Sam was so busy trying to fire at other targets, he had completely forgot about this own. When he looked down, he saw that he only had two left. One was his center light and the other was just on his side. “Two.” He said to Lily.
The boy nodded. Laser tag was a good way for them to train safely. At least it was teaching them practice in aiming and attempting to be stealthy. However, Sam was pretty sure, with the amount of lights that were out, that if this were a real battle, he would have been dead a long time ago.
Determined to go out in a blaze of glory, Sam decided to run through the small hall, back towards Nate, shooting kamikaze style in every direction.

Nate saw the boy running toward him an arched his eyebrow. He grinned, standing his ground like in any good western, lifting his gun and holding it in both hands as he looked down the sight. He kept his calm while Sam shot at him randomly, firing off a few shots right at his attacker, hoping to take out the last two lights before his own blinked out.
"Argh! You got me!" he yelled and he flopped over dead, glad for a moment to rest and catch his breath.
He had never run around that much in a game of laser tag before. Usually it was stealth kills and generally being obnoxious. This time he had been 'fighting' for his 'friends'.
That was a fairly generous thought, considering he had just wanted to kill them on his own, instead of letting someone else do it.
"I never thought I would go this way," he said, his breathing evening out. He grinned and sat up, looking to see how Lily and the younger boy were doing. If they weren't dead too he was going to be a little angry about it. But even then, it had been fun, so maybe not much.

Lily laughed a bit shocked as Sam took out Nate in a blaze of glory, but his little stun seemed to be just the distraction that was needed finish the shield girl and her buddy. She waved goodbye to them as she Sam took out two of their lights and Lily was able to take out the last.
Peeking around the corner she saw Nate and Sam, Nate out of the game. Sam she was not sure since she could not see his back, but it didn't matter as the time limit sounded, a winner was announced and it was requested that everyone head to the exit to turn in the chest armor and guns.
Lily came out of her hiding place and ran over to Nate and Sam. "That was awesome," she said, "Though I think the next training session should have more light." She was laughing with a bright grin.
She looked at the pair, as she unsnapped the uncomfortable chest plate, "how about lunch? Hmmm, Sam? Nate? I could really go for a chicken sandwich. On me of course."

When time was called, Sam looked down to see that he too had actually been hit. His last remaining lights were out, and it was even possible that it was hit own doing.
The boy’s stomach grumbled. “Sounds good Lily. I want a hot dog.” He nodded at her, but when he turned to look at Nate, his smile faded. Though they had played together, and Nate seemed to be… not so bad today, Sam couldn’t help but dislike him a little. In his head, Sam was wishing as hard as he could: please say no, please say no. Spending anymore time then he had to was not high on his list of things to do today.

Nate got up and followed them out of the game once the lights came back on and the winning team declared. He pulled off his vest, not caring one way or the other if his 'side' had lost or won. He hadn't been fighting for them: he was just shooting everyone for the sake of it.
He had just happened to find people he knew and almost liked. Not that he would admit to anything more than almost. It would just go to their heads, then they'd start bothering him to hang out and do things for them.
Bleh. Friends could be tedious when they realized they were, in fact, friends.
Pulling off the last of the gear and dumping it to the floor near the return station, just to be obnoxious as per usual, he looked at Lily.
"If it's your treat, then sure," he grinned.
Maybe he had seen Sam's look of not wanting to hang out, and that propelled him to agree. Or he was just hungry. Either way, it didn't bother him a bit to waste some time with them, and get some free food while he was at it. He ruffled Sam's hair teasingly, nodding at Lily.
"Let's go get something. Shooting you people made me hungry."
