Alexander Higgins Cat Snake Alexander sighed. He had nothing against this hawk, he just wanted to be alone. Was there anything wrong with that? He sat there, trying to ignore the fact that the bird circling overhead was more than a simple hawk. He gave up. He Shifted back and stood up, anger pretty apparent on his face. "If you don't mind," he said quietly. Can you find some other place to sit? This is my spot. It always has been."

Elaine Smith Lightning Mage Elaine watched the ice circle around the boy, cutting him up quickly. She wrinkled her nose. Disgusting. "I'd like to see you summon up the energy to do that during a battle," she muttered back in the same quiet voice. "My way requires minimal effort, accomplishes the same goal, and is much cleaner. Also, your way makes it obvious that it was done by a Mage. Mine could have been anything. She could have died from a sickness from all you can see on her corpse."The teacher looked around the room and saw dead bodies everywhere. "Excellent," he said. "You've all passed with flying colors. Except...you." The teacher pointed to a group of squeamish looking girls. They bowed their heads and walked out, ashamed. "The rest of you can follow me. You will be getting your assignments now."

Fai Feldato Light Mage Fai walked into the small town of Woodbridge. There had been reports of shifters using the village as a meeting place. His mission was to infiltrate this underground network and shut it down. He slowly approached a small inn in the center of the town. "Sigh... This does not seem like it will take very long... I guess I could wait until dusk when the predators come out and play... A walk in the forest will probably help me relax a bit." He thought as he walked by a large stone fountain. As he walked through town, he watched the many people going through their lives, not knowing what was really happening outside the village walls. "If only they knew..." He thought.

Valhalla Elkwood "Alright. I'll find somewhere else." He replied as he flew off across the lake. "Where to go... Where to go..." He asked himself as he flew down, gliding just above the water.

Alexander Higgins Cat Snake Alexander sighed and lay down in the sun, thinking. Thinking about his new assignment. That he would soon be out hunting those stuck up Mages. He imagined his fangs sinking into one and smiled. His thoughts were interrupted by a sound. Wondering who was there now he Shifted slightly and stuck out his tongue. Wolf...and human. A Shifter. He Shifted his tongue back to normal and walked over to a group of trees where he saw a woman hiding. "I haven't seen you around anywhere," he said. "Have you been out on assignments?"

Valhalla Elkwood Valhalla flew over the small village out north. "Hmm? That's odd. I don't recognize... Oh god." He quickly turned and started to fly back to the lake. "I got to warn the other shifter! And fast!" He thought as he flew back.

Artemis Aelous The White Wolf Artemis watched the snake and hawk interact with one another. She did not feel any foul intentions.... but decided to wait and watch a little longer. When the hawk left she paused. There was nothing more to watch here. She moved alight, ready to leave her hiding spot. But that got the snake's attention. So she stayed put, not making any sudden movements. Artemis loosened the grip on her bow, there was nothing to fear here. Artemis looked at the snake shifter through her wooden mask which hid her questionable look. "Assignments?" she questioned the snake. She lifted her wooden mask to reveal her face. "I'm sorry, I haven't been on any assignment in a long time," she added. Her face was relaxed until she sensed something. She didn't know what it was, but she became cautious. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Eden Barnabus Ice Mage Eden grimaced and said ambiguously, " Maybe I'll show you it again one day." Did it really matter how it died? Who will care? Another shifter beast? The Mages council? He snickered a little at the thought. "Are you afraid of guilt? It's just an animal, how it dies doesn't matter. Keep talking like that and people will start to think you actually care for these beasts," Eden said smirking as he began to walk- following the teacher and class. What a silly girl, the only valid point she brought up was how much effort was put into his attack. Given, in a real battle he would be more conscious of energy use. But if he had to, he could use that same attack again. He was well trained after all.

Valhalla Elkwood Valhalla came in a bit to fast and nearly crashed into Artemis. "Wow! Sorry! I am in a bit of... Wait, are you a shifter? If so, there is a Mage in the nearby village! We have to take him out before he exposes everyone!" He said to both Artemis and Alexander.

Fai Feldato Light Mage (Slight time skip.) Fai walked out of the burning town. "Well, that didn't take very long. Oh! The graduations are today! I better go see who graduated!" He said to himself as he started to run towards the tower, leaving the burning village filled with dead bodies behind him.

Alexander Higgins Cat Snake "Really?" Alexander said to Valhallah. "Just one? He shouldn't be much of a problem."He Shifted slightly to taste the air. "That way, am I right?" he asked while pointing in the direction of the stench of Mage and fire. He started walking towards, not waiting for a reply. Obviously he was right. His tongue hadn't been wrong yet. He smiled. It had been a while since he had met a Mage. This would be fun, considering the unfair odds. The Mage didn't have a chance. Elaine Smith Lightning Mage "That I care for the beasts," Elaine repeated. "I care for you more than I care for them. And you want to show me it again, do you? Well, I can make my own flashy theatrics. I don't need your help. She followed the teacher up the stairs, to the highest room of the Mage Tower. To the Mage Council. Subconsciously, Elaine stood up taller and ran her fingers through her hair. Conducting lightning always made her hair frizz a little. Not in the stereotypical straight up in the air lightning way, but still, less perfect than she liked it. They walked into the room. Inside, about one hundred Mages sat around a table, looking the graduates up and down. Occasionally, they would call someone over and ask them some questions and them send them away. At the end, all the students would be given assignments. "You," an old grizzled one said, pointing to Elaine. "And you." He pointed to Eden. "Come here."Elaine walked over to the council member, an angelic smile on her face. "Yes? she replied.

Artemis Aelous The White Wolf Artemis jumped back a little when the hawk came in. However she did not get defensive. She listened to the hawk, then grabbed an arrow from her back sheath and nodded. " Right," she said as she ran along with Alexander. Even though she could run faster in her wolf form she did not change. It is easier to run and shoot in this form.... especially if she has to do it quickly. Her heart raced, she could start to smell the awful scent of fire burning. She looked for the hawk in the air for a moment, surely he would take that form to get there faster. As the three started to come to the end of the forest, Artemis placed the arrow on her bow and pulled back only slightly, preparing. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Eden Barnabus Ice Mage Eden did not reply back to Elaine, rather, he smirked contently and satisfied. He took a peek at the same pocket watch he looked at before battle. They were making good time, he liked that. The class arrived at a room with many mages all sitting there. This was a new experience for him but he felt confident in what ever assignment was given to him. He was eager but his face and body language showed control and patience. Eden's eyes slightly widened for a moment when he was called up with Elaine. His cold and unphased face did not shift as he approached the elder, " Yes?" he said along with Elaine but didn't bother to look at her.

Elaine Smith Lightning Mage "You two," the council member said. "You interact with each other. I see that you will soon learn to trust each other. I am assigning you two together. You will go to the Crystal Lake. The High Priestess has told us that their are demons there. Obviously, her vision was referring to those Shifters, who are demons in their own right."Elaine quickly masked her horror and looked at Eden. "It would be my pleasure to work with Eden," she said smoothly, though inside she was horrified. The council member looked pleased. "Excellent. Now go. Why are you still standing here?"Elaine turned away and started going down the stairs, not even bothering to see if Eden was following. She was on her way to the girls dorms, because no way was she leaving without at least taking a change of robes.

Valhalla Elkwood Valhalla jumped up into the air and flew towards the village. After a little bit, he got to the remains of the burnt down village. He swooped down and caught up to the others. "We were to late... That mage killed them all..." He said as he kicked a stick from the old tavern.

Fai Feldato Light Mage Fai ran to the tower. "Made it! Now, did I make it in time?" He asked himself as he entered. He walked in, taking another look around. He noticed the other mages walking around. "Let's see... For the graduation... It would be in the dungeon. But they must be done by now. Better go ask around." He said as he walked a little more down the hallway.

Artemis Aelous The White Wolf Artemis arrived to the burnt village right after the hawk shifter did. She lifted her mask up and covered her nose and mouth. The smell of death was noxious, it turned her stomach. When the hawk shifter spoke of a mage doing this, Artemis ran a head and looked in the distance. She saw movement, probably that same mage he spoke of. She quickly drew her bow but did not shoot. If she did, she would miss.... he was too far away and too many things were in the way. She lowered her weapon and put both arrow and bow away on her back. Artemis walked back to the cat snake and hawk shifters and said, " There is no way we can get him from here. If we go after him now he would be able to get back up from the council." She looked around, what a horrible tragedy. She thought for a moment and said, " Perhaps it is best to go to the Shifter Council and tell them of this attack...... I don't know what their protocol is now-a-days for these things, but I'm sure they would have a solution." ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Eden Barnabus Ice Mage Eden hid the disappointment from his face. He preferred to work alone, but if he had to do this for the good of the mage's court, then so be it. He did manage to smile a bit though. He'll be out there slaying those filthy shifters. He bowed his head and said, " Thank you elder, I accept this mission with pleasure." He left after Elaine and went to his own dorm. He needed to pack all of the necessities for this trip, without making his luggage heavy. He continually checked his watches for time. When everything was packed he left and went towards the entrance. He walked through the hallway, a few scattered students were passing him. He happened to make eye with one mage coming toward him, Fai Feldato.
