Arcana watched as she went back to go gather more rocks and noted how well they could be used. Well she didn’t necessarily have to use them for her fortune telling. After all she had mentioned the energy properties and since she was in shaman training as well she could always use them for healing purposes. Wynter seemed to be finding quite a bit and made Arcana blush at the fact she had missed so many cool things. Then again the other vixen seemed to know way more about the area then she did. Arcana inspected all the stones and after figuring a way to use the crystal went about ways of cracking it.
“You are correct it shouldn’t be too big of a problem to open them.” Arcana pointed out. The tricky part was finding at what altitude to drop them from and from what angle some times when you dropped them they did nothing, then other times they broke into way too many pieces. She nodded when Wynter mentioned other areas. “The mountains might be a good place to look. I wouldn’t mind more company if you don’t mind coming along” she stated.
Arcana smiled glad some one was willing to help her. It might just be because the vixen wanted a way to pass the time but after getting so much bad hype about fortune telling it was rather refreshing to see some one try and have her gather materials. Crushing the urge to wag her tail a bit she quickly dropped the stones in her bag and turned back towards her mini guide.

Wynter's smiles tended to be small, serene things, more like a natural part of her than any expression. Now she flashed Arcana a real, wide smile. "I do not mind at all. If you are impatient to see the mountains, and strong enough, we could fly. The walk will take perhaps a day, but we might find more of use on the ground that could not be spotted from the air."
She watched as Arcana stowed away the materials they had collected, and found herself curious as to what exactly they would be used for. Wynter had heard of fortune-telling before, but if she had any kind of talent it would more likely be in the area of grounding. Maybe she'd get a chance to see Arcana work. For now she waited to see which option Arcana liked best.

Arcana made a pouty face. “I’m strong enough most definitely. All modiphims can carry a normal” she said with a still slightly pouty face. “However I am not among the few that can carry another Modiphim.” She knew of three who could do so however this was from grueling training and effort. Plus they where all male as a female she was lighter, weaker in terms of physical strength and did not wish to go through the hellish training. A part of her wondered why she had brought it up but none the less cleared the thought out of her head with a slight shake. “Perhaps we could mix in a bit of both?”
As a phim she definitely would prefer flying there after all she was made to spend a good portion of her life in the air but then there was the fear of missing an ingredient on the ground. Ugh the decisions weighed heavily on her. Flying vs finding something interesting, it was too bad she couldn’t carry Wynter at a low elevation. Perhaps they could fly up there and then walk on the way back.

Wynter had to fight back a laugh at seeing Arcana pout, lest the Phim think she was laughing at her. Really it was more that an adult, and a large one compared to her, was making such the expression that caused it to amuse her. She could also see the indecision in Arcana's eyes, even has she said they should try a bit of both.
"Perhaps we could go down this hill, and to the top of the next if you prefer a bit of altitude," she suggested. "It is not as large as this one, but it will provide a decent amount of clear space. We should also be able to make such a trip with plenty of daylight left to search the mountains, as it is still quite early in the day."
Which was true. The sky had only just finished shedding all it's pinks, lilacs, and grays for the bright blue that heralded daytime.

Arcana pouted more just knowing that Wynter was probably trying not to laugh at her. She was the more mature of her siblings having to grow up mentally before them. So now that she no longer needed to be the older sister she often slipped into more kid like ways every once in a while. After all everyone should get time to be a kit, she was just getting hers a bit later.
Arcana nodded a bit and thought about this. Well time of day didn’t really matter to her as she had excellent night vision and was big with wings and quick enough to take on predators by herself. Well short of a bear. Altitude did matter a bit because to pick Wynter up Arcana would need to be already in the air. She didn’t have the strength of a daeva to just lift off carrying a fox. However she was pretty sure that was an urban myth as well. Daeva’s where pretty heavy themselves. “Sure next hill over will work” Arcana nodded.

A smile tucked into the corner of her mouth and a twinkle in her eyes was all that indication that Wynter was still amused by Arcana's pouting. "Let us walk, then," she said, and started a slow, comfortable pace. The hill had plenty of flat top that they'd be walking level ground for a reasonable amount of time.
"If you see something that catches your eye, just stop and I shall as well," Wynter said, glancing up and to the side at Arcana. Funny. This felt a lot like one of those situations humans called "dates". Like she was taking the Phim out to look for pretty or interesting objects.

Arcana figured she should just stop while she was ahead and straighten up her pout. She shook her hair out of her face and gave a small glare to it. Her hair never liked staying off her face and was always falling in her vision turning the world a slight sheen of lavender fading to midnight purple. She let out a small nod before starting to walking behind Wynter.
She kept a look out for something interesting something that was out of the ordinary but at the moment there was nothing really interesting. Well expect for the vixen in front of her that seemed to be okay with fortune telling. “Alright I shall be sure to speak up” she replied and went back to looking not liking to stare.

Wynter cast a smile over her shoulder to show she'd heard Arcana, then went back to watching where she placed her paws.
The silence actually didn't bother her. Wynter was born alone, grew up alone, and even now she lived alone. She wasn't used to hearing others chatter, and so what might seem like silence to some was actually the rush of wind through grass, the swaying of trees below, the singing of birds and sound of animals beginning their day, and the muted padding of paws against stone.
The pair had actually gotten all the way across the flat part of the hill and were a quarter of the way through the descent when Wynter stopped to speak. "Would this be interesting to you," she asked, turning and carefully scooping a rock with her front paw into view.
It was almost a perfect cresent shape, and reminded Wynter of the moon. That was what had drew her eye in the first place. It was pale grey and riddled with spots of clear quartz that shimmered with a white light as the sun hit, and actually quite smooth to the touch.

Arcana walked behind Wynter keeping her own attention out for interesting things. She was okay with silence really but not really used to it. There were always three of them and Celestia and Magica where very giggly girls as should be expected. So after a few minutes she let a small little hum keep her company and to help her concentrate. It was a bit different from the song she was humming earlier in the day.
Suddenly Wynter stopped and seemed to have found something. As she put the rock into view Arcana carefully looked it over. Normally she was more inclined to go after … richer colors if one could say but her teacher always said you should look over items even if normally you wouldn’t consider them. The crescent shape interested her and she nibbled on her lip as she examined the stone. Normally no it didn’t work, or at least it wouldn’t all by its self but she had the perfect companion for the stone. She looked up and smiled while lightly nodding her head. “Yes it would” Arcana stated.

Wynter smiled again. "I'm glad. Am I getting better at finding things?"
The way Wynter looked up at Arcana was almost past adorable. She was too honest a vixen to take advantage of anyone in any way, but how her pink eyes got so round and sparkly with the mix of anxious eagerness without practice in deception was beyond conclusive answers.
((Yooooou! Your turn to change scenery or have Arcana find something of interent. Wynter's going in blind, still XD ))

(pffffft....)
“Yes I would definitely say you are getting better at find stuff” Arcana nodded answering her question. It was nice to see an honest face that just wanted to help. With a slight horror she recalled some of the looks on her customer’s faces. It was always greedy like they expected her fortunes to be able to solve all their problems, which wasn’t what fortune telling was about. “Oh that might be of some interes-” Arcana trailed off.
She had found to be what humans would call a dice, which where always fun to fortune tell with and this one was a nice purple and black, some of her favorite colors for obvious reasons but as she reached down to grab it a hiss caught her attention and she was quickly jumping back as a snake jumped out at her face.

Wynter jumped neatly back herself. The snake seemed to have no interest in going after the foxes. It just wanted them away, far away. Wynter shook her head. "Perhaps I should have warned you. As the day gets longer the sun-loving creatures like to bathe on the rocks. Normally they aren't out quite so early though, so we must have stumbled upon this creature's den." The poor thing. It was probably frightened.
Speaking of frightened... Wynter looked over at Arcana, to see how she had fared with the fright of her own.

Arcana dodged the snake pretty easily since it was a warning lunge anyways. However it did come close enough for her to see the snake was pretty much harmless. Even if it did bite it wasn’t poisonous in the least. She had been pretty startled but quickly recovered. It was something she had developed while raising her sisters. Since she was the oldest and they had no parents Arcana had taken to help raising Celestia and Magica. None the less when the retreated Arcana pulled out an artifact that she just thought was pretty from her findings the day before and lay it a little further from where the dice had been. “There a fair change” she stated just in case the dice had meant something to the snake. There where no more warning shots hopefully meaning the snake was okay with the situation.

Wynter looked at the die, her head tilted in puzzlement. "That does not look like something made by nature," she stated. She had lived out here for her entire adult life. Almost her entire life period, since the mini haven that she grew up in as a kit was on the fringe of her territory. She had never so much as glimpsed a human in these parts.
"Do you know what it is," Wynter asked, now looking up at Arcana with the same puzzled statement.

Arcana nodded and rolled the die around in her paw. “Yep I know what it is. It’s a device that humans use to um….” She trailed off and tilted her head to the side. What was the best way to describe a die? “Well it’s a device that helps you make decisions based on chance or something like that.” She finished feeling like she hadn’t made a good explanation at all. “One of the foxes in my tribe knew a whole lot of things about humans and told me about it or else I wouldn’t have known” Suddenly a rather strong wind caught Arcana’s wings and sent her pitching forward into a roll. The dice went flying out of her paw at the same time that she went tumbling down the rest of the hill. As she sprawled out on the bottom she looked up at sky and let out a small “owww.”
