Too late indeed. Well.. Ammolite had just learned an important lesson, didn't she ? The most important was that she wasn't upset about it, at least. It was just soda. A good hand-wash and there would be no trace left. Even if it had gotten all over her fuku, it would have all been done once she powered down.
Fluorite just pouted. "I just heard about it." Who would do something so silly as drop an energy orb ?
...Yeah, she had.
Burns... ? Oh, the carbonation. "Good old caffeine, saved me from many braindead nights." She opened her own can and chugged it.

"....Your brain can go dead?" now THAT caused her to also blink childishly. brains could die?
"...The soda then saved you brain from dying?" Suddenly, she eyed the can and twisted it around looking at it. "Is it some sort of...healing drink or something?" That could explain the burn... she just remembered a old saying she heard somewhere, that all medicines burn...or taste bad.
This didnt taste bad though.
Taking the drink she took another swig, eyes still on the Lieutenant intently.

...And there we go again. Really, she needed to really think about what she was saying around Lyra ! Well, she figured brains could die... In a much more permanent fashion. "Ah, no, it's a figure of speech." Fluorite took another swig off her can. "Like, really it's more... Caffeine keeps you from falling asleep, right ? When you need to stay awake ? Does that make sense ? It's not medicine."
Baby steps. Hoooolllyyyy crap baby steps.

"Oooh so it is, in a way, still a energy potion?" She eyed the can once more. The sugar and caffeine would start to hit her later on.... for now she would be patient until it kicked it. Biding her time.
Still though she bounced around a little, twirling once. "Sometimes i feel like i know nothing. Well.. i kinda dont know anything but then i remember it when someone talks about it. Its weird. Its also strange knowing not a lot of us go through it." She remembered zink mentioning that. Plus she had not met another of her kind before, were they really that rare?
"So what were you up to tonight?"

"That... really must be weird." Fluorite nodded. And yet there was so little she could do to make things better for the other girl. She couldn't magically return what was lost.
The only thing she could do was try to teach her everything that she could.
"I was just patrolling." She shrugged. She could stand not to gather energy tonight. She'd just stay out longer tomorrow. Ammolite needed someone more than she needed her energy quota done, really. "Nothing too important ! Is there something you'd like to do ?"

"...Could you show me around town? I mean ive seen a lot of places myself but i dont know a lot of what is where. Like... where to buy books or where to buy medicine. Or places in general i should be on the look out for? It's all so difficult!" She sighed once.
"Im sorry for being a pain if i am, i just really do not know what i can do. "

"Ah, that's not a problem at all !" Fluorite said with a grin, carefully taking Ammolite's hand. "I'll show you all the best places, you'll see... Well, the useful ones, at least. To start with."
They could have more fun later - now, through, it was more important to get the girl situated.
