εlεαησr ♔ ¯¯¯¯¯¯ ♔ • εαgεr hυfflερυffEleanor clung tighter to the boy as he whizzed her around, letting out small squeals as they went. She wanted to stop, but at the same time didn't. It was strange.. but her fear instantly vanished when she heard a familiar voice. "Mattie!" She called happily, instantly embracing her brother in a hug. Unfortunately not everyone seemed as happy as her at the Ravenclaw's entrance.
Seeing the Slytherin storm off, Eleanor huffed and turned to frown at Matt. "Mattie, you don't have to be such a fuddy duddy! We were just playing," She assured him with a grin. She was about to start talking to Matthew about everything that had happened - her falling over and Quill helping her out - when she spotted a face she hadn't seen in a long time. "EZZIE!!" Eleanor exclaimed, rushing over to hug Ezra tightly. "Hey cutie! I haven't seen you in like, way too long!!" She gushed, completely ignoring the Gryffindor girl he was talking to.

Eswen literally jumped when she heard Ezra's voice behind her--it had scared her more than the two first years barreling down the hallway! A bit panicked, she glanced back and then immediately regretted it. There was a girl clinging to him and Eswen felt as if someone had punched her in the stomach. "Y-you never learn," Eswen mumbled, casting her eyes away from the scene before her. It was horrible--it disgusted her! How could he just go around using people like that? What kind of human being could do that so easily? Quickening her pace, Eswen made a retreat down the nearest hallway. But she hesitated a second and looked back, wondering if she should help the girl. But after seeing the scene a second time, she looked away and continued down the hallway, fuming. That manipulative jerk!
She was glad he used her, actually! At least then she wouldn't have to be strung along by him longer! It was a good thing that he reared his ugly head so soon, it saved Eswen some time that she could be studying potions with! Yes... potions... She began to recite the instructions for the Draught of Living Death in her head. Ingredients needed are wormwood, asphodel, valerian roots, Sloth brain, and the juice of a sopophorous bean, which must be crushed to get the juices from it... Even though this usually comforted her, it didn't make her feel any better this time. Eswen just couldn't get over how such a person could get into Gryffindor! H-how such a person could come to existence, actually! He had almost had her convinced when he apologized back there, too! Thank Merlin that she didn't fall for his trap again!
Eswen found herself breathing heavily by the time she had made her way down the entire span of the hallway. Once she turned around the corner, she leaned against the wall and caught her breath. Her body was still shaking with what she believed to be anger and her thoughts still swarmed uneasily of Ezra. He's a git! Eswen thought to herself, using one of her father's favorite insults.

Saga had merely enough time to raise her eyebrow before the scene exploded in front of her. Matt ran over to his twin and began bellowing at the Slytherin boy, forgetting to inquire why the two Gryffindors had been after him in the first place. The other Gryffindor girl, the creepy one named Eswen Grimm, was slinking down the hallway when Ezra, a popular Gryffindor, tried to catch up to her. Then, Ezra was bombarded by a giant yellow and black leech. "UCK! Get a room, you too!" Saga announced, not actually understanding the meaning of what she said. She had just heard one of her Grandma's clients use it before and it sounded like it worked in this situation. "P.D.A.'s vile, y'know?" Saga frowned, walking past the Slytherin boy, who she stared at for a second, and then Eswen, to Matt's side.
"She's your sister?" She inquired to Matt. They didn't act anything alike! They were polar opposites, to be truthful! The only way Saga could ever see Matt clinging to someone was if he drank a strong Love Potion, which, with his brains, he was likely never to do. "She seems... friendly," Saga commented, looking at how she glomped Ezra.
"Having fun Ezra? Aren't you the popular boy--I thought you were going out with that Eswen girl over there--or did you already break up?" Saga inquired rather heartlessly. She never particularly enjoyed Ezra's presence. He was quite the jerk with all his friends and there were few times he actually wasn't with one of them. Not only that, but a few days ago he made fun of Eswen. That just pissed Saga off. Eswen was different and all but that didn't give him the right to make fun of her like that. Saga could only hope that she was doing some major damage to his relationship with Matt's twin by saying what she did. If she was lucky, perhaps they were going out! That relationship would come crashing down!

εzrα ♂ ¯¯¯ ♔ • cσcκγ grγffιηdσrEzra's eyes widened as he was attacked by the miniature girl. "No, Eswen, please don't-!" He called. Too late, she was gone, and positively pissed nonetheless. Ezra glared at Eleanor, shoving her away from him. "Sheesh, Eleanor, you didn't see that I was talking to someone?" He snarled. He didn't have time to think about the pathetic girl in front of him, Ezra had to find Eswen and- Damn, there's another one! 'Where are all these psycho girls coming from!?' He thought, exasperated, as his attention was turned to Saga.
Ezra glared at her angrily. What right did she have to butt in? "Bugger off Saga," He snapped, completely overwhelmed by the situation, "Me and Essie.. Eswen... were never dating! I lied so those people would leave us alone, ok? Can the the whole world just.. leave me alone!?" He could tell that if he didn't leave soon he'd start crying, which was not something a manly man like himself wanted people to see. He quickly turned around and chased after Eswen.
He turned corner after corner but couldn't find her. "Eswen.. Eswen please.. I'm so sorry," He shouted at first, but his voice started to fade into a pathetic whimper. He wasn't sure if she could hear him, and it didn't matter now. She hated him, period. Collapsing in a pile near the wall of a deserted hallway, Ezra resisted the tears that threatened to burst through. Huddled in a ball, Ezra wished he would just disappear. 'Crap.. Eswen hates me. Saga hates me. Now even Eleanor will hate me.. Why do I do this to myself?' He thought, instantly regretting the harsh words and tone he had used on the other girls earlier.

εlεαησr ♔ ¯¯¯¯¯¯ ♔ • εαgεr hυfflερυffEleanor watched the other girl leave, her head tilted in confusion. She was about to ask what was wrong with her when she was shoved. Stumbling, Eleanor looked up at Ezra pathetically. He was yelling at her! "I.. what?" She asked, having no idea of what was going on. She was just excited to see him.. why was he being so mean? Eyes tearing up, Eleanor let out a small whimper, scared of the angry Gryffindor before her. Watching him storm off she turned to the pale-haired girl nearby. "Why would you say that?" She asked when she said 'to get a room'. Eleanor didn't even know what that meant, but she knew it was mean. 'Why are people being mean to me? I'm not being mean to them!' Lip wavering, she ran off in the same direction Quill had gone, tears sliding down her cheeks.
Eleanor cried silently as she ran. She wanted to have fun again, like the fun she had with the Slytherin boy. As she passed a statue, she skidded to a halt. That was where the boy was before! She glanced behind it and, sure enough, there he was again! Eleanor debated waking him up to demand some attention and fun when she heard voices. Looking around, she saw a bunch of Gryffindors. Head tilting, he hoisted herself up onto the base of the statue, kicking her legs back and forth as she sat and watched the Gryffindors. The Slytherin boy didn't seem very keen on catching the attention of the group, so Eleanor figured that her sitting there would distract them. She smiled and waved to them, hoping they wouldn't notice her tear-stained face. A few of them tentatively waved back, but luckily for her they just kept walking.

Quillan hadn't noticed Eleanor coming and even when she distracted the Gryffindors he hadn't noticed. Instead, he was focused on some strange choking noises coming from another hallway. Completely absorbed, he went towards the noises.
"Dude--are you crying?" Quillan's head had popped out from the curve of the wall minutes ago to see a Gryffindor boy in hysterics. It was strange enough for a boy to be crying but a Gryffindor none the less? Weren't they supposed to be the brave ones? Though this would've been a perfect opportunity to make fun of him, Quillan didn't. Instead, he stood up and walked over the where the Gryffindor was sitting. "Buck up, champ. Get up." He encouraged, bending down and wedging his arms under the boy's armpits before pulling him up. Gah! He's a heavy bloke! Quillan grunted a bit before be was finally able to pull the boy fully up. "'Tis okay, 'tis okay." He reassured, wrapping his arms around the boy's waist and hugging him softly.
Quillan didn't find anything awkward about the hug, but then again, he didn't find certain things awkward when they ought to be. When he released, Quillan patted the boy on the head. "Are we better now?" He inquired in all seriousness, though he almost sounded like he was mocking the boy. Normally, he would've been too. Heck, the Gryffindor even managed to wake him because he was sobbing so loud. However, Quillan could be compassionate when he wanted to be! And seeing a guy breaking down was shameful enough, he didn't need to rube salt on the wound.
"You could tell me what happened if you like," Quillan wrapped his arm around the stout boy's shoulders. He dug in his pocket for a few seconds before pulling out a chocolate frog, "Want one? I find that chocolate always makes me feel better--especially when you catch it in you're teeth." He grinned a little, offering out the frog to the Gryffindor. "Either that or I have some jellies--but you never know what those could turn out like, so no promises there."

mαττhεω ♔ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ♔ • ρrσυd rανεηclαωMatthew raised an eyebrow at the boy when he chucked his little tantrum. He watched him leave with a small sigh. "I-I offended him.." He stated in a soft voice, "I should apologize." He felt awful, and only felt worse when Eleanor told him to lighten up. "I'm sorry Elle, I was just worried for your safety.." He explained, gently brushing a strand of her hair behind her ear.
Watching her hug the Gryffindor male, Matthew frowned. He had seem him before.. ah yes! He was the boy who had 'dated' his sister! He had been enrolled in Hogwarts too? 'Small world..' He thought. Matthew chuckled as his sister hugged the boy, knowing her attentions were innocent. He looked down at Saga when she talked to him. "Ahaha yes, indeed she is. It's hard to tell, isn't it?" He said with pride, his eyes sparkling as he talked about her, "She can be hard to manage sometimes, I won't deny it, but.. I do love her. She's very loving and caring, she just gets.. distracted easily."
Matthew didn't understand what followed. Saga's harsh words, the Gryffindor girl - Eswen, he gathered - storming off or the boy's anger. One thing he did understand, however, was his sister's tears. Eyes widening Matthew ran towards her. "Elle, don't cry!" He exclaimed, but she was gone. Matthew felt so useless knowing he couldn't cheer her up. "That boy.. Ezra you said?" He asked Saga, "He made my sister cry. And he made that other girl sad too.. How can one be so heartless?" Matthew hated conflict, and he barely knew why it ever occurred.

Eswen softly pushed herself off the wall and gave a soft sigh. It didn't feel satisfactory to call Ezra names, it really didn't. Even if he deserved it 100%, it still didn't feel good to Eswen. Instead, she just tried to forget about him--which was what she was doing all week and having little luck at. However, it was easier now--especially since walking down the hallway was the same group of Gryffindors that had taunted her with Ezra earlier this week. Jumping to the wall, she held her breath and prayed to Merlin that they didn't notice her. Thankfully, someone distracted them. After they passed, Eswen turned around to see the girl that was hugging Ezra earlier crying. "Oh my!" Eswen hurried over to her, "Here, take this handkerchief," she dug into the pockets of her robes and pulled out a white piece of cloth with green lace on it.
"Oh, please don't cry!" Eswen didn't know what to do--how was she supposed to comfort someone? "Um... t-there, there..." Eswen had remembered her father saying that to her once--though she couldn't quite understand why those "there's" were comforting at all. Anything was worth a shot though! She hadn't the slightest idea what to do to comfort her! Of all people, why had Eswen been the one to find a crying girl, the girl who Ezra had also manipulated? She hadn't the slightest idea what to say!
"O-oh.... if you don't want your eyes to swell... we need to get some ice." Eswen added, trying to go with logical incentive for the Hufflepuff to stop crying. "You're far too pretty to cry!" She gave a soft smile, though it didn't seem like it helped at all.
"U-um... if it makes you feel any better, he did it to me too." Eswen tried to relate to the girl, hoping that it was the right thing to do. "A... a few days ago, actually..."

Hearing a voice, Eleanor turned to look at the girl approaching her. Eyes wide, she realized it was the girl that had gotten upset with Ezra. Eleanor was confused as to why this girl was trying to cheer her up, but she appreciated the effort. She smiled weakly at her compliment and stared up at Eswen with big eyes.
When she mentioned something about Ezra, Eleanor frowned, utterly confused. "D-did what?" She whimpered, rubbing her eyes to get the tears away. "The only thing Ezra did was treat me like a princess..." She whispered quietly, staring straight ahead. "He was such a sweetie! I mean, sure he became a little different when his friends were around, but he was still super nice," She reminisced, smiling lightly at the memories, "He... he's sorta changed though. Ezra would never have yelled at a girl for hugging him when we were dating." She turned to smiled lightly at Eswen, "He must really like you."

Saga glanced at Matt. "No idea. Some people are just cruel, I suppose..." She responded, running her hand through her hair to calm herself. It was a bit of a habit. "We better go after your sister--or rather, you should... She doesn't seem that keen on me though." Saga couldn't blame her, she nearly made Ezra, EZRA, of all people, cry! Even she was feeling like a horrible human being now! He never cried! NEVER! He was all about being a man's man or something! Thinking back on it, though Ezra was a jerk, was he normally that insensitive? The answer was YES, but she had never seen him get so worked up before. Were they missing part of the picture or something? Rarely ever had she seen Ezra genuine...
"You know him--or at least your sister does, right? Is Ezra normally like that?" Saga inquired to Matt. "When I see him with his friends, he's always showing off... and the girls all love him for some reason." She added with bitterness. Honestly, she didn't see what was so great about him--however, she was still curious about his reaction. He said that Eswen and he weren't dating but what's up with him getting so upset still? "A lot of people like him, y'know... So maybe he isn't as insensitive as we think?--though, from the looks of things, he is..." Saga couldn't help but add.
"Anyway, should we find them?" She inquired. However, before they could make a move, a group of Slytherins came walking down the hallway, one of them bumping into Saga as they made their way through. "Jerkks!" She muttered, clutching the arm one had bumped.

Expecting harsh words, Ezra was utterly surprised when the boy offered him comfort. Frowning, Ezra tried to get away from the boy who was trying almost too hard to cheer him up. "Back off man, I'm not in the mood - I've had the worst day. The last thing I need is a Slytherin tormenting me!" He sighed. Ezra just assumed the boy was being insincere. Why would a stranger - a Slytherin nonetheless - want to help him?
Ezra was about to walk off when he looked at the boy closely. He.. couldn't sense insincerity. If anything it seemed that the boy genuinely wanted to help Ezra. Sighing, he rested against the wall, allowing the orange-haired boy to put his arms around Ezra's shoulders. "I'm sorry for yelling at you.. Girls, man, I am so sick of them," He moaned. Accepting the chocolate gratefully, he nodded his thanks for taking a bite. "I really liked Eswen, you know? But the world seems to think that it's funny to keep her totally pissed at me.. Not like I don't deserve it," He admitted. Looking at the Slytherin once more, Ezra frowned. "Have I seen you before? You look familiar.." He mused. Seeing him with that bloody nose made the Gryffindor think his fist was the cause.. Not of that particular injury, but of one before.

"W-w-w-what?!" Eswen stuttered. Ezra like her? That was preposterous! Absolutely mental, in fact. However, she didn't point it out to Eleanor, she was still a bit shaky, though the tears seemed to have stopped. Ah, did she not realize that he was using her? Eswen wondered, looking down at the girl sympathetically. "I-I don't think that's the case," she said softly, trying not to rile the girl up any further. However, even though she thought Eleanor was tricked, she couldn't help but hesitate at her description. She had said Ezra was different with his friends, which was true... Was everything the Hufflepuff girl had said true then? I'm sure that she thinks it is... Eswen commented, a skeptic to the end. It was likely that Eleanor never realized what Ezra was like--what was he like, anyway? Eswen felt her body swell with guilt and regret. What if she had just misunderstood the entire situation?
But... that still didn't erase the fact that he had used her to get in a better situation with his friends and that fact continued to bother Eswen. She went over what Eleanor said in her head. Treat her like a princess... sweetie... around his friends--
"DATING?!" Eswen gasped, her eyes wide. "You two were dating?" she inquired, her stomach tightening again. "B-but... we're only eleven!" Eswen protested. Just the thought of dating someone was enough to make heat rise to her cheeks. How could they think of such a thing now? They were tons more important things to do--li-like... studying! Or making potions! Or studying skewts! Or anything else! How-how--"dating?"

mαττhεω ♔ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ♔ • ρrσυd rανεηclαωMatthew nodded in agreement. The last thing he wanted was for his poor sister to end up alone somewhere, crying.. someone could take advantage of her! He was about to turn and go find her when Saga asked a question about Ezra. Matthew remained silent as she talked, taking in every word. He laughed and shook his head. "The fact that I didn't object to my sister hugging him should answer that question for you," He answered with a smile. "Ezra is confused. He craves popularity and acts like a complete moron to gain it. I'm not denying that he can be insensitive, but I know that that isn't all there is to him. He made my sister happy, and I never heard her once complain about him or anything he did. That makes him nice enough in my books," Matthew explained, "Though I also am confused as to why and females find him attractive."
Matthew was about to lead the search for his sister when the Slytherins walked past. Most of them avoided the two, but some had bumped into Saga. Frowning, Matthew grabbed the shoulder of the 'leader' and spun him around. "Excuse me, did you have a reason to hurt this girl?" He asked sternly, not caring that the whole group turned on him. Instinctively standing in front of Saga, Matthew stood his ground firmly. "I believe you should apologize to this girl and then continue on," He stated defensively.

Ah-ha! So a Slytherins' reputation does precede him! Quillan thought with a mild sense of pride. Oh wait, that bugger Attor's a Slytherin... I don't suppose I want to be associated with that kind... Quillan didn't appreciate Attor much, he had decided to randomly punch him one day in the Common Room. Quillan was completely innocent! Innocent, I say! Oh well. What's done is done--he had got him back by hitting him with a hardcover book anyway. "Don't judge a book by it's cover," Quillan mused, more of to himself than to the Gryffindor. That hardcover volume of that Muggle-book did pack quite a punch! Though the insides were thoroughly lacking when Quillan took the time to look. There weren't any pictures at all!
Girl troubles? That's why his crying--are you serious? Quillan pursed his lips and tried his best to continue looking sympathetic for his cause. They were eleven, what was so great about girls always? Especially not when they winked at you either! Then they were just depressingly boring and way too girlish for his likings. "It'll turn around eventually, champ. We do have all year, it's not like someone can hate another person for an entire year. It takes up far too much energy--trust me, I've seen it before. They give up in a month or too--if you make them laugh, it goes quicker though." Quillan explained with a shrug, letting his arm slip off from the Gryffindor's shoulders. "I think my cousin's still bitter about me going to Hogwarts though, I'll let you know if the one month thing legitimate after Christmas break." A soft chuckle came out of his throat. Drew was probably still angry at him--Quill was looking forward to it.
"Have we? I'm sorry, I'm not that good with faces." Quillan admitted with another shrug. His eyes followed Ezra's gaze to his nose and Quillan quirked his head to the side. "What are you looking--OH!" Quillan's fingers had been tracing up his face as he said that and when his fingers touched his nose, a sharp pain radiated from the spot. "Yikers--do you suppose it's broken? Wouldn't be the first, y'know... Injured my leg the other day, two times... actually... and then my cheek got messed up... And a little bit after that I got in a fight with some kid--no idea why, though... Just attacked me. Anyway, I hope the nurse let's me skip classes while it fixes!"

You didn't see him crying?" She asked. 'You know... I think this girl left before the waterworks started.' She considered.
At Eswen's reaction Eleanor couldn't help but giggle. "Silly, isn't it?" She agreed with a grin, "Don't worry, we never kissed or anything. And I don't think it was really dating.. We just called it that. Since you know, all of our friends were and stuff. I just really liked him, and he liked me." Having this conversation with the Gryffindor had somehow managed to cheer Eleanor up, which made her eyes bright with excitement. "Thanks for making me happy again! You're a good friend!" She exclaimed, hugging the girl compassionately. Hugging was something Eleanor did almost too much.
