"Ah, don't think badly of him," She smiled sheepishly as Mac backed away, moving out of sight, "He's a really good person deep, deep inside~" It's just whether you are patient enough to stay around him long enough to get to the 'deep' part.
After Xiu left, she reentered her room and put on the black two piece swimsuit she had worn the last time. Then, she put on a pale pink shirt over it and grabbed a towel, slinging it over her shoulder. After slipping on a pair of sandals, she was out of her room and brisk walking down the stairs leading to the entrance of the dorms. On the way, she tied her hair into a ponytail; for some reason, she really did not think of tying it into a bun.
"You really are speedy~" Xiu would hear Lizzy say from behind her; judging from her tone, it was obvious that she was amused by that. She was slower, but not by much, since they sort of arrived one after the other. Taking the ghoul's hand, she then led them out of the dorms and to the gym. It was a short walk, and they were soon at their destination.
"Oh yes, you're wearing your shirt wrong," She smiled at Xiu, unable to resist a soft giggle as she looked around the pool.
"Maccccc?"

Mac had gone straight from the Demon Dorms to the pool, where at first he decided to just sit and wait. His levels of impatience rose, so his resolve to just sit and wait failed him; he decided to get a head start on the ghouls and actually go swimming. Shirt and shoes were removed, of course! He had dove fluidly into the deep end, doing most of his swimming under the water's surface. He was an adept swimmer, but he could always learn to hold his breath for longer!
Lizzy's first call didn't receive an answer; the brown-haired Reaper was under the water's surface, trying to keep himself from floating. Soon enough his lungs cried for oxygen and he pushed to the surface, breaking through with more force than he intended. Breathing in deeply he pushed his hair back and in the same motion wiped some water from his face, taking a bleary look around to see if the ghouls were there yet.
Which they were.
"Finally." He stressed, gripping the edges of the pool to pull himself out of it...and walk straight over to Lizzy, ignoring the other ghoul aside from a little glance. Instead of grabbing her though, he instead took the towel off of her shoulder and put it on the bench near his. A little suspicious, but probably fine! When he returned he nonchalantly moved beside her, draping his arm across her back to hold her opposite arm, which may have been the start of an affectionate hug...if it weren't for the fact his other arm hooked behind her knees.
Or that he lifted her up bodily like a princess ragdoll.
Or that in two steps he was throwing her unceremoniously into the deep end of the pool.
At least he was considerate enough to throw her far enough that she wouldn't hit her head!
(( Had permission from Dragain to GM Lizzy! ))

"Mac!" Her face lit up as she stared at him, wide-eyed, wondering what he might be up to. Her towel was taken from her, and before she could slip out of her shirt and sandals, she found herself being lifted up by the boil... And tossed into the pool, prompting a squeak of surprise from her.
A great way to start the lesson.
Since she could not reach the floor of the pool, she ended up sinking, her sandals floating to the surface before she finally emerged a moment after, taking in a deep breath before dog paddling to the nearest wall, grabbing and then clinging to it for dear life. A few seconds later, she found the energy to pull herself out of the water to sit on the edge of the pool, her sandals still floating, now out of reach.
Wordlessly, she slipped out of her shirt, wrung the water from it, and stood up, slinging the wet shirt over her shoulder. She then walked past Mac without acknowledging him, and straight to Xiu for a hug. After she had two near-drowning experiences, she did not want to be tossed into a pool unprepared.
... She can't even tell if he was being mean or just playing a prank. Maybe he grew psychotic from waiting for them to arrive.

Xiu's mouth was an 'o' as she watched Mac's arm slither (in what was in Xiu's mind, possessively) over Lizzy's shoulders. Blushing, she clapped her hands to her cheeks and smiled. Ah, how cute! And now--oh my, he was carrying her bridal style! He was a grumpy guy, but he seemed awfully sweet when he was with the pink-haired demon! Maybe she really should slip away to give them some private time alone--
Wait. Wait a minute. What was he doing with her?
SPLASH.
Xiu's face was devoid of any expression as Lizzy sunk into the deep end, with Mac standing around as if he had done nothing wrong. She continued to stare blankly even when the other ghoul climbed out, wondering what had just occurred. It wasn't until she suddenly felt wet arms slip around her that she snapped out of her daze, quickly returning the hug in a protective manner. Then she turned to the reaper.
Puffing out her cheeks, she glared at the boil for a few seconds before deciding to let him have it. "MAC! You...you...! That's terrible! How could you just throw her in like that!? With no warning or anything!?" That was most certainly no way to treat a lady like Lizzy!
"I think you should apologize!" She pouted at him, pointing straight to the pool, "Or at least get her sandals for her!"

Hand curled near his mouth, Mac watched the water thin out from the sudden splash of Lizzy's body into the water. He didn't move from the perch near the pool, just in case she would actually need his help. Soon enough it seemed that she did not, and he remained silent as she got out herself and thoroughly ignored him. That wasn't surprising really, but he did watch her move to the ghoul who, up until now, Mac had pretty much ignored.
"Easily." He commented with a shrug, gesturing to the pool. "Weren't you watching?" With Xiu his tone was irritated; he didn't know this Demon well enough to be nice or use anything but he 'default demon' attitude. "Listen, mouse-" What? He didn't know what she was. She looked like a mouse to him, with a Lion's tail, but a mouse nonetheless. "If we go on another field trip where there's water, do you think they'll be nice to her? At least we're in a contained area, without obvious monsters." Which pretty much meant he was not going to apologize to her, because he didn't see where he had done anything wrong.
"I've already saved her from drowning once before, do you really think I'd let her do it now?" Irritated beyond belief, he looked back into the pool and at her sandals. "I'll at least get her jackin' sandals bloody mary's ghost..." He grumbled to himself, jumping into the water to collect Lizzy's things.

She really just needed to cling to someone, and yay! Xiu is warm to the touch! While the pool water was not cold by any standards, there was something about hugging a warm body that was oddly comforting and nice... And there was no way she was going near Mac for a hug, not after he did what he did.
"It's fine, Xiu," She sighed softly, resigning to her fate of being 'abused' as she brushed her wet bangs to the side of her face; it's not like she had expected any sort of an apology from him. She just didn't expect him to suddenly toss her into something she was just starting to not dislike... That would be like tossing him into a nest of demons and letting them touch him or something.
She still refused to look at Mac though, choosing instead to focus on Xiu as she managed a small smile, tugging her towards the benches were her towel was, "Let's put our stuff down, okay?" Not that a wet shirt will do her any good when getting back.

"Wha--mouse!? I'm a baku!" She corrected, pouting at the error, "And even if you were certain that she wouldn't drown from this, it wasn't a very nice or funny thing to do, Mr. Grumpyface!" She came up with the nickname on a whim, but after a little pause, she thought that maybe she should keep it. Yeah, when she looked at the reaper, "Mr. Grumpyface" really did seem to suit him. As Lizzy mentioned, Xiu could see that he wasn't a bad guy (deep, deep down maybe), but he was most certainly rough around the edges. She foresaw herself butting heads with him in the future.
Until then, she allowed herself to be led towards the benches by Lizzy, but not before sticking her tongue out at Mac. She dropped her towel down by Lizzy's and, after eying the wet shirt, she smiled at the other ghoul. "You can borrow my shirt when we go back if you want?" She chirped, pulling off her own oversized shirt and discarding it on the bench, "I can just run back to my room with my towel." It wouldn't be too uncomfortable for her, seeing that her own swimsuit was a one-piece with a skirt that covered a fair bit.
Carefully scampering to the pool's edge, she peered into the water a little nervously. As much as she enjoyed swimming, it had been a while since she last went. She warily dipped the end of her tail into the water first and abruptly shivered. It was colder than she thought. Okay Xiu, you can do this.

The difference was, Mac still didn't like being touched by demons, he was just collecting a group of exceptions. Which, to date, consisted of only Charlie and Lizzy.
After gathering her sandals he brought them back to the rest of their stuff, placing them on a grill-looking bench to help the water funnel out and away while they were in the pool. He definitely noticed that she wasn't even looking at him, but for now...well, he didn't care. She'd get over it. What he had done he had done to help, and he would have done it even if the little mouse wasn't there with them. Which, right now, he kind of wished she wasn't.
"Mouse." He insisted again with a sneer, before downright frowning again at the name. Another one?! Ugh he hoped this one wouldn't stick! Continuing with the refreshing round of maturity he too stuck his tongue out at her, and stepped aside to do Mac-like things. Mainly things like making sure there were safety precautions in place etc etc. He was finished and was on his way towards the entrance when he noticed a certain little mouse hesitant on the edge of the pool.
...
Okay. He couldn't resist.
Despite all of his squicks about touching strange demons, he couldn't help but put the tips of his fingers against her back as he walked past her, giving her a light push towards the water. Luckily for her it wasn't a shove, she could easily stop herself from plunging in, but...the vague attempt was there. He didn't stop moving however, still heading towards the door, still in just his swim trunks and still soaking wet.
"I'll be right back, don't leave." He called over his shoulder with a wave.

"Wha--!?"
SPLASH.
She had been completely oblivious to the reaper's intentions and, combined with the fact she had been leaning over the pool, the light push was enough to make her lose her footing and sent her tumbling--not very gracefully either--into the water. She immediately broke through the surface, gasping for air and glancing around in complete confusion. What just happened? Did someone push her in? Who?
Then she spotted Mac.
"MR. GRUMPYFACE!" Oh yes, that name was going to stick, especially since the frown had given away his displeasure at the nickname. Speaking of being displeased, Xiu was pretty furious herself right now. Had Mac not been a close friend of Lizzy's, the usually-mild mannered Baku would have already found something (or many somethings) to chuck at the back of his head. As it was, it was very tempting not to grab one of the pool noodles and go after him with it.
Instead, the ghoul settled for yelling: "When you come back...just you wait! Just you wait!"
She was never turning her back to him again.

"That's very nice of you to offer, Xiu!" She smiled fondly at the ghoul as she spread out her wet shirt over the top of the bench, hoping for it to dry out a bit before they have to leave, whenever that is.
When Xiu went to the edge of the pool, Lizzy stayed at the benches instead, sitting down and staring into space as she wriggled her toes. She heard what Mac said, but like before, did not acknowledge him; instead, she decided to continue to daydream with a rather blank expression on... She was also trying to locate Whip, not quite sure where the bird might be.
That was before she heard the loud splash, followed by Xiu's voice.
"..." Another sigh, and she was up, walking towards the pool. Sitting down at the edge close to Xiu, she lowered herself into the water slowly, making sure that she could touch the floor with her feet before turning towards the ghoul, "Are you alright? I'm sorry... I thought he..." She thought he was more accepting of demons now, especially after that field trip, since even Arachne's view on non-Demons had changed. Apparently not.

Mac's response to the yelling of that new nickname? His waving hand turned to flip the bird over his shoulder, and soon enough the Reaper was jogging out of sight.
The real bird though, the one that Lizzy had been looking for, flew down from the rafters, whip-poor-will'ing up a storm and frantically flapping his brown wings. The little creature looked like he was an in absolute panic, and if anyone could understand avians they would have been assaulted with a loud 'WHERE IS HE WHERE DID HE GO I HEARD HIM AND THEN I DIDN'T DID HE LEAVE I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHERE DID HE GO IS HE COMING BACK HEY HEY HEY IS HE IS HE DO YOU KNOW IF HE IS PLEASE TELL ME HE IS WHERE DID HE GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO'.
The space between Lizzy's horns became a decent enough perching spot for Whip, and the Whip-poor-will danced from spot to spot in a hopping motion, still chittering away 'I CAN'T SEE HIM CAN YOU SEE HIM HE'S GOOOOOONE NOOOOOO HE'S GOOOOOONE WHEREEEEEEEE---'
Mac still hadn't returned yet, but his stuff was still there,

She might be ignoring Mac for the time being (indifference is better than hate!), but she sure wasn't ignoring his pet bird... Especially not since it was going 'WHIP-POOR-WILL' constantly and hopping about on her head. While she didn't mind that, she was a little concerned about it potentially slipping on her wet hair and falling into the water.
She's very sure that Whip does not swim.
"W-whip? Calm down!" She frowned, although she was pretty sure that he understood her as much as she understood him. Carefully, she tried to grab him off her head, using both hands to scoop him up in an attempt to calm him down, "Calm down..."

Despite still being angry at the reaper--and wanting to get back at him somehow--Xiu managed a smile when Lizzy slid into the water beside her. "Don't apologize! It wasn't your fault!" Besides, he had thrown her in too, and even if there had been good intentions behind the action, it still didn't make it right. Not to her, anyways.
Since Mac was no longer in the vicinity, the ghoul's anger dissolved quickly, especially when the poor bird suddenly flew down and began to chirp up a storm. "W-what's wrong, Whip? Lizzy, why is the poor thing so anxious all of a sudden?" She kept her hands poised near Lizzy's, just in case Whip really did take a tumble into the water.
"Maybe we should get out of the pool?" She suggested, wondering again just why Whip had broken out into a panic. "Where did they grumpy reaper go off to anyways?" It was his bird, after all, so surely he would know what was going on and what they needed to do!

Whip turned his chirping to Lizzy, jumping down into the ghoul's stretched hands. All the while he continued what he was doing, not caring what was being told to him. Just...OHJACKWHEREDIDHEGO WHYISHEGONE IDON'TUNDERSTAND HELPME AAAAAAAAAA~
"---Unholy Jack, Whip, calm down." Suddenly, the bird stopped all flailing, all chirping, and every other frantic gesture it was making. Head turned and huge black eyes staring wide at the Reaper who was standing in the doorway. He was still dripping wet, but this time he had something with him; a bag. A big one at that.
The bag was dropped near their things, and he leaned over to grab his shirt, ignoring the bird that left Lizzy to perch on his head, pulling on some strands of his hair as if to punish him. Each time it was pulled too hard though, Whip recieved a little swat.
"There. New towels, a couple extra shirts for you." An extra towel was picked up, and after shooing Whip out of his hair he started to towel off. "I've seen all I need to, I'm sure you're fine, so I'll leave you ghouls to it." He informed them, drying himself off like he hadn't before.

"I-I'm not sure," She frowned, stroking Whip's head to try to get it to calm down as she looked at Xiu, "Maybe it's nervous about something? I don't think getting out of the pool will help..." Her frown deepened at the Baku's next question, and she shook her head, "I'm not sure about that either..."
As soon as the words left her lips, however, Mac returned, answering Xiu's question. Well, sort of.
She was upset at him. However, when he appeared with the extra towels and clothing, she couldn't help but just let go of a bit of that disappointment, her expression softening a little. She was still refusing to talk to him though, giving the boil a brief nod to show that she understood his instructions before turning away, glad that Whip was calmer now.
