"Yay, lucky m-"
She twitched as he changed - alright fine, not changed, just took off his clothes but it involved the same actions! - and dove straight into the pool. While he clearly knew what he was doing, Lizzy didn't. She stood, staring up to the point where he vanished from view, before slowly walking over to where he had dumped his bag. Then, just as slowly, she stacked his discarded clothes on top of it, picked everything up and moved it over to the benches at the side before sitting down and proceeding to fold his clothes.
She was deliberately wasting time, whining and flailing internally while trying very hard not to do so outwardly; she had a feeling flailing near a body of water was a bad, bad idea. Her hands, however, were trembling as she folded the clothes. Not out of fear though; out of the fact that she would have to do what he did and she didn't want to.
WHY, IF ONLY MAC WAS FEMALE. WHYYYYY. WHYYYY. ADFAFSJAKJS.
That was pretty much her thought process as she stacked the now folded clothes in a neat pile beside his bag. Standing up, she then placed her own bag beside his and slipped out of her sandals before letting down her hair, stuffing the clip into her bag. A second later, she dug out a hair band and wore it on her wrist before pausing.
... ...
Making sure that there was absolutely nobody around, she slipped out of her shirt as quickly as she could, shivering and feeling way too naked. She had worn a black bikini under her black shirt - she was in the mood to wear black today - and while she had bought it with the intention to wear it, Lizzy was starting to regret her decision. Maybe she should had gotten something else instead, something less revealing. Looking at the pool from where she was, she folded her shirt (slowly), before placing it on top of her bag; that's it... She had officially ran out of things to fold.
Part of her wanted to grab her shirt and make a break for it. She'll ask Riley to hide her in her study. Mac will never find her in the mindflayer's room! NEVER. Especially since she was sure he would never go near it... But then, he'll get angry with her for running away. She was sure he was probably already angry at her for making him wait.
Signing, she rubbed her bare arms before making her way towards the pool, toes curling up when she felt the water at her feet. So many bad memories... And some weren't even recent! Sitting down at the edge, she dipped her legs into the water and smiled at herself, swinging her legs about in the water; well, at least its warm!
"Should I tie up my hair for this?" She frowned nervously at her instructor for the day, "Will it even make a difference?"

Mac broke the surface and tread water there, for a moment or two purposely keeping just his eyes above the water. What was taking her so long? Was she...was she folding his clothes?! She moved his stuff?! What was wrong with where it was?! Picky, PICKY little Demoness! He exhaled through his nose, forming bubbles in the water. Okay, fine, he'd let her stall for a little while longer...but just a little. Just as she started to fold her own clothing, he straightened up in the water, pushing his hair back from his face.
"You can train to be a housewife later, get over here." He snorted, his patience - just as she predicted - wearing very thin. The Reaper was too busy being irritated to take much note of what she was wearing; rather, how little she was wearing, and instead moved forward in the water to stand closer to her, holding out his arms and waggling his fingers in an apparently threatening gesture.
"Doesn't matter, tried back might be easier. Either way you've stalled long enough, and you have three seconds to get in the water before I make you get in the water." He didn't sound irritated, as least as irritated as he had previously been. In fact, he was kind of looking forward to forcefully getting her into the pool!
Luckily for Lizzy, Mac had at least stood up properly to prove it wasn't as deep where they were.
"One." He started, a grin twitching on his lips.

"Uhhhh-" Cue the internal flailing and whining again as she stared at Mac with a horrified expression as he started to count; he was enjoying this! He was clearly enjoying this! Whyyyy. WHYYYYYY. Muttering something inaudible under her breath which was likely something along the lines of 'Macissuchameanperson', she climbed into the water, clinging on to the side of the pool before realizing that she could feet the ground beneath her feet.
Alright, that wasn't too bad, right?
Pulling her hair back into a ponytail, she quickly tied it up before leaning against the wall of the pool, eying Mac, "See, I'm in, I'm in! What do we do now?" She knew what not to do though; do not flail, do not whine (too much), do not run away, do not cling to Mac or risk dying of embarrassment rather than drowning. Sounds easy enough.

"Two." Without skipping a beat. "Th---" Pausing as she slid into the water but still clinging to the wall like a baby, he decided that was good enough and clapped for her instead. "Yes yes I'm a horribly mean person. This is for your own good and if you don't like it, you can leave." Though that wouldn't stop him from turning this from nice lessons to suddenly learning-on-the-job, so to speak.
"Floating." The Reaper instructed, looking torn for a moment before reaching out, taking a hold of her arm to draw her away from the edge of the pool. He was careful to stay in the more shallow end, of course. "You have to be comfortable in the water, the moment you start flailing and panicking you're done for." The hand on her arm slid to press flat against her back.
"So lay back, pretend you're laying on the ground, and relax. Float. I won't let you go under, I promise."

"I just get this feeling you'll toss me back into the pool if I tried to run," She muttered, more to herself than to Mac, really, but she had thought of running. She stiffened when she was pulled away from the safety of the wall, but went with it anyway, glad that she could still feel the ground under her; when he brought up the point about flailing, she nodded to show that she was listening to his instructions.
Listening was one thing, doing, however, was another.
She started to blush when she felt his hand on her back, and only stiffened even more. How could she relax? It was impossible. Nodding anyway, she closed her eyes and kicked herself off the ground. Her back was supported, which sort of helped her to (attempt to) relax as she felt herself floating upwards.
Then again, 'suspended in water with her face above the surface' was probably more accurate. At least she wasn't sinking like a rock.

"I have a feeling you should listen to yours." He responded with a wide grin, mildly happy that she was more or less resigning herself to this particular fate. She had bothered to put on a bathing suit and go to the pool with him knowing that he was going to teach her how to swim, so escaping wasn't something he was going to allow.
She listened to him and he patiently let her take her time with the whole floating thing but soon, very soon, the pressure of his hand on her back started to fade. Slowly, he stopped supporting her, seeing how well she'd take to floating on her own.

It was a good thing he specifically told her not to flail in the water, or she would have the moment she felt him let go. Instead, she tensed up and tried her best not to move; her legs started to sink while the rest of her body stayed up, more or less. After what seemed like forever, but was probably just a few seconds, she finally managed to relax, shifting her legs as she tried her best to stay afloat... Although her face probably didn't reflect that; she looked horrified, with her eyes squeezed shut.
After who-knows-how-long of floating, she finally believed that she wasn't just going to sink, and opened her eyes to stare at the ceiling of the gym. She stayed there for a while, just staring... It was rather soothing, and her body relaxed on its own. However, she still wasn't comfortable enough to turn her head to look at Mac while trying to float. Instead, she forced herself upright, heaving a sigh of relief when she felt the floor.
Oh hey, she did it! She did ittttt!
Moving over to cling to Mac's arm, she grinned, looking up at him; if eyes could sparkle, hers probably would be, "You're an awesome teacher." Of course the credit was his! All she did was float, really.

Mac let her float for as long as she felt the need to, somewhat pleased she lasted as long as she did without freaking out. He'd seen her last attempt at swimming; he was actually quite proud of her already. The Reaper had been about to get up and make her stop floating when she did it on her own, and before he knew it she was attaching herself to him on the verge of sparkling. Alright. Pride over.
"I am." He grinned again, patting her on the head before peeling her off of him, grabbing her wrists and slowly pulling her into somewhat deeper water; she could still touch, but it would be nearing her neck now. "Do you know how to ride a bicycle?" An odd question, considering they were in the water.

While she had never been self conscious about her build, there were several disadvantages to being short. Right now, while the water was going up to her neck, she realized that Mac was still comfortably above the water level. The only fun thing about walking into deeper waters, was how weightless she felt, and the way she could almost float while walking. In fact, she was smiling to herself up until Mac posed her with a question.
"Uh, does a tricycle count?" She frowned, remembering riding one over a decade ago when she was a child and her father was still alive. At the thought, she looked upset for split second before shaking her head, offering him a small smile instead, "If not, nope... Why?"

It was probably also a good thing for Lizzy that Mac still didn't clue in to the type of bathing suit she was wearing. As far as he was concerned, she was just a Demon, not a pretty ghoul in a pretty bathing suit. So, for now, she could have been wearing a t-shirt for all he knew or cared. He was focused on making sure there was one less thing out there to kill her; he definitely was not willing to experience that island again.
"Eh, counts enough. Do you remember how you moved your legs?" A brief pause, and then he decided to help her out a bit. "Moving your legs in a circular motion, kind of like running?" His head tilted and he moved his legs a bit, moving to more or less lead by example; he started treading water, moving his legs in the way he had tried to describe.

"I don't remember it, but I do know it I suppose," She admitted with a nod; its not hard to imagine herself riding a bicycle, although if she really did it, she would probably fail. She moved back a little as he started to do something with his legs; partially because moving backwards meant shallower waters and partially because she wanted to give him some space. If he asked though, she was just going to tell him the latter.
Staring at what he was doing, she realized that it helped him stay above the water (oh, so that's how people do it!) without needing to touch the ground; that would no doubt come in handy... If she could master it.
"Right... Like this...?" She mimicked his actions, although she couldn't help flailing her arms in the process to help her stay above the water. A few seconds into it, however, she started to frown, "This... Is more tiring than running."

The Reaper watched her for a moment, nodding a little to confirm that she was...starting to do it right. The flailing, though...always with the flailing. Lips pressing into an unamused line, Mac sighed and reached out, grabbing her wrists to stop the unneccesary movement.
"It's tiring because you're doing it wrong. Relax, stupid. Stop flailing, that's just going to hurt you in the long run." Instead of letting her go, he started to move her arms instead, forcing her to make lazy horizontal flapping motions, calmly moivng her arms through the water. Of course, being Mac, he was also slowly leading her into the deeper part of the pool, making sure there was no way she could touch the ground.
"Like this, nice and easy. I'm going to let go now, if you stop you're going to go under." As promised, he released her wrists...though he did it slowly, giving her at least a little bit of time to adjust on her own.

For a split second, she looked like she was going to start whining again when she felt Mac grab her wrist; luckily for him, she wasn't quite as nervous as before and managed to remind herself to not whine since... Well, since he was technically doing her a favor by teaching her how to swim. Besides, it was less tiring to do as he instructed, although 'not flailing' was easier said than both for her.
"Okay..." She muttered softly, looking up at him with a nervous yet slightly woeful expression at the thought of 'going under'. While the flapping motion was less tiring than flailing mindlessly, the motion of treading water was rather tiring by itself. Within a minute, her movements had slowed as she struggled to keep herself above the water. Before long, she had started to sink... And that's when she realized she could no longer feel the floor beneath her feet.
Wait, when did he- She had been so focused on the task of staying afloat and 'doing it right' that she failed to realize that he had dragged her deeper into the pool. No no no, this is bad. Its not fair! Totally not fair! Mac's taller than her and can handle deeper waters!
She tried to reach the floor with her toes, and when that failed, she reached out for Mac. Her expression had changed from a nervous and woeful expression to a completely woeful 'Noooo' expression instead. Hey, at least she was still treading water in the process?

Not only did Lizzy find herself in the deep end, she found herself on the deep end about three feet away from one ledge, which would have been lucky for her had Mac not started swimming the other way. With well more than three quarters of the pool's width between them, Mac pulled himself out of the water and went to sit on the edge.
"Alright, last thing for today; swim to me. To this side of the pool." The Reaper shook the water from his hair before slicking it back and completely out of his face, his black eyes arched in rather sadistic pleasure at his abandoning her. "If you touch the side closest to you, I'm going to put you back where you started, and you're not allowed out until you swim to me." He swished his feet in the water, leaning back on his hands to watch her no doubt panic.
"Just remember to relax and, ah, woehound paddle or something."

"You're not cute like that, Puppy," She muttered as she started to sink into the water, the nickname used out of spite rather than necessity. Of course, she was also muttering so it probably wasn't meant for Mac's ears. By now, she had started sinking so much that she had pretty much disappeared completely underwater except for a pair of woeful looking eyes. She stayed that way for a second before pushing herself above water again by treading water, gasping for air.
Woehound paddle it is. Ironically, 'woehound' is a pretty apt description for the expression on her face right now.
Slowly, she did her best impression of a woehound paddle, making very little progress in the process as she paddled her way towards Mac. However, it soon became obvious that she was getting tired and was slowing down. Woehound paddle was not worth the energy. Not at all. She stopped, and allowed her body to sink into the water... Ah! She smiled; she can feel the floor again!
