumed her chase down of the stallion.

Ion was very unconfortable and covered in nasty smelling mud. Good maybe she will not bite me now. he thought. Oh I am so going to need a bath after this. Ion puffed up his chest and ran on hopefully he had not gone too far into the forest.

Voreti wrinkled her nose at the smell wafting back. Pew, she was glad she hadn't run through that pond. She was just starting to close again on the stallion, when she suddenly dug her hooves in and skidded to a stop, just at the edge of the forest.
"And Stay Out!!!" She stood there and glared, making sure he left the area.

Dark Ion burst from the forest like a freight train. "Wait is that grass?" he asks. His momentum takes him quite a ways away. "Ya recluse!" he yells back at the grumpy mare. "We could have been friends!" He turns around and trots off puffing. "Now for a long bath!" he sneers at all the mud caked to him.
