The empty container was discarded (really, the least of Destiny City's problems were litter, though hopefully she would remember to pick it back up later) and Fluorite nodded. "Okay..." Clearly she had her own reticence, but Painite had been the one to ask. It was an order from a captain to a lieutenant, right ?
Fluorite was in motion then, focusing more on her dodging that outright attacking for a the moment. It wasn't too hard, as long as she could see where the attack was coming from.
This went on for a few minutes, and then Fluorite saw an opening - and went straight for the captain's knees.

Painite nodded her head confidently.
It was different, the idea of training and hurting, when she was offering herself as a punching bag. She didn't have to feel guilty about it, and it allowed Fluorite to get a bit more out of the encounter. It was a good way to learn, and it would help Painite, as well. Any real battle situation, even if she was holding her own attacks back, would help her get more used to blocking, dodging and reacting in her own right. So it was a two way street. Take a few hits so Fluorite could learn how to hit with her speed helping her, while at the same time practicing her own skills about a lithe and quick opponent.
She was small, but not as fast as Fluorite seemed to be. Even as Captain, Painite's footwork wasn't as natural to her. As a Lieutenant she had spent a lot of time with her traps, and still did, and though she trained with her hobby horse and now her javelin rather regularly she maybe didn't pay as much attention to her feet as she now imagined she should have.
Pulling back from an attack that had missed the dodging Fluorite, she realized too late that she had left herself open for an attack. She hadn't even expected it to be against her knees, which buckled and she hit the ground. It gave Fluorite the chance to follow through, to go with the idea Painite had offered about keeping an opponent off their guard once they were down.
Not that she was just letting it happen: Painite was trying to get back to her feet and attack as soon as possible.

AHA !
That was a nice hit, a nice hit indeed - had this been a truly serious fight, Fluorite would have a considerable advantage - as it was, though, she was trying to bring as little harm onto her trainer as possible, so she only tapped her shoulder with her foot to pin her down to the ground.
"Gotcha." She grinned, then just laughed, letting go and offering Painite her hand to help her back up. "How do you feel ? That was a good run." Fluorite wasn't tired, but the captain might be. "We could take a quick break - there's a place that makes amazing shakes right down the streets. I've got to thank you for this, after all !"

Painite let out a whoosh of air when she was knocked back down, though she hadn't gotten very far in her efforts to stand anyway. She grunted, then looked up at Fluorite in surprise and no small amount of satisfaction.
"Good show!" She laughed excitedly, reaching up to take Fluorite's hand and get up to her feet. She was getting up slowly, then made to pull the girl toward her as she stood. It was just to throw her off balance, throwing her arm around Fluo's neck and hugging her tightly. She ruffled the younger Nega's hair exuberantly.
"That was very good! I think you should keep up the training, and you'll be a right badass. Not as awesome as I am, of course, but close." She grinned and released Fluo with a laugh, sounding like she only believed half of what she said, and it wasn't the part about herself for a change. Nodding her head eagerly, she said, "I could go for shakes!"

Fluorite let out a yelp when she was thrown off-balance. "Hey ! Heeeey !" She was laughing, though, even as she playfully tried to swat the hand attacking her away.
"Ah, you think so ?" She couldn't help but blush a little. She couldn't help but be amazed about how everyone she's met so far had been so supportive, and so eager to help her.
"Well, let's go, then !"
