Did he? Bah, details. The fact of the matter when it came of talk of "goals" or "hobbies" everyone seemed to judge him. "Feh." He was happy as he was!
"Figures." It was a small world, after all. Redhead Kid was siblings with black eyed chic. Noted. "Awesome. Lead the way, Seidh." He said, still sporting an unamused scowl as was his nature, yet politely handing back the container. He didn't shove it at her? Progress.
Where was this fabled place that had hobbies? Did he care? No, he was looking for an easy way to smite his opposer. Haters can hate all they want, but Vahn would show them his lifestyle was so much cooler than these dumb hobbies! Sitting on a couch with chips watching marathons was epic. They just didn't get it! Just wait and see!, he thought, I'll be watching Gaia Shore by the end of the day!

Seidh didn’t want to be mean! But he was making it hard to stay nice.
The teen sighed a bit at Vahn’s attitude, but took back her container, tucking it into her book bag. “Thank you.” She replied, not one to toss out her manners. “Alright…We’re going to the book store…Matty.” She replied. She could be a bit sarcastic too at least! She wasn’t exactly sure why she was bothering with helping him, as he hadn’t done anything nice for her at all or even said anything nice. But maybe…the chance of showing him the ‘error of his ways’ was too tempting to pass up. Besides, she did want to go to the book store, so it was a double win.
At this the teen led the way to the book store, and was even so kind as to hold the door open for him. Once they were inside, Seidh led the way to a corner of the book store that held a ton of books all about different hobbies. She turned then to look at Vahn expectantly.

Vahn's head whipped to the side, staring at Seidh as if he'd seen a ghost. ".....That goddamn kid." He growled, gritting his teeth. He followed after her, his hands stuffed in his pockets, hunched over and grumbling to himself about missing the afternoon lineup of some TV station.
Seidh's attempt at chivalry went unnoticed, as Vahn slipped through the door as if all doors were just supposed to open for him anyway. Clearly, the world revolved around him, right? "Right so..." He looked from Seidh to the books, scanning the aisles. "These are books." He said dumbly, scratching his head. "I asked for hobbies. What good will a book..." He paused mid rant, gazing into his own thoughts for a moment. He himself was born from a book, after all. He huffed and wandered to an aisle labeled helpfully as "hobbies". Excellent. A fine start.
His eyes scanned the shelves, looking over the subjects shown. Drawing? Crafts? Music? Gardening? These are what hobbies are? He picked up a book, flipped a few pages, grunted then stuffed it back onto the shelf in favor of an 'easier' hobby. "They all sound complicated. Why are there so many pages?" He grumbled, a severe frown on his face, as if this was entirely too difficult.

Seidh kept her gaze ahead, and couldn’t help but smile as Vahn growled. It was a nice, little victory. Just a little one. But still nice.
The lilac haired teen followed the bad tempered wolf into the book store, sighing softly once more and pausing when he stopped. “They are books.” She agreed with his observation wholeheartedly. She waited to see what else he would say, her lips just quirking a bit as he answered his own question and she followed after him again. While he was leafing through books, Seidh found one about cupcake ideas and decorating, plucking it off the shelf and looked through it with interest.
When Vahn started to grumble she glanced over at him. “…Because it takes time to master hobbies…and it wants to make sure you learn well.”

"Takes time? How much time are we talking here?" This just sounded like work, not fun! Weren't these hobby things suppsoed to be fun? "And you call my hobby a chore! Look at this! 200 pages on how to plant a damn pansy!" He pouted and stuffed another book back on to the shelf, glancing at the book Seidh was reading. "Why are you reading that? You already know how to bake!" He said as if what she was doing was a dumb idea. If you were good at something, why bother learning more? One would suppose that was one way of saying the cupcakes were good?
Vahn tapped his foot on the ground. He picked up another book. Oh, guitar! You just had to hit it with your hand right? Easy peasy! Why were there so many books on it? Vahn smirked, feeling like this would be a piece of cake. He began reading a few pages, his confident demeanor gradually turning to befuddlement. "What? Chords? Why are there so many?" He mimicked the way the book was telling him to do things, huffing and putting that book back to. "I can't do that. You'd have to have like, crazy fingers.." Drums? A book on drums? Hah! That's just hitting an over sized, upside down cooking pot with a stick! He chuckled in a self assuring manner, picking up the book, and flipping through some pages.
"Wha...but..." What were all these terms? None of it made sense!

“As ever long as it needs.” She answered simply, tilting her head a bit at the werewolf’s sudden outbursts. It seemed like he was getting overwhelmed and it almost made her feel a bit bad. Almost. “…If it’s something you really, truly want to do, it’s not work.” She reiterated once more, blinking as he asked her about the book she was reading. “I’m reading it because I want to get better…there’s always room for improvement…and it gives me new ideas.”
Her head tilted even more as she watched the teen continue to become even more frustrated. “…I play piano too.” She murmured, blinking as he discarded the guitar and drum books. “Um…how about…have you seen anything on television…that you thought…looked fun…or that you would like to try?”

If it was something he wanted to do? What did he want to do? "Well, what I want to do is watch TV." He grumbled under his breath. Why was that not a suitable hobby?
"Why get better at something you're good at already? Seems redundant." Such a silly girl. Vahn just didn't seem to understand the concept of loving and enjoying a hobby, or aspiring to be more than he is.
....and Piano? Vahn cast a look at Seidhe, his brow furrowed in frustration, as well as a look that seemed to say why are you telling me this in my time of great strife?! She already had a hobby! Baking, right? Two hobbies? Clearly, Seidh just loved overworking herself. Clearly.
"Uh..." He stopped flipping through books to think about stuff he saw on TV. Reality TV with drunken parties and competing psycho moms, television series set on planets and olden times, and sports and infomercials and cartoons! He was supposed to remember something he wanted to do? "I just.. watch. I don't do. Other people do stuff. I don't live in a jungle, so how am I supposed to track deadly predators?" He said, as if going against that fact were completely alien. He glared at the horrible misleading books, claiming of fun and easy hobbies for beginners. "I don't like running, or swimming, or stuff that makes me sweat too much. It's not like I'm good at anything.." Wait! "Uuh I mean.." Crap, he said something that was unflattering and very not cool! "S-so unless there are hobbies that include sniffing out a steak from a mile away.."
Vahn was hardly energetic. He wasn't up for much that used a whole lot of energy. Now that he was quite dejected, he stared at the foreboding shelf with a few sighs. There had to be something simple? He peered over at a small book, picking it up and looking it over. It looked like it was about designing a rec room. Lame. He thumbed through it anyway, stopping at a page with a dart board. "What's that?" He asked pointing.

Seidh sighed a bit once more.
“Because there’s always room for improvement.” She replied. “And if you just drop it…you’ll lose your edge after a while.” She blinked at the look she was given when she told him about playing piano as well. “It’s…very common to have more than one hobby…”
She listened as he talked about the stuff he watched on the television, frowning a bit. “…Doesn’t it…get boring…just always watching? Don’t you ever want to…do something? Try it for yourself?” When he talked about tracking she perked up. “…You don’t need to live in a jungle to track things…I think you could track…things…in the forests around here…the…thrill of the hunt?” The teen was going to point out that swimming didn’t make one sweat, as they were already soaked anyways, but she dropped it when Vahn suddenly looked…defeated. You know, it actually made her kind of sad to see someone so…lost. Maybe that’s why he’s the way he…is?
The teen fell silent, absent mindedly staring at the cupcake book until Vahn asked a question. She looked up and over at what he was pointing at. “…Oh…that’s a dart board…you throw darts at it…trying to land them in the center...it’s a game.”

Boring? TV? He always liked watching. Was there something more than that? Thrill of the hunt, huh? But what reason was there in hunting here? There was no wild saber tooth ravaging the town, no pack of wild animals that needed subduing. Sounded fun though. He was sure he could probably enjoy it.. maybe. TV always made it seem like an adventure, but was real life interesting enough to keep him happy?
"Can.. games be hobbies?" He asked, staring back at Seidh. He looked back to the book. Chucking sharp things at a wall sounded easy and fun. The book had other things: Pool tables. It also had shuffle boards. Games could be hobbies, right? Heck, Vance played video games. Was that a hobby?
He put the book away. He still felt lost. His whole lifestyle was being judged and questioned. It aways had been, but it was easy when Donovan did it, since he figured Donovan was just a lame a** Adult. but a fellow teenager was saying there was supposed to be more? His initial response to this was grumbles and pouting. His ears bent backward, his brow furrowed, and his tail sagged sadly. What was this? Did he want to aspire to something more? How strange.
Maybe! He should figure out what normal werewolves do! He bounded further into the store, finding a section on animals, ad flipping through books on wolves. Hunted in packs? Lame. Lone wolf? That was more his style! Still, none of this told him what to do!
This boy had no imagination.

When he asked if games could be hobbies, Seidh gave a good nod of her head. “I think so. You practice to get better…you have fun playing them…” Maybe they were getting somewhere now?
The teen frowned a bit though when Vahn put the book away and even looked dejected as well. Was he…actually upset now? Was television not…good enough anymore? He…kind of reminded her…of herself, looking like that. Still uncertain as to what the future held…what she’d be doing…who she…might be with…maybe she’d be…all alo—
Seidh was startled from her sad thought as Vahn took off to another section of the store and she followed, taking the cupcake book with her. Glancing around at the animal books, Seidh stood behind the teen, peeking over his shoulder a bit. A wolf book? What did he hope to find in there?

Vahn looked over his shoulder at Seidh, pausing for a moment before furrowing his brow and looking back to the book. "Wolves are boring." He said flatly, shoving the book in the shelf as if caught red handed with something embarrassing. "I thought maybe it would say what wolves like to do for fun." Was that dumb?
"They like meat, I like meat. Thats about all the similarities I saw." Vahn crossed his arms, pursing his lips as he judged the books by their covers. "This is too much info all at once." He said with a scoff, going right back to being defensive.

Seidh blinked as Vahn seemed to go a bit on the defensive upon being caught with the book. “Well…” She started off. “…Techincally…Matty…you’re not a wolf…you’re a Curio.” She wasn’t saying this to mock him, not in the slightest; she was just stating that that’s why he probably wouldn’t find anything helpful in the wolf book.
“…That’s why…you take it slow…one day at a time…” She soothed, or tried to anyways. “…No one is expecting you…to…have it all figured out…right…now.” Seidh trailed off and looked befuddled herself. She should start following her own advice, really! Don’t preach it if you’re not going to practice it. At this she couldn’t help but chuckle softly to herself. Oh…she was a silly girl indeed…a silly girl with an idea! Seidh put her book back and approached Vahn once more.
“Follow me.” Once it seemed he was going to do that, Seidh booked it out of the store and nearby to a little sports store. Upon entering the store, the teen asked an associate where their dart boards were and once she was directed to the right aisle, Seidh made her selection. She didn’t exactly have a lot of money to spend, but she bought the best one she could. It wasn’t the cheapest, but it definitely wasn’t the most expensive either, but luckily it came with a board and a set of darts! After making the purchase, the teen held the bag out to Vahn.
“A free hobby.”

Ugh. She said Matty again. He took her advice with a grain of salt, pursing his lips again. He justed wanted to be home, safe and sound, with chips in his lap, the lights turned off and a good movie playing.
Vahn's ears perked up, being brought back from his brooding to regard the girl. She seemed like she was on to something? He blinked, watching her start to leave, and following after her. Wow, she was bounding away! He kept up, slowing down once inside the store. Sports equipment? But.. sweat!
He watched curiously as Seidh moved about, getting a dart board. What was she doing?
No...way.
Vahn blinked, looking from the board back to her. "Why?" He asked, not even taking the thing yet. "I'm not gonna give you anything, so why help me?" He was puzzled, stunned, and far too stubborn to utter a simple thank you.

Seidh continued to hold the bag out to him. “I’m not doing this because I expect something from you.” She answered simply. “I’m doing it because I like to help. I’m hoping you’ll like it.” That money was supposed to buy her a new pair of shoes and a book…but…oh well. Life seemed more fun when surprises happened (sometimes), and even though Vahn had…upset her at first, she felt determined now to see him through something more than a television.
A lot of times too, the best revenge was kindness.
The teen wiggled the bag a bit, waiting for him to take it.

So, he could just take it? No ulterior motive? She just wanted him to enjoy it, without relying on television?
Well then. Take the bag? It seemed heavy for her. He cautiously took the bag, as if she might have laid a trap for him. He looked it over, sniffing a bit before lifting it over his shoulder.
He looked to the side, to the ground, to her, back to the side, up, back to her. "Well then.." He said with a cautious stare, "It's getting late and stuff." And he was hungry for real food. Meat food. "Weirdos come out at night. I'll walk you home. It'd be pretty stupid if you walked alone. Don't be dumb." Evidently, this was his way of thanking her?
