Sparing a moment to look over his shoulder, he wished he hadn't. Where the other boil once was, there was definitely a pony...but a BIG one. A horse, to be more exact. He was white, and huge.
If anything Remi learned not to pick on the people stronger than he was, and while granted he was a second year... that doesn't make him impervious to attacks. The kitsune was fast, faster than any normal fox by any means. He was also cunning enough to know to try and slip around things too large for a horse to get through...
But if it were a game of JUST speed? Remi would lose hardcore. The other boil was gaining footing on him, and fast too. He let out a frustrated yip at the 'neigh'.

If Remi was going to run about in zigzags and weave through the brush, he might have slowed Calder down, but he wasn't some field pony. He knew how to run in the worst areas. His legs navigated rivers, jumped through the impossible fallen trees and vines of swamps, and through open fields. Being at the end of his last year, he had run this area plenty of times, over and over again. If Remi wanted to give him a run, Calder was all for it. In fact, it even lightened his mood and brightened his spirit. Nothing like a good run to cool your temper.
That didn't mean the fox boil was off the hook, and there was one way he knew to punish little boils. Taking a page out of his parent's book, he got close enough, the thudding of swift hooves close at Remi's tail. Craning his neck, Calder took the tip of his teeth and nipped Remi right on the backside.
Done, he slowed down, done with the chase. The n** proved not only that he shouldn't have made fun of Calder, but that he was faster. At least in this situation. Done with the lesson, Calder fell into a easy trot, starting to walk. Stopping suddenly would do nothing good for his pounding heart, but he was feeling rather merry, head held high and trotting about as if eh was the racing horse that won the championship.

A quick attempt to dart out of the way was stopped by the hooves near his tails. That was the direction he original was going to head... choosing not to dart between a huge horses legs.
Any attempt to dart the OTHER way was quickly stopped as he felt....
"WHAT THE HELL YOU BIT MY A$$" A loud shriek followed and a faint fox-like noise once again. A little throatier due to his size, but none the less it said 'OW'. The n** had caused the kitsune to jump a few feet off the ground. Making a rather almost feline like move, the six tailed fox turned around to face his attacker....
Whom was prancing around like some fancy prancy shmancy shmuck. Yes, he knew those were not real words, but damn if he cared at the moment.
Instead of speaking out again? ...He chose to flop his rump (which was hurting) on the ground and -GLARE-....from a distance.

Calder was happy, showing off with a little circling trot that would have made a show horse stop to admire. As he moved around, he sang a little song. "I won. I won. I wo-wo-wo-wooon." That is until he felt the eyes upon him. Turning about, he stopped to smile at the boil before trotting over with a grin and let out a little whinny of a laugh. "Ohhh. Whats' tha matter? I thought you'd like the bite." Take that boil! You got served.
He rose his head up and trotted around the now glaring fox. "Nips are what bad boils get, Mr. Foxy Male." He nuzzled the back of the boil's head for sport. "You wook so cute when you're frumpy."

The entire time the kelpi was prancing around, he just stood there and glared..... tails lashing. Oh the horse thought he was some hot shot? It was ON. He might have won this round...but remi had a few things up his sleeve. Blue eyes darting towards the 'pony', his blue muzzle parted into the fox version of his usual smirk. He just noticed the singed hair on the other boil.
Paybacks a b***h aint it?
Well at least it showed one thing, Remi was amused by this other even if he pissed him off to no end. The nuzzle now, that caused im to blink eyes wide for a moment. Turning back in to human form, another flash of light and fire later, he ran his fingers through his hair to move it out of his face. Turning, he looked at the horse once more. Approaching... he laid a hand on the side of his neck, patting a few times, a friendly gesture. "Your a pain in the a**. I now can say that to you confidently."

Calder's tail flicked side to side as he was patted, a very friendly and nice gesture to which he happily accepted. When Remi removed his hand, Calder shifted back. Instead of fire and flashes of blue, his was monotone white as a rolling fog clustered about him and soon revealed the same boil from before, much shorter than the large horse from before.
"That's what my parents tell me." He happily pointed out, before patting the other boil on the arm. "...but they are usually the ones being a pain my rear." Doing all the nipping for his bad behavior.
Smiling brightly, he shot out a hand. "The name's Calder."

"I'de be willing to bet currency on it." He chucked and shook his head a few times, making a point to rub his back end once because it DID still hurt. "I might have the bruise to prove it, not that i would be walking around showing my a** off to anyone... but sitting is going to be interesting."
"Kind of ironic, my first day back and someones already bitten me in the a**." It was clearly said in good humor though, because a hand shot out right after his and gripped the shorter males tightly with a shake.
"Remi. Dont think this gets you off the hook though." He smiled, a twinkle in his eyes. Clearly this meant that Remi was already planning paybacks.

The handshake was short but simple. A little old fashioned but Remi was his senior. Not that manners really mattered once you nipped someone on a rump. The twinkle, Calder thought, was just his imagination, though he wondered what he might get in retaliation. If it meant seeing Remi again, it would be fun, though he wondered if he'd get bitten at some point as a pay back.
"Sorry. Didn't mean to n** you too hard. Hope you can sit in class, and didn't know you just came back. It's almost the end of the year. Seems everyone is coming and going." Barth only recently left to deal with some things of his own, being rather vague on the details. He wondered if this was something older boils did a lot. Leave school to do their own thing.

"im sure people in class will draw their own conclusions to why i can not sit. Not that i really give a rats a** what people say about me." A shrug. Stepping once away he glanced him up and down once, sizing him up again.
Looking away Remi waved a hand in the air carelessly. "Honestly i did not want to come back to this school, but my family forced me back in. Keep the family name strong and all of that crap. It's not like i am some huge role model anyways. Heck i only have 6 tails."
"I missed a lot of my second year... so i get to take it all over again. REALLY looking forward to it... see this is my looking-firward-to-it face." Clearly he was not amused at the idea.
"....Anyways. You scared about exams?"

To inspect, Calder turned his head to check out Remi's butt, but more for the fact he was counting tails. "Six?! That's five more than I have. Why do you even need that many tails?" Maybe it made for a really plush seat? No need for a chair in the end though Calder always found it a tad hard to sit in chairs from time to time. Six tails probably made it nearly impossible.
Standing straight and quitting his tail inspection (and the briefest of moments to really do check what junk he had in the trunk), he shivered at the thought. "Yeah. I never took an exam like this before. I have no idea what to expect. Everyone in school is talking about them and I don't even know what I'm supposed to study up on to get better. I really want to do good." And make his parents proud.

Did Remis face just turn a slight tinge of red? "I only have one in this humanoid form... only when im in my true form are all of them visible." He crossed his arms a bit. Remi was so much all talk and no walk, clearly. "People always assume im some sort of blue dog because of only one tail."
The tip of his tail twitched back and forth, a feline like movement. "If you haven't been studying up till now well then... good luck. Honestly? I failed my exam. But that's because i consider myself a lover not a fighter.... or a trickster." He wiggled his eyebrows a little.
The kitsune would so much rather trick someone, and then haul a** away, than be there for the consequences. Oh yeah he totally lost that battle at the end of first year.

Calder stood upright, noticing that there really only was one tail, and resumed conversation. That was, with a deep frown. "I'm....not that great of a fighter. All the battles I've been in, I'm been pretty....useless." The thought made him both sad and nervous, thinking of the Exam now. "I'll...probably fail too." He could study all he wanted but in the end, his luck and his ability to fight were very poor.
He tried a weak smile that was rather uncharacteristic of him. "I guess I'm more of a lover too."

"I took the exams with only one stage of my powers intact... Now i have three. Hopefully ill pass at the end of second year this time." He couldn't help it, he had a smug grin on his face. A hand reached out and set ontop of the boys head, ruffling his white mane. "Cheer up kiddo, you never know until you try. I wont lie that the test is hard, but they do it to show you how much you suck. I think its to try and motivate you to try harder.." Looking up thoughtfully, he removed his hand from Calders head.
"Or at least thats what i think, anyways. Not that my opinions worth anything." A shrug. "I'll cheer for you all the same."

The pat on the head made him hitch his shoulders up and smile, feeling a tad warm in the cheeks. It was a comforting gesture and he greatly welcomed it, having a bit of a soft spot for people who touched his ears, neck, or cheeks. It helped to calm some of the tightening from his stomach as he thought of exams and what he could and couldn't do.
When the hand was withdrawn, the first year looked up and smiled. "Really? Do they let people watch?" Oh no, that might make him just as nervous! "I'd like to be there to cheer all my friends on. I'll - " He smiled. "I'll cheer you on too....if you want." They weren't friends, but Remi seemed nice.
