"It seems as though we put the hands on backwards, they would naturally twist - so the twisting flesh would remain, but the end result would place the hands in their 'original' position." Malodore peered at the visible hand, examining her wrist and the torque of the skin there, tilting its head to one side.
"Naturally, though, the orientation would not be what you are currently used to. It may be better to leave well enough alone."

Amrita was, once more, trying to grasp what the good Doctor was telling her. It took her a pointed few minutes to process, and once she had she did press her lips together thoughtfully.
"Yes...I think...I'm used to this now." Her reversed hands and feet were at one point a curse, but now she wasn't sure if she could function without them. It was an unfortunate side effect, but it was one she had grown accustomed to. "Um...Besides...I kind of like them." She admitted in a tiny voice.
"...Oh!" A previous conversation with someone else was recalled. "If it's possible...c-could I keep this?" She pointed at the skull part of her face. "I...I want a full body but...I would kind of like to keep the open skull too..." She just wasn't sure how she could have both! She also wasn't sure how off this would sound to the Doctor, or if it made sense or was doable to be both full bodied in the skin department, but to have an open skullface. HMM.

Malodore nodded. "Of course - it is your choice. A skilled doctor should be able to execute whatever the patient desires," it added, puffing up a bit with pride. "Pulling back some of the dermis rather than having it be exposed through rot ought to be a simple enough process."

"I know you'll do a really, really really good job." Amrita smiled at Malodore, resorting to strumming her fingers against the tabletop. That was another thing she had been plagued with recently...restlessness. What she had before was starting to not be enough, and she was itching - and apparently antsy - to get into something new.
"Umm...I can't...can't think of anything else." She finally admitted, the strumming fingers instead turning to twist her hair thoughtfully. "I really trust your judgement, and Christof's, and Riley's...so..." A vague handwave and she trailed off, not really sure how to express it any further than that.

"Va bene," Malodore said, sitting back with an open-beaked smile and an air of general satisfaction. "I believe Christof has been collecting parts - perhaps I could speak with him, and we could walk through and select what you want. You can have an eye for your chosen future appearance, and I could check for viability and stability."

It was turning into something common for Amrita to not understand what Malodore was telling her. Sure if she put some thought into it she MIGHT be able to figure it out, but as far as these recent comments? All she got was 'Parts shopping'. Which was pretty accurate, if she stopped to think about it. Which she didn't, as she caught sight of a certain Zombie ghoul with a skeletal arm and visible cranium.
"...I want to be like her." Amrita breathed out in a tone that could only be expressed as extreme admiration, a backwards hands up and pointing at the ghoul. "...Sammy." The Zombie was someone Amrita had admired from afar, ever since the raid on Christmas.
"Oh! Um, Th-thank you, Malodore, f-for, um, everything I just...have to go now!" Because Sammy was leaving, and Amrita suddenly had all the courage in the world to attempt to follow her. The Plague Doctor received an overly enthusiastic wave, and then the little Vetala was off, trying to get through the crowds to stalk follow her hero.
...*A*

Malodore blinked, then tilted its head in bemusement as Amrita hurried after its friend. Sammy was, indeed, an excellent ghoul to look up to... but my, that had been quite sudden!
But it had a plan now, at least. A good, solid plan. The plague doctor rubbed its hands together in anticipation. It would have to speak to Christof before too much longer, and schedule another rendezvous with Signorina Amrita...
Ahhhh. The pursuit of science.
