Just work. Save some money, so that if it closes down... well looky there, a little bit of money for the moment until you find a different job.

I agree that collage would be a good idea

I know college isn't for everyone, but I'd suggest finding a suitable job and getting a degree of some sort. Usually jobs that require degrees are a lot more stable. The military is a good option, too, since it has a lot of benefits and satisfaction involved.

And it would help keep me in top physical condition.
That's actually an up, too. I think you have to be a certain weight to enlist in the army.. or possibly a certain BMI, though I'm pretty sure it's 180 lbs for women, and like 220 for men. But, if you're in that, it's easier, if you're not, it's something great to work to. c:

eek I need to be a certain weight?!
http://usmilitary.about.com/od/joiningthemilitary/a/enlweight.htm
It's amount of body fat, but since that takes a while to do they go via weight. :c

s**t, I thoguht it would be more. The minimum for my height is 120, and I weigh like 135-ish. eek

eek 135! That's A LOT! xp
Jk, no that's good... hell, I'm like 100 lbs above that... but it could be because I'm just a guy.
My boyfriend is 6'2"-6'3"(he cut a growth spurt again. ♥) and he's like 155-160. It sounds like a ton to me, but with guys.. they could be like 250 and be 6', and a girl would look a lot bigger than a guy at the same height/weight. So I'm guessing you're average. 230 isn't much, especially if you're tall. 3nodding

stare I won't lie this weight thing seems a tad rude to me. scream and 135 lbs is not bad at all! wink
Aww, I'm sorry it seems rude. I guess it's because of all of the physical labor they do during training. I won't lie.. a lot of over weight(hell, and younger skinny people) don't do much physical work, and training all day would be pretty hard on them. The same for someone who's underweight. I guess they're making 'average' the ability to keep up or something. What I found silly while founding that, is the 'don't ask, don't tell' about homosexuality. You apparently can't admit to being gay while enlisted in the Military. rolleyes

I, myself, can see why being gay is some sort of... well... problem... seeing as there's shower rooms, you share rooms, and all that... it'd be a bit awkward to know that the guy on the bottom bunk is openly gay. Sort of the same form of fear that'll be applied for the "don't drop the soap" in prison... afraid of unwanted sexual contact and such... though, the military gays most likely won't rape you or be able to or whatever. sweatdrop

Then save the little you can, apply for other jobs with a higher salary, and build a small savings account once you have a better job... never a bad thing to have a little money saved up... and if possible, try to get some college education... but leave the military as a last choice (that is unless you really want to)... you know there's going to be bad things ahead with the death of Osama... wouldn't be surprised if we're building to start another war.

Military seems to be my only option. I can't do college because, I don't have the money (yes I know loans and grants, I just don't like being given free money) and I don't think I would have the patients to keep up school and support myself. I would lose my mind

Well, trainning for the military takes a lotof time in itself... and I doubt it'd be a walk in the park... there are also chances that you may just end up... wewll, dead. So pretty much, your risking your life to survive if you're joining the military... not a decision to take lightly.

I'm pretty physically fit as far as passing an entrance test. From what I hear about the NAVY is that I may not have to see actual combat.

Yeah, that's because not a lot of people want to mess with a country that's known in history as one with the most powerful navy... but even that has some risks and downsides... like... hm... oh! You'll be on a ship for a long time, you're most likely going to be doing something to help keep the ship in operation (and such), there's really pirates out there, and our navy seals had just not too long ago killed Osama and the country's more than likely aren't going to be happy about the whole thing in general. (yes, I brought up the Osama death again sweatdrop ) ... and there may be some people trying to fish up Osama's body at sea out there anytime soon.

In case your wondering, I'm not likely to go to the military or any armed forces anytime soon. xp

Eh, wouldn't bother me too much. I would like to be on a ship, it doesn't bother me. Maintaining a ship would be pretty cool too since I enjoy knowing how stuff works and all that. I'm not worried about pirates either pirate

It's not like I'm against gays or anything, I just understand how it'd be very uncomrtable to be around one for a long time if you yourself are not gay and the same sex as the gay person is. sweatdrop
You know something that's ironic?... A lot of anti-gay people are really gay. I wouldn't say the majority or anything, but a solid percent. Sometimes it's from like... homosexural men/women that were raised that being gay was 'bad'... to people that literally have sex with other men/women and say their straight... and not like, a one time 'experiment' deal either. neutral
