Grus was caught off guard by the leg thrown out. She toppled to the ground, letting out a cry of surprise. She hit the ground roughly, twisting to roll onto her knees and get out of range.
Her foot slipped as she rolled over, and down she went again. God damnit she muttered, gritting her teeth as her knees took another hit. At least those bruises could be explained away when her dad saw them.

Mica could see her target now and could see that said target was down. Having no problems with kicking someone when they were down, Mica reeled her foot back and kicked again, aiming for the girl’s ribs.
“ You’re in over your head, Senshi.”
Had the Senshi had more brute strength or some martial arts training then things might’ve been different, but as it stood Mica felt she had the upper hand. Perhaps this Senshi would provide her first Senshi starseed. Not that she’d brag about beating the Senshi of Feathers - how ridiculous - but at least she could say she killed one of the flashy, frilly cockroaches.

What was going on? She was the good guy right? So wasn't she supposed to win?
The kick flew true and hit her square in the ribs, and she gasped, rolling away from Mica. Then she was up on her feet, holding her side. She quickly scanned the area around her- there wasn't much in the alley that could help her.
She grabbed a metal garbage can lid off of one of the receptacles and threw it at Mica like a frisbee. Hopefully it would hit and at least slow her down.
Grus' mind wasn't working right. Her first concern should be the guy that lay on the ground right? But her concern for herself was stronger, and she felt bad. What would happen to the guy if he didn't have a starseed?

A trashcan lid did not make for a particularly fearsome or painful weapon, but would it did make was noise. Mica tried to catch the lid and failed, the lid sliding through her hands and landing on the ground with a clatter. Scowling, Mica’s eyes fixed on the troublesome brunette.
“ Stay still and I’ll make it fast.”
Of course, the pain would still make it feel like an eternity, but Mica neglected to mention that part.

Sailor Grus was panicking.
She wanted to use her power again, if only to get away, but she could feel her low energy starting to take it's toll. She couldn't shoot again. There was already a bruise forming where she had been kicked, and her body was tired. Her right knee bled sluggishly from the fall.
"Get out of here." She said, pulling out her senshi phone. She had only used it once to travel to her star of power, but ********* had taught her what the buttons did. Her finger now hovered over the "Signal" button.
"Get out of here." She repeated "And I won't press this button. If I do, every senshi within a mile will hear it, and come running. Do you really want to deal with that many of us?"

Mica’s eyes narrowed as the Senshi pulled out a cellphone and threatened her. Really, she shouldn’t be surprised: exchanging one dirty tactic for another. The Senshi had realized that using magic to cheat wouldn’t be enough, so now she resorted to threatening to summon enough backup to overwhelm Mica. Of course, Mica could respond in kind with her Negaverse crystal, but from the way the Senshi was talking, there was a chance she didn’t know about Negaverse communication crystals and Mica wasn’t about to enlighten her.
Taking a step back, Mica’s tight gaze turned into a cold glare.
“ I will remember this, Senshi.”
With that Mica was on the roof in a couple of leaps, mind already at work making plans as she made her forced retreat.

Grus watched her leave, eyes narrowing as she suspected a trap of some kind. In truth, she wasn't sure the button she picked would even do what she said, but it was better than dying.
She looked at the man on the ground, his eyes growing duller and duller with each passing second. She bent down onto her knees, feeling for his pulse. She knew it wouldn't be there, the faint flutter of blood beneath the skin, but she pressed his neck anyway, a tiny spark of hope waiting for the beat of a heart under her fingers.
But she skin remained cool and still. He was dead.
Her eyes filled with tears that fell on his torn shirt. She couldn't save him. She was a super hero right? She was supposed to save him!
She started to cry, slow tears rolling down her cheeks. What if he had a family? She realized she couldn't been seen near a dead body. And her body was shaking so badly she might just throw up. So she rose from her knees, whispered "I'm sorry." And ran off, finding a place to power down. She returned home, crawled into bed and cried herself to sleep.
