"Ah, but I can bother to make the effort. Sometimes. Maybe. No matter what Fluorite might or might not have told you, blackmail wise." He winked, then took care of the rest of his sandwich while it was still safe to do so.
He really had no idea about the whole fascination with the hole in his chest. His starseed was nested there right now, through he knew from experience that he could take it out - Fluorite had been rather grossed out by it and told him to just stop playing with his god-damn life force already. It hadn't really harmed him in the least.
Those whole thing was just, well. weird. Alunite made a face that pretty much amounted to a pout as he was nudged. "Hey. Somehow that sounds... even more silly."

Painite laughed and nodded her head, watching him pout.
"It might be. But hey. If you own, you can't feel bad about it. Anyway, Senshi and those goddamn Pages don't have opinions that matter, and I think the long hair looks cool as is. No Leia buns required."
The Captain smiled at him, sans deviousness or teasing this time. She remembered how weird it was for her, when she first joined the Negaverse and didn't know much. She always had a kind of confidence about her, or at least seemed like she had. That didn't mean she had it easy, though. There was always room for doubt. And she had never lost any of her memories, so she could only imagine what it was like for a corrupted senshi.
She already loved the former senshi Lyra, Ammo (not just because Ammo and Pain sounded like a good Western movie). As far as she was concerned, corrupted senshi were awesome additions to the team, and if she could do anything to help them, or at least make their tenure easier, she'd be game. Plus, Alunite seemed like someone she would get along with easily.
Sighing, she glanced around for some idea of the time, knowing there were people wandering around just begging to have their energy drained. Or, if she was lucky, a senshi or a page to catch and taunt.

...Alunite wasn't really sure how to take that, really. "Ah.... Thank you ?" Was his cheeks turning red ?
Well, yes. They actually were. Too bad Fluorite was nowhere around this place - she would have had enough blackmail to go for a good, long while.
It was a little hilarious, really. No one had ever really complimented him like that before.

Painite looked at him and she grinned, seeing his cheeks slightly reddening.
She couldn't help but be amused by that. And she also could not let it go uncommented on, of course. She lifted her hand and pointed to her own face, as if indicating that he had something in the same place she was pointing.
"You've got a little red... oh, I see. Awww."
She smiled at him, eyes bright and amused, and then got to her feet, offering him her hand. It was unclear if she was inviting him to stand up, or hand her the garbage from the sandwich.
"Back to work, hm?"

Oh god damn oh god damnit.
He shook his head, as if it would somehow make it go away. Obviously, it did not. The next course of action ?
Denial. More than a river in Egypt ! That is, Alunite proceeded to act like nothing happened, getting up on his own like a good boy and disposing of his own sandwich wrapper.
"Yeah, back to work we go, I guess."

The Captain watched him as he got up without her help, and also chose not to give her the wrapper. She chuckled, nodding her head.
Alright, she could work with that.
"As long as you stop glowing like rudolph's nose, we'll be alright. Can't sneak up on people with a warning light, though," she teased, moving close to him just to ruffle his hair and then move away from him.
She waved over her shoulder with a laugh, motioning for him to follow her. She wasn't sure where she would go just yet, but the point wasn't to find a place. It was to find a hapless victim, as always. Except tonight she had company. Company that was proving very fun to talk to and, even better, goof around with.
If it turned out he hated Pages as well, Painite would have to keep him around.

Alunite grumbled a bit, but the 'rudolph glow' was thankfully dying down pretty damn quickly at that point. He really hated how easy it was to make him blush ! The good thing was that not many people bothered to make him happen.
Thankfully.
Grumble he did, but he just followed. Why not, right ? "Where are we going ?" Hell, she was the captain here. Really, Alunite was more than happy to just follow along with whatever an agent had in mind as long as it wasn't completely, utterly retarded.

Painite shrugged her shoulders.
"We'll find some dopes and steal their energy, I think. Have you ever had much interest in traps?" She was just making conversation. Of course, her favorite method of collecting energy involved complicated plots and a lot of room for error.
Improvisation was more than fun, but she liked to have the framework, the details, and improvise the less important parts. Like when things went wrong or the escape.
At the moment she was wondering how else she might get him to blush. If he couldn't take a simple little honest compliment, she wondered what his other 'glow red' buttons were.
She imagined those she might have to find in time, which was fine by her. A good plan often took some time to research.

Traps ? "I usually just wait for drunks to stumble out of bars." He shrugged. How Fluorite-like, but given that Alunite was following Fluorite most of the time... Well, it made sense.
Through it hadn't been with her that he had done his first proper draining, though he wasn't sure if Painite knew Ilmenite. Maybe they did - the negaverse seemed rather tight-knit.

"Aha! I do too! But I like to play with them a bit."
She laughed, imagining she could give Alunite similar lessons to the ones she had given Fluorite, and it would probably be repeat information for him. She grinned, nodding her head.
"Drunks are fun, they never know what is going on," she chuckled. "I've got to be a bit more careful about where I set up my traps though. I was waiting out of a restaurant, not a bar, and managed to catch another corrupted senshi, like you. Do you know Ammo? She's such a sweetie."
She hummed to herself, looking around for the closest bar. It was still a bit early for drunks, however. She sighed, rubbing the back of her neck. It was a very quiet night. Not great for hunting, she thought.

"You'd think they would be more careful, given how Destiny City is." He certainly had been. Most of the time. ...Maybe. "But I figure that works out in our favor, doesn't it ?"
Ammo ? Ahhh. "Ammolite ? I've heard of her, but I havn't met her yet." Soon, through. A little meeting of sorts had been set up for them already.

"I think people like to live in denial. Particularly people already in need of slamming their heads on a bar, stone cold drunk. They want to live like there aren't monsters and bad guys running around, trying to get them in the dark of the night."
Painite grinned. She took so much pride in being one of those bad guys. Others might want to defend their right to be the heroes of their own stories, but not Painite. She was perfectly happy being the bad guy, if that was what they wanted to think of her as. They gave her a role to play, and all the while she did what she needed to do, while having all the fun she could with it.
Why not be the bad guy, when it was so awesome?
"Ah, yes, Ammolite. I always assume you all know each other, since you're all the same kind of thing, but I guess that's kind of a stupid way to think. I don't know all the other Negas. Hell, I don't even know all the other Captains. Personally, at any rate." She chuckled. She led them to an alley, hoping there might be some folks coming out of the nearby bar early. Instead, they stumbled on a couple, trying to sneak away with one another. She grinned.

"I don't think it's such a far-fetched generalization to make." Alunite nodded. "Given that there are so few of us. Through a lot of them seem rather... Elusive ?" He yet to find Vivianite, through he had heard of her. Same of one named Alkaid. There were whispers of more but... nothing else. No familiar auras to reel him in, nothing.
Alunite was, on the contrary, not exactly elusive at all. He was easy enough to find, being out most nights doing something or other, following Fluorite along or just on his own, like tonight had been.
Thankfully, Alunite had turned in the alley just in time to be mostly able to hide himself - hole in chest was, after all, not subtle at all. He gave a small nod to Painite, waiting to see the master in action before he would step in.

Painite laughed, pondering her options. Her clothes weren't exactly normal, but with drunk people it didn't really matter. She didn't have to explain herself to them, and if she did, she could just thunk their heads together or something. Even so, she decided to power down, making sure no one was watching. She motioned for him to wait then took a breath.
And then let out a high pitched scream.
She ran into the alley, looking like she had no where else to go. Spotting the couple, she ran to them, almost plowing into them in her haste. She gripped the male, which was not much appreciated by the female, but Gently ignored her.
"Help me, please! There's someone after me! He's chasing me and he's going to hurt me! Please, please!"
The drunken man, encouraged by her words and the way she was clinging to him so helplessly, put a comforting arm around her and looked down the end of the alley expectantly.
"I don't see anyone. You okay? Hey, don't cry," he looked at her as she cuddled against him, her face buried against his chest. He seemed rather pleased with this, looking over her to spot his girlfriend glaring at him. Gently turned in his arms, which made him turn more toward his girlfriend, away from the mouth of the alley. The three were trapped in conversation now, and she imagined Alunite would take the opportunity.
Meanwhile, Gently was having a lot of fun clinging to the man despite the woman's warnings for her to let him go, accusing her of some scam just to paw at her boyfriend. Soon she was accusing him of being in on it, because he was a jerk. She was not a happy lady and Gently let her know, saying, and trying not to grin while doing it, that a nice, handsome man like the guy was too good for her if she couldn't spare a moment to help someone who was scared. The woman lifted her hand to slap Gently for that one.

...This wasn't quite what Alunite had in mind, and he looked pretty much like a deer in the headlight when Painite just... powered down and went for it.
Oh. right. Gently was a theatre girl, wasn't she ?
Problem was, Alunite was not a theatre boy in any incarnation. He took a moment to settle himself, then jumped right in the alley.
"Hey ! You stop that !" He screamed, trying to look as dangerous as possible. It was hard for a 5'4" man in a dress to look dangerous, but he hoped the whole hole-in-chest factor helped. "Im not done with you yet, pretty ! It's not gotta hurt... much..." He let out a clipped laugh. It had been meant to be a sterotypical bad guy laugh. It came a little short.
Clearly, Alunite needed acting lessons.
