((I actually prefer not to post images, so that's just fine with me, Surf.))
Proudly, Ember stood before the contingent of wolves, watching the stranger alpha's every move. Perhaps this was a time to explain to one who would listen. ... But Ember did not intend to submit to anyone this day. Not here, not now, not after her dinner had been chased away. What could have fed her for days was now lost. She would have to hunt again, and it was unlikely now, with the scent of blood on her, that she would be able to surprise another deer. "I was on the hunt when your wolves intercepted me, depriving me of a much needed meal. It was my deer, from my territory, and they claim that I had no right to take it down in your lands, though it did not come from them."
Though she was terribly angry, she spoke calmly and clearly, projecting her voice so that all could hear. "Your wolves would attack me. Will you do the same?" Though she was gravely outnumbered, she was not afraid. She was the equal of any of these wolves. She had held her lands alone, with no help from any other. It was true that she had gotten caught up in the hunt. Instinct pressed her to feed well, to keep sleek and healthy, for it was welping season. "Any of you may call your pack to assist in your hunt, but I must hunt alone. Surely you can understand why an interference in a hunt would anger me. It is not just IsraKaiya that must provide for itself in this time."
Ralastor's presence did not surprise her. She knew that he was waiting for her answer. It was unlikely that he would let her out of his sight until he got it. ... If he received a negative answer, he might very well press her for a positive one. The young alpha was very determined, she would give him that. He would not like the way the elder alpha treated him. Ember could not count on the situation remaining in fragile stability. At any moment it might escalate into a full blown confrontation, and if it did so, she wanted to be prepared. Her gaze flickered for a moment onto Quinlan, and she watched him unflinching. If he were so foolish as to attack her, he would learn how unwise such an action was.
But he was not her concern right now. Right now, it was time to deal with the leader of the pack who had so challenged her. "The pup should not be here, with the threat of battle looming." Though she was ready to fight if she must, she was not going to attack a pup, nor was she going to allow Ralastor or any of his ilk to do the same. She cursed instincts that told her to protect the young, even young that were not her own. They were not as strong in Ember, perhaps, as they might be in that pup's mother, but she possessed them still. If they acted now, they could bring him to safety, instead of simply guarding him. There was a chance that one of the Warugaruga wolves would break through their defenses, and she could not count on them not to attack the clueless pup.
---
Brutus was on the move. As was his custom, he did not approach directly, moving through the trees with the subtlety that his own natural camouflage could provide him. Why had his father called them there? Nox came, of course. He had expected that he would. Nox was ever obedient. ... Brutus, if given a chance, might well have turned on his father, the wolf who had stolen himself and his siblings from their mother when they were but pups. Life had not been kind to Brutus, or Nox, or Tasso. The lessons they learned were depraved, brutal.
But he must stand with his father, or face the consequences. It had been drilled into him time and time again that if he did not fight, he would hurt. So, Brutus would fight. In that secret place within, he still held his mother's memory, and the memory of the love that he no longer felt for any creature. She would strengthen him now as he came to join his father. Silently, he made his way to Ralastor's side. He did not speak up as his brother had. There were things about the situation that he did not yet know, and... was that the lone female? The wolf whose scent he had smelled on his father?
He had tracked her before, only to have the trail lead nowhere. Brutus had not expected to see her out in the open like this. It was strange. Stranger still that she had not simply pulled her disappearing act, the way she tended to do when he got anywhere near. His gaze scanned the wolves that faced Warugaruga, and he listened, ears flicking here and there as new pack members arrived. They were outnumbered. What did Ralastor plan to do about that?

Dumaka's ears had lifted instantly at the howl from Ralastor and followed to his feat at nearly the same speed. Ralastor rarely howled for the pack to come to his aid so hearing it now caused a great deal of tension to ripple through the omega. Damn, Dumaka thought as another tension filled ripple ran through him , Must be bad. The fox coloured wolf knew at once that whatever the situation was he would be a of little help. The proud alpha would never summon for his pack unless he was in a situation where there was no way he could fight it away himself. And Dumaka was not a fighter. His feet began to run in the direction of the howl just behind Nox. Several situations sifted through the omega's head as to what could be happening. Non of the realistic options that he thought of made it seem like he was in least bit capable of aiding his pack. Dumak's breath started to become heavy with apprehension as he ran through the boarder lines of the IsraKaiya pack. Not good at all, not that there had been much expectation for the situation to be favorable. He forced himself to slow a little knowing full well that he would be of even less assistance if he appeared panting and weak. Soon he heard voices and growls carrying through the trees causing him to slow to little more than a walk. Dumaka broke through the trees and took in the situation without pause in his step. reaching his alpha, a strange lone female, and other members of his pack Dumaka had some understanding of the situation. The female, addressing the alpha of the IsraKaiya, had been hunting and her prey crossed the lines. He could understand the she wolf's dissatisfaction at having her prey stolen from her. What he didn't understand was why there was a pup. Likely the wrong place at the wrong time. Nevertheless the pup could present an opportunity. Dumaka didn't relish the possibility. Even more so as two younger wolves were guarding the little thing. Dumaka took a defensive stance behind Ralastor, nodding almost imperceptibly, "Alpha."

Ralastor sneered at the male wolf who appeared, the one he had to assume was alpha – the most dominant of the bunch so far, although the male half of the duo who’d first cornered his she-wolf seemed fairly aggressive – speaking down to him like a pup. It was not terribly difficult, unfortunately, to anger Ralastor. The hairs along his spine began to prickle in a telltale sign of agitation, but he fought to contain his rage. The arrival of his son cooled his temper slightly. Swift obedience had a determinedly placating effect on the ruthless alpha male. “Nox,” he purred, his confidence buoyed by his pack joining him, one by one. He allowed himself a quick glance at his son, and refused to be disappointed by how non-threatening the boy looked. He was here, and he had come swiftly, and that was a point in his favour. Not long afterwards, his other son settled at his other side. "Brutus," he acknowledged, feeling all the more confident. The smug expression back on his face, he turned his attention to the alpha male who had dismissed him.
“You may have the advantage of numbers, but I have the advantage of skill. Don’t test us,” he warned, a snarl touching his tone. This was ignoring the fact that he had decided his “rescue” of the she-wolf was also a perfect opportunity to test them. He didn’t anticipate a big victory this day, but if he could get a good assessment of the mountain pack’s defensive capabilities, he could consider that a valuable prize. If nothing else, he hoped to put a little fear into them. Oh, how he would love to be feared – because if you were afraid of someone, that meant you respected them. At the very least, it meant you respected their ability to deal out pain – to wield power. Just the thought made Ralastor hold his head and tail even higher. Let these soft common wolves with no ambition see he had no fear of them. Let the she-wolf see, let his newest followers see, that he had no fear.
Far on the other side of the Warugaruga’s territory, Tasso paused in the mundane task of border duty and lifted her ears. That was her father’s voice – and it was a summoning call. She listened closely, becoming increasingly tense as she picked out tension and excitement in the howl. It sounded like a fight was imminent, and a big one if her father, so proud of his own abilities, felt the need to call for back-up. Abandoning her chore of circling the edges of her family’s lands, she set off directly for the place he had called from. Tasso mulled over what could be happening, picking up speed as she fretted that she would be the last of the siblings to arrive because of how far away she’d been when Ralastor gave the call. It wouldn’t do to be last, to reaffirm her weaknesses in his mind. She would show him this time that she was a valuable member of the pack. She had to.

Lorrison scrabbled indignantly at the way he was being treated, his look one of dignified displeasure. Why, he was practically an adult now, but here everyone was, treating him as if he were still a pup. He wasn't that much younger than Eve or Altair, or even Wall-e, but he was still commanded to go back. He could fight his battles, he thought. He could help.
When he felt Altair grab at the scruff of his neck again, he prepared to bolt, but the sight of his approaching mother stilled him long enough for him to be carried a short distance. Her appearance, along with the alphas and the enemy pack's members, made him realize that, perhaps, this situation was much more grave than he had realized. Casting another look around as he was set down, he tried to put on a brave, bold face, but followed Altair and Eve meekly enough when they went to the fringes of the forest, with no word of complaint.
Arcadius reached his alpha shortly after the howl, but although he stayed within range, close enough to come at a moment's call should it be required, he did not step up beside Ralastor. Instead, he strayed back, hidden within the foliage, eying the scene with an inquisitive and wary air. An untrustworthy ear was tilted towards the wounded female, for although Ralastor seemed to consider her on their side, she was never a wolf he himself had met, and he knew alphas were not immune to mistakes. Simply because Ralastor appeared to support her didn't mean he had to do the same.
His attention soon drifted to the opponent pack, who appeared to have most of their fighting force already present. (He could spot a few young wolves, as well, and he wondered if this pack was so pitiful it needed a pawful of barely-grown pups to aid them in battle.) It was no surprise to him; he knew his alpha was interested in both testing and challenging the neighboring packs, and even the packs beyond them. His ambition was high, perhaps even wishful thinking to some, but seeing the two packs here, with even more from Warugaruga approaching loyally at the alpha's call, he couldn't help but to truly believe in Ralastor's motivations.
Still, he didn't go to Ralastor as his sons had. Remaining unseen, he would have considered staying there had the situation looked largely unfavorable but, seeing as it was not, he instead retreated farther back and circled around the pack border, going away from them entirely, eager to see if he had been right, and most of the strong members of the pack had come, leaving the rest more vulnerable to his jaws...
Noëlle's fur ripped warily when she entered the scene, her tail raised in a challenge. Normally, IsraKaiya was more welcoming towards others, but the pack had been more guarded as of late with the recent explosion of pup-count. And, speaking of which: she shot a glare towards Lorrison when she saw him slink away, both relief and alarm filling her at the sight of him. She was glad he did not end up in the enemy's paws, but it worried her that he was here so close to them, especially because more of the stranger alpha's pack seemed to be coming the more time passed.
"Go," she said simply as she passed by, in a voice whose tone showed she did not want to hear an argument. They were so young, too young, for what she felt was about to come, and she placed herself behind her alphas and protectively in front of the adolescents and her pup. Her demeanor was less aggressive as she listened to the lone female's words thoughtfully, but she didn't lower her guard and her eyes constantly strayed to her alphas to see what their verdict would be.

IstasMasonDamonNenMien(Age wise, Istas is a fully grown gamma, I don't have that stage finished yet but she is just slightly by maybe a month or two older then Ralastor if you all remember pup rp. ;3 just for sense making reasons. If everyone needs help with some ages I have a basic idea going I'll be happy to pass around if you wish? <3) (And expect two more huge posts before I"m done...>.> and I STILL wont have all my wolves out here yet... -dies-)
Damon was growling at the howls he had heard, he and Mason were on a mock hunt to work on their skills with Istas as their elder. Luckily that meant they weren't to far out when unfamiliar howls sang across their territory. The young Alpha's son was bristling with rage at ? that howl yet the accompanying ones from Altair meant that everyone was being summoned. He was the first to reach the slowly growing wolf party shortly after his father made his appearance. From his view point he could see all of the other's of his pack hanging back to see what was transpiring, though the other pack who was intruding seemed to be very obviously trying to intimidate...
He snorted at that silly idea and lazily strode out of his hiding, leaving Mason and Istas watching him as he went to stand next to his father just as Noelle had entered the scene as well, his body lanker then a full adult but much larger then most thanks to the mountain blood in him, his movements were graceful like his mothers making him come off like an aristocrat. "Da... " "Oh Hello! Beautiful day isn't it?" he said with a flirt filled grin in Embers direction. His dad was playing the at-ease card but he could sense, being his son. the rage that was carefully being contained within. If these wolves wanted to fight... they would have a good one, and to think that over cocky alpha thought they weren't experienced did he think they just sat back and gnawed on bones all day? well... granted some did, but most of them practiced fighting or were constantly out hunting... but then, this alpha didn't need to know this. He stood ready just beside Noelle, and listened more then watched as his Uncle and mother entered the scene.
KilRoy had been holding back, he watched Noelle go out, though like Eva he hung listened, and watched as more wolves came out to stand behind the whelp alpha. This seemed to be getting nastier and nastier by the second. With his ears back and a deep growl rumbling through his chest, he walked just a few steps behind Eva as she brought herself out of the brush, choosing to stand beside Noelle and Damon as she continued forward. He remained silent, his stance at the ready. He was as large as his brother, if not a bit fluffier and his brown eye's held a death sentence for any of this odd alpha's pack if they really wished to fight, being the oldest of this group and by far more experienced, he was sure to teach them all a few tricks by the end of this... He blinked when he realized that Damon was Actually standing with them, the boy was just old enough to be out, he rolled his eye's at the overconfidence but waited to see if his Brother or Sister-in-law would say anything, Truthfully the knew as well as them, that it would be pointless to ask the over arrogent young-wolf to stand by Altair and Eve, out of harms way.

Eva Was bristling, just flaming mad at this over confidant alphas presence. The second he spoke she stepped out, not giving her mate a chance to respond as she moved with elegant grace to stand beside him, white fur contrasting to his black. Fangs flashing as she spoke with a frighteningly calm voice. "I hope your joking... we don't just have numbers you whelp. And only a naive Young-Wolf would think to underestimate other packs, especially a much larger one..." She decided to speak to the whole of this trespassing pack after that. " Just because we choose to live life in peace does not mean we are slack in ability... you are barking up the wrong trees this day...-" Her gaze locked territorially onto Ralastors She and her mate where the dominant alphas in this territory and he best figure that one out. "- and I hate to give you such a horrid tail nipping infront of your pups So I suggest you show some respect to where you stand." Scent, blessed scent. Told you all you needed to know in a wolfs world, for Eva that meant knowing the connection between the young wolves that came to be beside and behind Ralastor and himself. The fact that they were just around if not a bit younger then her own son worried her, she didn't want to fight young-wolves... they still had much to learn in this life before a true fight should ever happen. Her tail high she listened as Wall-e spoke, her eye's remaining on Ralastor's to show dominance.
Wall-e was more interested in Ember's situation currently then he cared about hearing from Ralastor, if only just to irritate the younger male more, and chose to respond to her first. "Have you not learned of how My pack works from others? We don't usually mind sharing in hunts, or in helping Lones who need help in them... But that requires we know who you are, and you have asked... For my scouts to have found you, a not-pack, in our territory hunting... their instincts were justified. I would not deprive you of food and would be happy to offer you the same as I have offered all others who come to my territory if you will just stand down... Quinlan and Naima are doing their duity to protect our pack from others like this scum (Ralastor)" At this he finally gave the younger male a half glance, to make his point more clear before turning his gaze back to Ember's and continuing. "-And the offchance of finding a dangerous Lone... I trust in your words that the deer you hunted was not in our territory to begin with. By following that injured deers scent even now, we could all have together hunted it if you had come to us instead of challenge my Scouts, which would have insured you food this night. Though It is still an option after we get these obviously territory confused wolves far away from mine." He shot his gaze in Quinlan's direction, not having missed the males aggression. He raised a wolfish brow, his eye's alone asking if Quinlan was going to challenge him in this or respect his rules. He hoped that, that aggression would be turned towards the real problem and not the lone female.
When Eva came to his side, answering Ralastor for him he gave her a slightly affectionate shoulder brush, feeling calmness claim him at her close presence where she belonged. The second she stopped speaking he picked up, not giving any others a chance. "Why must everything be violence with you whelp? Were very much aware of who you are... so you aren't as full of surprises as you think. If you wish to challenge us then it is as it shall be and as my mate put it... you will be embarrassed. I'd much rather this end where you walked away without a fight, but don't misread my words as cowardly, I'm more then ready and willing to put you in your place, I'd just rather let you keep your pride, along with your rag-tag pack."

Istas was growling as she came to the edge of the brush too late to keep Damon from waltzing out like he was royalty. Such a fool that one, She blinked her iceblue eyes curiously as she took in an old playmate Ralastor it seems had decide the dangerous rout afterall...she couldn't believe he was really dumb enough to challenge her family, her pack. With a sigh she puffed out her features and turned to address Mason. "Go stand by Altair and Eve... You three will cover our flanks. I'm sure Nen is in the brush with Saorise too, I doubt she'd just hide in the den with her pups when their lives are threatened..." She didn't wait for the younger male to agree, knowing that unlike Damon, Mason was actually a very sweet wolf, one who though dominant, knew how to listen.
With a confidant stride she flanked by Mason left the safety of the brush to stand beside her pack mates Quinlan and Naima Her gaze watching Ralastor with curiosity though she didn't bother speaking to him just yet as he traded insults with her Alphas. It was always a weird thing, seeing a wolf of her puphood, back when she was a wondering wolfs companion. He was different, though not at the same time. She, was not as large as any of the mountain wolf bloodlines, or and lithe as the ocean wolves, yet she was sturdy elegant and strong. Carrying herself with the same grace as her sergeant mother Eva did.
Mason wasn't sure what to do when Damon took off without so much as really observing the situation, but Istas interrupted his thoughts before that could bother him as she whispered what they were going to do. He wanted to go and stand beside her and the other dominant's but he knew that his position would be just as important, and taking note of Lorrison he realized it was even more necessary for him to be beside the other young-wolves.
His soft growl was unconscious as he strode behind Istas into the open, letting the other pack wolves see him with as much muster as he could while he strode confidently over by Altair and Eve hearing Noelles command to Lorrison he turned to the pup, his two toned eye's questioning if he wanted an escort while his true attention was on the action the rest of his pack was in. He worried over the pups and the den, not liking how close they were to the rock's that would easily lead to the ocean and waterfall. But his heart quieted as he remembered that a dominant, Half-pack and lots of Submissives were still there, along with his siblings who were all old enough to defend the rest.

Nox watched as the pther pack spoke and as his own pack replied and exchanged between them. He noted that Brutus arrived very shortly after him and his mind wandered to Tasso, feeling sorry for his sister, she always seemed to try and prove herself to Ralastor, who thought more of even himself because he was male, than the female. He didn't want to have expectations of him, he wanted a calm life where he'd never have to scent his own blood ever again but he knew that if it came to a fight, Ralastor himself would probably draw Nox's blood and bring out the wolf inside that Nox hated so much about himself.
He eyed the wolves that were nearer his age, his heart wanted to try and make friends but his training and his head told him that he'd better stay put or he'd be in deep trouble with Ralastor, the Alpha wouldn't have any problem beating Nox to a pulp once they returned to their own territory. He lifted his head a little, his neck aching with the way he was holding it to try and be agressive. He breathed deeply and got more tense as the discussions became a little more heated. He was more and more confused as to why Ralastor had come to the defense of the she wolf but he knew better than to question, his thick fur hid a fair few scars.

Ember ignored the young wolf who spoke to her, not out of rudeness, but because she sensed that if she responded to him, it would only rile Ralastor up all the more. "I will not make excuses for myself or my behavior. I was on the hunt, about to take down a much needed doe, and your wolves challenged my right to be there even as they startled my prey away." There was not a hint of submission from her, nor should there be. He was not her alpha, and Ember was no submissive. She was a proud female whose own independence and self possession had not allowed her to take up a lesser role in an already existing pack. She had earned what she had through dent of hard work and determination. All of that would not be thrown away over a dispute, even one in which she herself was at great risk.
No, she would not throw it all away. "I know nothing of your pack, nor your pack's ways. Nor did your wolves choose to enlighten me. Instead, they strove to drive me away from what was rightfully mine. Perhaps it was their duty as you say, but whether this ends in a fight, in battle, will be determined by how you respond now. You know this." She would not back down. It was up to them to provide some alternative means of ending this, if they could. "I did not come to you because I did not know that I could. Nor would it have been wise for me to interrupt my hunt by doing so."
Nor would she have come to him, a submissive wolf in need of succor. No. Ember could take care of herself, provided that such as they did not interfere. She might have joined a hunt as an equal, but nothing less. Nothing less. "If you choose to join me in this hunt, know that I expect that the deer will be mine, as she was mine to begin with." Her deer, her terms. If she showed even the faintest sign of weakness, she would lose face in the eyes of all who had come to her defense, and that was something that she simply refused to do. There was no point in addressing his words regarding Ralastor. That was a separate matter, and one that she could not resolve. She doubted that the young alpha would be inclined to back down now, especially given the way this older one spoke to him.
Not that she could fault him. An alpha should not be submissive, even to another alpha. To do so was to show that he found the Warugaruga superior to his own wolves, and Ralastor to him. This wolf would not do that, just as Ember would not treat with him as anything but an equal. ... Not a superior, for Ember did not have any interest in taking on an entire pack by herself, nor instigating a fight before necessity dictated that a fight must be fought. If it came down to it, she was prepared to defend herself, and prepared to show these wolves that she was no weak, underfed lone. Still, this was her dispute, and she would settle it if the opportunity presented itself. The alternative was considerably less attractive than the notion of being able to eat this night.

Kumonryu was quick to join the ranks of his pack members that where joined at Ralastor's side. staying silent as he listened to the back and forth, it was clear things where heating up and a fight could break out at any moment. all tensed up and ready to snap into action, he kept looking from Ralastor to the unknown pack as he waited for Ralastor to give them any kind of command.

Damon gave a pout, like a spoiled prince as he turned playful falsely hurt eye's back to Ember. "You wound me beautiful one..." His tail had a pup's wag as he raised it just lower then Roy and Noelles, showing just how bold he was, while also proving that he was just trying to strike the other alpha Ralastor's Ire. After all that wolf's scent was all over hers...
Wall-e Before responding to Ember turned to glare at his son. "Damon. Shut up, and go stand with Mason, Altair and Eve. Now." He didn't give his son an option to be prudent or onry with the way he spoke and his posture, chastized Damon quickly complied, though still keeping his eye's playfully on the Lone Huntress. That now dealt with, he turned his two toned gaze back to Ember letting out a huff, as if irritated by the situation, he flicked an ear like his entire pack wasn't slowly coming to the defensive against another intruding one. "By our laws, Any lone can seek rest or shelter if they need in our territory, I don't seek to claim you or any others as under mine authority. Were a peaceful pack who just enjoys what life has to offer us, like the great Ocean Sisters of our heritages... I have lones come from all over, some stay, some choose to whelp here for the safety of pack, and some just come as friends. All are treated the same with equal respect. So long as that respect is returned." He felt like he was reciting rules that should just be known in these areas, but then. Lones were travelers and this one he had surly never even scented before this day, so it made sense she would not know.
"That in mind, hunting on our territory is another matter. I'm not saying that, that deer was not your prey. I understand where you come from. What I'm asking is that you understand where we come from. Once you crossed territory lines you were risking this outcome. Normally it wouldn't be so serious, Normally..." He turned his gaze to Quinlan with a slight smile, to show that though he wasn't exactly pleased he understood. Then to Naima to show he approved of her methods with his eyes and a nod. "Things are handled more peacefully, though your a very defensive Lone, not that I blame you..." He gave her a small smirk, showing that he wasn't trying to dominate her, just protecting what was his.
" Most seem to respond differently when crossing another packs territory and facing that packs scouts. Our rules over our territory are usually very easy to deal with, We don't like hunting in our land for obvious reasons, especially so far in... not without us to make sure the hunt doesn't drive that wolf into a path with one of our pups or young ones. But be it the situation it is. I would allow you to finish what you started as we just completed a successful hunt not but this morning... if this situation doesn't resort in the fight it feels like its going to be, A few could hunt with you to take that prey down. Being in our territory you would be allowed your fill by my word, it is your catch afterall. We would just take some as well, a Cirka is huge, the fact you got one bleeding and running rather then charging you is respectable, I'd bet you were as dominant as some of my best wolves!" He didn't understand still as to why Quinlan seemed so overly aggressive, but there would be a time for that explanation later. His gaze flicked to Ralastor instantly his eyes went from being relaxed to being ready for the hunt, his prey this Young alpha's pack.
"There is also the matter of this trespassing pack, whom's Whelp Alpha though coming to your defense it seems, is also attempting to challenge us, and made a pack rallying cry. Regretfully now we have a less then desirable situation. My question is, what do you wish this outcome to be Huntress? Choices are made that cannot be taken back, but this situation is not entirely un-redeemable..." He spoke to Ember though his gaze was still on Ralastor with a predatory gleam, though he was ignoring the wolf otherwise. If this pup thought to endanger his pack, his family. Well, he'd be making a grave mistake. Wall-e was a layed back wolf by nature, but bringing his charges into harms way, would bring out the reason he was chosen as alpha. He was Alpha male of this territory, no one threatened his packs lives that would not face his fangs or his fury.
((So... fight wise, how do you all wish to go about this? Ryuu and I were thinking the Roll a random number method. like how I have moc Duels in my pack... its' the easiest and most random way to see who wins afterall, But there is also the classic way which requires alot more effort in not god-modding and someone to judge over the fights... O.o I'm down for ither or...))

Ralastor would not be ignored.
“No, see, you’re the one here that’s confused." he declared, cutting into the conversation. "Your pitiful excuse for pack members wrongfully threatened a lone wolf under Warugaruga protection,” the young, ambitious alpha asserted, cocking his head to the side, as if genuinely baffled by their inability to understand how simple the situation was. His body language betrayed the bloodlust below his charade; he shifted tensely, bared his teeth as punctuation, whipped his eyes around the collected wolves. “When I warned them off, they decided to go on the offensive. So I’ll tell you what I told them, and don’t expect me to repeat myself if your tiny brain can’t grasp it. You will back down, not us. You act like you’re so much better than us, but you’re not. You throw your weight around just to prove you’re the biggest guy around.” He glanced at the she-wolf, suspecting she would see through his words to his true motives. “I stepped in to protect someone. Someone with more dignity and hunting skill than you and all your crotchspawn put together. These are my demands: you screw off – all of you – like the meatless little jackrabbits you are, and we don’t start trouble. And the next time you kill a deer, it belongs to the one you stole it from.” And of course, his pack would take whatever the she-wolf couldn’t eat. As payment. Not that he really expected them to cave to his demands. It was a bold move to walk onto another wolf’s lands and order him off of them: but that was the point, really, to see what sort of foothold he could get on the territory, how much he could take from them before they bit back.
It seemed likely that this time, they would bite back. Regardless, Ralastor refused to lose his smug, arrogant posture or expression. They had numbers, sure – and numbers would probably run him and his fighters off. He wasn’t here to win the day, though. The real invasion would come later, when he had the numbers advantage. This was just to prove a point. If they insisted on battle, he would target one of their number, he decided, and cripple them. That accomplished, he would order the retreat – and then the IsraKaiya could not claim victory. Indeed, if they succeeded in a hit-and-run, claiming that had been their true intention, the cocky, self-important mountain pack would be able to admit nothing but defeat. And if they conceded to his terms, then they would also be admitting defeat. As long as nothing went dramatically long, he couldn’t lose.
It was a dangerous plan – one that risked the lives of his own small pack, and well as the possibility that the bigger pack would want revenge. Still, there was a side benefit that made it all worth it. Ralastor turned his eyes once again upon her – the she wolf. She would be an asset in many, many ways. A strong fighter, an intelligent fighter… a female fighter. Although he valued males more highly in terms of raw power, no pack could be without any females. Of course, there was his daughter (and damn her, where was she?) but he could hardly make a mate of his own descendant. If this meeting of the packs gave him her, he would consider it victory no matter what the conditions. His pack needed the numbers, and she could boost them in more ways than one.
Caught as he was in his momentary fantasies, when the young male on the opposing side starting talking flirtatiously to the object of his desire, something in him snapped. His head turned fully towards the offending youngster in one sharp motion. In some way, he already thought of the lone female as his – as much in terms of property as part of his history, as a ghost that only he could see. It was bizarre and upsetting enough to see her interacting with others, and outright infuriating to have to stand here and listen to a male speaking to her in such a way. A fresh snarl welled up inside of him and expressed itself loudly before he managed to get control of his anger again. Although he said nothing, his eyes locked on the boy. There was his target. That was who he would maim to teach his pontificating neighbours a little lesson about underestimating the Warugaruga.
((I vote we have two dice rolls per wolf, one for attacking and one for defending/evading. So if X attacks Y, Y rolls for just defense or two dice if they also want to counter-attack, and compare the first roll (the defensive roll) to the attacker's initial roll, and whoever got higher "won" - i.e. dodged / landed the hit. I'm not sure what method you use, Surf, but that's what I'm familiar with.))

Ember had made her demands. She had stated her terms. She flat out refused to share her hunt, when it came right down to it. "I have given you my word on this. I have told you what standing down would require, and you have chosen to disregard it. Know, alpha of the IsraKaiya, that what falls next is your doing." How condescending of him to state that she was as dominant as any of his best wolves, and yet expect that his word would determine what portion of her prey she would get. "You have stated that my ability to wound a Cirka is respectable, yet you have not given me the respect to recognize that it is mine, and have insisted that you are entitled to a portion of it, though your wolves have deprived me of it. I would have taken it down by myself, if they had not interfered. And it would have been my sole position. That you perceive yourself and your pack to be entitled to even a portion of what can be considered a stolen kill is lamentable, is unworthy. And for that, I hope you realize that whatever injuries are incurred here are your doing. I was willing to call off my protectors... but not only have you provoked them, you have also chosen to insult me by casting aside my terms."
If her terms could not be met, then Ember had no interest in putting a halt to things. "What is gained here through your actions? You would put your young at risk, your pack at risk, and to no purpose." She spoke coldly, any interest in playing the diplomatic game now completely forgotten. "Warugaruga will not fight as another pack might. You outnumber them, yes. But you are not as ruthless as they, and I think you will come to regret this day." Proudly, she readied herself for the inevitable clash. Her gaze remained on Wall-e, her tail high, her head high, her very posture declaring that she had no fear of this alpha, nor his pack. Large they might be, but they had not struggled. No, they did not know what it was to fight dirty. They did not know what they had brought on themselves.
The young wolf who persisted in provoking Ralastor in his ill thought flirtations would no doubt be the first to feel his wrath. Ember knew him well, though they had encountered one another but briefly, infrequently. It was said that one did not truly know another until they had fought with them, bled with them. That was how Ember knew Ralastor, and not because of some close companionship that would leave her scent all over him, and his scent on her. "I accept your offer, little wolf. Fight for me." No matter what the outcome, IsraKaiya had made themselves an enemy this day... an enemy that they might one day come to fear. Warugaruga had not yet come into the flower of its full potential, but that day would come. And Ember, at last, would be there when it happened, just as Ralastor desired.

Roy Had heard enough before the Whelp finished his first few sentences and stepped up snarling when Ralastor turned his gaze to Ember, ever the protective older brother. This ambitious wolf was reaching just a bit further then his claws could grasp. "You dare, come into our territory, and stomp your clumsy puppy paws like you own own it?" He snorted and shook his head, He had no where near the patience his brother had, not that he didn't feel the vibrations under his paws from his Sister-inlaw and Brother's matching snarls, though they both allowed him to speak. " You fool no one in your intentions but yourself and possibly a few of the morons who follow you. You want to know who the Spinless Jackrabbits Their you, and those who are to ignorant to see your weak pathetic mind. And You" He glared at the Lone Huntress " You crossed onto Our pack territory, As in, where We live, Claim, hunt, Mate, Own. Our land. And were offered the chance to still feast this night though you have insulted us. And say WE offend YOU? Are you insane? Do you know nothing of how a pack operates? Rhetorical question." He shook his head in disgust.
"Forget the peace offerings my Brother and our pack have made you, you ungrateful b***h. You should know your place in the food chain if you wish no kindness then you get none, as any other pack would treat a lone. Your deer I will personally hunt after this, take down, and devour, While you starve. We have much kindness, but deny that and you get nothing but what you seem to want so badly."
----wait for it---- ------------- Wall-e Snarled "You Are done here." Short sweet and he Jumped at Ralastor with no more hesitation. His body poised and muscles rippling, claws and fangs out. He had heard enough of this Whelps s**t. He was now pissed, and seeing the wolf's look at his son set his ire beyond helping. The bloodlust was what Ralastor wanted, and as Wall-es two tone gaze focused onto his prey, that was exactly what he was getting. They were a friendly, peaceful pack, but only a fool mistakes them for weak or defenseless.
------- Eva was more calm, believe it or not. When her mate lunged it was nothing more then expected, and she braced herself for the onslaught. Her ears back and teeth bared like the alpha she was. She watched Roy move but waited to see what the other wolves would try, Her mate would not be fighting alone. The slightest move from any of the offending pack would send her into motion, Her body language alone let the rest of IsraKaiya know that this was it. Be ready. While her eye's sought out whom would be her opponent, or if she'd be assisting her mate.
------- Damon Was shocked at what the little Vixen Ember was spewing, he had heard what his father offered, and her response... she must be crazed... with a roll of his ice blue eyes he spoke up just before Roy had launched at her. "No thanks Dove, I'm not interested in crazy bitches..." He knew he'd get a nose nipping for that choice of word later, but his father was on the offensive, and his mother was glazed over with the sense of fight. Come to think of it, he started to feel that way too, his body seemed to bunch it's muscles, his growls turned to snarls and his tail raised high. They had to defend their territory, this is just life. And they could not lose, the pups and their way of life depended on them. ----
---And here we go---
KilRoy Lunged for Ember Fangs and claws at the head, his intent not entirely clear to even him as he sought to teach her a lesson for taking on an entire pack, his families pack. Stupid foolish female, IsraKaiya was one of the most giving packs, but what she and that whelp just said would give them no more options. They now had to deal with a very pissed off pack. And he was using every ounce of his half Mountain wolf strength and size against her.
--------- Istas was growling deeply, the nerve that those two trespassers had. It was a gift to even eat on their territory during whelping season. To think that lone'd be so overly stupid to think she'd get the full deer? She watched with tense muscles as Roy and Wall-e acted like the brothers they were, launching the first attack. Better to be on the offensive then defensive Roy had always said. So she stood proud, growling low as she waited to see what the other wolves present would do, she would be more defensive however, determined to protect the younger ones.
--------------- Mason Wasn't sure how to react, his body instinctively was doing it for him as his growls rose to snarls and his tail went up. But his mind was worried, He'd never been in a life or death match before, sure he'd had dominance fights, and play fights, and had brought down big game in hunts. But this, this was fighting his own kind, and his eye's were full of remorse at the idea as he looked over at Ralastors nearest son where he stood. Then turned to look at the Intruding alpha and his own, as they began to fight. He had to defend the others, the pack, their lives... all depended on making sure this pack thought twice before coming on their land again. His determination slowly rose as he took a few steps forward, still behind Naima, Quinlan, and Istas but not by much, Damon came to stand beside him with a deep growl, for once in their lives. they'd fight together instead of against one another... how strange.
---------- NenMien Was still hidden in the brush, though his body was vibrating from his silent snarl. He'd have showed himself much earlier, but felt that someone needed the element of surprise, so he stayed where he was, Saorise beside him though she didn't seem to be as upset as he, more so disturbed, though he knew she would fight with them. She was half-pack, and her pups were denned here, she would not stand for others threatening her pups lives. He wondered where his mate Tristar was, though hoped she was with the pups still, perhaps protecting them with Seiko.
His gaze was distracted when Wall-e and Roy seemed to jump at the same time. This was it. Soon he'd be out there and in the Frey, and his entire body shook with the desire. Bloodlust was something he struggled with, though he'd never been a danger to his pack, those outside where another story.
-----------
Saorise was quiet, she was still debating on what to do even though she'd been standing there bristling with anger the entire time. Her pups were in the den, just barely opening their eyes now, and she would not allow them to be killed, not here. Not before their lives had even began. But still, she was only half-pack. fights were not something she had to participate in. Yet here she was, beside Nen, silent and watching as the other Lone (Ember) stood against her family friends. Acting like she wasn't on a packs territory.
Saorise was a lone wolf, she understood the struggles, understood what it meant to be a lone. No pack for safety, lucky for her she had IK to turn to for certain things, and her pups would be safe even after she left them. But even still, what this huntress spewed, it was nothing but an attempt to piss off Wall-e and Eva... and it worked.
She thought over why they wanted to fight the IK so badly, She'd heard of Ralastor, personally choose to avoid him when the whelp grew into the alpha he was. But she remembered him from when Istas used to meet other pups when they traveled together. She had been worried of what the younger Huntress had told her, and her worries had been founded not but a few years later... Perhaps this upstart was just trying to test out the waters against the nearest, biggest pack? see what they were capable of? this caused her to finally growl, what fool wished for nothing but blood lust... that would bring nothing but pain and death, life was so much more worth living if you ran with it rather then tried to destroy it... thanks to this ignorant wolf, she would have to make a stand, to protect her pups. She would fight.
((After this post. I guess everyone could Do what I just did, but Let Kin get back to me in that pm about how were going about the rolls before y'all go makin bunches of attack posts? pwease? so we can layout how this will play to be most fun? it will be out tomorrow! <3 sorry this took me so long Kin luff I had to figure out what I'd do exactly... once we start rolling dice I'll start posting separately for each wolf... Nox wasn't about to stand by and let Ralastor get attacked, and besides, if he didn't jump in and fight, he'd get worse from his father when they managed to get out of this. He snarled and jumped in front of Ralastor, hopefully forestalling the opposing Alpha's attack. "You dare to attack first?" he growled, moving to the side a little so that he wasn't blocking his father from anything. Here was what all that training as a pup had been for, he didn't like it and he was fairly clumsy at the moment. He knew that if the fighting didn't draw blood on Nox fast enough, Ralastor was ever ready with his own teeth to do it, to bring out the more serious side of Nox. That side wasn't shy of causing pain, that side was about as cold hearted as his Alpha himself. Nox shuddered and held himself defensively, waiting for the next move.
