Eliya ~
The female elf couldn't resist the smile that lit her face as the Altmer male responded playfully in kind. Muscles eh? Eliya was tone and strong but she had never had anyone tell her so. Well it was a compliment. Unless he was outright joking.... but...internally shaking her head, Eliya stopped fretting about his choice of words. "We'll see I suppose." At his wink she felt a slight blush begin to creep up her neck. He thought she had pretty eyes? Oh Eliya stop it! She chided herself silently. She was reacting like a school girl. Where was her cool, her sarcasm, her witty banter?
She pointed a finger playfully at him. "You are one to watch out for. It's always the charmers...." Eliya turned away quickly as if something had caught her eye and let her words fade as if she hadn't planned on continuing them. 'It's always the charmers who are the most dangerous' she'd been about to say. But she'd chosen not to. This was her day off. She had no interest in playing the killer, or letting Zel know she was one for that matter. As she feigned sudden interest in the brick wall they were walking by (as Zel continued to speak), she suddenly realized that there was actually something shiny stuck in a cracked part of the mortar.
Could it actually be? Reaching out she grasped the marble and pulled it out of the crack, careful not to let it slip out of her fingers. "Gotcha!" She whirled around triumphantly holding the blue marble out for Zelindor to see. As her glee filled eyes met his grey ones she quickly lowered her gaze to pocket the marble, embarrassed that she had reacted that openly to someone she barely knew. She quickly looked back up, her eyes scanning and looking everywhere but at the other man as they continued to walk down the road. After a few moments she decided to change things up. "Care to make things interesting?" She raised an eyebrow at him. Eliya was one to enjoy not only a good challenge, but a good gamble as well. "I say we place a little wager on who finds fourteen marbles first."
Her vivid green eyes sparkled with adventure as she spoke.

Tanna smiled, throwing relief into her expression to give Velryn the impression she was glad his health was intact. She then peered at what he showed her with feigned wonderment, however, one thing he said peaked her interest. ”Oh, I didn’t realise they were so easy to find, I thought I was just lucky. See, I have one too,” as she finished speaking, the Bosmer plucked the marble she had found earlier from her pocket and showed it to him, wearing a triumphant grin. While he examined the glassy orb she pondered his suggestion, and finally decided to accept despite the fact the icy voice in the back of her head, the voice that usually spoke through her lips wanted nothing less. But Tanna had to keep up appearances and socializing with another member of the mages guild was a perfect pastime for this fabricated lifestyle she led. ”That would be nice Velryn, though I doubt I will be much good at finding these things if so many are hidden in high places,” her tone sounded disappointed and she used one hand to gesture her slight height in comparison to his very tall frame. She smiled at him again, showing him she didn’t mind about the height difference really, and went to put the marble back into her pocket. Unfortunately, or rather decidedly, the marble slipped from Tanna’s fingers and rolled towards the cobbled steps down to the alchemist’s garden below, she let out a little squeak of shock and pursued the glassy orb. When she caught up to it, though it had stopped in the long blades of grass, she tripped and landed on her knees, ”oops,” she breathed and scooped up the marble with both hands, then clutched it to her chest.
In this position it wasn’t hard for the keen eyes of the assassin to see there was something unusual about the daffodil shaped flowers that grew in the garden. Perhaps, in order to keep up her ditzy appearance Tanna should have ignored them, but in this case she wondered if it would really matter, she had just dropped a marble and tripped over her own feet. Velryn would surely see this as just luck and not something more complex. Tanna got shakily to her feet and dusted off her knees, before she approached the flowers and bent closer to one of them. She took hold of the stem gently and tilted the opening of the floret over her palm and out rolled another shiny marble. She then went up to two more flowers that seemed to be struggling under a slight burden and they too contained marbles. ”Wow these things really are everywhere, did you find any Velryn?”, she inspected another flower as she spoke but it was empty, as she had already guessed. She gave up after that and stood back to wait for Velryn.

Emane Anarion Health: Perfect
Location: Imperial City - Market District Mood: Irritated xxOut of her pure domain of not knowing exactly what to do about this god forsaken marble hunt Emane pulled herself up from the ground and walked towards the nearest door. As she exited Green Emperor Way she found herself entering the Market District. As she walked her eye's moved along with the people walking past her going their own seperate ways. Emane let out a loud yawn as she slumped over and watched the ground as she walked along her little path. Maybe I should just give up on this hunt and go do a few fights for the arena. It wasn't a bad thought. She could earn some money and buy the armor she so cherished. It was unlike Emane to be in such a depressed state. She was usually the one always yelling out insults to those who would give her a look as they passed by. This marble hunt was just getting to her now, it was a silly thing really with not much meaning to it. As she slumped along a shiny object caught her eye.
xxShe neared to the shining small marble that lay in the grass on the side of the street. As if the thing were a living breathing animal that she must catch to feed on and live Emane crept upon it like a predator. Her hands reached out ever so slightly ready to pounce on the damned thing. In a sudden burst she threw her whole body onto the marble which still lay on the ground. Her hand scooted under her and grabed onto the marble trapped under her body. When she felt it safely cupped in her hand she jumped up suddenly with triumph. "WHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I HAVE CAUGHT YOU!!!!!!!" She yelled out so loudly that the whole district must have heard her cry of triumphantness. The Imperial was so proud of herself that she held onto the small ball as if it was her own child which was hard to believe since Emane was probably the last person in Cyrodiil who would have a child. She would make a horrible mother and the thought of even having a mini p***k of herself following her around made her almost vomit. She held the marble up to the sky where she could gaze upon it's glory in the sunlight. As she did so she caught a familiar flash of red just down the street. She looked over and caught site of the Altmer Eliya. A devilish grin crept onto her lips as she dashed quickly over to the redhead who she still needed to come up with a nickname for. She had been meaning to for quite some time now but never did find a suiting one. Perhaps Pup? Well anyways she needed to greet her favorite Altmer in all the kingdom. "Ah Eliya darling what fancy seeing you here. It seems that we keep running into each other doesn't it?" She said still with her devilish grin. Her eye's moved up to the man standing next to her. After examining him for a second she found him of no interest and quickly went back to looking eye in eye with Eliya.

Eliya ~
"Ah Eliya darling what fancy seeing you here. It seems that we keep running into each other doesn't it?"
Eliya heard Emane before she saw her. At the other woman's greeting she rolled her eyes but smiled. The warrior was one of only a few people Eliya actually enjoyed the company of. Granted when they had first met it hadn't always been that way. Eliya had found Emane irritating and irresponsible....but their time together taking out bandits solidified a certain level of respect between one another. After they first worked together they eventually ran into one another again - at the sanctuary of the Dark Brotherhood. Both were equally shocked to discover the other's allegiance to Sithis, but over time they became more then acquaintances. Now they were at the stage in their relationship where they were kinda of friends. They would possibly be better friends if they saw eachother more often, but Eliya's studies kept her vastly busy.
"Emane." Eliya greeted the other woman, smiling. "Fancy a little marble hunting hmmm?" The Altmer gestured to the handsome male Altmer beside her. "This is Zelindor. He studies at the Arcane University as ---." Eliya had been about to saw 'well' when her attention was immediately captured as the sun reflected off something. Without even a word to the other two she deftly hopped on top a barrel and reached towards the top of a shop sign. Her fingers clasped upon something round. Hopping down she turned to the other two to show them her prize. It was a rosy pink marble. This time her joy was a bit more restrained, but it was evident she was thrilled. He was curious to see how she would end that sentence. It's always the charmers who what? He wanted to ask, but considering the change of topic he thought it best to just let go of the subject. "Well, damn." he said with a chuckle. "That was absolutely effortless! You keep finding marbles like that and you'll be oozing with enchanted items by the end of this." Still, the thought of a wager enticed him. Competition typically enhanced Zel's performance on just about anything, ever since he was a child. So why not?
When Zel was interrupted, he was interrupted multiple times in a stretch. And so it was that suddenly a loud, rough bellowing was heard as some creepy madman... or madwoman, if he heard right, erupted in what seemed like evil, maniacal laughter. Tilting his head in that direction he saw an Imperial girl with a wild look in her eyes - running straight towards them. His first instinct was to get on one knee and press forward a sword and spell to break the charge, but of course, that would probably be looked down upon considering they were smack in the middle of the Imperial City. So he simply stood there as he soon noticed she wasn't looking at him but at Eliya. Relieved, he continued to scan the walls for marbles, but the sun did not typically do wonders for him. Zel was definitely more of a night person, and looking up at all in such blinding sunlight was irksome. So he missed the marble up there and, once again, Eliya grabbed it effortlessly, giving a casual, introductory smile and wave to the new girl before turning back to the redhead. "Well, if you keep finding those marbles like they come out of your a**, this is going to be one difficult wager." he said, "But I'm not the kind to shy away from a mission like this, however improbable." he crossed his arms with a smirk. "Name your terms."

He wasn't all together exactly adept at swarming walls, but he had experience in scaling cliff-faces: the general activity was similar. Furthermore, he was in good physical condition, and well up to the task of ascending a time or two more if it meant getting a hold of more marbles. He wondered what it was he would ultimately trade them in for. The sorcerer had heard tell of what inventory the two eccentric 'hosts' of the scavenger hunt were offering, but hadn't truly thought about what it was he would want. The challenge alone was a pleasant diversion, but he wasn't a man completely bereft of materialism.
He'd sort that out when the time came.
He took a step towards the smaller elf when she knelt to retrieve the escapee marble. "Oh, lucky you!" the dusky-skinned man commented when he saw the small collection she uncovered within several sturdier flowers. The hider, whoever he or she is, is certainly clever, he thought. Velryn bent forward slightly to inspect another bed of flowers, but when this proved fruitless his eyes grazed the gutter instead. A momentary sparkle attracted his attention and his grin came back yet again.
Velryn dropped to one knee and attempted to pull the small bottle-green marble from where it was wedged into a sewer-grate. It didn't budge. A small line appeared between his narrow eyebrows as he thought a moment before he slipped his dagger from his belt. Carefully, he used the tip of the blade to ease the treasure from its place. When it finally popped free, he was quick to take hold so it wouldn't roll away. "That makes three for me," he announced. The dunmer admired it perfunctorily as he sheathed his dagger and rose. The green marble went into his pouch.
He felt no jealousy that Tanna had found more marbles so far. There were rumours of literally hundreds of marbles hidden within the city: he would find his share in time. Her fortune, rather than discouraging Velryn, raised his hopes. And it pleased him to see her so sociable and happy.
"The flowers give me an idea. Would you want to start with the Arboretum? It seems like a good place to hunt and might be less crowded than, say, the Market or the Waterfront." Velryn provided both a suggestion as well as his reasoning. "Unless you have an idea, of course," he added.

Emane Anarion Health: Perfect
Location: Imperial City - Market District Mood: Irritated xxEmane was just about to tell her how irritated she was about this hunt until Eliya jumped up and grabbed a marble on top of a sign. As she popped back down and faced the to with the obvious joy that she tried to conceal Emane just glowered at her. Her eye's moved down to the marble in Eliya's hands and seriously considered stealing it away from her. Emane has had horrible luck all day and this really really tall guy next to her wasn't helping one bit. As she listened to the male talk she slowly got over herself but still had that irritated look on her face. Her eye's moved back up to the tall male and calculated out what they were talking about. "You having a contest without me?" Emane spoke while giving Eliya an accusing look with pursed lips.
xxThe raven haired beauty was not having a good day and it showed on her face. The only things that had made tolerate is so far was getting that marble and running into Eliya. Watching the redhead now reminded Emane that she needed to go visit the Dark Brotherhood sanctuary. It had been a long while since she had last been there. The Dark Brotherhood did not take kindly to deserters. She was no deserter though but it would appear that she was if she didn't go check in by the end of the month. But she did not feel like going all the way up to Cheydinhal. A beautiful but tiresome journey. Perhaps she would be able to visit Bruma if she went up that way but she wouldn't like to go alone. Maybe Eliya would like to come along? Emane would ask her when this male mage was not close.

Eliya ~
The mage assassin grinned as the other Altmer agreed to a wager. When he asked her terms, she didn't have a chance to respond before Emane interjected, obviously irritated that she was being left out. "Oh, Emane you can join too." Eliya waved her hand as if it was more than obvious. Hmmm terms of their wager.... If it had just been her and Zelindor she probably would have suggested dinner, but now that Emane was in on the fun.... well the bar needed to be raised. She raised an eyebrow mischievously.
"How about the first one to collect fourteen marbles gets to choose a task that each of the losers must complete?" Eliya was proud of her suggestion. Who knew what kind of trouble or fun that would get the trio in to? She made this suggestion as they continued strolling down the street and without waiting for a reply, bounded off as something shiny caught her eye. In a flash she was back, having found not one, but TWO marbles. Both were a bright purple color and triumphantly she stuffed them in her pocket. "Well? Unless either of you have a better suggestion?" Her jade eyes flashed with anticipation.

Balamaethor "Bale" Calminaion Ranger- Apprentice of the Fighter's Guild Imperial City- Talos Plaza District Someone Lost Their Marbles
The City was buzzing with excitement; all over the place, people were finding marbles. Bale, however, had no such luck. Then again, he wasn't looking particularly hard; he was more concerned with keeping his wallet. He had been robbed in the Imperial City before, but the last time he had tried to get assistance, he had gotten the craziest of the City Captains- Hieronymous Lex. He had gone off on some tangent about a thief named the "Gray Fox" and then told Bale he had more important things to do.
As he carefully made his way through the crowd, something caught his eye- a small, seemingly mundane bag. He stopped to pick it up, and looked inside. Four small marbles sat in it, gleaming in the light coming into the bag. Someone must have dropped the bag. He chuckled to himself at the joke- they lost their marbles. He pocketed the bag and continued walking.

Tanna approached the space where Velryn was kneeling to see what he was doing, feigning curiosity was another thing Tanna did. She perched up on her toes to try and get a better look and watched as he struggled to free the marble. ”I could try,” but he took his dagger and effectively removed the marble. Tanna smiled warmly at him, clasped her hands to her chest and tilted her head slightly to the side in a very cute, girly way. ”That’s wonderful Velryn, you know I could handle the small gaps if you’re doing the climbing? Small appendages,” she giggled and wriggled her fingers in front of him. Internally Marilien felt like vomiting – still she could always kill him later for his marbles and to satisfy her desire to strangle him right now. ** After he finished speaking Tanna considered his idea, in truth she could find no fault with his wisdom other than it annoyed her that she hadn’t thought of it first. But the mage just smiled, yet again, and pushed the loose hair framing the right side of her face behind her elven ear, ”that sounds like a brilliant plan Velryn. You’re very smart.” The Bosmer gave him a playful, light punch on his arm and laughed again. ”You lead the way.”
------
On their way out of the University, Tanna touched Velryn’s arm and pointed towards a gutter lining a single storey building, ”Look Velryn! I think that might be a marble.” The smaller mage looked estatic, but allowed her face to fall, ”but I don’t think I could climb up there.” Lies of course, but he couldn’t know the truth. She smiled though when he pointed out a shiny object he had spotted behind another grate, only the gaps looked much too small for his wrists. She grinned then and bounded over to it. Carefully, she eyed the marble first, then scrunched up her hand as small as it would go and maneuverer it through the bars. The Bosmer groped around the back of the space for the marble, a look of concentration on her face and the tip of her tongue just visible at the corner of her lips. Eventually she felt not one, but two marbles and she used her dainty fingers to push them to the grate, where she plucked them out with her other hand. As she pulled her hand free her wrist caught a few times, while the ‘clumsy’ mage took a few seconds to work out what position she had used to squeeze her wrist into the gap in the first place. She knew the answer of course, but she approved of her own acting skills. Finally her wrist was free and she held up the two marbles for Velryn, ”Here you go! You spotted them so they’re yours. See, I told you I was good with small gaps!” She chuckled and dropped the marbles into his palm.
((ooc: Sorry for the God mod but I thought it might be nice for them to seem like they are working together XD Bonding you know, and I came up with this while a bit pissed. I can change it if you want, and no, Velryn doesn’t have to climb up to get the other marble(s).))
((Note. ** She won’t kill him or attempt to. I know the rules of the event. Marilien is only entertaining the idea in her head.))

It was nice to be complimented, but he truthfully didn't feel altogether the brilliant mind she seemed to imply with her exuberant behaviour. Still, it was pleasant to be out and about with someone as cheerful as Tanna. The University was often filled with dour, bookish mages--at least, the Alchemy Labs were. "We'll stop by the Market later for a bite to eat. My treat," he said aloud as they made their way side by side to the gate between the University and the Arboretum.
------
The dunmer ascended a wall for a second time. Since he chose caution over speed, it took him a few minutes to reach the gutter running around the tops of the walls of the building. He clutched at a shutter and dangled out over the street, his hand straining for the gleaming marble, obviously bereft of a sense of danger and heedless of his precarious placement. A more skilled wall-climber would wince at his performance, but he was nonetheless successful. Velryn returned to the ground foot by foot, jumping the last few feet. His back and shoulders and joints felt sore, but he figured it was good for him and didn't complain to Tanna.
"And this is for you," he announced, exchanging the two glass orbs she had retrieved for the large blue one he had gone after. "That brings me up to six. I should find out what it is I should get from the exchange," he said aloud, adding the marbles to his belt pouch.
At a water pump on the corner, he rinsed his sore hands and glanced at Tanna. "What do you think you'll get?" he asked, and beckoned that she should follow him. There were a series of statues in the Arboretum and he had it into his head that a crafty person might conceal marbles anywhere on them or nearby. Shrubs, trees, flower beds and benches were also scattered about and offered possible hiding places.

Zel laughed as his crossed arms loosened and relaxed along his sides. The thoughts running rampant through his mind at the mention of her terms were definitely both amusing and interesting, to say the least. Perhaps it was the wide range of possible outcomes that piqued the elf's curiosity, or perhaps he had already agreed to the terms before he ever heard of them. "Well, I never thought you were one for whips, chains and black leather, but I guess we all learn something new each day, don't we?" Zel joked with a playful wink, his smirk still wide. "That being said," he continued with a pause once he was done laughing, "I accept."
Her friend, Emane, was definitely an odd one. A quick glance would identify her as vibrant, wild, and brutally honest. Traits that Zel typically respected in an adventurer and that, no doubt, allowed for a great deal of humor, but also tended to shy towards... possessiveness. Zel only hoped she would not come to see him as a threat to her friend's undivided attention.
"Now, if you two ladies will excuse me," he said, walking out of the alley and into the pavement, turning around and walking backwards as he smiled at Eliya. "I'm thinking this particular alley has been all but mined out by one particularly fortuitous female. I'm gonna go try my luck at the waterfront." he said with a c**k of the neck, innocently signaling the way though the gesture could be perceived as possibly beckoning her to come along. "I've got a pretty good feeling about it." Naturally, he would not be blurting out his destination unless he wanted her to bolt in the same direction with the intent of getting there first. He had definitely found an interest in Eliya and didn't mind having the huntress tagging along. Zel tended to rely on his instincts, since, perhaps as some act of providence or perhaps merely through chance, they were exceptionally good. It seemed odd for a mage to be so "primal" as the others would call him, relying on his gut so heavily during dangerous and important assignments to propose alternatives that most would never even consider, but he generally seemed to come out successful... or at the very least alive.

Emane Anarion Health: Perfect
Location: Imperial City - Market to Waterfront
Mood: Fleeing xxEmane listened to Eliya's challenge. Emane figured that she would lose though since she appeared to have the worst luck out of all in the Imperial City. "You're on Altmer." Emane said with extreme speed she then bolted out of the alleyway almost running straight into Zelindor. But was saved by a poor little Bosmer elf who happened to be walking in front of him. The two crashed to the ground and the Bosmer happened to have quite a large mouth and started to shout insults at Emane. She became deeply enraged and yelled back at the Bosmer making fun of his height and what not. The two carried on for quite some time until eventually Emane threatened the little mans life with a half drawing of her sword. His eyes went large and he ran away yelling for the guards. Emane turned back to Eliya and Zelindor. "Better get going little ones. Don't want the guard to catch us now." She said while grabbing Eliya who by now had exited the ally way and taking Zelindors robes.
xxShe forced them towards the great doors and tried to keep them moving towards the Waterfront hence that appearing to be the new hunting grounds. Emane didn't like the idea of being in the same area as Eliya seeing that she was grabbing all the marbles in sight not leaving any even for a mouse. She wasn't giving the two quite any choice to escape and move into a different area since she had quite a good grip on them. She finally freed them when she breathed in the fresh watery air of the Waterfront. "Now, where are those little critters?"

Tanna took the marble from the Dunmer with a big smile on her face, she also noticed his hands but felt no remorse. If he was better at climbing then he wouldn’t be hurt, but she didn’t say this, she couldn’t. Instead she appeared concerned and looked in her bag for a salve, but then paused, ”actually I guess you probably have something better, but if you think this might help,” she passed the vial of healing salve and followed him to the water pump. When he spoke of the exchange, she too was genuinely intrigued, the poster had mentioned rewards but Tanna was still none the wiser about what those rewards could be. ”We could go and find out?” She spoke at almost the same time he asked her what she was going to get, ”sorry,” she said for interrupting him, ”I don’t know, I don’t know what the rewards are and I haven’t really thought about it. I guess,” she paused to think, and then a grimace formed on her face, ”I guess, if they have them, I could get a new staff. Don’t tell anyone but I lost my mages staff, and the instructor has been asking me about it, I suppose if I replaced it he probably wouldn’t notice. But judging from your face they don’t give out staves as rewards.” Not entirely a lie, because it was indisposed, but, she did know its whereabouts. She’d used her mages staff until the charge ran dry, shortly after getting it, then, since the charge ran out during a fight with a scamming mercenary, she found out that staves break easily when physical force is applied. She’d left the remains under a rock in the Nibenay Basin, and dumped the corpse in the river, but Velryn didn’t need to know that version.
”I guess I’ll find out when we find enough marbles, we’re only allowed to exchange fourteen right?” In truth it would be for Marilien’s agenda that the Marbles would be exchanged, and Tanna was just contemplating if she would need to think of an excuse to leave Velryn, so she could go to the exchange in private later. He might ask questions if she chooses something, she isn’t supposed to be able to use. Then again, the poster mentioned magical items too, perhaps she will find something useful amongst those and not seem suspicious. ”What are you going to get Velryn?” Just as she asked the question, her eye caught sight of something shiny hiding under a Fly Amanita fungus, she knelt by it and retrieved a marble. ”Hey I think you were right about coming here,” she made her way back over to Velryn with her sixth marble, ”so? What are you going to get?”

Eliya ~
Eliya raised a single delicate eyebrow at Zelindor's words. Whips? Chains? Black leather? Okay so yes she did happen to wear black leather at times...his laugh was infectious and she found herself giggling a little. She covered her mouth to stop herself, wondering what in the world had come over her? The Eliya of today was not the regular one, that much was for sure.
Disappointment surged within as the male Altmer excused himself from the two ladies. Eliya covered it up before it made its way to her face however, instead putting on an exaggerated pout. "But Zelindor, you have quickly become my good luck charm!." Her protest went mostly unheeded but she was momentarily confused by his actions. They contradicted his words...unless she was reading too far into his body language?
Her attention and thoughts on the manner were quickly diverted however as Emane collided with a Bosmer elf. Eliya was slightly amused at their quickness to mouth off at one another and she skillfully, yet unnoticeably made her way so that she was closer to Zel. Then Emane pulled our her sword. Sigh. Threatening a citizen in broad daylight in the Imperial City was such a no no....but that was Emane for you. Eliya allowed herself to be dragged to the Waterfront, slightly annoyed but not enough so that she would shove the other woman off her.
Zelindor however....Eliya was sure he didn't appreciate the other woman's brash behavior. But how would he respond? Perhaps he found it amusing?
