Oh a meaty distraction! Tanaka's attention was thoroughly captivated, his nose twitching fervently as he sniffed at the bag of treats. Delicious meaty treats, oh he wanted them.

Sheridan raised a brow curiously, treats? Was the way to the fuzzy little monster's heart really so simple? He should have thought of that ages ago, who'd have know it could have been so e--then again maybe not!

HISS! Arrrggg, she was touching him, SHE WAS TOUCHING HIM! The hel-lion hissed, flailing in a fury of claws and sharp teeth, tail lashing furiously. Hissgrowlsnarl! The (fortunately) small lion (he was really no bigger than a lynx) was most certainly not happy, NOT HAPPY! Meaty treats or not, he was not to be hugged, he was a mean ferocious lion, not a cute kitty! RAWR!

It was an amusing sight, the lynx-sized cat caught in a 'death grip' (or you'd think he was from the way he was struggling), paws flailing helplessly, claws finding only air.

"Would you like some help?"

Sheridan was of course speaking to Lizzy. Amused as he was (hah, take that cat of evil!), he didn't want the cat to hurt her, not that said cat was having much success in that department.

If you say so...

The look Sheridan gave her was skeptical at best. Feisty, that was rather an understatement, he would have just called the fuzzball evil. He wasn't quite sure what to make of Lizzy, was she brave, crazy, or just totally clueless. Either way, he sure as hell would not have hugged that cat.

"Did he bite tails too?"

Another one of Tanaka's favorite games, hiding under or behind something, and then sneak attacking any tail that dared come near.

HISS! LET GO LET GO LET GO! AH! At last freedom! Another hiss, Tanaka had leapt a pace away from Lizzy, fur looking extremely (and adorably) ruffled. Try that again and someone is getting bitten! Oh, is that a treat?

The cat's nose twitched, a cautious step toward the treat. Kitty can has yummy delicious meaty snack? A growl, he wasn't so easily bribed to drop his prize, tugging back on pendant. Well okay, maybe he could be bribed, maybe just the once. Tanaka's gaze shifted between Sheridan, Lizzy, and the treat as the debate over pendant or treat went on in his head. Okay fine, he'd take the treat, but just this once!

Tanaka's tail twitches, shifting on his paws as if he were still debating a 'I EAT UR FACE' moment. She had touched him and taken his prize, was he really going to forgive that? Apparently so. For this time at least, the hel-lion was content to take the bribe, stuffing his face in the back to devour every last morsel.

Sheridan was slightly impressed, that reaction having been completely unexpected. Maybe he should invest in some form of bribery himself.

"Thank you. I'm impressed, I didn't think that would work."

He had taken the pendant, quickly returning it to its proper place around his neck. It seemed a simple charm, a crystal orb suspended from a silver chain. A second look might have revealed something more mysterious however, the mist within the orb changing color under the dragon's touch.

"Normally I wouldn't take it off, he must have been laying in wait "

Wait, was that a smirk on the cat's face? Tanaka had looked up, licking his lips as he looked up at Lizzy, perhaps hoping for more. Uh-oh, looks like Lizzy might have found a new friend...or at least a stalker.

Sheridan nodded, though if she had asked why it meant so much he may not have been able to answer. He wasn't entirely sure himself, was it sentimental, did it remind him or something, or did he simply feel naked without out? Did he really cling to something so intangible?

"I don't remember ever being without it. It's supposed to reflect the colors of the universe, if you believe such things."

Colors of the universe? He doubted, more likely it was captured plasma, shifting colors as it changed forms. And yet there were stranger things in heaven and earth...

"Frighteningly so, I'm sure there's some plot going on in his head right now."

Tanaka gave Lizzy an indignant look, a paw raised to swat away the hand that had dared to pet him. Hmph! No treats, no petting, so there! Awww, how adorably sulky.

"Perhaps some parts of it do, anything in possible."

He didn't expound on the idea any further, giving her a soft smile instead, the hand that had held the pendant falling to his side.

"Yes, I'm come to realize that. Though I'm not sure this one would be any less dangerous either way."

Clever or otherwise, those teeth were still very sharp! And Sheridan was quiet certain that even if he were not a cunning little monster, Tanaka would still be just as grumpy and inclined to chomp on his tail, shred books, and steal various trinkets.

Hmm? Oh, yes. It had taken him a moment to realize what she was asking, and another to produce his own phone. It might have been a relief to Lizzy that as a creature of math and science, it had never crossed his mind to take the exchange of numbers as anything but what it was. In that sense at least, the dragon retained his innocence.

"Likewise."

The hel-lion gave a huff, sticking out his tongue at Lizzy before he turned around and promptly ignored her. Hmph, how dare she not rush off and get him more treats, I AM CAT SERVE ME!

"I'll keep that in mind."

Easier said than done, that was rather an understatement. Something told him Tanaka was far too smart (and proud) to fall for simple bribery more than once. Knowing the hel-lion, he would see it the other way, he was the one doing the bribing, offering the lack of tail biting in exchange for delicious treats. Sheridan was sure he could already see the gears turning in that evil head.

"Thank you."

Sheridan looked at his phone for a moment, reading the number silently before returning it to his pocket.

Tail in the air, Tanaka had begun to walk off. Hmph! Fine then, he was leaving! Oh but you better watch it Lizzy, HE'LL BE WATCHING YOU!

"Maybe I should go after him..."

Sheridan warily watched the cat, he wasn't sure he wanted to know what mischief he had planned, or who's face he intended to eat.

Sheridan nodded.

"Next time I'll make sure to pay more attention to wear I'm going."

Lest he trip and crash into her again, that had been rather awkward. And maybe next time there wouldn't be a cat of evil trying to claw her or plotting to eat her face off. Though he had to admit, a meeting without the fog and death bit was certainly a step in the right direction.

There was a slight change in his expression, a definite flick of his tail, as if his mind balked at the idea of returning to classes. He had almost forgotten classes were starting again and he wasn't entirely sure he was ready for that. After events on the island he had begun to grow suspicious, unwilling to trust the staff again, he still wasn't convinced it wasn't them who had been behind the whole thing from the start.
