"A friend is Sonja, and Aydan, and even Johnny, my mate, is my friend," she said brightly. "Someone you like to be with, who's nice to you, and care just as much about you as you do about them." She tilted her head inquisitively at the stallion, "You have friends, don't you?"

He thinks a minute. "Is a friend a two legger? Because I don't know anybody but her and now you." He looks at her shyly. "I was teased as a foal. So I took to wandering and staying away from others."

He looks down at the ground. "Cause I look odd. The ones I was around as a child were all browns and whites. And I am black with these bright markings on me! So I didn't quite fit in."

Looks back at the mare. "But I was the only one who looked like me. So guess it was alright for them to tease and make fun of me. I really don't think I was what they were." He tilts his head studying her. "You are differently marked too. So maybe I belong more with your kind."

Apple Blossom shook out her bright pink mane. "But I belong with all kinds," she said sweetly. "I don't pick and choose. I stand by my friends, not matter how they look or what they are."

He blinks at her. "You think I'm alright? That there is nothing wrong with me?" He lays his head on the ground watching the mare. "Then why did those others tease me so for well looking different?"

Looks up and gives Apple a smile. "Will you be my friend? I'll do my best to be a friend." He eyes the mare. "Maybe you can help me around here. You know learn things that I proble should have already known."

Apple Blossom beamed, "Of course I will! And what do you want to know? I don't know if I know that much...but if I don't Johnny might or Sonja, or if they don't I'm certain Aydan would. He has an answer for everything." She looked around as if someone might be watching, "Well almost everything, he still hasn't figured out how to keep Sonja out of trouble."

Yori smiles at Apple Blossom. "This makes me very happy. And well you know things about us. I don't know much about us. I've stayed away from our kind so long." He flicks back his ears thinking. "The two legger was nice to me. She is friend. She kept bringing me those orange roots every day. Until I followed her home!"
