"I think it's better to know and be able to do something about it, ya know Ashley? I mean...dragging people into the war really sucks, but if he -knows- about it he can do things to protect himself. And of course he'll have the family to back him! He's safer with us, at least that's how I see it."
Demy released her as she moved, letting her move away as she wished. It was hard resisting the urge to scratch at his dying hair...good god it itched! A drink should help distract him though.
"Pepsi please, if you've got one? Would be awesome!"

"Yeah... Yeah." Whatever stress she had seemed to have passed, now that she'd finally gotten her thoughts out of her head.
There was no going back now, but that was fine. Everything would work out.
A little rummaging produced a familiar-looking blue can. "Catch !" She mock-threw it, and then laughed, separating the few steps to simply hand the can over instead.

"EEP!" The boy jerked to catch the can, but simply blinked when he realized it hadn't -actually- been thrown. Oh...oops! He grinned nervously as she crossed the steps and handed over the can instead.
"Thanks Ashley! And...really, I promise, kay?" Man he didn't want her to worry! It'd be fine, he'd make sure of it.
For now he was going to enjoy this delicious Pepsi.
"So how long am I stuck with the amazing tinfoil head hrm?"

She laughed as he fell for it, visibly proud of herself, before she came back to sit behind him with her own can.
"Well..." She looked at the clock. "Since you have pretty pale hair, I think 20 minutes might do it ? I'll take a look then, and if that doesn't do it, 30 certainly will."
They had a lot of time to waste, apparently. "We could, hm... I think there's some board games still laying around..."

The boy burst into giggles, imagining little green men standing before their baffled queen. The look on her face alone would be priceless! Though he knew well that aliens didn't -really- look like that....still, it was pretty funny to think about!
"Board games huh? I'd be down for one of those!"

"ET phones home ?" She giggled at the mental image. Sure, they both knew what aliens really looked like... but it was fun to pretend otherwise.
Ashley knelt in front of a drawer and pulled it open. "Hmmm... You like Sorry ?"

Hey, it was a game that encourage you to whack the hell out of the other pieces. Or...well at least the commercial for it did! It appealed to Demy and his hyperactivity.
"If so, then yep! I love that game, not as good as Hungry Hungry Hippos, but still pretty fun!"

"Don't throw a piece through one of the walls and don't break anything, and i'lt be fine." Ashley didn't seem bothered - and once she pulled out the box and unfolded the board, well, it was easy to see why.
Someone had been enthusiastic long before Demy would get his go at it - if the notches on the board and one of the red pieces missing it's head was to be of any indication.
Or the taped together cards.
Yes, this one board game knew pain already.
"I call red !" Through she was quite certain that Dem would call blue - it was the principle of the thing.
