She laughed at that, nodding her head enthusiastically.

"That you do, my villainous master! It's the least you could do, after stealing me away from that prize of a... walking muscle." She shook her head, wondering again how that couple had turned out. She didn't think the guy would have been able to keep his girlfriend after that one.

And she would be smart for dumping him.

"Alright, we'll go our hunting after we get ourselves some food." She smiled brightly, her mood improved, though she did not forget that she now had a longer revenge list. She could have fun, but she never forgot what duties she considered most important.

Right now, that was getting a sandwich, but later it would be finding those knights. And as long as she had Alunite with her for both, she couldn't help but be eager.

"Oh, stop that pouting." He laughed. "You'll thank me one day ! He totally wasn't your type. Really."

Ahahaha oh god. That night, indeed.

"Well, then... what do you want to go for ? Another quick sandwich, then off we go ?" Alunite asked. He didn't look like he had anything specific in mind, really.

"I think that would be a good plan," she said. She made sure to feel out to see if there were any other powered up folks in the area, but there were none. She powered down when she was sure no one would be dropping in on them, smiling.

"I'll take you to the little place I got the last one. My treat, even though you kidnapped me."

Clearly that was what happened after the fight began and the dust settled. She checked her purse, just to make sure she did have enough for a trip to the lovely sandwich shop. She did.

"Oh, wait," she looked sheepish, knowing she needed to power back up. "Gotta get down first..."

He rose an eyebrow when she suddenly powered down, having for his part very well realized that, well.

They where still right smack dab on top of a building a few stories high. A comfortable jump for someone powered up, but now Gently was bound to have... issues.

Alunite, however, would have no problem. "Kidnapping, uh..."

And then he gently scooped her off her feet, holding her bridal style. "I like the sound of that !" This would have been an odd sight to anyone who might have been looking - Alunite didn't look like someone who could so easy lift a grown woman like that.

And there the purple-haired kidnapper struck again. Some damsel just didn't learn ! He gained a bit of momentum and then jumped, landing carefully in the alley below.

"Silly." He laughed, his brown eyes alight with amusement. And something else... fondness, perhaps ? He couldn't help it - he ran an hand though her hair before finally letting her down.

Now she could slap the hell out of him if she wanted.

Gently wasn't going to slap him. In fact, when he scooped her up she laughed and it completely ruined the fake protest she was trying to make. Like a beautiful starlet stolen by King Kong, kicking her feet gracefully but completely ineffectually and batting her hands against him like he was made of something dirty and she didn't want to get any on her.

"Let me down, you brute!"

She did find herself clinging to him when he jumped, though. It was quite a different sensation, jumping from a building while powered down and not in control of the landing. She felt a strange thrill, either adrenaline or actual fear, but it was fleeting and brief. He wasn't going to drop her, she was sure of that.

Once he put her down she smiled at him, staying near him without a trace of any kind of discomfort. Why would she be uncomfortable? She did, however, do something she had so far given him crap for. When he brushed her hair before letting her down she had blushed. The color lingered in her face as she watched him, her fingers lightly tracing his cheek as her eyes fell on his bruises once more. She felt bad for him, and for not being there, and for not getting revenge yet even though she had only just learned about it.

But her expression lifted quickly.

"Well, after such a daring way to sweep me off my feet," she said, recovering herself after a moment, "you've certainly earned that sandwich." She smiled brightly, moving to hook her arm in his and tug him with her. "You might want to slip into something more comfortable, though."

He said nothing about the blushing - hell, it was hard for him to not blush himself when she lingered and touched his cheek. Act of god, perhaps ?

"You think so ? I hear hole in chests are a trend this summer." He laughed, then finally powered down now that there was no need to leap off buildings anymore. And where Alunite had been now stood Matthew, wearing a t-shirt and jeans.

One had to wonder where all the hair went, and he seemed to be the first surprised by the sudden lightness of his own head, shaking it as if to chase away the weight of something that wasn't there anymore. "I hate that..." He chuckled.

Gently laughed when he shook his head, ruffling his now much shorter hair. Her own hair was short, but she was used to it that way: she wasn't sure what it might feel like to have a ton of hair suddenly and then just as suddenly be without it.

"It doesn't sound fun," she laughed lightly. She held on to his arm, leading the way but leaning on him as they walked. It took her a moment to realize she was doing this. Before it had been a play on the captor joke, and him literally sweeping her off her feet.

Now she was just clinging to him because she wanted to.

No backing down now, though. She was never one to let on that she was not always in control. Usually that meant not giving up in a battle unless she had justified it in her head as a conscious choice, and never considering herself the loser. It was a much different situation now.

She found herself oddly out of her depth.

"It's not too far from here," she offered brightly. And she was right. The sandwich shop, which happened to be a stationary food truck, soon appeared in front of them. It never closed, which was great as far as Gently was concerned. There were even a few other people milling around, eating.

"It is." He nodded, seeming all but oblivious that she was leaning on him. Probably for the best, else Gently might very well have been walking a tomato.

"At least it doesn't hurt when... you know." One would expect a gaping hole forming over one chest and on your forehead to hurt, yet it didn't. Or maybe it felt nothing like how it had felt that night, and thus he didn't notice it.

Maybe. But he shook his head again. He didn't want to think about it. Not tonight.

Matthew nodded, and sure enough there it was. He hadn't thought it was a truck, and he couldn't help but be a little surprised.

Gently was fascinated by the idea. She couldn't imagine walking around with a hole in her chest and being in anything bet pain. she looked at him in wonder, but decided pressing for further information would not be appropriate now that they were powered down.

She had to remember, after all, that there could be powered down senshi around, too.

Taking his hand now, moving from his arm because she was now dragging him to the queue. The truck moved through the line easy enough, and soon they could order. Once she paid for their food and they had their custom sandwiches in hand, she moved to sit down with him.

Most people were clearing out, so it was quiet.

She was looking forward to their knight hunt, though she wanted to change the plan a little.

"We'll go looking for knights once you're all healed up. I know it's just the face and it doesn't look that bad," she fudged that a little, to her it looked bad, "but I wouldn't want you getting punched in the face again and doing some permanent damage."

It was a weird thing, Matthew would be the first to admit. But it didn't -hurt-, not really. Not even taking out his starseed did, through he could feel it missing when he did.

It was really just... odd. It was the best way to put it.

The line moved quickly, and so he followed her with little resistance, holding onto his sandwich carefully.

...Uh ? "It doesn't look that bad, does it ?" Self-conscious ? Maybe. "Ashley like... got me make up." He made a face. "Seriously. Im not wearing make up." He pouted.

Gently laughed at his embarrassment, though realized that might be mean spirited and stopped. She just thought it was cute that he was protesting make up. Boys would be boys.

"Make up isn't just for girls, and doesn't have to be a shameful thing, you know. We wear it all the time in the theatre, and not to make us prettier for the boys. Actually, sometimes we have to use make up to make injuries like that, so I guess you just got it reversed."

She smiled, enjoying her sandwich but more than that enjoying the company.

"Just give it a few days and it'll look fine. It's just... dark... right now, is all. If I had been hit in the face that hard I don't think I'd've come out of my house yet." It was easier to talk about it casually if only because she knew they would find the knight that had done it and make him regret it. Maybe give him some of his own bruises to worry about.

Or worse.

"This is fun. We should make this a thing. You know, sandwiches and hanging out. I mean, what's the point of having a job if you don't enjoy some time with your colleagues?" True enough, their 'job' was unconventional and unpaid, and she imagined 'hanging out' would involve a lot of fighting together and stealing energy, but that was the fun part.

"Ah, you do theater ?" He hadn't noticed that, through in retrospect, it seemed like a stupid question, given how she'd well.. acted ! "I did some in high school... I wasn't all that good at it."

He was the kid who played the background tree.

"It used to look worse." It had already been two days since that night, and his enhanced healing had kicked in rather quickly. "It's probably gonna be gone soon, yeah... But people have been asking and I have to say I ran face-first in a door."

It wasn't a very solid excuse, but it was the first thing he blurted out, and now he needed to keep his story straight or people would find holes in it.

"Yeah, we should." He said with a grin.

"I'm sure you're better at it than you give yourself credit. I mean, hell, you made one fine big bad guy," she grinned at him and winked, never going to let that one go. Ever. It had been a wonderful moment, and she knew he hadn't been very comfortable. That was probably part of what had made it so hilarious.

At least he had gone with her on it, and hadn't backed out or copped out. Two good signs of an actor at heart, whether he knew it or not.

"Into a door? Oh dear. It sounds like you're in an abusive relationship. There are places you can go, you know." She laughed at that again, feeling very comfortable and lighthearted now. Despite the earlier conversation and the decision to go knight hunting. Or perhaps that played into it, as well, as she did love a good hunt. Whatever the case, she found it easy to smile and laugh, and she did so freely.

"I'm sure you'll find someone who treats you better," she lifted what remained of her sandwich in a mock toast to that.

"Well, it wasn't like you left me much of a choice, didn't you ?" He mused, taking a bite of his sandwich.

He pouted again, but this time in a clearly over-exaggerated fashion. "Don't worry, I'll tell the policemen where the bad door touched me."

...That had been funnier in his head. Oh well.

He raised his own sandwich to her 'toast', looking very much amused indeed.

Gently chuckled and watched him for a moment, then a thought donned on her.

"Oh! I am going to be at camp for a little while this summer, so you'll have to manage without me. I'm sure this comes as crushing news, but at least now you know where the sandwich store is? Just try not to get hit in the face again while I'm gone."

She smiled, though she reminded herself to write him. When she wasn't busy with other things, like stealing energy and keeping the campers from throwing each other in the lake.

She finished her sandwich, a surprisingly hearty eater despite her small frame, and leaned back contentedly. Even knowing they were both agents of chaos, or that tied directly into it, she could get used to feeling this content.
