She could deal with heights, enclosed spaces, and all-encompassing darkness. She had dealt with the museum, the volcano, and the mine rationally and calmly. But of course Asch would have no witness to any of that. The first thing he would find of his partner was that she was prone to carsickness and disliked vehicles. She tensed slightly, this time out of a sense of mortification and a mounting desire to make the mission as huge a success as humanly possible.
"I can tolerate it either way," she assured. "Sorry if it's a bother." As much as she would have preferred to be seated on her Metagross, she at least wasn't about to jump out of the car or anything.

He knew there had to be some reason they were put together. Not only for this mission, but as partners. He didn't believe that Kunai would have randomly slapped them together, or put them together if she knew they wouldn't work well. That didn't make any sense, and she was smarter than that. He would just have to see how she performed during the mission.
"Its not a bother, unless it gets in the way," Asch clarified as he continued his focus on the road, going silent after that.

The remainder of the ride passed in silence, Aila keeping her focus in check with thoughts on the state of the outpost and the mission at hand. Though her personal training kept her skills sharp, it had been quite a while since she had last performed a stealth operation. She reviewed her mental map of the outpost as thoroughly as she could with only her memories, internally attempting to pinpoint the most likely places the police had placed their officers, as the forms of the city began rising around them.
"Do we know the exact radius they've locked down?" she asked, sparing a consideration for how far they should go before parking the vehicle. "We'll be pegged as suspicious characters if we proceed too far on foot, but if we come too close in a vehicle we'll risk inspection..."

By this time, the sun was out of sight and twilight settled upon the land of Kodo. They were soon driving through town, which looked to once be a good end of town, but now was considerably run down. Green eyes flitted about, keeping a watch for any signs of police, while also looking for a suitable place to park the vehicle.
"No, not even the media has released that," he'd been sure to check before they left. "A block or two away should be good enough, if we can find the right place." And as it got darker, it would be easier for them to get in and out with the least notice.
Eventually they came upon a grungy park. Its playground and trees being marked with graffiti and likely used as a place for... illegal deeds. There was an abandoned building next to the park as well, with a dirt drive separating the two. This is where Asch pulled the vehicle in, letting the trees and overgrowth help cover the automobile from view.

"That sounds most effective," she murmured with a nod, watching the scenery just as carefully as her partner. They pulled into park that could only be described as legitimately sketchy, and Asch concealed the vehicle in what might have once been a driveway, the large, scraggly bushes at its border both indicating the area's level of disrepair and providing cover. This complete, she pushed open the door quietly and removed herself from the seat, pulling a pokeball from the satchel bound at her hip. Before she released the occupant, though, a thought crossed her mind, and she turned to regard Asch. "If you have no objections, I'll send a Mismagius for some cursory recon, and we can plan our approach from the information she gathers." In situations where they weren't pressed by an immediate need for action, she decided, it would probably be best to ask the opinion of her partner rather than acting solely on what she felt best.

Aila wasn't the only one that would have to get use to working as a team. Asch had done several solo missions, and was rather use to it. Although his training had been with an instructor, that was different from working with a peer.
Getting out of the car, he turned his green gaze towards Aila as she suggested using her Mismagius to check things out. He nodded in agreement to this plan. "That's a good idea. Have her check the main entrance. Its likely guarded by police and we won't be able to use it, but it will be useful to know how tight the security is." It would be a good indictator to what they could expect on the inside.
Removing a folded up map from his small pack, Asch unfolded it and held it up for Aila to view if she wished. It was a schematic of the outpost and showed, in detail, the layout of the structure. "This is the subway entrance," he pointed toward a well marked position where the outpost connected with the subway. "There is an emergency entrance here that connects with the sewage system," and then he pointed to another marking at the other end. With any luck, the police hadn't discovered it yet.

She nodded and pressed the release on the pokeball, returning the stare of the Mismagius that appeared from the light. "Revenant, we're investigating the outpost. I'd like you to scout ahead and return with information on the security surrounding the area, especially near the main entrance." The ghost-type gave a light sigh before nodding in agreement and fading out of visibility. It was nice that her human was putting so much faith in her abilities recently, but she really rather hoped that she could get a break some time in the future...
As the Mismagius went to fulfill her task, Aila moved to view the unfolded schematic, nodding at mention of the emergency entrance. "That certainly sounds like our best bet... We'll see what Revenant has to say about security in both areas. It wouldn't surprise me if they have the full perimeter of the building under guard, but it's probably safe to say that their forces are concentrated near the main entrance." 'Safe to say' didn't necessarily mean 'safe to act,' though, and she awaited the ghost's return for a more definite call.

Folding up the schematic again and tucking it away back into his pouch, Asch looked up to see the Mismagius as it was released and then faded out to go about her way.
"Yeah, the facility is underground, so there isn't a perimeter to guard." Thus it was safe to assume that the guards were concentrated around the entrance, and maybe even the emergency entrance if it had been discovered. "But there may be some doing a patrol around the area." The Mismagius would likely be able to tell them the situation though, and they could act accordingly.
Taking one of his own pokeballs, Asch then triggered the release, and a tall Zoroark appeared next to him. "Saber can cover us and use his illusions to get past the guards."
