(( Delta Four is entering from the Beach Travel Thread. ))

Fedora had checked her phone, and almost literally jumped at the chance to get a pendant. Hopefully, it would work for her - she had a feeling. She wasn't sure if it was a good feeling or a bad one, but it was still a feeling.

She felt strange, walking into the large gymnasium in her full gear, and she idly thought that she wasn't dressed appropriately.

Bygones.

She walked over to the pendants, and after a moment's hesitation, took only one and put it on. Fedora had already found out firsthand that it was bad to disregard rules, so she decided to abide by them.

Lifting the necklace, she put it on, and let out a sigh, immediately thinking of the worst. It couldn't be this easy. It just couldn't.

She held up the pendant and stared at it. What if some were fake?

{ Theta Nine enters from the Beach travel thread. }

Once the afterimage of the blue flash faded, Thyme studied his surroundings. He filed the basket full of pendants away under 'Highly Suspect,' but took one as instructed nonetheless.

Z2 enters from the Abandoned Town hiding thread.

When Z2 had felt his phone vibrate with a new text, all he needed to see was the word "Pendant" before quickly sending in a text message.

The next thing he knew, he was transported to a large gym with other people who were already there. A bright blue light and a chance at staying alive... it could be a trap, but at this point Z2 didn't care. As long as it meant a chance at survival, he would do anything. He grabbed a pendant from the basket and slipped it around his neck, just like the others.

((Gamma Five entering from Lighthouse))

xxxxxAlmost immediately after texting on the strange device, which was rather hard for a twelve year old who had never texted before, she looked around and noticed the big empty gym she had been placed in. It was sort of eerie, and a few people had already entered. No one seemed to be talking to each other, just focused on grabbing a pendant from the basket, like the sign said.

xxxxxWorriedly, Five ran to the basket and grabbed a pendant, and then snuck away from the crowd. It's not that she wasn't friendly, she was actually a rather friendly sort. It was just that the events on the island had scarred her so much that she didn't even want to look at anyone. She was afraid they would kill her at any moment.

[ BXI is entering from [LIGHTHOUSE] Inside and Up High ]

Beta Eleven squinted and tripped forward slightly as she was engulfed with blue light and deposited... in a gym? Okay then. She already had one of the remaining pendants halfway around her neck before Dr. Secondly's voice echoed over the intercom. The mannish girl didn't have time to think about what was to come, nor did thinking about much of anything except pendant pendant pendant come very easily anyway. Weren't these things supposed to keep them alive? Sure, there were more than five of them here, it seemed, but maybe someone had found a cloner or something.

Only when the thing was resting against the front of her armor did BXI remember to breathe. For this brief moment, the first one in days, she felt secure.

[B9 entering from Lighthouse]

B9 remembered responding to the text and then... she was in a gym. Freaking loved this place. She looked around. Lot of Beta's in here. She liked that. B9 went and grabbed the last pendant and put it on like they were told. "Awesome."

Several minutes passed as the roomed filled up, but eventually the intercom clicked on again, and Dr. H's voice sounded throughout the gym, "Excellent, this will do. Well then, let us begin." A sudden chill filled the the room, followed by the near electric sense that something had changed. Half the pendants began to glow brighter while the other half...well, they glowed as well. But red. Another shift in the room, and those wearing blue pendants felt a startling sensation not unlike an ice cube being slid down their spine.

"I strongly advise you against taking those pendants off, as the energy in this room tends to have a fairly dire effect on the human body when concentrated to such levels," the doctor began calmly. "Now, to give you a bit of back ground on this test: we've recently had a bit of a pest problem, and a few are still making themselves known. Not to mention a few dozen other such pests now have a means to access this place." He paused thoughtfully for a moment, and then continued, "A few of you may recall the story of one ah...Pied Piper? Yes. That's the one, and my proposed solution to said pest issue is somewhat along those lines."

As the participants are given a moment to digest all this, a few may notice that their weapons and first aid kits in the process of disintegrating. "Half of the pendant should have turned red, they are an altered version of the original pendants. I'll be referring to them as Command pendants. The blue, normal looking ones also have a little extra something in them. It's a highly concentrated form of the energy you now feel in the room. It's difficult to properly explain but..." another pause, "...there are those who call is FEAR."

The weapons and kits are completely gone by now, and the idea that this may have truly been a bad decision looms over the participants. "Although these will be tested out in more specific and also more general ways, for this trial we'll have you in teams of two: one with command and the other holding FEAR. Command users will be able to find their partner by doing just that, issuing a verbal command. Try it a few times, get used to each other, and then the real testing will begin."

The hell was going on?? Gamma 12 gave 8 a look through her mask, frowning in disapproval at having been followed. It had been 8's perogative to follow her, it wasn't as though she could have said 'sit, stay, good.' to anybody in this manner... but it seemed that now she had to hope that things wouldn't get worse.

Honestly, 12 would have liked it if she was the only one left in danger of the situation.

However, when the pendants started changing colors, she looked down at hers, noting the change in color and making another face. Dammit. She was a blue. That meant she was going to be someone else's fighting-b***h, didn't it? She gripped one hand into a fist, looking around to see who wasn't a red.

Someone in here now had sudden control over her...
....

and she wasn't sure she was going to like it.

Soon after Theta Nine's pendant started to glow a brighter blue, he shivered at the sensation of an ice cube sliding down his spine. He scanned the room quickly, taking in which gas mask troopers had red pendants and which gas mask troopers had blue like him. He felt a sudden jolt of dismay as he recognized some familiar faces bearing red pendants. Was this going to be reds against blues? He hoped not but knew he had little choice in the matter. A by-now reflexive brush of his fingers against his bandages revealed that they were disintegrating, as were his medkits. He groaned in his mind. This was just getting better and better.

The doctor's voice was calm, too calm for Thyme's liking, but the Theta bore the voice's warning in mind even as the man moved on to talk about the pest problem. Considering the chaos and conflict of the past few days, maybe he ought to go and shake those pests' hands. As he listened on, his lips pressed into a thin line. First a meatshield, now a lackey? Great, just great. If he did have authority issues in his past -- and the rising ire within suggested that he might indeed -- he couldn't fault his former self for it. He studied the Command pendant users, wondering which of these held his fate in their hands.

Before let out a loud yelp, sounding more like a puppy that got its tail stepped on, and immediately tried to shake off the shivers shooting up his spine. He looked down at his pendant and saw it was glowing blue. Before wasn't certain how to feel about the color. On the one hand, he wasn't required to give orders, YAY! On the other hand, he had no idea which person with the glowing red pendant he was going to be following. He immediately tried to herd himself with Bix and Bee while "subtly gesturing" (read: obviously waving) to the other Betas present.

"So the red-pendanters (dude, that's a mouthful)... red-pandas are the pied pipers. Does that mean we blue-pendanters... blue-pandas are supposed to be the rats? Can I be that tone-deaf kid instead?" :CCCCC he whimpered to his Beta-teammates.

Fedora stared at the line of people and tilted her head at the doctor's explanation, glancing down at her pendant curiously. It changed red, and there were a great many whose pendants were blue. She counted, and they were all even.

"So... issue a command, yeah?" Pursing her lips behind her mask, she didn't really pay attention to the numbers before speaking, and thus didn't catch Thyme in the crowd.

"Okay, so whoever is connected to mine... jump up and down and wave your arms in the air. Just so I know who it is." She shrugged; it was a harmless gesture, and one that would really tell her who was her current partner.

Three started as the atmosphere in the room changed, it was similar to the manner in which things changed before a storm - the temperature drop, the feeing that something nasty might be coming right around the corner and she shivered slightly even as she noticed her pendant starting to glow a bright red color. Weird - all the pendants she'd seen so far had been blue - but then it seemed pretentious to assume that all the pendant in the basket had been real now didn't it?

And then the voice was speaking again and B3 began to think that she might should have just stayed in the lighthouse - and advised her team not to reply to the mysterious texts. Of course should haves and would haves were hardly worth considering in this place as she'd already learned "Right..." she muttered eying her fellow blues encouragingly - they were here so they'd make the best of it and pass whatever test this Dr. H was going to put to them.

"Whoever is connected to my pendant just come over here to me so we can see who we are" She stated, letting her eyes sweep the gathered participants to see who might move forward.

Beta-Six started to panic while their weapons were disintegrating. His trusty (ever-failing) gun!! And that first aid kid had saved his life!

He trembled again when he noticed that his pendant was blue. On one hand he did not want to have to fight anyone but on the other hand he was really grateful not to be the one ordering any attacks.

They would have to fight right? Dr. H didn't say that they would but if he'd learned anything on this island it was that everything ended with a fight. Before looked concerned and he noticed that his team mate was also a blue. Jeez.

"So.. " he waited to hear a command and see how this pendant compelled him to do what he was told. Hopefully his 'Commander' didn't throw him to the wolves like cannon fodder.

Her pendant glowed blue.

Eta XII shot a look around the gym, looking for her Command, then shrugged. As long as she didn't have to get into a pokeball, she could wait.
