After watching the orange vixen eat a berry Itov took the ones she offered with a smile. “Thank you my dear.” Itov ate one and his eyes widened as the sweet tangy juice filled his mouth. “wow these are tasty.” Putting the rest of the extra berries in the fur of his tail for later Itov smiled as he saw Samhain toss a rock at some spiders. Mmmm.. I’m glad that I’m not a spider or else I’d be on the receiving end of Samhain’s vendetta of hatred and disgust. Not a good place to be it would seem. If we ever have kits I’ll have to make sure one of them doesn’t bring home a spider to show her… after all it wouldn’t do to have her scream and sputter in front of a kit. Itov blinked when Samhain smiled at him. It was as though the entire universe stopped and marveled at her beauty with him.
The explanation about why the spirits might demand or expect an offering was fascinating. Itov had never heard the voice of either a modeity or a ghost so he didn’t really know how such things worked. His father’s had been part of a small would be group that disbanded, however to Itov’s knowledge neither of them had done anything with the modeity of the land. Well if I was a spirit of any kind I guess I’d be pretty darn thrilled at the idea of someone giving a darn about me. I guess I’m lucky that Samhain is here to open my eyes to this part of the world that I knew nothing about. I wonder if we’ll actually be able to meet any spirit with this. Perhaps it only works for certain foxes.. if so wouldn’t me being around be a burden to this project and not a boon? I don’t want to be in Samhain’s way and end up being the cause of trouble on this excursion or the reason why a spirit can’t get the offering like it should. “Is my coming along with you one this little trip ok? Don't only shamans or elders handle this kind of thing?”

Samhain blushed a bit at the dear part. She didn’t think of her self as a dear and the whole thing made her think of an old grandmother but Itov seemed to like the word so she just chuckled at him when it came to being called such. Suddenly faster than she though possible she lashed out and swatted the large hairy spider from off Itov’s first leg before backing up several fight and hissing at the evil thing. “There… was a spider” she stated fur still standing up on end. It was crawling on him and it could have bit him. “Ah yes they are. I thought you might like them” Okay to the graveyard it was. She hated spiders… but she could be calm and walk away as fast as possible.
Samhain laughed out loud this time at Itov and shook her head. “Its perfectly fine for you to come along. Where we are going all the fox spirits will actually find it rather funny you can’t sense them or see them at all. Well you might feel them tugging on your hair or a shot of cold when they touch you but unless you get a lonely lone spirit who has been ignored for a while you have nothing to worry about not seeing them. “I suppose it could be an elder thing or a shaman thing but they wouldn’t have the ability to talk to the dead. Only a few foxes out there have some sort of ability. Either they’ll see them and can’t hear them or they will hear them but can’t see them. It’s pretty rare for any one to have the ability to see both.” She stated.
Looking up she walked into the human and fox graveyard. Large stones marked the human graves where as a small mound of rubble marked the foxes. She carefully maneuvered through the graveyard waving or saying hi and stuff before getting to her destination. “Okay here is the grave we want.” She stated. She knew it was because after all the flowers she had planted as a kit where still flourishing like mad.

Samhain’s chuckling over his choice of pet name for her made Itov smile. She is so very cute. I.. what the! Forgetting the rest of his thought Itov froze in shock at the orange vixen’s movement. The strike itself was a blurred motion that surprised him, but the hasty retreat worried him more. He must have been looking at Samhain in astonishment because she explained the reaction had been caused because of a spider. Taking a deep breath Itov nodded and forced his muscles to unclench. He hadn’t even felt the eight legged ninja crawling on him. At least he hadn’t gotten bitten. He wasn’t sure how poisonous that breed of spider might be and wasn’t to eager to find out. Looking up after making sure there were no more spiders on him, Itov was amused to see Samhain walking calming away like she hadn’t just been moving as fast as a rabbit with its tail on fire a moment before.“Thank you Samhain.” She might not need it, but it does have to be said.
So it my presence won’t be a deterrent. That’s good to know. Still it seems like dealing with spiritual matters are the domain of shamans and elders. Still I suppose everyday ghosts might not be their concern. I’m surprised it’s a rare ability. I guess it’s understandable since those that can hear or see spirits would be singled out and discriminated against so the chances of them finding a mate and passing ability along would be less, but to have it so only a few foxes have the ability.. it’s sad. I would think that there should be one or two around every major tribe area since it would be beneficial to have someone around who can ask the spirits of the deceased for advice in tough times. “Well at least you have it and had someone around who could help you understand your gift. That’s a good thing.”
Itov felt so tempted to nuzzle Samhain right then. Sadly the graveyard was before them and Samhain charged right in waving and saying hello to beings that Itov could neither see nor hear. His mate was smiling ahead of him like she was in a room full of friends and Itov felt very left out. Still he nodded respectfully in the directions that Samhain said hello to. Twice he felt cold shivers as he walked by the graves. Wincing each time he hoped he was only imagining it and not having been rude enough to step though some poor ghost. Coming up beside Samhain he saw a small mound that had thriving blossoms over it. Both white and colorful petals danced in a nonexistent breeze. Looking at Samhain question he wondered what to do next. “Who is buried here?”
(wow I actually have to sit and think about what to say for these posts.. I love it! *huggles Nasai*)

She truly felt bad, she hadn’t meant to shock Itov that bad but it was just the evil spider. She had reacted with out thinking and massively panicked. She just knew she had to get it off of him and maybe because of how close he had been to her. She hadn’t really hit him that bad but she knew she had in fact connected even briefly with his shoulder. Of course now it was over and they where walking away with their prize and spider free. “You’re welcome. Evil spawns of the underworld aren’t allowed to crawl over my foxes” She smiled sweetly. Ugh she should go and stomp the spider but then that would involve going back into that evil den and she may not escape so readily again. She needed to find a new berry bush and one that wasn’t right by the river. Perhaps she could grow her own berries or see if that nice girl would grow them for her.
She hoped her children didn’t get her ability. It would be hard and Itov would be left even more out of the loop. When she realized that he was feeling a bit left out she slowed down in her greets of the ghosts. They all smiled knowingly before drifting back into their resting place. “Yeah I had my grandmother to help me out but my parents didn’t have the ability and thought I was rather strange.” She sighed and shook her head. There was no use dwelling on what made her different from all the other kits out there. She had been lucky to have an understanding grandmother and later on had gotten a chance to meet Itov. She shook her head when he walked through a couple of them, not on purpose the spirts where just bored and playing with him. Well there was a reason this was her favorite graveyard.
“This is Sor. He doesn’t really talk but he’s been my good friend ever since I figured out I had gotten my grandmothers special abilities.” Samhain pointed out. “He was a good friend of mine when I was growing up and was okay with my abilities actually encouraged me not to be afraid of them. However he was born really really sick and one day he got hurt and passed away.” She pointed out looking at the grave. “Yet he was really worried about me so he checks up from time to time” she answered. She was about to say he wasn’t into day when the little see through ghost stood up and waved. “ah Sor says he wouldn’t mind coming with us to meet your family. So I guess we’re ready to go?”

Evil spawns of the underworld? I don’t think she realizes that she’s saying this to a fox that actually used to be mistaken for a demon. “Your foxes? ” Itov grinned as he said this. Perhaps Samhain hadn’t even realized she had said it. He felt wonderful knowing he was so important to Samhain, still he would definitely tease her about this. “As far as I knew I was the only one. Don’t tell me you have been keeping foxes in your basement and not telling me.” Itov feigned mock horror and then rolled his eyes to show he was only jesting. The idea of Samhain keeping some random foxes locked up was defiantly a laughable at best. Still sitting there Itov shivered again. He looked about and then to Samhain confused. She was just shaking her head. He was a bit confused.
Sor. Well at least he was around for Samhain when she was young and vulnerable. I wonder if he had a chance to grow up perhaps he might have ended up as Samhain’s mate. The thought gave Itov a small pang of jealously. Still he felt bad about the kit dying young. Life was just not fair like that sometimes. He nodded to his mate and smiled at where she was looking. “Sorry I can’t see or hear you Sor but I’m glad you can come with me to meet my family. My sister is umm.. a bit hyper though, just fair warning.” Itov winked and turned to lead the way to where he had asked his sister to wait. He wasn’t sure if his father Ixen had come along or not so he was a bit nervous. What would his family think of Samhain.. more importantly what would she think of them?
(Is this a more bearable length to use? I don’t want to kill you with RP Nasai *regardless of how entertaining the notion may be.* I need you for other RP endeavors to get more cute kits <3 *is not mentioning more pretty art that needs to be bought latter too.* Also did you want Ixen and Yavie or just Yavie?)

(ixen can come too, he needs family love ^.^) “Yep my foxes” Samhain stressed sticking her tongue out. Pfft he would just have to make fun of her word usage didn’t he? “I don’t have many of them but they’re mine and you mess with them well…” Samhain trailed off with a weird look. “And I keep them all in the attic silly, not the basement. This is because when invaders come into the house they’ll spot them and hop onto the roof and shimmy down a tree to safety and the invaders will be none the wiser” She teased right back. “You’re special though and I occasionally take you out to air” she nodded seriously. “Nope I only really have three people that count as mine so no worries there” ‘Those three be Itov, Aisling and who ever aisling decides to mate’ samhain thought to her self.
Samhain watched as Sor seemed okay with the whole thing and faded out from even her view. There was a light cold breeze next to her showing he was in fact coming with them. She relayed in the info to Itov before reaching down and taking a flower, it was easier when moving ghosts to have something from their resting place or of there’s when going off. She put the flower behind her ear before silently following Itov. She wondered back to her earlier thoughts. She hoped everything would be okay. She could charm away any problems hopefully. She knew there would be no problems on her end. They had either been raised around Itov and where family or had done the raising either way they had helped shape her mate into what he was so they should be okay? She took a deep breath and looked back at her flower. She had friends and special foxes so she should be just fine.

(Yay for family love!.. crap that means three foxes for me to get into the head of…. *does not think these things through*)
Resting quietly in the shade of an old tree Ixen Kaldra waited with his daughter Yavie for his son to show up. Honestly Ixen wasn’t really sure why he was here. Only that Itov had something big to say and Yavie wouldn’t let her Papa miss out on something so important. For a moment his red eyes disappeared as Ixen closed them to think. Yavie had been particularly bouncy and happy lately it was pretty clear to Ixen that Yavie had found a special friend and probably a mate. Still he couldn’t and wouldn’t say anything about it until she brought him home.. then Ixen would have to play the role of the protective father.. otherwise his mate Yuki might end up freaking out and that wouldn’t be fun for Ixen at all. Opening his eyes he watched his daughter wondering if she knew what was going on with Itov. He certainly didn’t.
Bouncing along Yavie was following a leaf that skittered across the dirt pulled along by the wind. With a twist and flourish the leaf somersaulted and landed on the grass next to the path. With the leaf no longer providing a valid sort of entertainment Yavie turned and trotted off the path and back to her Papa Ixen. He was watching her quietly. She smiled incredibly excited. Papa had no idea what kind of surprise Itov had in store but she knew! With her tail wagging behind her Yavie watched her papa close his eyes and rest his head on his paws. I wonder what Itov’s mate is like. He told me that he had one but he didn’t say much else. I told him I might be bringing one of our fathers with me to meet this girl. He seemed a bit worried so I was super sneaky and didn’t tell papa why I brought him along but once Itov shows up with a girl he’ll know. After all how could he not. Papa is smart like that. I think Papa Yuki would have done ok with meeting Itov’s mate but at the same time whenever one of us starts showing that we are adults and not kits he tends to start whimpering so maybe Papa Ixen was the best choice. OH! I wonder if Itov’s mate knows anything about pixies or faries. It would be so much fun to try and find a farie or a pixe with another girl. If we did catch one I’d ask if I could take it and show Yabetz.. He would be so impressed. Her chest puffing up proudly at the thought of bringing a pretty farie pixie to her mate Yavie glanced around and started to investigate the tree that Papa Ixen was lying under. The fact she had already done this seven times prior did not slow her down or make her lose any vigor in her investigation. She was far too energized to just sit and wait like Papa Ixen.
Itov kept mostly inside of his head on the trip to where he was to meet his sister. Samhain was fairly quite as well. A part of Itov wondered if Sor was speaking with her on the way. So he did his best not to interrupt if the ghost was speaking. His ruby eyes sought out the path he had first taken to find the haunted house Yavie was probably running around like a fool. He could only hope that she didn’t hurt herself. She seemed even more spacey nowadays than when she was a kit. Always asking about strange things he had no clue what they were whenever she saw him. Hopefully Samhain wouldn’t mind too much. Who knows maybe they two might get along. Itov hoped so. If one of his siblings was on his side when he spoke with his fathers’ about having a mate he would feel much, much better.

The walk was pretty quiet which was okay with Samhain she was busy thinking over things. She had to remember all her skills for dealing with parents. After all she hadn’t really talked to anyone other than Itov in a while. Polite was the first step, after all she wanted to make a good impression. Then she would have to work in some way to mention her gift. It would be better to just get it out of the way instead of waiting and that way she couldn’t be called on holding something from them. It wasn’t as if anything would really change if they didn’t like her. She would still stay with Itov and fight to stay next to him but it would be better and make her feel better if they approved. Oh there was went thinking all these negative thoughts again. Sor just gave her a look and whacked her on the back of the head which was his way of saying that it was no use thinking depressing thoughts and what ever happened would happen. Yep that was her old child hood friend ever one to take the logical approach.
As they walked up to the meeting place Samhain noticed two red foxes. She could tell they where related from the similar coloring and she noticed some of the markings on the Male matched up with Itov. Taking a deep breath she looked over and smiled before looking back at the foxes.

Hearing the approach of more than one fox Ixen’s eyes opened up and he gazed out over a strange looking orange vixen coming up next to his son. Looking around Ixen spotted Yavie had stopped looking at the tree roots. She was staring at the vixen openmouthed. So this was the surprise that Itov mentioned to Yavie. Good for him. She looks like a sweet girl a bit shy, though I suppose I would be too if I were meeting my mate’s family for the first time. I was lucky that I had known Sin for as long as I did before I met Yuki. It made things so much simpler. I suppose I should say something to make her feel a bit more welcome before Yavie mobs her and scares her off. “Hello there. My name is Ixen Kaldra. Just Ixen is fine. ” He nodded and smiled warmly at her hoping she wasn’t too intimidated by them.
“OH MY GOSH YOU’RE GORGOUS!” Regaining her semblance of sense. Yavie was now on full spazz mode. “I know Itov said you were the most beautiful fox in the world but I didn’t think that you’d be this pretty!” Yavie started to head to toward the happy couple but her father placed a paw on her tail as she passed. “Papa I promise I won’t tackle her or anything.” Rolling her eyes she pulled from her father’s grasp and trotted right up to Samhain smiling and bouncing. “Hey there. I’m Yavie. I’m Itov’s sister.. well not his only sister since he has a few but I’m one of them. Who are you? Do you want to go pixie hunting with me? I think it would be really fun. I’ve gone before by I never found a pixie so far.” Yavie’s ears flipped back as she sat on her hunches in thought. The silence lasted all of half a second. “You know I don’t know what I would say to a pixie even if I found one. I know I’d ask if I could take them with me to show my mate.” Looking to Itov she waved a paw at him. “Itov why didn’t you tell me she was so pretty? How have you been? What have you been up to?”
Sighing Itov could only stand by idally while his sister bombarded his mate with questions. He had tried to interrupt a few times. Sadly it never worked Yavie just kept on going. Giving a pleading look to his father he cringed when Ixen only shrugged and smiled. Yavie was Yavie. There was simply no changing her nature. Then before Itov realized it the questions started coming at him! “I did try.” He blushed. “You just never listen. I’ve been well and not up to much sadly.” Looking to his mate he figured introductions were in order. “Samahian. My sister Yavie and my father Ixen. I do have other siblings and my father Yuki. Though it seems they couldn’t come.” He looked at Yavie and watched her bob her head in agreement.

“Hello nice to meet you. I’m….” Samhain started but trailed off when Yavie began to speak. “Ah… why thank you” she stated a little stiff. It wasn’t because of the sudden onslaught of questions but more she was trying and succeeding on battling down a blush. Sure she had been called pretty before, this was mostly by dead foxes, and occasionally Itov said she was pretty but she didn’t think she had ever quite been told like that. Then there was the whole Itov thinks yours the prettiest girl in the world.
With slight amusement Samhain watched as her sister in law bounced up and down. “Its nice to meet you Yavie. I’m Samhain.” She answered now only if they didn’t ask her to spell it since the spelling was much different than how it was pronounced. Well of course pixies only live under groups of mushrooms we Celtic like to call fairy houses. They only fly around freely and stuff in Ireland.” She pointed out with a straight face. After all ghosts existed, deer foxes existed why not pixies or pixie foxes. “Sure I can go with you….” And such it was a great opening with a breath she stilled her self for her next comment. “I would assume you would treat them just like you would with ghosts. Be polite and give them time to adjust to you before striking up polite conversation?” she shrugged. Finally Itov had time to speak and she just nodded along and smiled. After all she had said nice to meet you twice no use in killing it.

Ghosts? Wonderful. She’s a calmer version of Yavie. Is my family all bound to marry foxes that are overly hyper or … well not insane but at least quirky? Still at least she gets along well enough with Yavie so far. If she can stand Yavie she can stand anyone in the family. I hope Itov warned her about ‘uncle’ Sin’s past. It would be a shame if a family member found a mate only to have them run for the hills once they got a chance to know the family and learn of our pasts. Standing up he trotted over to Yavie and lightly nipped her tail. “Yavie don’t you think you should give Samhain a bit of space so she can breathe? She’ll go pixie hunting with you so you needn’t worry about her running off and never coming back.” He was relieved when Yavie backed off after giving him a pout. Well now it seems like my cute little bouncy bunny is growing up. “Who knows maybe if you ask nicely she’ll take you along ghost hunting.” He patted Yavie on the head calmly and watched her eyes light up. He winked at Itov’s girl.
Bouncing in place Yavie looked at Samhain with hope and joy. “Really you can talk to ghosts? Do they have any interesting stories to tell? I wonder if ghosts play games like tag or hide and seek. Do you think they do? I hope so. After all it would be so boring if they just floated in a spot all alone. Do ghosts even float? Or do they walk like we do right now?” Yavie held up a paw and looked at it very seriously in thought. “I don’t know anything about ghosts. I’ve never seen one actually. I wonder how you know if a ghost is around or not.” She looked at Samhain wondering what kinds of things Samhain knew about ghosts.
“Yavie.” Itov gave Yavie a warning look not to monopolize his mate. He looked at his father and smiled. “Father Ixen. Samhain has the ability to see ghosts. She is very sweet and important to me. Please understand that. I don’t know what Father Yuki or the other members of the family will say, but I love her and wanted you to know that.” Watching his father very tensely Itov was relieved when his father nodded to him calmly. It was a relief that Ixen seemed so calm in all of this.

Well at least one of them seemed perfectly fine with her ability to see ghosts, but she had figured Itov’s sister would since she talked about pixies. She wondered what her father in law thought on the subject since he hasn’t really sad anything on the subject. It was about then Sor got bored and she watched as he hoped over to Yavie of all foxes and played with a strand of her hair. “Its okay, she’s not bothering me” Samhain pointed out and turned towards Yavie again.
“Ah yes I can talk to ghosts. They play and do what ever they want to do, and they can float if they wish but if they don’t they move around like we do. Well you can tell because things will move, you’ll get cold or some one will touch you and no one will be around.” She explained. She turned back towards Itov and gave him a sincere smile when he did his speech towards his father. She was lucky to have meet him.

“Oh! Is there something here now?” Yavie looked in a direction when she felt her some of her hair get pulled. She moved her tail so that it was dangling over her head on the side that she had felt the strand of hair being tugged on. If there really was a ghost about she wanted to play with it! “It’d be so much fun to play hide and seek with a ghost if you could see them wouldn’t it? Could they hide in places that normal foxes can’t? It would make the game more challenging.” Yavie nodded to herself as she said this. “It’s a lot of fun to play hide and seek with a lot of foxes.” She looked around at her brother, Samhain, and Papa Ixen. “I know! What do you think of us all playing hide and seek together? I think it sounds like fun! Then we could play and get to know one another better. Besides what better way to spend time with family than by playing together. As Itov’s keeper you’re family now Samhain. After all my brother is SO hopeless. You know he used to go off and hide all the time when he was little all because a few foxes called him a ‘demon’. It’s so silly. He’s nothing like a demon at all.. Don’t you agree?”
Sighing Ixen placed a paw over his eyes. He loved Yavie but she switched subjects and went off on random tangents far too often. First it was pixie hunting, then ghosts, then play, then… did she just call Samhain Itov’s keeper? Where did that come form? “Now, now Yavie. Play nice. Your brother is not hopeless. He does just fine in life.. after all I remember a certain chatty kit needing a quite brother to bail her out of things from time to time.” Ixen watched Yavie blush. He didn’t want Itov to have to deal with the memory of being bullied when he was younger, yet it seemed that he would never be allowed to forget it. I wonder what kind of effect that has on him. He never tells me whether he is happy or sad… him saying how dear Samhain is to him is the most vocal and opinionated I’ve ever seen him. “And don’t go badgering Samhain into playing with you. You know not ever fox can keep up with your level of energy.”
Itov blushed and tried looked down at his paws. Should he tell Yavie that a ghost kit had come with them. Then again he couldn’t be 100% sure it was Sor who was playing with Yavie. Perhaps she was imagining things. Hide and seek with a ghost you can’t even see to begin with.. only Yavie would think of that. Still it’s bad enough that Yavie brings up stories like that… Father Ixen don’t just defend me like that.. Samhain will think I’m weak as a kit and laugh at me! “Don’t worry Father I’m used to it and fine with my past.” Puffing out his chest a bit Itov tried to look proud… if failed.

“Ah yes there is something here now” Samhain stated and sent a small little glare towards Sor. Sor just stuck out his tongue and went back to playing with the tail that was so graciously offered to him. “I used to play Hide and seek with the ghosts, they always won. Mostly because they turned invisible and cheated.” She answered. It was kind of refreshing to have so many questions from some one who didn’t care about her ability. “ah really I wouldn’t know I never had any one that wanted to play with me other than foxes that where already passed on” Samhain stated. “Ah… keeper? I’m hardly his keeper silly, besides he went and battled the evil ferocious spawn of satan for my berries, hardly hopeless” Samhain teased giggling a bit. Well her um sister in law was definitely very interesting. “Although I agree, Itov is definitely nothing like a demon” she nodded. She listened to Ixen and then Itov and laughed a bit when he puffed out his chest, oh so he needed a little more work on that.

Flicking her tail back and forth Yavie felt cool patches from time to time but thougth nothing of them and kept right on playing with that air. Surprised she looked at Samhain. “Ghosts can cheat in hide and seek!?! That’s not fair of them to cheat.” Making a small huffing noise Yavie frowned. Cheating of any kind is bad, but cheating in a game of hide and seek is just downright mean! “Why would they cheat. Don’t they know that just makes the game boring to them and not fun for anyone else? It just seems so silly to not play fair.” Tail freezing in mid air for half a second before waging slightly faster than it was before. Oh she’s really never played with other foxes that wheren’t ghosts before? WE DEFINITELY HAVE TO PLAY A GAME NOW! No matter what. “He really battled evil things for you? How romantic! Your definitely his keeper if you’ve got him on a leash fighting things as your guardian.” Oh she’s fun. I like my new sister a lot already. Beaming Yavie pawed at the air in front of her with a ridiculously happy expression on her face.
Wonderful now my son has a mate and is acting like a young fox in love. Full of reckless behavior and a self destructive attitude to show off. If he survives into real maturity I’ll kill him for making me and Yuki worry about him all the time. Only listening to his son’s request for the sake of Itov’s pride Ixen bit his tounge and listened to the two girls talk to one another. Yavie seemed happy and Samhain seemed to tolerate her well enough. All in all things seem to be going rather smoothly. The orange vixen had a good head on her shoulders. It was refreshing to know that his son had found someone who seemed so dependable. “Sahmain. If you’d like to play a game I’m sure Yavie and Itov would love to play with you. I know I still enjoy playing games from time to time.” Though mine usually involve me trying to get and keep the ‘kits’ out while I get some time with Yuki. Looking over at Itov he wondered what kind of ‘evil ferocious spawn of Satan’ that his boy supposedly fought off.
Well it’s always an eye opener to see how Yavie thinks. Blushing Itov shifted his weight as the conversation continued on about him. How on earth does she come up with things like that? Still it’s nice to know that Samhain doesn’t think me hopeless. Sighing he wanted to move the conversation away from himself. It was uncomfortable being the center of attention. “Shall we go lay down or would like to play a game?” Itov watched as his sister nodded ephatily to the second while his father seemed more interested in the former. Personally he didn’t mind either so he looked to Samhain leaving it up to her.
