Ever flinched at the contact, wrapping arms tighter around his knee so that he wouldn't pull away, eyes pressed closed for a moment. He wanted to be absently teasing but -- well, yes, that did hurt, he hadn't entirely been lying coming around here. Chewing on the inside of his cheek, he waited until Zac's fingers lifted before he cleared his throat.
"...um. Yes. Not a bad night. And met up with one of Schee's people, I think..." He cracked his eyes to watch Zac, finally, for the response.

Eyebrows lifted in interest but his face went blank and business again... "Oh... who?" He said carefully. "That hurt too much?" He added relaxing his shoulders again with some effort.
He twisted slightly to inspect the leg and started applying cream there as well, some of it of course managed to get onto the pant leg but after a few tries of trying to avoid that he gave up and just concentrated on the careful application to the wound.
"Should take the edge off... a little anyhow."

Ever reached out to slide fingers through Zac's hair, chin still on his knee, watching his fingers instead of anything else. It was helpful, theoretically, lifting blue bang back out of his face. In reality, though, it was unnecessary, an obvious excuse to slide strands through his fingers.
"...um. Fluorite? You'd like her. She's short." It came with a smile, easy and crooked as he tugged his hand back to poke at the edges of his now-greasy bruise. Gross. He really didn't want to put his pant leg down around that, or shrug his shirt up around the mess on his shoulder, so he stayed exactly where he was.
"I have some energy, too. You know. Later." Whenever Zac wanted. He licked his lips.

"Oh yes..." He said sounding a touch brighter. "I've met her... smart..." He said pausing slightly at the fingers in his hair, a slight fumble before he continued. "Or am I to like her because she and I are nearly of a height?" He added and leaned carefully back.
He tilted his head slightly when Ever didn't move. "Want that 'horrid bath robe?' He said with no small amount of 'smirk'

That got a sound, a grin, and as if accepting the challenge, Ever shrugged the rest of the way out of his shirt, instead -- and tossed it rather solidly in Zac's direction, grey-green cloth sprawling out against him as Ever leaned back into his bed.
He was going to leave a greasy burn-cream spot behind, probably. At least it would be on Zac's blankets, instead of in his sheets...
"I think I can manage without..." He shifted, finally stretching his legs out, one pant still propped up awkwardly. "What did I interrupt?"

"My...BLANKETS... you.....GOD..." Zac sputtered affronted. "At least the robe is easier to WASH!" He said half strangled though the frustration of having a guest that shouldn't be there, and therefor couldn't be properly 'scolded'.
He caught the shirt in a tangle and tossed it vengefully to one side and scowled pointedly at the offending party.
"I should make you.." He started and then stopped himself. "... I'm not finishing that thought..." he said folding his arms defiant. "I'll take it you're feeling better..." and then glanced at the desk. "I was finishing a paper, schoolwork, It's due friday but I wanted to use the weekend for training, so I'm doing it now..."

Ever looked completely unapologetic, grinning at Zac with arms folded over skinny stomach and the necklace hanging crookedly off his neck onto the bed. He should have left, feeling better, didn't need anything more, but --
"So you have some time...?" But he was definitely not leaving, his eyes tracking Zac's movements, expression fading down to something a bit calmer. Less s**t-eating and more hopeful. He even moved over just a little so Zac could sit, if he wanted to sit.
"No rush or anything, I mean." He was weirdly awkward, smoothing hair out of his face.

"I... have a little..." He said carefully processing the question, followed by the pose... the lack of movement. His mouth formed a careful "Oh' Of realization.
"Ah...you... mean like...ah, company...time." He said carefully dodging any more 'hopeful' words. He glanced for a moment at the door, trepidation plain on his face. He was over thinking again, you could almost -see- the lines of thoughts as they darted behind his eyes...
But... hesitantly, he sat down. "Mmm...maybe." He said cautiously.

For a moment, Ever just watched him, looking strangely introspective himself: toying with his necklace, metal jangling around his wrist, the bruise still standing out darkly against bony calf. He shifted just a little on the bed to make more room, dragging a leg up and finally sprawling an arm out around Zac.
"Seriously, though, I want an impression of faces when you asked about bringing a girl in." He said it like he really was very serious, expression sober, only his eyes still amused.
"I heard the laughing from downstairs." And this, at least, was nice and slow, just an arm slung around Zac's waist.

"...Moments like this I remember why it's easiest to hate humanity as a whole." He said scowling but at least not as serious as he could have.
"...It would be hard to replicate it anyhow... because it at least STARTED as a stifled snicker...and then he started chuckling....and he ended up laughing so hard he had to sit down..."
Zac didn't look at -all- impressed that it was -that- funny that he might have been sneaking in a girl. "
He shifted, but didn't fight the arm around his waist. "I don't ping..." He added... which really wasn't any more convincing than dragging in a girl. "...Do I?" It's the bath robe isn't it... god..."

"I pretty much knew right away, so." Which could have been a yes, too, but it could also have been total bullshit. How could Zac prove otherwise? Although, if there were someone judged as 'expert' in the matter...he shifted a little bit to press his face in against Zac's spine, curling in a touch closer. Ever was trying to be good. Really, really trying.
"I think it's more all the finger shaking." He was muffled, now, relaxing a bit. The contact made Zac tense up and drove the tension out of him. Eventually, hopefully, he could even that out a bit. "And the 'ohhh, youuuuu', and the grumpy face...pretty gay."

"You did -not-" He countered with a scowl. "You didn't...not unless reading is gay! I didn't scowl at you till you were a -jerk- and started fighting with me...and you didn't even TRY and make a move till you were drunk"
He made a wordless sound, not quite placeable as anything particular. "And grumpy face is not gay! Everyone has a grumpy face! YOU have a grumpy face... My mother's grumpy face is permanently adhered to her head...well...mostly but she's also the most 'NOT' gay person ever! If I ping -anything- its antisocial!"
He squirmed slightly ... " Comfortable there mister "Doesn't Ping?"

"I think my sheer level of comfort is what marks me, here." Fingers curled absently against Zac's stomach as he tipped his head just a little bit to look up -- trying to decide in one glance if he was pushing his luck, if he was about to be left clutching at cold blankets instead. There was something dark in his eyes, probably similar to how Zac looked when he played chess...
"If someone walked through the door right now, they would definitely not get the wrong idea." Teasing and truthful at the same time. Ever was good at that. He shrugged, winced as it pulled at the bruise, and resettled.
"...though my biggest indicator at clubs and things might be when I look at girls and go 'sorry, I'm gay'..."

"Ah... so you don't Ping because you never give a chance to..." He said, but it was distracted. The -look-, the calculated look had captured his attention as surely as when Ever had clasped his wrist before. "...Not the wrong idea huh?" he said carefully... weighing the words.
He was fighting to keep from over thinking, the starts and stops almost marked by his thumb rubbing small circles against the edge of his index finger. "Should I be asking if you have honorable intentions? Or is that a mute Point?" There, just for a nervous moment the hint of a smile at the corner of his mouth...

Honorable? Zac worried, and Ever went baffled, mulling over what the hell that was supposed to mean. This wasn't high school first and true love, certainly -- at least on his end -- and Ever did a fairly good job of living without pretenses. So after a moment he grinned up at Zac again, shameless and fearless.
"...no, I really doubt that I have honorable intentions." And proud of it, in fact. He reached up to grab Zac's hand and stop the nervous fidgeting, shifted and got more burn cream across the blankets. If he pushed a little, though, Zac might be able to get Ever to clean them. "But I guess it depends on your definition?"
