Keely had to smile herself. It was magic the way she could actually feel the warmth from one of his smiles. She almost got lost in it, just thinking of how happy she will be with him and his herd. Thinking about it now, it put butterflies in her stomach. It even made one of her ankles tingle. Though she couldn't think of any reason why tummy butterflies would make her ankle tingle. She had already forgotten about the sprain. Though, it could come back depending on her level of attention.
She nodded at his words. Her own coming out softly "I know you would not. And if you did, you would soon straighten them out to become a loving herd." She giggled at that, picturing him trying to get a herd of rough and tumble soquili to do dainty things. She was absolutely positive he could do it, too.
She thought for a moment, trying to think back on her days with Carlisle. "weellll." She said as she tried to think. "Carlisle always said I had a gift for healing." She tried to look deeper in her mind, try to remember what he had taught her. She smiled then. "Actually, it would be really great if you could meet him. And I could brush up on my healing while we are there." She started to bubble with excitement again. Not only did it look like she had found somewhere to belong after parting with her uncle, but now she had the prospect of seeing him and showing how well she was doing.
Life certainly was going well for the little mare who used to worry she would forever be alone.

The fact that she had a knack for healing was not surprising to the shaggy stallion - not only was she a unicorn but she was kind hearted and sincere. "I have never met a herd that would not appreciate another healer in the ranks." He told her with a slight chuckle. Healers were always welcome, who would turn away someone with such a valuable skill set? Only those who were not in their right mind.
Her second statement however gave the stallion a bit of pause, not because he did not want to go..but because he was wondering if he could take so much time away from the herd. Quickly he contemplated what needed to be done..and found the list depressingly long, but when he turned his attention back to Keely he could see how pleased it would make her for him to meet this stallion who she talked about so often and despite his duties he instantly decided that he would just have to make it work. "I would love to meet him."

Keely blushed and looked away shyly. She looked back at him and smiled. That is very true." She giggled with him. "I just hope I can do well and earn their welcome embrace." She smiled wider. She was getting excited again at the thought of having a herd to belong to. It came to her in waves. Ones of shock, awe, and excitement. The wave that had just washed through every fiber of her body was excitement.
Part of her excitement was also being able to see the stallion who had raised her since her parents disappearance. She gave a little happy bound right before remembering her ankle was still strained. That dang ankle! If she had hands, she probably would have slapped one to her forehead for what a goof she had been. She had just gotten done telling about how she was a healer, and yet always forgot to heal herself.
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Luckily the healing had slowly began to happen subconsciously. But it would have taken a day or so without her actively trying. She opened an eye and smiled at Ironforge. "Uhm, This is going to take a few minutes. I uh, just remembered I could heal myself....." She coughed and closed her eyes again. Switching the position of her hooves slightly to get more comfortable.
She had to take another deep breath to try and concentrate. all she could think about for the moment was telling Ironforge all her happy times with Carlisle and how he would like him. How she was almost swooning with happiness that the two most important men in her life were finally going to meet. The next step after that would be to start a fami------. She bit her lip and closed her eyes tighter. She couldn't think of that right now if she was going to heal herself. She had to make sure she wouldn't slow down the journey longer then it was going to be. She also couldn't forget that Ironforge had a duty to be with his herd.

Ironforge gave a sigh and a slight shake of his head as Keely suddenly recalled that she could help herself heal. Honestly he wasn't entirely sure how the Unicorn magic worked but it was just like her to think more about others then herself - that was actually one of the qualities he liked best about her. It was a quality that made him certain she would be an asset to the herd in the long run.
"Take your time." He commented quietly, not wanting to disturb her concentration any further. Turning his gaze from her as she healed herself Ironforge let his eyes wander through the landscape around them. Scanning for danger in such a fashion was a habit, almost as natural to the stallion as breathing. While he kept an eye on the surroundings he had time to wonder just what this Carlisle stallion was like - oh sure he had heard stories from Keely, but Ironforge tended to take such things with a grain of salt. All to often he found the stories did not match the creature he met. in this case however..for Keelys sake he rather hoped that they would be true. Pushing such thoughts away he returned his gaze to Keely with a questioning look to see how the healing was going.

Keelys breath came in fast and strong to burning lungs. She took several more deep breaths before she looked to see where the sun was now. It looked like she had been busy for about half an hour to forty-five minutes. She took a calmer deep breath now. It seemed as though for the past few moments she had been so concentrated on finally getting in the last parts of the ankle to heal, that she had forgotten to breath regularly.
She twisted slightly to examine the ankle. It seemed completely healed now. No sign of ever being effected. But she couldn't help but notice her sides were streaked with sweat, and for some reason there was an odd look n Ironforges muzzle. She gave a little sheepish grin at him, her breath coming in smoothly now. "Uh, I'm done." Almost as if to say a 'tada'. But she didn't think now was the time to make such a gesture.
She gave him a warmer smile now. "I hope I didn't bore you or any thing." She lifted her leg and wiggled her ankle for him. "All better though! I don't know in what order you want to do things though....." She nibbled her lip and looked to the ground to think. "I know you shouldnt be away from your herd for too long." Her brows furrowed and she gave a slight frown. "And I am not sure how long it will take for Carlisle to retrain me with some healing." She gave another embarrassed chuckle. "It appears I do need to brush up on my healing some time in the future..." She looked at him again, wondering what his thoughts on the subject were.

Ironforge gave Keely a warm look as she proclaimed herself done and by the looks of her ankle she had indeed managed to heal it..not that he had doubted her, surely a mare as kind hearted as Keely would be a fine healer..no matter that she often times did not seem as serious as the healers he had known before.[ A good heart and genuine affection for those one took care of often time trumped such things.
With her injury taken care of Ironforge found himself considering her other questions. "The herd will be fine in another care for a short time..so we shall return to the herd, appraise them of our impending journey and hten I will go with you to meet your mentor..if you have to stay longer then I can be away then I will just have to make frequent visits until you are finished." He proclaimed, having sorted it all out in his mind to a satisfying degree.

Keely's eyes lighted at the thought of their journey actually beginning. Though the thought of meeting his herd made her all jittery inside. Questions raced through her mind in a jumble of seconds. Would they like her? Would they doubt their leader for going with a silly mare while he should be with them? Would they think she was silly?
She gave a little cough, trying to will away the mess in her head. She gave a little butt wiggle and a half prance around the stallion. "Which direction do we start to go to your herd? Is it far from here?" She stopped, considering now. Talking to herself, she continued. "Though, I suppose it wouldn't be too far with how often you are able to visit me." She flashed a grin at him, then looked to the apple tree.
"You might have won this time!" She pointed her hoof at it, almost as if she expected the tree to be threatened by her. "But I will be back! And I WILL get my apple!" She turned to Ironforge and gave him a grin. She could go on her journey with a clear mind now.

Ironforge watched as Keely seemed to be both excited and perhaps a bit nervous about their impending journeys. Ironforge himself was not worried..the herd was a welcoming one and few of them would think to question him for bringing a mare like Keely into their midst. They would love her..he was sure of it, He did after all.
"It is not far." He assured her and since, by the way she was prancing around, he could assume her ankle was indeed fully healed he set off at a trot towards the treeline. "There is a small path through the woods and then a larger meadow, my herd resides along the other side of the meadow and a bit into the grove there. It is a good sheltered place with good friendly Soquili...I am sure you will like it." He told her as he went.

Keely took a deep breath as she closed her eyes. relaxing as his voice got a little further away. With renewed confidence, she opened her eyes and smiled to herself. This was the stallion she would live the rest of her days for.
Coming back to her surroundings, she realized he was getting a little further from her now. She giggled slightly and galloped to catch up to him. Now that he had told her where they were going, she nipped his flank gently as she passed him at a gallop.
Her giggle filling the air as the wind raced passed her. She would run till he caught up to her. wondering if he would join in her little game of tag. Though if it continued on with playful nipping, both their bottoms might be sore by the time they got to his herd.
It would be worth it to her. Seeing him turn into a young stallion and galloping along side her, she could picture the scene now. It made her heart swell to know she could have something like that. She had been happy with Carlisle, but this was more. Much much more.

Ironforge heard Keely come up behind him, he was not the type easily snuck up on but given the circumstances the shaggy stallion did not bother to turn and see her approach, he merely assumed she was catching up to him..so it was really his own fault that she took him by surprise with the n** before racing on past him.
Ah she wanted to play that game did she? Well Ironforge was hardly the type of stallion to spend his days playing game or acting like a foal and yet..with Keely...well it seemed like he couldn't really help him. One would just have to forgive himself if love happened to lighten his heart just a little bit. Snorting at the n** he set off after her. She was younger and fleeter of foot, easily able to outrun him if she really wanted too Ironforge was sure of it but Ironforge had long ago learned to use things to his advantage and he did so now, taking a shortcut through the brush to cut some time off a corner and gain ground, returning her n** lightly as his shortcut allowed him to come alongside her.

Keely laughed heartily as she turned to look behind her. Seeing the quick look of surprise turn into the smile she had hoped for lightened her hooves even more. She just barely had time to notice the fallen log in front of her. Gracefully leaping over it as she hung in the air before her hooves falling back to the dirt below. Her hooves kicked up more as she tried to catch the breath that had escaped just before her leap.
Keely could hear Ironforge's quick solid beats coming upon her. She took a breath and looked before her to make sure she had a clear path this time. Seeing she did, she chanced another look behind her, wanting to know how much of a lead she had.
She saw nothing. He was gone. Quick fear struck her. So fast it made her forget she could still hear his hooves. She slowed down slightly, rapidly looking around to try and find him.
Just then she felt the n** on her rear and she saw him again. She almost collapsed knowing he was still with her. She shook her head, trying to clear her head. Of course he was still here, there was no reason she should fear being alone. She looked at him and smiled. It was her turn to catch him again.

Ironforge was not sure what had brought about the brief look in Keely's eyes..perhaps he had startled her. Whatever had done it however the stallion did not wish to see it again. Seeing Keely as anything but happy was a change from the norm that the stallion did not enjoy.
He had a feeling however that asking her about whatever thought had caused the change would only bring the thought back to the forefront of her mind and he much preferred her smiling and happy. Snorting slightly the stallion dug in with his hooves and increased his speed so that he started to pull away from her. He snapped his tail at her in a sassy, catch me if you can fashion as he did so. It would not be long now before they reached the herd but Ironforge was willing to play along with this game for a while longer.

As soon as Keely saw Ironforge, the thought left her almost as quickly as it had sprung up on her. She didn't even know why it had taken over her to begin with. She knew she had never been lonely in her life, and there was no reason to be terrified of being alone. At least she couldn't remember a time when she had felt that way.
She gave a little exasperated snort at his tail flip. He thought he could outrun her? The slender, younger mare that she was. Sure, she didn't have the brute strength that he had. The bulging muscles that he seemed to posses under his shaggy coat. She might not have his stamina either. But she was the cheetah to his rhino.
She ducked the low branches, making sure not to knock her head off with their speed. Weaving through the blurred trees as her eyes narrowed. Almost leaving nothing but him and his surroundings in her vision.
She was catching up now. dodging the dirt being kicked up by his stampeding hooves. A few more feet and she might just give him that sore bum she was giggling about earlier.
