The stallion was defensive about the fact that he still lived with his parents. Surely that wasn't the norm.
He aggressively asked her back if she had a family. His shot hit her deeply. She was stunned at his seemingly callous question and her eyes briefly took on a pained expression. But for only a moment, so quickly did they flash to anger that if you had blinked you would have missed it. She glowered at him, maintaining an unabashed look. "No, in fact I don't," she hissed, mixed with the undertone of a growl.

Pachelbel winced at her tone. "S...sorry..." he muttered embarrassed. "I didn't mean anything by it..." he trailed off and flicked his tail causing the bells there to chime softly.
"Can...can I have my bag back?" he asked softly.

He apologized but Amethyst had worked up a bunch of energy that needed to be released. She stomped in a circle around the bag, huffing about and her braided mane shaking around. She clenched her jaw shut, grinding her teeth together. She breathed out and a small amount of tension was released. She narrawed her eyes, should she return the bag? She wasn't really interested in it but...
He didn't really seem the confidence to ask for the bag back with force so she decided to pretend not to hear him. She calmed down slightly and faced him. "What's your name? I'm Amethyst."

"Pach--Pachelbel." he stuttered answering out of reflex. He didn't know what that had to do with the bag. Was he that easy to ignore? He sighed inwardly. He was already terrible at interacting with others and this was in no way helping him.
He scuffed a hoof and wondered what to do now. All he really wanted was to go home...but not without that bag!

"Nice to meet you Pachelbel. Are you going home to your family?" she asked "oh and where did'ya get these?" she asked nudging the bag.
He seemed to really want the bag back. She wondered what was in it. Food? Brushes? Jewels? It could be anything really. Amethyst really wanted to know but she resisted the urge to open the bag and settled on examining the stallion again. He wasn't bad on the eyes she noted.

Pach nodded slowly. "Yes. I was on my way home." he paused and wondered just how much he should tell this stranger, although it was pretty innocent. He flailed mentally for a moment and wondered if she thought he was some sort of thief. "I got them from the trade post." he answered quickly his nerves getting the best of him. "I--I dance for trade goods. Most of my family does." he finally gasped out.

The poor stallion seemed to have to work very hard in order to wheeze out what he had been trying to say. Oh the trading post, she had never been there before and her curiousity was peaked that is until he mentioned dancing. "Ooo dancing?" her eyebrows raised. Another thing she had never seen, a dancing stallion, how odd. Her curiosity likely showed on her face and it likely covered of her skeptisism and a bit of humor from hearing of his dance career. "Thats cool, do you think you could show me a few steps?" he may have still been wary of her but she had completely moved on from her earlier episode and smiled demurely. "It'll be fun."

"I...I...maybe." he stammered. "I...don't generally dance, except for practice with my family and for trade..." he stamped a hoof and flicked his tail.
He watched her expression and was caught a little off guard by her smile. He wanted to leave, go home and forget about all this, but it seemed luck was just not on his side today.

"Pleeeeease" she grinned. She was contemplating trading his bag back to him, but she wasn't sure if she wanted to give it back quite yet. For all she knew it was more important than she knew and she wasn't one to be played. She was still wary of him despite her odd moodswings today. She nudged his cheek gently with hers and looked at him with soft pleading eyes.

The instant she touched him, Pach pranced back several steps, his bells jingling crazily. His eyes were wide and he took several deep breaths to get himself back under control. Was this mare crazy? It certainly seemed like it. He didn't know what had made her do that. His dancing certainly could not be that enticing. Had he given her some sort of signal he was flirting with her? He didn't think so.
"If...If..you give me back the bag," he finally said slowly. "I'll dance for you."

He jerked away at her touch causing her to jump back in surpise. She was just trying to calm him down, geez what was up with him? He looked that he was going to have a panic attack. She eyed him suspiciously, he was kind of weirding her out. It seemed to her that he had aphenphosmphobia. Strange. Did he never recieve affection from his family when he was younger? She thought the touch would be comforting . . . As she pondered the possibilities she was surprised to hear him speak again. Stunned that after his strange episode of sorts he decided that he would dance, she took a moment to respond. "Really? Oh goody!" She backed up to give him what she thought was enough space and situated herself so that she could watch comfortably.

Pachelbel took several deep breaths calming himself down and finding his center and doing his best to block out the presence of the mare. Strangers really tweaked him out and he wasn't comfortable with anyone he didn't know well touching him. He supposed it was due to the fact his parents were rather isolated from the rest of their families, and in fact anyone so exposure to strangers was limited, but there was time to think about that later.
He finally exhaled slowly, and stamped one of his hooves giving him his starting beat. Once that chime sounded, he lost himself in the music that flowed through him, and began to turn his body in patterns that kept the beat going with his bells.

Pachelbel took a moment to focus himself and started to dance. The rhythm was enchanting and was added to only by the tinkling bells that hung on him and incricate movements he performed. Amethyst watched closely, how lovely she thought pleasantly. His movements were hypnotizing and she was captivated. "Charming," she murmered peacefully.

Pachelbel finally finished the dance and came to a stand still, there wasn't even a faint chime to disrupt the silence that followed the conclusion of the dance.
He waited a few moments then, broke the silence. "Can I have my bag back now?" he asked quietly.

A silver tear slid slowly down Amethyst's cheek. The dance was beautiful and she was sad to see it end. The stallion was the first to speak, but what she heard didn't please her. Bound to her promise Amethyst reluctantly nudged the sack towards Pachelbel. The mare smile sheepishly at him, "That was lovely." A light breeze whistled through her mane and a smile tugged at the end of her lips. She would wait to see how he responds.
